This place has the best crawfish in the area. The meat is very soft, and the cajun sauce is delish. Last year, the crawfish were huge. The second time I went, the crawfish weren't as big. It must be a seasonal thing. Highly recommend it. read more

Yum on the crawfish pho. I am not the biggest fan of crawfish in general. A lot of work for minimal satisfaction. My aunt had the crawfish and felt like it was a little bit salty for her but that was the only complaint. The crawfish itself was pretty big. I have gone back several times for the pho. read more

First of all, what happened LA Crawfish?!? I remember the garlic butter crawfish use to be so good and full of thick garlicky goodness. Well, today I came back to satisfy that craving and was so terribly disappointed :( 95% of the crawfish was mushy and breaking apart when you try to peel it. Some were even rubbery. A big handful of my crawfish were black when peeled (see pictures)!! I usually love to eat the claws and suck the head filled with good flavor, but today, oh my gosh, it was pretty bad. The meat, claws, and juices in the head tasted super fishy like dead crawfish today. The garlic butter flavor did not seep into the meat at all like it used to. The sauce use to be super flavorful, reddish, thick and filled with garlic, but today it just looked like dirty water. I understand it's the end of the season, but the quality today was truly unacceptable. I didn't even finish my crawfish because it was that bad. Really disappointed I wasted my time and money here today :( I don't know what's going on, but I hope the food gets back to what it used to be! read more

LA Crawfish - See those pieces in the back? Most of my crawfish were mushy and peeled into broken pieces. - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Houston, Texas

My new crawfish joint. Order the garlic butter crawfish. Don't bother with cajun flavor. If you want a lot of flavor, make sure to get at least the spicy version of the Garlic butter. The crawfish here are a pretty good size. And they are always 5.99/lb. Try it. It's sooo good! read more

I thought the butter and garlic crawfish was the best out of the sweet and sour and cajun. Don't waste your time with the others. The cajun style shrimp is very tasty. Get the melted butter and dip everything in there to increase the taste. read more

Owner is super friendly. Tasty and crispy wings. 50 cent wings on Sunday and Monday. I had spicy garlic and lemon pepper. Sweet potato fries were tasty too. I'll be back for wings. Next time I will have try the pho which looks well priced read more

Crawfish is overcooked and does not have a balance of seasoning. Used to be my favorite place for crawfish but perhaps due to the crowd of customers, the cooking and quality control is not consistent. Hope they get their acts together and bring back the crawfish I endear in the past :( read more

Order blue crab to go last night and it was below my expectation. $5 each crab is on the high end of market price and they are just too plain without much flavor read more

Great seafood, the pho was great also. Mix the butter with the Cajun seasoning make sure you check in for the discount. The environment is so casual and comfortable. This restaurant stays busy and with good reason. The condiments aren't necessary but they add a kick especially the butter and the Cajun seasoning. I will definitely be back! read more

First time here and was not let down! Crawfish was full of flavor. I recommend the cajun style seasoning! Great food and family atmosphere!

I've finally had a chance to try out LA Crawfish. I was interested in their Crawfish Pho, and I must say that I really enjoyed this fusion! I also ordered their chicken wings, which I thought were cooked perfectly and not drenched in grease as you'd find at other places. Their dessert fries (aka beignet fries) were delicious! A perfect ending to our meal. I can't wait until I'm back in town to try out their crawfish by the pound. What tops it off is their EXCEPTIONAL service. I'd definitely recommend this place. =) read more

Always loved the place we come here religiously for the crawfish mix. We think the staff is great and the food never lets me down.

So LA crawfish in 99 Ranch has been one of my favorite places in the past years but lately it's hit or miss. Today they missed horribly! Enough for me to install this app to make a review. The crawfish was awfully bland (ordered both the garlic butter and Cajun style both spicy) and way overcooked to the point where the crawfish was dry. Tasted as if It was in the microwave for too long. Not freshly boiled at all!! There was no head sucking (no pun intended) due to how dry it was. It saddens me that This will be my last time here and definitely never recommending anyone here ever again. Wish I could give zero stars. read more

I went there last night for the first time. First of all, to my surprise, this is not a free standing restaurant.- it occupies some space in a large oriental market--very limited seating. The big disappointment was that the crawfish were not nearly as large as shown in the photos on the Yelp website. These were strictly mixed, small & medium. I had two pounds and counted four large crawfish in the batch, but no jumbos. The pricing was just about the same as most of the nice free standing seafood restaurants in the West part of town. I also tried their hard shell blue crab- found them good size and the spices added a nice zing. I will go back, but will call first to see if they actually get in the larger crawfish. read more

