Le Grande BLT - Lunch
Andrea L.

Wanted a quick lunchtime snack on a Monday and therefore decided to stop here. You order at the counter and they give you a number to take to your table. We had the avocado toast and was pleasantly surprised it had so many good topics besides smashed avocado! Also had the grilled cheese + tomato basil soup as well as the BLT + potato soup - both combinations were filling and flavorful! Perfect for a quick lunch, meetup with friends, or work/study space with good food and drink options!

Great experience here at their RDU location. Friendly service. Good coded and decent Bloody Mary. Enjoyed my croque madam. Reasonably priced despite the airport location!

Croque Monsieur - Brunch

What a great little French bistro in Raleigh-Durham Airport! You can order and take-out or have table service. I ordered the Croque Monsieur. The bread was fresh and tasty and the sandwiches contents were delicious. The workers there are friendly and accommodating. Even their corporate office is great. I left without an itemized receipt to present for my company expense report. I emailed and asked and they sent it to me right away. Great location to catch a meal when you're at the airport to catch a flight!

I was so amazed at this bakery. I went for the white chocolate bread, but I wanted to get so much more. There were so many options to choose from. I was so intrigued by all things they make. I got my white chocolate bread and a raspberry beignet. Both were so good! I do wish they were warm, but it was still good. The cashier answered all the questions I had. I can't wait to go back down and go.

This feedback is related to a gift card with $25 balance that was rejected at the store at the corner of High House and Cary Pkwy. I gave my daughter this card and she tried to use it but was told it could not be used because either it was expired or had no balance. She even showed them the site showing the balance on her phone. She had to pay from her own funds even though she only went there because of the gift card. I just checked during this writing and the web site shows a balance of $25. I have also sent 2 emails via their web site and have not received any response. So now I feel like La Farm has stole money from me. The back of the card clearly states "No expiration dates or services fees." So, not a pleasant experience, I feel robbed, and now I don't feel like going to La Farm or recommending them.. Moral of the story, don't buy gift cards from La Farm.

Consistency of service & food has decreased a bit in the last few years. It is still a good place to go, but requires a bit of extra Grace & patience :) Went by to get a Pimento Cheese sandwich & was told they don't have in the kitchen. I've been ordering this for over 10 years & today, Alice told me they don't keep this in the kitchen. Oh well... it used to be one of my favorites. On the positive, they have gazpacho back for July.

Ordered an iced Latte with Almond Milk at Rdu location. All I got was iced whole milk. Girl had an attitude after the customer in front of me wanted iced coffee no milk and told her that they don't make it that way. Say what? I just wanted coffee in mine! $7.50 down the tubes!

Spinach feta baguette and ham and cheese croissant
Julia W.

I got the spinach and feta baguette, and the ham & cheese croissant. Both were packed with flavor and delicious. My only complaint is that we asked for them to be heated up, and they did not heat them up until they were warm. They were still cold when we ate them. I would still come back for the great coffee and pastries though!

Pear tart

Outstanding bakery w french pastry. The place is spacious and has plenty of seatings. They offer a wide variery of bread, sandwiches and sweet treats. They also have coffee and tea. I love their pastries so much that I returned the day after to try some more. Their pear ricotta cake was unique and very refreshing. The creame brulee tart is also one of a kind. Everything I tried has the perfect level of sweetness which is rare to find in the US. Service was quick and friendly. Will def return when I have a chance.

Do they serve tarts?

Do they take reservations?

You can reserve the back room for events, but otherwise they don't it is just counter service.

What products have peanuts in it and how do you handle peanut cross contamination?

I think you should ask LaFarm directly and call them

Do they serve english fruit scones with clotted cream and jam?

Unfortunately no clotted cream and jam but their fruit scones and chocolate chip scones are delicious

Are there any Gluten Free options (cross-contamination is of course a no brainer in a Bakery)?

Yes there are gluten free options! Macaroons and desserts and I believe some bread options too!

Are there any vegan options in the cafe?

Yes. Very few but good options

Do they offer any sugar-free items?

There are a few technically sugar-free things (eg, salads). But it's a bakery - the nirvana of simple carbohydrates and glycogen spikes. And sugar is a basic ingredient to bread (it feeds the yeast when proving the dough). Good luck telling your… Read more

So we pulled off, took out the trusty Yelp app, and this place popped up. Pulling it, it was clear that they were popular and busy. We went in and there was a wait, about 15 minutes. We decided to hang around instead of worrying about "making good time" and are glad we did. Once we got a seat, we received great service. Our server always kept our drink full, and checked on us just enough. We never felt like we were searching for her. Looking at the menu, I was surprised to see that the prices were not unreasonable, even though it's a very trendy place. in fact, they had a $10ish lunch menu available with a few selections that even included a drink. I was more in a lunch mood so I went that direction, and got a buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. Food came out hot and in a reasonable time even with a full restaurant, so this is a well oiled machine. For the price, I was pretty impressed. I would say the sandwich was about the size of your average CFA chicken sandwich, but had a bold buffalo flavor that I liked a lot. They didn't skimp on the fries, and the ranch complemented it perfectly. We finished up and our server was on top of things getting us the check, so really we still made "good time" on our drive to the coast. I would recommend Brunches to travelers and locals alike!

