White Honey
Christine W.

The restaurant looked okay, a little dingy and small, but this was some of the best pizza I've ever had! Definitely try the white pizza with honey and cheese. The pepperoni and sausage was good, too. The pepperonis were crispy and savory. The pizza crust was sublime--perfectly crispy and thin. Service was good!

Standard, good quality pizza spot in Crown Heights. La Flor is popular, with pizza trays empty from hungry customers throughout the night. We ordered custom pizza to go. While it's what you expect for a pizza of that sort, something you crave on a chill night in, it was a little on the pricier side. It's not crazy, but comparing the 35 to a full pizza at lindustrie with burrata for 38 hmm. The garlic knots were garlicky although slightly undercooked and doughy inside. The shop is small and quite smoky, but there's a couple of chairs outside. Overall, it's a solid spot for crown heights and if you're nearby, get some to go!

Amazing pizza in a cute little pizza shop on the boarder of crown heights and prospect heights. All the pizza is great, though the plain cheese is always a good option. Service is friendly and quick! A lovely local pizza spot to pick up a slice

Absolutely delicious authentic NY slices! We were looking for a good pizza spot in Brooklyn and La Flor completely blew us away. When we stopped in on a late Friday night, there weren't very many slices left available for purchase, but we were still able to try their cheese, pepperoni, pepperoni/sausage, and spicy hawaiian slices. Each slice was about $3-4 each, which is pretty reasonable in my opinion. They all came out hot and were absolutely delicious. The dough and the cheese especially are what make this pizza stand out to me - such a unique flavor/consistency that you can only find in little NYC/NJ pizzerias like this. My only complaint is that this place is very small, so it's not a very dine-in experience, but most people here seem to take their pizza to-go anyways. If I lived in the area I'd definitely be back!

I was sad when my neighborhood pizza shop closed but now I'm ecstatic that it was replaced with yet another pizza spot! These are damn good slices of pizza with the perfect doughy crust and great sauce. The pineapple and jalapeños slice? Obsessed. Mushroom slice? So good, will probably get it every time. Plain? Excellent! The three slices were $15. I like that there's a variety of drinks, which the previous spot lacked. La Flor is not the "classic" cheesy slice you might think of when you think of an NY slice, so if that's what you're looking for, go elsewhere.

Amazing new option in an area that needs a great option, definitely go here for some of the best slices in Brooklyn. The owner was formerly at Upside Pizza, but the pizza here is very different. There is much less cheese than usual, and the dough is crisp with nearly no flop. The classic cheese ($3.50) or the Pepperoni, Jalapeño & Ranch ($5) are both a must, but don't be afraid to try the Pineapple & Capicola. The Pepperoni Stromboli ($8) is also amazing, so you really can't go wrong here.

Good NY style pizza maybe on the pricey side. Would go again if nearby. Employee was nice and the seating is mostly outside but on a nice day that's ok!

Pepperoni jalapeno ranch

Pepperoni jalapeño ranch slice is one of the best I've ever had in NYC. I had one of the slices reheated and cold and they were just as equally good. The dough here is top tier and is definitely the best slice on the West side of Crown heights.

Hawaiian minus the ham .

Took myself out of my way to try this restaurant only to be sorta let down . The tomato sauce was too thick and tasted more like a paste and was closer to a tart-ish flavor than something savory that blends with the rest of the pizza . It's surely something that's very noticeable and not in a good way . What was the bigger let down was the chewiness of the crust . It was a notch or two too chewy and I had to really bite in hard to tear it apart . The pizzas I tried were the mushroom and the Hawaiian minus the ham . The better was definitely the mushroom but overall in the grand scope of pizza shops in nyc, it's just average imo .

Mushroom basil, red onion pizza slice. If you're a shroom lover, you'll love it.

The guy serving the pizza was super friendly. I had an amazing slice of mushroom pizza and he told me to go next-door and I can get a beer. It was a five dollar slice and friendly people in the neighborhood. You can sit outside and people watch. Perfect place after going to the Brooklyn Museum and seeing #Solid Gold. Loving it but not in a McDonald's way!

Sausage pep slices and a C-0

Great pizza, perfect crust, ever-so-sweet sauce. Quiet little joint to grab a quick slice of takeout. Quick and friendly service. 6 or so slice options when I dropped in for lunch

I had a cheese slice. The crust on this pizza was the best. Crispy thin but not too thin still with a slight chew. It was delicious.

Arguably the best slice in the neighborhood. White slices seem pretty common here. New management, good look. Give them your cash.

I tried looking up this pizza from Target Richfield for a review, but it sent me to the NYC location, so forgive me if this review is in the wrong thread. Anyway, wow. I've been to New York City and ate at the original Joe's Pizza. What an epic slice of pizza. Now back home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the great white north of snow that never ends, I finally tried the frozen Di Fara pepperoni pizza from Target no less. Sorry Joe's, but this is on par with your pizza (if it was frozen). Dave Portnoy was right with his high review. This pizza is very good. The thick cut pepperoni, great basil, and the crisp chewy crust was excellent for a frozen pizza. Nice under carriage as well. I cooked the pizza at 480 degrees in an electric pizza oven for 10 minutes, and the result was very good. I added a drizzle of hot honey, and it was spectacular (okay, I also added some fresh picked jalapeños as well). The pizza was hot and melted in the center, and the crust was very crisp, but still had some chew. Wow. This was the best frozen pizza I have had. Bar none. New York, you spoiled me when it came to pizza. Now I can get a taste of New York at home. Great job! I may or may not eat the last 3 pieces currently sitting in the fridge before bed.

We ordered a whole pie half plain and half pepperoni, which is only $2.50 more. What I notice right away is the zesty tomato sauce, which Has love. However, I must admit that the crust was a bit too hard for my taste. Yes! It was crispy, but biting through it was somewhat difficult. Overall a good slice, but maybe the dough was off a bit that day. Regardless, Luigi's Pizza is an institution and I will be back again next time I'm in the area. Also- the Spumoni- it keeps at a nice consistency in the freezer, unlike rubbish American ice cream- which gets like a rock. The only other Spumoni I buy is from Corona. They're both phenomenal in their respective rights. When asked by non-NY'ers which pizza is my favourite- this is number one for Sicilian- not heavy at all. The crust is light, airy, and flavourful. Fresh mozzarella, a nicely thin crisped crust, sweet tomato sauce, and fresh basil makes this simple pizza taste great. The fried calamari also impressed. It tasted notably fresh--light, clean, and not overly chewy like pre-frozen versions can sometimes be. While I can't say for certain, it had that just-prepared quality that makes a difference. The Caprese salad was a great way to start the meal, with fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata, and a balsamic drizzle was a nice light start. The atmosphere leans old-school Italian, which adds to the charm and character. Service was fine--nothing remarkable, but no major issues either. That said, my overall rating takes a big hit solely for the restaurants ridiculous tipping policy choices rather than the food itself. The automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill was frustrating. The menu does indicate that 18%, will automatically apply, or will be 20% for parties of six or more. We were only three people, so it felt inconsistent and unnecessary. On top of that, the added cost for credit card usage didn't help. I don't mind tipping for good service! In fact, I tip well--but I prefer having the choice and I'm old school so it's the principle of the matter. Being forced into it, takes away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Bottom line: the food is strong and worth trying, but the billing practices leave a bad taste. If those were adjusted, this could easily be a higher-rated experience.
