I came to Houston really wanting to eat Viet-Cajun food and as luck would have it, it was prime crawfish season. I worried at first because only after I arrived here did I realize my local foodie friend had vehemently recommended a different place with a similar name, and that I mistakenly brought my group here, to the place with the lesser star rating. Fortunately everything turned out just fine. What we wanted: crawfish, crab, noodles, pho, fried rice, and non seafood items for one person in our group, and they had all of the above. Our non-seafood eating friend had the fish sauce wings, and the rest of our group feasted on pounds of crawfish, crab, crawfish fried rice, and pho. The sauce on the crawfish was addictive, and the crawfish itself was very succulent. I found the crab less fresh, and the crawfish fried rice too salty. But everything was edible. This place gets bonus points because we were struggling to open the crab legs with just scissors because we're used to using a metal cracking tool, but our server initially walked us through the proper use of scissors but went ahead and just cut all our crab legs open for us when we looked at him with puzzled faces after his demonstration. We easily got a table for 8 as walk-ins, but the space filled up quickly as the evening progressed, so I'd recommend reservations to be safe.
While in Houston I had to checkout some Viet-Cajun. I'm here for all the spice and the flavor combo was on point at crawfishandnoodles. The garlic butter noodles with slightly crispy finish brought it all home. Definitely would come back and try more options.
I fear this place may have fallen off.. First of all, having to pay $1-2 extra per corn/small potato is mad stingy. I've never seen a crawfish boil place do that. Also needing to ask for bibs/gloves at a crawfish place where those things are necessary didn't sit well with me. The sauce itself was pretty good; I like how they had sauce on the seafood as well as extra dipping sauce.
Crawfish & noodles was disappointing to say the least. The crawfish was bland that we had to request extra sauce on the side. We got the Viet Cajun medium spicy which leaned more on the mild side. It tasted okay once we were able to dip it in the concentrated sauce. The oysters were good I will give them that. Service was subpar. They juggle around waiters so you don't have a designated person taking care of your table. Because of this, 3 of our orders were mixed up and we had to ask twice to confirm if they were on their way. We didn't receive our orders of chicken wings or quail until we had already finished our food! The waiter offered to pack them to-go since he noticed we were done eating. We also had to ask for every single utensil at separate times including spoons, forks, gloves, and bibs. You would think that if you ask for utensils they would bring what was needed for the food that was ordered.
Coming to Houston, we were so excited to try Viet-Cajun food. Especially at Crawfish and Noodles as one of the self-proclaimed pioneers of the cuisine in Houston. First off, the food was amazing. The shrimps were so big and juicy and the sauce paired so well with it. We also got the crawfish fried rice which was so good when dipped into the sauce. The viet flavors really came through with the strong spicy butter sauce and I was not disappointed on that front. The only criticisms I have is that the service here is really slow as it took a while for us to have our order taken and for water refills which is definitely needed for the spice levels of the sauce we got. As for the vibe of the restaurant itself, it felt very homey and cozy which I always love in an Asian restaurant. Even though the service wasn't the best, if that's the worst part of the experience then I can live with that.
Servers were friendly and checked on us often. Preferred regular seafood boil tbh. This was more in the lemony zesty side
Came to check out the original viet-cajun crawfish in Houston, and I thought that it was good, but it wasn't great. The crawfish were all big during the time of season I went, which is nice! I thought the sauce was too salty, and I definitely needed to drink a lot of water after. The service was great and all the staff are very friendly and welcoming!
This place is a great spot for viet cajun seafood. I got the crawfish with the viet Cajun style along with the snow crabs. The crawfish was huge! It was also very meaty and flavorful with the style. I got the butter sauce and the secret sauce comes with the snowcrab. It was all very good and a good amount of meat. It was cooked well and easy to peel. The cajun fries were also very good and crispy. It is on the pricier side of things. The staff was very nice and attentive and helpful when around. This is a very big space so you can come by yourself or a big group. They also serve Vietnamese food along with the usual seafood boil. The atmosphere is very causal and chill.
The service is okay the prices are pricey! So I needed to ask for gloves and bib that usually is given to you with the carb boil like experience. With the food everything was super huge!! I was impressed the shrimp was not headless. This is a place you need to know how to order and what to order! The crawfish looked good but they had a weight limit to purchase which was 2lbs minimum.
Went to crawfish and noodles in bellaire for the first time for my friend's surprise birthday. I was kinda surprised to see that the crawfish here was $14 a pound at the time, it was $3 cheaper a pound at crawfish cafe. The crawfish they had here was pretty big tho. I got a pound with viet Cajun seasoning and medium spice. Their medium spice is on the more spicy side tbh. Still enjoyed it overall.
It's finally crawfish season so decided to give this place a try. My partner and I came on a Friday night around 8:20pm and there was many people. The hostess put our names on the waitlist and was a 45min to 1hr 15min wait, which I'm not surprised at. But once our table was ready, we were quickly seated, and look at the menu. It does get super loud and crowded but isn't surprising. I got their Thai Tea for my drink and when it came out I was surprised how small it was and could have been a little sweeter. For food, I got 6lb of crawfish (viet-cajun style, w/ 2 potato & 2 corn which as at an extra cost), 6 Vietnamese Style Grilled Oysters, fish sauce chicken wings, and garlic noodles (which is on the secret menu, so definitely ask about that). The crawfish were a nice size, and cooked perfectly. But for some reason they got cold really quickly. I definitely recommend ordering them spicy as I made the mistake of ordering medium spicy level. Though I wished the viet-Cajun was a stronger and the corn was over cooked. The fish sauce chicken were really good, cooked perfectly, and covered the fish sauce! The Vietnamese style grilled oysters were okay, as they were grilled and tops to scallion oil, I'm not a big fan of oysters and they could have been a little bigger. The garlic noodles, were just ramen noodles that were stir fried in oil and garlic, nothing too special and I would have passed on it. Like every seafood place, gloves and bibs were provided. They did have latex gloves for an extra 75 cent and the bibs were made out of a felt material instead of the normal plastic which was nice. The staff were nice, friendly, and happily explained the menu. Though I notice that there no specific server for a certain section. This made it hard to get the staff attention and had to wave them down but it was a Friday night so understandable. Towards the end of the meal, the owner actually came out and went around the restaurant to talk to customers which was a surprise and nice. Overall, service was okay, food was good, and enjoyed my experience.