Unfortunately, we forgot to take photos of the Breakfast Tacos and the All American, but everything was absolutely delicious. Overall, this was a 10/10.

The hotel property is charming and thoughtfully designed, with a mix of tables, sofas, and comfortable chairs that create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. We arrived 3/4 past noon and chose to sit in the study/library area rather than the main dining room. I would strongly recommend this option. The study is quiet and comfortable, while the main restaurant area was noticeably louder. The proximity allows you to enjoy the ambiance without the noise. The menu offerings felt fairly typical for this style of restaurant. We tried the skillet cornbread. It was served room temperature and on the dry side. However, the whipped butter that accompanied it was excellent. Unfortunately, the cornbread was not warm enough to melt it, which would have improved the experience. The Italian wedding soup was very good and served properly hot. We also ordered the local lettuces salad with chicken. The salad itself was fresh, but the chicken was visibly dry and tasted the same. Interestingly, placing the chicken into the soup made it more enjoyable. The double cheeseburger was average. The bun struggled to hold together under the two patties and cheese. The flavor was acceptable but not memorable. Our server was exceptional. Attentive, professional, and gracious throughout the meal. The service elevated the the mediocre experience. Overall, Peck & Plume offers a beautiful setting and excellent service. For a quieter meal, request the study/library seating. While the food was satisfactory, it did not quite match the charm of the surroundings. Would we go again? Maybe. If we did, we would order different items. But, we would request Brian as the server.

It's been an interesting journey--because while I absolutely respect the tradition, my palate has definitely evolved over the years toward lighter, more elevated, visually beautiful food. That said, sometimes you just have to lean in and experience the classics. Tupelo Honey had been on my list for a while, so during a recent work trip to Raleigh-Durham, I decided to check it off. The location is in a very nice, upscale area--one of those shopping districts where, if you see a Whole Foods nearby, you know the neighborhood is going to be polished, safe, and easy to navigate. Parking was simple in a lot across the street, and since I had a reservation, I was seated quickly on the patio, which was lovely and comfortable. For starters, I ordered the "biscuits for a cause," which is a nice touch knowing the proceeds support employee relief and development funds. They were warm and classic Southern biscuits--exactly what you'd expect. For my entrée, I went with the honey-dusted fried chicken (dark meat), a true Southern staple. It was well prepared, flavorful, and satisfying, especially if you're in the mood for something hearty and traditional. I also tried a cocktail called "The Debutante," which was pleasant and refreshing, and finished the meal with the butter pecan cheesecake for dessert. Overall, the meal was good--solid, reliable Southern comfort food--but if I'm being completely honest, it wasn't particularly memorable for me. I was traveling for work and dining on a per diem, so it checked the box for a dependable dinner in a convenient location. As a larger regional chain, it feels a bit like a rite of passage when you're spending time in the Southeast--something you try once to understand the landscape. Bottom line: Tupelo Honey delivers classic Southern comfort food in a polished, accessible setting. Service was smooth, the patio was pleasant, and everything was executed well. For me personally, it was a good experience--but not one I'd necessarily go out of my way to repeat. Still, as I continue eating my way through the Carolinas and beyond, I'm glad I gave it a try.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted promptly and served with genuine kindness. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. It feels like the kind of place where you can slow down, sit across from someone you love, and actually enjoy your coffee. We ordered an espresso, a latte, a chocolate croissant, and a lemon pastry. Everything was fresh. The croissant had crisp, flaky layers on the outside and a soft, buttery texture inside. The lemon pastry was bright and balanced, not overly sweet. The espresso was strong and smooth. The latte was well crafted and comforting. Service was quick without feeling rushed. The space was clean. The overall experience was simple and well done. If you are in downtown and want good coffee, fresh pastries, and attentive service, Once in a Blue Moon Bakery and Café is worth your visit. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will return. On the positive side, the flavors themselves were solid overall. The icing was tasty, and while the cake was decent, it leaned a bit dry, which was already giving us pause given this was meant to showcase their best work. What really ended the conversation for us was a major quality issue. Two of the icing sample balls each had a very long hair in them. It was immediately noticeable and extremely off-putting. At that point, we lost confidence and couldn't bring ourselves to continue sampling, let alone consider trusting them with something as important as a wedding cake. Between the dryness of the cake and the hair issue, we ultimately decided to go in a different direction. Not terrible flavor-wise, but the experience as a whole was disappointing and fell short for such a high-stakes purchase.
