My contractor sent me here to "go shopping." Find what you like and I can work with it. What a large warehouse full of many varieties of flooring! You can get your daily steps in this store and spend hours looking for the right tile. But you'll be sure to find it! Looks like a Home Depot except the biggest difference is that there are people at Floor & Decor who ask if you need help then actually help you. They have the nicest staff. I'm pretty sure I was approached by 5 people at 5 different times of my visit. The most helpful one was Milan. Not only did she direct us to different tile sections, she gave lots of suggestions and also gave us her opinions. She also would get a sample of a tile that she thought might look good. At the end of our shopping selection for a bathroom, she printed out all the options we selected and printed us a copy so they're all in one place. I would definitely come back. I came here after Pleasant Hill didnt have my shower tiles. The website stated there were over 4 boxes in stock. Unfortunately they had a few of the loose tiles with no boxes. An associated named Dmaura came to assist. Hope i got her name right. She looked and confirmed there were 4 boxes but she couldn't find them. I told her that it was okay and I would comeback because I know the online quantities are not always up to date. That is where other people would stop. Dmaura kept looking for 20 minutes and I was already checking out when she screamed to me that she found the boxes that were randomly hidden some things near a cutting area. This is exceptional service that I want to recognize. She really cared to help me even when I accepted defeat. I work in Healthcare and this is someone that displayed a compassion and energy that I see in exceptional providers. She put a smile to me and brothers face when we had dealt with some negative personal events earlier. This worker left an impression and had to leave a review even though this was about a month ago. Customer service is so important, and a lost art. Recently, F & D gave the incorrect materials to my contractor who did the pick up. I called the store, and finally was connected to a manger, Karina. The first thing she did was apologize for the wait - what? Not used to that! I explained the problem expecting push back, but she was super kind and professional. She told me to bring back the materials and would have the correct ones ready. She then gave me her work hours and asked what time I would arrive so she could have her warehouse people ready. I must celebrate a recent visit's experience I encountered when shopping for laminate molding. I went to the Service counter hoping to find options for molding to cover a platform installed in our church. I was greeted by Ignacio "Nacho" Zamora, who after listening to my needs took me over to the where the items I needed, helped to pick out the best match, explained to me the application best practices, took me over to where the adhesives were, advised on how many tubes I would need and rapidly and professionally checked me out at his register. They encouraged me to buy ten percent extra in case I needed it, saying I can return any unused. Today I went to return 8 boxes, WITH a valid receipt from less than 30 days ago, in unopened original packaging, and they would NOT take it back. Said it had been discontinued so they cannot resell it. Even though I had the original receipt. So now I have hundreds of dollars worth of floor I can't return and don't need. And I just looked at their website, it is literally still for sale. So it is not discontinued. So they lied to me and stole my money. read more

Bought a bathroom vanity recently. Got it home to find out that shrink wrap covered 2 big holes in the box and the forklift punctured the vanity. They replaced it, no questions asked. The worst floor and decor I've been to. Service is awful. I've been to many Floor and Decor stores in Texas and in California and this is the first one what won't allow me to pick my own product. After waiting for the sales associate in the isle for 30 minutes (after he forgot that I was even there and while multiple associates saw me standing there needing assistance and no one came to help), he comes back and essentially says that I can spend $2000 on this product but we have to pick it for you. I drove 45 minutes from the pleasant hill location (which they were very accommodating by the way) just to deal with this. Great read more

We paid F&D $5K for a kitchen project and they ghosted us. Like legit won't answer our emails or calls. We requested our project to start back in May. We finally got our installation date to be Wednesday (July 28th). I emailed them last Wednesday to ask something. I emailed them again on Friday (July 23rd) to confirm. They then emailed back saying they can't come, saying they don't have material and they don't know when they can come. First off, I have an email from them on June 24th (over a month ago) confirming they have our material and all they need to do is to find an installation date. So why are they using that as an excuse for not being able to come? Also, I had to email them first asking something and THEN they emailed me saying they don't have material to install our kitchen? The customer service and prices I received at the San Leandro store of Floor and Décor was so good that they deserve a shoutout. I just completed tiling 1,400 s.f of patio flooring that the team at F & D in San Leandro helped me in selecting well priced outdoor tile. The manager of the San Leandro store, Steve Torres, spent over an hour helping me and my husband find large format outdoor tiles that would fit our budget. The pro specialist, Ignacio (Nacho) Zamora, also helped us select the proper materials to ensure that our tiles would be durable for the exterior and over time. They were patient and seem to really care about the customers' goals and needs. For example, even though we had already purchased and were awaiting delivery of the tiles and materials, Nacho contacted me with a better priced product that one of the manufacturer reps had told him would work for our project. After securing my approval to change the product, he refunded the more expensive material with the new one suggested by the manufacture rep. Unfortunately, the manufacturer rep was not correct. When I raised this error to Steve and Nacho's attention after the materials had been delivered (I paid a delivery fee) and asked that they pick up (at their expense), the mistaken material, they agreed. Their regional manager, Steve Costagali, personally picked up the materials and issued an online refund so I did not need to go into the store. Nowadays, it is rare to find businesses that take accountability and provides excellent customer service. Because of how the San Leandro team handled this situation, I plan to go back to them and to refer them to anyone with flooring needs. read more