When I went inside, the first hostess told me she just wanted to see if I was still there and then immediately ran off around the restaurant, leaving the host stand. Meanwhile, the second host began seating other people who clearly had not been waiting as long as I had. After 1 hour and 10 minutes, I spoke up again and a third hostess told me the only way I could be seated was if I shared a table with strangers, which made no sense after waiting that long. When I declined, she said I would have to wait for a small table to be cleaned, even though every table was full and I was not given the option to sit at a larger table by myself. I ended up waiting an hour and a half total, and not a single small table opened during the extra 30 minutes I waited. During that time, I watched larger parties get seated ahead of me, and even saw a family of three sitting with nothing but water and empty plates while I was still waiting. What makes this worse is that this is not a five-star restaurant or some upscale place with private booths. It's a basic table-and-chair layout with tables packed inches apart, old chairs without armrests, and a center-floor seating style. There is nothing about the setup that justifies this level of disorganization or wait time. The check-in system is completely disorganized, the staff clearly cannot manage the flow of guests, and the service was extremely poor. It felt like the restaurant only cares about pushing as many people through as possible rather than treating customers fairly. Totally unacceptable experience.
This restaurant is lovely, well decorated with higher end finishings for a Viet Cajun restaurant. The menu is the most confusing thing and a guessing game to figure out pricing. I had to beg the waiter to explain it all. There's a standard menu, then a tiny wooden menu with market seafood prices. Then a huge colorful menu showing various food entrees. Crawfish was $14 a pound which was my first indication I needed to leave. It's currently 8-9 bucks everywhere else. I started with the salt & pepper "snow crab" which I thought came out beautifully only to discover the waiter placed an order for blue crab. Ok no problem but I definitely would've preferred snow as it's easier for me to get out of the shell. The entree comes with no type of sauce for dipping (everything is a la cart priced). I ask for butter, he brings me the Viet sauce which is subpar at best. And I'm charged MORE. AND Again, waiter error. Crawfish comes. And at $14 it's one dimensional, one flavor only. I've been boiling crawfish since I was a teenager. The crawfish is not purged properly nor do they allow it to soak in real seasonings. WHAT A SCAM!! I see the potential as I noticed many large Asian groups/families dining and if that works for them, then this restaurant isn't for me and that's ok. Service was good but also inadequate: multiple requests for things, then several individuals checking in on you but no one is actually completing the requests. An example is I never got soy sauce, 2-3 requests for silverware, two orders entered wrong, first order took 45 minutes to come out. $170 later...I won't be back.

