I have always bought our paint here. Love shopping Danville businesses and supporting small. But today my experience here was appalling and offensive! The woman was rude, short and completely lacked customer service. She was put out with my questions and wasn't willing to "problem solve". As she walked away she said to the air " I don't know why I get so angry with this place and people". Her co worker asked what?? And she said oh I'm just talking to myself. I was at least 30 feet away and could hear her perfectly. There are other great Benjamin Moore retailers in Alamo and Dublin. I will be taking my business there! I've never been treated so rudely! Julie pretty much told me she would not help help me with a paint pallet unless I had a comforter, pillow or carpet to show her....even tho I told her the colors I really liked and I'm painting first, not putting in carpet!! ....very nose in the air snooty...I've since been to Dublin Benjamin Moore and got the help I needed. I was told there is no reason why you have to have these things to get help coordinating colors...it's a shame because I live in Danville yet I have to go to Dublin to get a professional color designer to help me. Went on a hunt for some wallpaper today and there so called designer had the personality of a rock. She was not helpful in any way and did not seem interested in helping me at all. I showed her some pics of my tile and the wood I would be using in the bathroom and explained what I was trying to accomplish. She basically told me to go look through the books. Well duh.....what the hell are you there for then !? I find that many of the paint stores have these so called color specialists and quite frankly they use the top 10 colors that designers are using on Instagram. They are not "specialists" at all. As I struggled to lift the four books I checked out, I accidentally knocked over her business cards. I quickly apologized and she didn't even acknowledge me. I even tried to say good bye on my way out ad she just stared at me. Really? Who hired this person? The guy at the counter who checked out the books had zero personality as well. No hello, no how's your day, nothing. I will find another store to purchase my wallpaper from. I do not recommend this store. I've been to the Benjamin Moore paint store in Dublin and I must say the experience was pleasant and nothing like I experienced today. read more

On a hunt for the perfect color for our great room, I found a Benjamin Moore color at OSH I loved. Got a sample...tried it on the wall, and it was perfect. Hubby went to OSH to purchase said paint (they carry BM which we used in our kitchen and master), and the paint employee there advised him that the BM store had 5 gallon sizes for less $ than the individual cans they carry. Amazing!! So off to Danville he went, and procured the giant can of paint. We are painting the day after Xmas...and I can't wait!! Results of other projects using BM paint were great, as I am sure this will be. Then we are done with the whole house for awhile! Oh, except trim and doors . read more

I CANNOT believe how rude the manager Maria is that works here! I called yesterday and ordered 3 samples. 5 minutes later after my designer said not to use those colors, I called back and someone else answered and i told them i needed to cancel the order. They said "no problem". Today she called me and told me i need to come to get them when i told her i canceled she called me a liar and hung the phone up on me. Then SHE CALLED ME BACK JUST TO TELL ME THAT "IT'S NOT VERY NICE OF YOU NOT TO PICKUP YOUR ORDER". I explained again that i had canceled it and she demanded i remember the name of who i talked to. I just realized I reviewed Danville Paint and Decorating under "Benjamin Moore", instead of here. It is a Benjamin Moore store but Danville Paint and Decorating is the name of the store front and it is so much more than just a standard paint store. They people are great and there is often a "designer" there who can help you color match and decide. Just bring in something from the room, be it tile, granite, wood color, or for me it was just the bedding from each of my daughters' rooms and they will totally help you find the perfect match! read more

Upon redoing our kitchen, I wanted to be sure that whatever paint we used would be washable, but with a matte finish. After lots of research online, I decided Benjamin Moores' new Aura paint would be a perfect fit. While not cheap ($60+ per gallon), its an exceptional paint. It does not smell (at all! and I am very sensitive to fumes), it rarely needs more than 1 coat, is washable, and comes in a variety of finishes, including matte. This is a family owned store and they are very friendly and happy to help you pick colors, etc. They also have a large selection of brushes, and necessary equipment to get the job done. So much easier than going into the big box stores. And better paint, too! read more