I used to think that good customer service was a thing of the past. Boy was I wrong! The minute I walked in, the front register greeted me and said hello. They also noted that if I needed help, I can ask anytime. Then I thought, wow, what a great start to my shopping experience. 5 minutes passed by, I'm loading a few boxes on the cart, floor rep greeted me, and asked if I needed help. Sure I said, quietly wiping the sweat off my forehead (each box weighed over 70 lbs!). Needed another load of tiles in different aisle so I proceeded to my next stop after thanking the helpful gentleman. While loading the second set of tiles, I realized there weren't enough boxes on the sales floor but another floor rep offered to check the back and insisted to leave the extra boxes in the front so I don't have to wait around. By that time, my mind was blown away!! Two floor reps acknowledged me without asking for help in the span of 15 minutes?? Damn, I feel special AF. I then proceeded to the register and the register lady was cool and exchanged one item for me without a receipt. Thanks for making that easy! Finally, two cool guys, Eronn and MeiAndre waited until I finished with the purchase and pushed my heavy cart to my car. Can I just say, these guys were cool and were super helpful!!! Thanks so much! I know this review may seem long but I felt documenting my experience in this detail is warranted. The minute that I walked into F&D and left, the experience E2E was out of this world. Last summer, I had my primary bathroom remodeled. I agreed to provide tile and flooring. My contractor suggested I go to Floor & Decor in San Leandro. Wow! A huge assortment and lots of nice people to help. And the prices were much less than I budgeted for. I made a complementary appointment with Rashmeet who helped me figure out a grout color for the marble walls and more importantly, the shower floor tile. My contractor picked up the bulk of the materiel I had purchased but there were incidentals that required me to return to the store three early evenings in a row. Boris became my new best friend. He actually moved 15 curbs (made of marble and 6' long) so I could find 4 that I liked. He was super patient and sweet. Numerous times, Aaron carefully packed my car with my purchases and when I had a large return, came out to get them out of my car for me. Nacho took the time to go above and beyond to explain things to me while also checking me out of the store. After waiting on hold for quite a while a great customer service lady named Savina turned it all around. She's amazing. She was multi tasking while helping me with my order on the phone.... So many times at these big box stores people just don't understand how important customer service is. This San Leandro location is lucky to have her. I had everything lined up and they never processed the order. Good thing I called and good thing they have an employee like her on board or I would've been inclined to shop somewhere else in the future. Beware of their hidden return policies! It is very inconsistent even at the store manager level. For instance, I had purchased individual tiles and back splash tiles. After my installation was completed and had some remaining unused tiles and unused and unopened back splash tiles, I went back to this store to return them. The store manager there refused to take it back because of the following reasons: - The item was discontinued in their store and informed me to go to another location who has the item in stock. - The number of tiles can only be accepted in a same amount in box. I had 13 unused tiles left but they can only accept 10 because the box amount is 10. (Remember that I had purchased individual pieces and not in boxes) They do not follow their return policies and add additional store rules. This is a review for Floor & Decor Designer Julie Tibbs. As I was wandering aimlessly, she asked if she could help me, and had no idea what she was getting into! She graciously answered my millions of questions, including: - How do I choose grout color for my tile? (Look at samples next to your tile, and keep in mind that it will darken over time.) - Is tile the right answer for a kitchen that periodically floods? (Yes, and make sure to get the grout that is both mold resistant and waterproof.) - What do I use for bullnose on a step and to replace quarter-round at the wall? (Look at her trim samples and choose the style that will work best.) - How do I think about underfloor heating? (You'll likely want a programmable thermostat. Think about what areas really need to be warm. Don't, for example, heat beneath appliances.) - And so many more. Not sure how I lucked out to meet Julie that day, but apparently you can book appointments with her! (Btw we are still in Covid days as I write this. My Wife and I went to the San Leandro store on 10/13/2022 to buy flooring for our whole house. We walked in and started to look around. After 20 minutes and no one asking to help us I went up front. It was about 5:30 and I asked for some help. I was told one person was on break and a lady at the cash register I am checking in a order and would be there shortly. NO ONE EVER CAME. I have 5 remodeling projects going on. I like the fact that Floor and Decor has a 90 day return policy since it most county's now take several weeks to issue the permits. One has to buy the materials before hand and keep it ready for the contractor and hence having more than 30 days to return items is a big factor. The staff is always courteous and very helpful. Not only is this store clean and well organized, it is also easily navigable. It was my first time doing any kind of remodel on my home and I have been completely lost as to what I should be looking for with materials and what not. The associates there went above and beyond to help me out, and even offered to load/unload my cart for me (I am 5 months pregnant). And a very special shout out to Joseph, who is one of the most helpful workers I have ever met in any retail setting. I did find that they were some pallets that were not available at the Milpitas store. But that can always be easily accommodated with them having it shipped to any location you need. I'm going to be nice and give you guys 2 stars. Although the purchasing and tile selection was extensive and easy, I will say their return policy is not. I was remodeling my bathrooms and bought tile. I tend to overbuy as I think it's better to have more materials than less and then having to scramble if the product runs out. So my contractor installs the tiles and we tried to return the leftover. We did not return the tile months later, but only 2 weeks later from purchase. They said they cannot take it back. Why? Because they can deny a return even though it's not stated in their policy. I had my receipt and everything. So now I'm stuck with hella leftover tile because they refused to take it back. Sometimes it's just better to go to a store that has a clear cut policy (ahem Home Depot) and don't give you the runaround. I purchased tile here and my installer was more efficient with his cutting and we ended up with a full box of tiles that we did not need. When I went back to the store to return them, they did not have my Wife or my phone number in the system. I had lost my paper receipt in the madness of our kitchen renovation, so I did not have the transaction number either. If you find yourself in a similar situation, you're screwed. Their system cannot find your past orders without your phone number. Regardless of the fact that I have the: - Purchase Date - Credit Card used for the purchase I acknowledge that this is my fault for not holding onto that receipt like it's my driver's license, but come on. In this day and age when everything is digitally recorded, your company can't find my purchase with my credit card used? That is ridiculous.
