I've always loved Benjamin Moore in Dublin, but after being treated rudely by Elaine, the "color consultant" who insisted that all the paints she showed me are warm whites and "whites don't have undertones" - I realized she is not a color consultant. She is fast talking, curt, annoyed when you ask questions she can't answer, and was quick to pull out a color and say, "Use this one" without ever asking any pertinent questions. Really, it matters if you have a southern facing room or a northern facing room...paint represents differently in different rooms. She clearly knew none of this and was annoyed that I asked the RGB of their Swiss Coffee..she continued to insist that whites don't have undertones. When she finally asked the man at the front desk for the RGB, she rolled her eyes and threw her hand up like she was in disbelief I would ask that question. In reality, any color consultant should know that RGB is the red, green, and blue that is used to make a color, and helps to decipher a paint's undertones. Honestly, if she didn't know I wouldn't have cared, but she was hostile and curt, and seemed like someone in a rush; someone I would expect to be on commission in a shopping mall. I did call the manager and he was very apologetic and professional. However, I've decided not to go back, as there are many paint stores in the Bay Area where color consultants are welcoming, engaging, and don't act hostile toward the customers. read more

First time in and will definitely be back! I was referred here by a painter who has done some work in my neighborhood. We worked with Eli and he helped us secure colors for a 5 room remodel - primer, ceiling, trim paint etc. Super helpful and knowledgeable. Put the order in for 23 gallons and it was ready within the hour. There was another gentleman and young lady who helped load the car. Super awesome people. Went there on Saturday with my family, including 2 young children. We patiently waited our turn to ask the the color consultant a few questions. While speaking with her and looking at her recommendations the "paint" guys (the other employees) literally shut off all the lights because it was almost 4pm and they were closing. Aside from the front door, there was no light in the store so obviously it was a rude nonverbal "get out". No courtesy. Not even a warning, literally shut the lights off and left us holding the little paint swatches up, unable to even see. This place is no joke. They're legit as can be. I was shopping for paint to cover my room and wanted a certain brand and color. I had two colors that I wanted to buy, however I didn't know the name of the second color. The rep looked at it and was able to select the color from the picture based off his experience. There's hundreds of colors to pick from and he picked the color he felt was close. When I got home I was reading the comments of the picture online and saw the color he selected was actually right, what a pro. He answered all my questions and concerns and was very confident and even gave me his personal opinion. The one awesome thing was his had various paint colors on his sweater which made me think " He puts in some serious work". To top it off when comparing prices, the price they gave me was cheaper than online. I had been searching for someone that carried a particular wood stain without much success. When I went to the manufacturer's web site, they listed Professional Paint Center as one of their distributors. I was all set to drive the one plus hours to get to Dublin to pick up the stain when I received a call from Jim at PPC. He had taken it upon himself to personally call a paint store near me (he knew the owners) to see if they could order the stain -- and it turned out they could!! Wow! So happy there is a Benjamin Moore store in Dublin. No more driving to Danville to get my paint. Stopped in today to get some larger paint chips and was greeted by 2 very helpful employees. They took great care of me and were very friendly. Will definitely be going back here as I still have a few painting projects and still need some more paint. I came totally confused and I read a yelp review about color consultation. I walk in and saw a smiling inviting face of Angelika. She is a color consultant and now everything about paint, colors and tones. She looked at pictures of my room and my bedding and suggested a color for that is perfect for me and a color I never would have looked twice at and now my room looks like a picture out of Elle Decor! I highly recommend if you are painting to stop by here and use their color consultants. They are experts at paint and color took all the confusion and stress out of picking the perfect color.