When I go into a retail store I expect to see what things cost. In this store there are no prices whatsoever. I know it is in Danville but I like to know what things cost before I buy them. I asked the girl at the counter and she said I would need to bring any item I was interested in to the front so she could scan it and then let me know the price. We repainted our master bathroom and asked for the "bathroom" type of finish. We paid hundreds of dollars for a painter to come out and paint, and unfortunately the very distracted lady at the front gave us the wrong finish of paint. She gave us flat paint instead of bathroom/semi-gloss that we asked for. We needed to buy all new gallons of paint (which isn't cheap!!) and have another painter come out and pay him additional hundreds of dollars to fix it. To make matters worse, the lady that helped me tried to charge me twice because she was so distracted. I already charged my card and signed for it, and she asked me to insert my card again because she forgot what happened 5 seconds prior. What a waste of time and money, will never return!!! I really enjoy working with small, family-owned enterprises like these when i can. The owners, Dewayne and Barbara, are always kind, soft-spoken, but very helpful. Terry, a paint expert there, is similarly helpful, and always has useful hints and tips to make the job go easier. The product is always quality. Benjamin Moore has the best coverage, resiliency, depth, and range of color in my opinion. What I like most about this particular location is that they are glad to mix the paint ahead of time if you call before you head down (as long as you are a returning customer and they have you in their computer). They also keep a log of your purchases, making it easier to track color selections (which sounds easier than it really is, trust me). Overall, great location, good people, and great customer experience. read more

I had one question regarding ceiling color and the woman on the phone had no information. There was no one else there to talk to. No one that had ANY information. So I've spend $30 so far on samples & all my samples at Dunn Edwards were free. I get it that the paint is an entirely diff level - higher quality but don't cop an attitude about it. So far the people who work there haven't been nice. The girl seemed over worked and tired on Monday and today the guy seemed eager to rush me out the door. After the 3rd painting of our nursery without satisfaction, I decided we should consult paint "pros" to get advise on the best color scheme. Terry was fantastic (though my wife later admitted she initially thought his "palate" matching was BS). The end result? OM-f-ingG!! That is the color we should have gone with all along. Also, Aura paint is THE BEST paint there is. Period. Like space shuttle awesome. Anyhow, stay away from Lowes and Home Depot paint departments. Benjamin Moore colors are the best and being a fanatic for grays, I got all my colors with a blue gray undertone, Gray Owl, Palace Pearl, Thronton Sage, and Simply White. I needed one more color for a room and so I walked in not thinking I'd finalize a color right away. The sample coordinated with all my interior colors that I went ahead with the purchase the same day...Turned out amazing. The design consultants are the best at helping with color ideas too. I have purchased paint here over the years without a problem, but had a terrible experience yesterday. I purchased several gallons of paint, they loaded them into my car and I drove a mile home, unloaded the box with 4 gallons in it into my house and the paint had leaked all over the box, and was now dripping on my hardwood floors, my clothes, etc. I had to hurry and wipe everything up get the cans into a bag and load them back into car and take them back. Not only were the manager and the man who had sold me the paint unsympathetic, they actually blamed me for how I handled the paint when I left the store! I was completely blown away by the accusation that I could somehow have caused these paint cans to leak all over by driving home 2 minutes away and taking them out if the box. Last time I checked, you actually need a tool to open sealed paint cans! I will go to Ace Hardware for my paint now. This was a horrible customer experience! read more

My choice is always to buy from local shops but I will never return to this store. I went in to look at wallpaper books. The lady working spent the first 10 minutes I was there on the phone with what was an obvious personal call. When she hung up and then finished texting it took her another five minutes to ask if I needed help. After telling her what I was looking for and the specific color I wanted she showed me things on the opposite side of the color wheel and nothing even close to the pattern or style I mentioned. As I continued looking through books she continued showing me things that were the wrong color and style before stopping and returning to her phone. read more

I have had a series of 5 star experiences in this store recently, having them mix a variety of custom paint colors to use as touch-up paint for my mother's house which will be going on the market soon. The colors that she used when she moved in were all B/M colors; however, the painter elected to have them all mixed elsewhere (not good...) and consequently they were not exactly true to the actual B/M paint. We have no idea what brand he used, the cans are long-gone, so we knew that B/M would have to help us color match the exact colors mixed by the mystery company. We have taken in a variety of quarter-sized flakes off the walls of various rooms for them to custom match. FABULOUS! Each and every one has been dead-on. You simply cannot tell that anything at all has been touched up. People either do a good job at this or they don't.....The crew at this store has been excellent. My husband and I renovate historical homes in New Orleans, and use only B/M paint. We are used to a superlative group at our local store. Honestly, this store in Danville felt like I was dealing with the store back home - friendly, helpful and oh-so-good. Custom matching takes awhile - and it needs to be right, so we always told them no rush, get it right, and call when done. End of business day was our usual pick-up time. If I lived here I would not buy paint anyplace else. read more