A M B I A N C E came at opening around 1115am with a group of 4 F O O D garlic noodle combo pack 1 lb shrimp - comes w corn potato sausage - medium 1 lb crawfish + corn, potato - medium the sauce is fire. holy shit. they killed it. we just came for a little snack. we wanted more. everything was sauced perfectly. seafood cooked perfectly. wasnt overcooked and soggy and not hard to peel. girl everybody better come! we will 10/10 come back next time were in Houston mexican glass Coke lemonade, soda, salt, chanh muối S E R V I C E great service! friendly P A R K I N G ample P R I C E $50 + tip read more

I ordered the Viet Cajun Snow Crab with corn and potato, mild. The food was fresh and I haven't seen a snow crab that large since my last trip to Jamaica! I also ordered the "secret cocktail" which is a strawberry limeade flavored beverage with tequila base. Yummy! They were pretty busy but the service was good. I'll definitely be back! read more
One of the best crawfish spots in town! The crawfish are huge, delicious, and flavorful. The shrimp are just as wonderful. We were seated quickly and I'd recommended any of the wings but the fish sauce ones were amazing. The place is casual and comfortable with large table space to enjoy a variety of different plates. Obviously go for the crawfish and fresh seafood selection like the crab and shrimp. But it's definitely a good idea to try many of their sides as well. read more

Disappointed in our experience here. We had a raw piece of chicken and didn't notice until he was done eating the piece. We mentioned it to the server and he didn't do anything. The fried foods are not crispy at all, they could be fried for a bit longer. Customer service was bad from our server, we constantly had to flag him down. Never checked in on us. We asked for water and he never came and we had to ask the buss boy. read more

After hearing my coworkers talk about crawfish season during a meeting, I knew my friends and I had to get our grubby paws on some crawfish. It was a Saturday evening, so as expected, the restaurant was packed with hungry customers, but fortunately, service was pretty fast, and there was enough seating to go around! I ordered 1lb of the spicy Viet-Cajun flavored Crawfish, with Cajun fries as my side. This was my second time eating Crawfish, and honestly, SO delicious. The seasoning had a nice spicy kick, and wasn't too salty; so much effort into peeling the Crawfish for such tiny joy, but it was worth it. I must give accolades to the Cajun fries as well; I enjoyed them so much that I completely disregarded the ketchup they gave me. It had a good texture, and the portions were generous as well. While the meal wasn't the most filling, I was extremely satisfied and occasionally reminisce on coming back to eat here again. read more

I went here during coffee season and thought the crawfish was excellent. They were running a special that was by 5 pounds to get one for free. Crawfish was kind of pricey compared to other places, but the sizes were good and the flavor was good. We also got some noodles to share and some chicken wings. read more
This place was so good!! It satisfied my crawfish craving and I want to go again! I got viet cajun crawfish and shrimp and it was so yummy. The crawfish and shrimp were big and juicy. The fries were perfectly crispy and went so well with the seafood. The servers kept checking up on us even if they didn't have our table which I thought was very nice and thoughtful. It was a friday and was so busy but everything came out not too long. The ambiance was nice and family friendly as well. I will definitely be coming back here and trying the noodles and fried rice. 10/10 recommend!! read more

Only had a few day in Houston and I wanted to make sure I got some food here. I called and they had been out of blue crab and Dungeness crab. Cam made sure to remember me and give me a call when they got the new delivery so my wish would be a reality. He's great! Give him a raise or lots of tips. Alex and T Tran deserve the same. Awesome customer service and AMAZING FOOD. I got the blue crab with the crazy sauce and it was all fire! Would def return. read more

Craving Crawfish... But Left With Mixed Feelings I had been hearing a lot of buzz about this place and had a major craving for crawfish, so I finally decided to check it out on a Sunday evening. The wait wasn't bad, and the menu definitely got me excited. We ended up ordering 4 lbs of crawfish, but the waitress strongly suggested we go for 5 lbs to take advantage of their "buy 5, get 1 free" deal--sounded like a good idea at the time. We also ordered 2 lbs of shrimp, one corn, sausage, and a Cajun fry basket. I asked if the fry basket was enough for two people and was told, "Oh, it's plenty!"--but let me tell you, it's definitely a one-person portion. The shrimp came out first, served on a saucy plate with the corn and sausage. The sauce it was sitting in was absolutely delicious--the best part of the dish, hands down. There was also a small bowl of what I later found out was the "secret sauce." No one asked if I wanted this sauce or explained it came with an extra charge, so I was pretty surprised to see a $5 fee on the bill for it. That felt a little sneaky. The sausage was bland and tasted boiled, just sliced fancy--definitely nothing to write home about. The corn, though? Super flavorful. I liked it so much I ordered two more, even though they were small and a bit pricey (over a dollar each). As for the shrimp itself, it was a miss for me. Overcooked and hard to peel. The only thing that saved it was that tasty sauce it came in. The "secret sauce" everyone raves about? Meh, not worth the hype or the extra charge. The crawfish, thankfully, had a great flavor. Same goes for the Cajun fries--really tasty. Bonus points for the cool little robot that brought the fries to the table! That was a fun and unexpected touch. But after the food arrived, no one came by to check on us, and we actually needed a few things. Kind of disappointing service-wise. The biggest sticker shock came when the bill arrived. The 5 lbs of crawfish were $60--so I'm guessing that "free" pound was mostly the juice. Also surprising? No wet wipes or hand wipes offered, despite all the extra charges. They do provide gloves and a bib, which is nice, but still. All in all, I'm glad I gave it a try. The flavors were decent in parts, but between the unexpected charges, so-so service, and a few letdowns in the food, I don't think I'll be in a hurry to return. read more

