Hey a free quart of paint brought me in today via a Facebook advertisement. Being on a Sunday morning, they place itself was quite dead, I'm not sure how busy it can get but I can imagine it getting crazy busy like Home Depot or Lowe's gets at times. The employees were average but still quite helpful overall and depending on how the paint works or comes out, I may visit this place or another local Kelly Moore store.

I've always loved Benjamin Moore in Dublin, but after being treated rudely by Elaine, the "color…read moreconsultant" who insisted that all the paints she showed me are warm whites and "whites don't have undertones" - I realized she is not a color consultant. She is fast talking, curt, annoyed when you ask questions she can't answer, and was quick to pull out a color and say, "Use this one" without ever asking any pertinent questions. Really, it matters if you have a southern facing room or a northern facing room...paint represents differently in different rooms. She clearly knew none of this and was annoyed that I asked the RGB of their Swiss Coffee..she continued to insist that whites don't have undertones. When she finally asked the man at the front desk for the RGB, she rolled her eyes and threw her hand up like she was in disbelief I would ask that question. In reality, any color consultant should know that RGB is the red, green, and blue that is used to make a color, and helps to decipher a paint's undertones. Honestly, if she didn't know I wouldn't have cared, but she was hostile and curt, and seemed like someone in a rush; someone I would expect to be on commission in a shopping mall. I did call the manager and he was very apologetic and professional. However, I've decided not to go back, as there are many paint stores in the Bay Area where color consultants are welcoming, engaging, and don't act hostile toward the customers.

Surveying the products on the shelf, I realized that I could use some of the fly ribbons and sticky traps I already have at home (previously used for flies). But I also grabbed some Safer Home pantry pest traps this time around. The store was clean and organized on a Wednesday afternoon. The pest control products were easy to find, the location similar to most other HD stores (far aisle on the left in Pleasanton). Checking out was quick and simple without any waits. In fact, there were workers at the self checkout registers helping customers ring up their orders... unnecessary but appreciated (as long as they don't slow me down). There was even an employee greeting guests at the entrance, and she was helpful and friendly too. Even though I just made a small purchase on this day, I was genuinely impressed with the service here, as well my overall experience.

Fortunately I had taken a photo for Yelp and showed it to VJ. He was able to correct the mistake and charge me the advertised price. I was a long time customer of the competitor but prefer Lowe's for their customer service and quality of their products. I also found a great a great value on a new jacket for my dog Lola.

Lowes does not own installation team, but rely solely on subcontractors. 1.We paid Lowes full price for installation and was assured scheduler will call within 48 hours 2. Had to call Lowes after 96 hours waiting...who gave me subcontractor number.....who happens to be in LA, while I am located in SF bay area 3. The subcontracttor NEVER called, I had to call 3-4 different times to be "assured" installer will call me 4. After 4 times, they gave installer number ( name AJ )....who never ever answered the phone 5. Finally after lot of escalations by Lowes install team, so called AJ called this morning telling ( not asking) that he will visit between 100 and 130 6. AJ does not have simply courtesy to call/text that he is running late 7. Shows up at 345....one look and says he can not install garage door opener ...the reason he gave is power outlet point is not exactly above opener motor. 8. Asked if its building code, he explained Lowes prohibits to install if power outlet is not directly above motor....and he will call Lowes to cancel installation. VERY unprofessional installer...but thats only installer Lowes has. Anyways....stay away from Lowes Install....far far away,....