Ordered 2 lbs of crawfish to go for lunch today since I was already in the market. Got home and these taste like frozen crawfish. This is the second time that this has happened at this location. Another indication that these had been frozen was the fact that about a quarter of the 2 lbs. were broken off claws. If crawfish are fresh I normally can eat the claw meat but these were all dried out and poor texture. There are much better places in this town for crawfish than this place. There is no excuse for frozen this time of year and if they are not frozen then they were cooked way ahead of time and allowed to sit before someone orders them. They did come out about two minutes after I ordered them. Either way, buyer beware. read more

I prefer good Cajun style crawfish which is soak the crawfish in the spice and then serve but this is the best Asian style crawfish (toss in spice mix after cooking). So when I want crawfish but don't feel like cooking it myself, this is my go to place. I like the blue crab and shrimp too. The garlic noodles are also very good. read more

This place used to be ok but now the crawfish are scooped from a large bucket or something that resemble a bucket and are soft and soggy. Sorry LA I used to love Y'alls bugs! The bugs are already cooked and not made to order anymore. They are just not the same. Take the advice however you would like :) read more

This review is strictly based off their crawfish. I've tried them twice and with all their great reviews I wish I could like these guys but I didn't. The garlic butter crawfish which they recommended was the people's choice was lacking in flavor. I felt like they boiled their crawfish and submerged them in the garlic butter liquid. Our bag of crawfish had so much liquid and the flavor really just didn't stay on. Their cajun flavored crawfish, I thought was a grade better than their garlic butter. It had more flavor but I've honestly tasted better. Their price for crawfish is cheap though, $5.99 so great price! read more

Jeremy Lin. Uh. Jeremy Lin? Um.... Jeremy Lin!!! Oh I can't just write Jeremy Lin as my review? In that case, I have to say we mainly came here because my #ManCrushEveryday is Jeremy Lin (circa 2010, baby! before Linsanity). This place is inside of a supermarket (99 Ranch) which has got to be one of the cleanest Asian supermarkets I've seen. When you walk into, it didn't STANK which I was fondly amused of. LA Crawfish sits alongside a Vietnamese banh mi/pho place and a Korean soft tofu shop. There, you can order crawfish pho which seemed pretty cool to me but we wanted the main contender: crawfish. We ordered it at $6.99 a pound (cheaper than Charlotte) with an extra of corn. Came out right away, within a 1 minute of ordering. While I enjoyed the fastness of it, the corn obviously wasn't cooked in the broth/sauce so there was no flavor to the corn. The sauce itself was great, not too soupy (we both got garlic butter). I will have to try the other places in Houston for comparison but overall, it was good. Plus I got to sit where Jeremy Lin placed his butt. C'mon now. The staff there were so nice after learning how much of a crush I had on J. Lin. Le sigh. read more

This place use to be ok but now it's just not good anymore. The crawfish meat is bland in flavor and off flavor but the outer shell is really spicy with garlic butter. I went today and I think they used frozen crawfish cuz it didn't taste fresh and seemed to be all dead before it was cooked. The pho itself was bland no matter how much hoisin sauce i put. Then it only had one size which was a large and it was $6.99 for ONE choice of meat and to add type of meat costed $2.99 so total was $10 for a bowl of pho when usually you can just get a special with all types of meat for about $7. I've never paid this much for pho. Will not return read more

Walked into this location and went to wash my hands before I ordered my food and was very disappointed. I noticed roaches everywhere. I did not bother to stay and eat obviously but wanted to make sure that anyone eating here does so at their own risk. read more

Very limited menu, they didn't even have crawfish etouffee!. The crawfish empenadas were hard, small, and lacked filling and expensive relatively speaking. The gumbo has crab shell in it and was okay. The other stuff inside 99 looked waaay better. I supplemented with a orange/ginger/carrot juice from the juice bar around the corner - that was delicious! read more

So sad. We've been talking about trying this place for awhile. We finally made it tonight, and we were craving crab. We were super happy to discover Tuesday's are blue crabs for $2.22 apiece. We ordered 6 blue crabs and a pound of snow crab. The snow crab was ok, but the blue crabs were terrible! We even threw 2 away. Crazy! We found then to be strangely bland even though we ordered some Cajun style and some garlic butter. The texture wasn't good either. My Louisiana born wife wasn't happy - and if there's crab leftover when we're eating it, you know there's something wrong! read more

I love this place is so they will even cook anything u bring em I bring all my employees there and we have a good time