Waited 40 minutes for a table but def worth the wait! It was def busy and you can see how everyone helps one another. The food was great, 20$ for 6wings is a bit over the top but can't complain. You def can see everyone helping from the back of the kitchen to the front! Got to see Bun B so that was a plus! Def would go back once crawfish get bigger! read more
The food here is so good! It's one of our favorite places in Chinatown. We used to go here a lot more a couple years ago but we live so far that we haven't had the chance to come. This particular visit we came with a few friends who have never been here before. They told us the wait was going to be 30-40 min. but we ended up getting seated fast. Super loud and packed inside this visit so we were pleasantly surprised. My friends ordered 2 lbs. of crawfish each, grilled oysters and shrimp and sausage. We all shared orders of fried rice and the wok egg noodles. Noodles were the best IMO. They were out of Dungeness crab which sucked because we were really looking forward to it so instead we ordered blue crab, one tamarind and one salt/pepper. They were both good, just a lot of work considering. The drink options are limited to beer/wine/sake. I ordered a sake flight but the server didn't even tell me which ones were which. I just received a surprised every time I drank a shot and half of them were not my forte. Our bill was a good $350 because they added gratuity for a party of 6. It was overall a good time. read more

My fiancé and I were watching YouTube videos and this place was at the top of our list for Cajun fusion food. The menu was easy to understand and had a large variety. We got the last Dungeness crab with the Viet Cajun sauce. It was so good! I wish I could remake their sauce and try it at home. Service was quick but there weren't many people at the time. This place is a little pricey, but the crawfish is delicious! The crawfish was big and was cooked to perfection. We ordered the viet cajun flavor and it tasted amazing. We dipped pretty much everything in the sauce. We ordered several pounds as well as a few potatoes and sausages. We also had the cajun fries which were super crispy. They weren't very flavored, but they went well with the viet cajun sauce. We also got the salt & pepper chicken wings which were well-seasoned, crispy, and large. Definitely felt very full. read more

We had a great experience, it was our first time here. Service was quick and servers were super friendly. T Tran was the friendliest of them all, he was the one who greeted us and I appreciate his upbeat energy, it was contiguous and really help set the tone for the rest of our night. Food was delicious! We ordered raw oysters, garlic butter crawfish, calamari and the garlic egg noodles. The noodles were nothing special but reminds me of simple asian comfort food. Oysters were fresh and the crawfish was huge when we went. Calamari was crispy and flavorful. I wanted to order the honeydew and mango persimmon ice cream because they said they make it in house but unfortunately they were sold out, so I'll just have to try it next time! read more

I had a craving for crawfish so my husband and I sent to the Chinatown location. The staff were attentive and quick. We really liked the fish sauce wings and the crawfish. The crawfish were super big! We would get these two again . The grilled oysters and shrimp were meh. You do get an option if you want the shrimp shelled or not. They also give you a bib and gloves to eat crawfish to cut down the mess. And the doorway to the bathroom is open so you don't have to worry about getting sauces all over their doors. lol. But both gendered bathrooms are a bit of a distance from each other . I didn't see a gender neutral bathroom . I usually do homemade crawfish broils so this is different for me. IMO, it's pricy but seafood is always pricy and their crawfish was huge. At this time, corn and potatoe was a dollar each. Our bill came out to a total of ~$90 for two people/ four dishes no drinks Parking is open and free but for handicaps individuals, there is a slope on the ramp already so watch your step. read more
Literally the best customer service I have encountered in a long time. Every waiter is your waiter so all you have to do is holler out if you need something and they come instantly- they even offer to tie your hair, put on your bib, and best of all... our waiter helped us peel our blue crab!! We ordered the salt and pepper Dungeness crab, Viet-Cajun shrimp, and spicy Thai basil fried rice with beef. The shrimp was packed with garlic, cayenne pepper, and other Cajun spices. The crab was a bit difficult to eat since it was fried, but that did not stop me from eating the savory and crispy batter to get to the soft and sweet crab meat on the inside.
