It just is a completely different product. If you want your paint to look like it is part of the structure and not just laying on top of it then you want to go with a higher quality paint like a Sherwin Williams. Somebody in our family is a professional painter, and this is the only paint they like to work with for ease of application and durability. Keep an eye out for sherwins quarterly sales... brings the price point to beat box stores. And... there is just no comparison when it comes to quality. So much of painting is the labor cost. It doesn't make any sense to skimp on product! Pro tip : always do a patch test on the wall to see how the color dries and looks in different light as the day turns to night. Much cheaper than having to change color midway through a job. ;) Happy refresh!

The woman was rude, short and completely lacked customer service. She was put out with my questions and wasn't willing to "problem solve". I can't say enough good things about Linda and Eli at the Benjamin Moore paint store in Dublin…read more Every single visit feels less like a transaction and more like catching up with trusted experts who genuinely care about helping you get things right. From the moment you walk in, they're always friendly, welcoming, and ready to listen. They don't rush you, don't talk over you, and never make you feel like you should already know everything about paint (because most of us don't). Instead, they ask thoughtful questions about the project, the space, the lighting, and even how the room will be used -- details that make a huge difference in the final result. What really sets Linda and Eli apart is their advice and support. I've come in with vague ideas like, "I want something warm but not yellow" or "I need white, but not hospital white", and somehow they translate that into the perfect recommendation. They'll pull multiple samples, explain undertones, compare finishes, and even warn you about colors that might look great on a swatch but won't behave the same way once they're on the wall. They also excel in situations where a paint store rep truly proves their value: When you're repainting a room and need to match an old color that's faded over time When you're stuck between finishes and need to know what will actually hold up to kids, pets, or heavy traffic When a contractor is waiting and you need the right product fast, without costly mistakes When lighting changes everything and you need guidance on how colors look in natural vs. artificial light When you realize mid-project that something isn't working and you need a smart, calm solution, not guesswork Linda and Eli handle all of that with patience and confidence. They explain why a product works, not just what to buy. That level of knowledge builds trust, and it shows they truly stand behind what they recommend. It's rare to find people who combine deep expertise with kindness and approachability, but they do it effortlessly. Because of them, painting projects feel less stressful and more enjoyable -- and the results always turn out better than expected. If you're looking for a paint store where the staff genuinely wants you to succeed, this is it. Linda and Eli are the reason I'll keep coming back, and the reason I recommend the Benjamin Moore Dublin store to anyone who wants great results without the guesswork. Highly recommend -- every time.

I've always loved Benjamin Moore in Dublin, but after being treated rudely by Elaine, the "color…read moreconsultant" who insisted that all the paints she showed me are warm whites and "whites don't have undertones" - I realized she is not a color consultant. She is fast talking, curt, annoyed when you ask questions she can't answer, and was quick to pull out a color and say, "Use this one" without ever asking any pertinent questions. Really, it matters if you have a southern facing room or a northern facing room...paint represents differently in different rooms. She clearly knew none of this and was annoyed that I asked the RGB of their Swiss Coffee..she continued to insist that whites don't have undertones. When she finally asked the man at the front desk for the RGB, she rolled her eyes and threw her hand up like she was in disbelief I would ask that question. In reality, any color consultant should know that RGB is the red, green, and blue that is used to make a color, and helps to decipher a paint's undertones. Honestly, if she didn't know I wouldn't have cared, but she was hostile and curt, and seemed like someone in a rush; someone I would expect to be on commission in a shopping mall. I did call the manager and he was very apologetic and professional. However, I've decided not to go back, as there are many paint stores in the Bay Area where color consultants are welcoming, engaging, and don't act hostile toward the customers.

But anyhow, my friend was asked to leave her 8"X10" purse sized backpack up front, and the way the request was communicated made her feel belittled and stereotyped rather than treated with basic courtesy and respect. I understand that employees may need to follow store policies regarding bags, but those policies can be communicated professionally and without making a customer feel singled out or judged. Thank goodness there was another employee who intervened and allowed my friend to have her bag while she went to browse for what she came for. If it was me, I wouldn't bother to give any business whatsoever. I hope management addresses how these situations can be better handled so that customers are treated respectfully and consistently. Cause as of now, I'd rather spend my money at Home Depot and/or Lowe's. At least I'd get actual customer assistance and not be treated like some kind of shoplifter.