Come because you have a crawfish addiction not because you want the best crawfish. This place is always going to be popular because it has crawfish year round. The flavor is amazing, especially the garlic butter. The actual crawfish quality is up and down, offseason you can't really ask much from frozen crawfish. During the season, it isn't as fresh or large as other places that cater to the crawfish boil season. But for a year round crawfish place, this is the one and only place you need to go to. BYOB is always a plus! friendly staff! read more

Save your money and go somewhere else. We got the spicy Cajun and it was flavorless. Many of the crawfish were crushed, small and too soft. It's like they cooked them too long. The potatoes were undercooked and no refills on drinks. A can of soda was $1.50. Super disappointed, never coming again. read more

Quality of food went down hill due to new management. First off the Crawfishes are not fresh even though it's in season. Second, the place is filthy. Found roaches. I'll never go BK here again read more

My family, my friends, and I have been coming here since they first opened. As a fellow Coog, I am supportive of their business! This season has been a bit of a let down for me, however. I have been there twice this season and the crawfish, for some reason, were not as large as the previous years. They were medium sized at best. Also, a lot of them - the heads - tasted muddy. (ok I know they live in mud, but still...) The garlic butter flavor, always our favorite, has been inconsistent with the taste as well as the amount of the sauce in the bag. Sometimes I'd get LOTS of garlic (which I like), and sometimes it's nowhere to be found and the flavor was almost bland. And the medium spiciness was not spicy at all. Why? My friend said the same thing. I will give them the benefit of the doubt though, maybe they ran out of the sauce. My friend ordered the potatoes and they were so tiny I couldn't believe it. A large chuck was missing from one of the potatoes so they got 3/4 of the potato...that was already small to begin with. But, they made up with the HUGE blue crab. They were so tasty and meaty. That actually saved the day. I am not sure why the quality went down, maybe it was the too many customers demanding crawfish and they start to cut corners, maybe the crawfish were unhappy this season and didn't want to grow any bigger...Like i said, I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I will return hoping that it would be better. If it doesn't get better, then I will probably find another place which is a shame because I live 8 mins from them. read more

This is great place to grab crawfish, buy drinks and any snacks at the supermarket and them pig out in front of plenty of bystanders. The garlic sauce is akin to Jolynn's crawfish if you have had theirs before. It is a slightly sweet and incredibly garlicky. read more

I don't come to LA Crawfish too much. I hear they have absolutely fantastic crawfish, but I just can't seem to find a good time. I did however stop in for some pho the other day! It had a great flavor. Everything I love in a bowl of pho, except for the pools of fat on top of the broth. It wasn't as bad as some I've had, but it had more than it should have. Since it's not their core menu item, I'm not really surprised, and it did have a great flavor. At the moment though, I will be leaving them with a rating of 3, solely based on the pho. After I go for some of the core menu, the crawfish and other seafood - I'll update my review. read more

Order LA Pho for lunch yesterday. Last night on the toilet most of the night and this morning continued. The Pho was good. But certainly I would bit go back for the PHo again. I had the crawfish there and it was good with no issues. But the Pho something was wrong that food. Stay away from it read more

Not as oily as it was the next time I went with my parents. Very happy about this! Will see if it stays this way. :)

Crawfish flavor was really good. The Pho was decent, but not my fav in town... Plus they were out of bean sprouts so that was a bummer. Get there early, parking is tough at peak lunch times read more

I was pleasantly surprised that LA Crawfish did a great job. The mugbugs were perfectly seasoned with spicy garlic butter, and their sausages were good too. I will definitely go again. read more

I heard a lit about this place. Since I was shopping at 99 ranch, I thought I'd get some to go. If I had known it tasted this great, I would have eaten it there. Best crawfish ever. Having grown up in southeast Texas and attended many crawfish festivals and boils - this was the best. Not salty. Flavorful. The right amount if heat. You don't have to waste your time with corn and potatoes. I highly recommend. The lady at the counter was very nice, too. Will go back very soon. read more

Tried the five spice & basil wings, beignet fries, and both the Cajun spice and the garlic flavored crawfish. Loved it all! Crispy wings, flaky beignets that aren't too sweet, and really juicy crawfish. read more

The crawfish was DELICIOUS. Wish I had gotten just normal oysters. Their flavored ones were a little too salty for me. Would definitely come back. read more

Second best place I've been at for crawfish! It was busy but I got my food before I even finished paying. It may be the spiciest I've had also. A little less "juicer" than my number one spot but I will definitely be back. Wish the had a soda machine but with the grocery store there it's not that big of a deal. read more

Frozen/dead crawfish! Used to love this place, not sure what happened to it. Got 5lbs of crawfish last night, had maybe 5 pieces that didn't taste and peel like it was previously frozen. Highly disappointed, will not comeback. Sad to see a once solid crawfish place go down. read more
