88 spice with cocktail sauce. "Bon Appetit"!

The food here never disappoint me. Service is always good the atmosphere is always great. The crawfish is always good and shrimp fried rice when I order is always fresh. 10 out of 10 definitely recommend .

Loved this place. Would definitely come back again to try other items on the menu. Just came by for crawfish this time. Had heard that it was good for a long time. A little mom and pop shop. Isn't always crazy packed. I got the ragin Cajun seasoning and it was great. Seasoned perfectly. Staff is great. Place is small. Check them out!!!

I've been coming here for years but just now found the time to write the review because of the wonderful crawfish I've been getting with the 88 special sauce. Super flavorful just with just enough kick, highly recommended! Friendly, fast service, Cold beer spicy crawfish = good time.

88 Boiling was worth the 30 minute wait and the drive. My family took a 40 minute drive to check out the much recommended crab off of Tik Tock and they did not disappoint! We ordered 2 orders of crab, 2 orders of Catfish and fries, crawfish, oysters and shrimp. The catfish was the freshest catfish we ever tasted. I never eat oysters but I tried the grilled oysters and they were amazing too! The restaurant doesn't have alcohol but it is byob. The restaurant is small and does have a drive through. We will definitely be back everything was sooo good! The waiters were on point too! Great service!

Hi crawfish lovers! We decided to try 88 Boiling crawfish & Seafood Restaurant on Wilcrest yesterday afternoon. We ordered 6 pounds with the 88 Special Sauce. Spice level: Spicy. Overall, we decided to give this place a 6/10. I'm glad we tried this spot, but it wasn't overly impressive. Size: 10/10 These guys were HUGE *No mushy or crushed ones. No claws at the bottom either. Spice: 3/10 Ordered spicy and there was not a lot of heat. Flavor: 5/10 Somehow the crawfish meat didn't absorb any flavor. It was truly lacking. The flavor was at the bottom of the bag, and that was it. I had to spoon it onto each tail as I ate them. The sauce itself was good, though. Peel: 6/10 Several of the tails were hard to loosen and some of them were tough and rubbery. Customer Service: 10/10

This is my 2nd time here, my first experience wasn't the best so I decided to give this spot one more chance. We came here for a UYE & when there's crawfish involved you know I'm there. I arrived at 12:10 & my friends informed me even though they open at 12:00 we needed to wait until 12:30 to order which isn't a good look. If you want to have your business run smoothly then be there at least an hour before opening to prep on your food otherwise you'll have a lot of hangry customers waiting to order. We got to try a few items on the menu. Started off with some onion rings and combo fried rice. I ordered 2 pounds of crawfish with a cluster of snow crabs & some potatoes. For dessert the group ordered the mango sticky rice. The onion rings were solid and it came out piping hot & were huge as well. The combo fried rice was nothing special and there was barely any shrimp in my rice. I got their 88 special xxx spicy for my crawfish. Flavor wise it was good but I didn't taste any lemon pepper. I also was expecting my tongue to burn, a runny nose and a little sweat but it wasn't that spicy. I eat spicy all the time so this was like a mild for me, it definitely had a kick but not enough to be triple x spicy. The snow crab was small & over boiled which made it dry. Definitely wasn't worth 16 bucks. The mango sticky rice was okay it just didn't have enough coconut milk. Overall, it was okay decent. The service was meh as well. Our server was not that nice but she did her job. I will say that the manager was extremely pleasant with us. The decor needs some TLC. The walls need new paint, the tables were unbalanced and the chairs look like it's been there since they've opened. Also the way it's set up, we were crammed up together. The tables were just too close to one another and it was hard for us to move around. Will I come back? Only if my friends decide to come here otherwise nah I'm good.

Came with a group of yelpers on a Saturday. Arrived at 11:55a since then open at noon. Staff member was just opening the door and turning on the lights. I walked inside, and the staff member told me they would have food ready by 12:30p. I said wait what? Then she said ok, maybe 12:20p but need time to cook. I was surprised, to say the least. Not a good start. Ambiance - your typical whole in the wall spot. Keep your expectations accordingly. Food- I ordered 1 lb of crawfish/$8.99 market price, with there 88 boiling special seasoning. I got medium spice. And it was spicy enough for me. I saved the extra sauce from the bag to make ramen at home, like I usually do. I think they charge for gloves and butter? The reviews I recently saw said they are charging automatic gratuity for a party of 2 or more, yikes! Review that receipt before you pay.

We ordered their *spicy* special sauce. It was not spicy at all. Their sauce is good on the outside, but I didn't think the crawfish meat itself had any flavor or sweetness to it.

I've been going here for years especially on Fridays during lent but today marks the end of my 88 support. I get it, Saturday evenings are busy but I kind of expect to get what I ordered and paid for... So here it is, I called and ordered for pick up. 2lbs of shrimp, 2 sausages, 2 corns, and 2 potatoes. 88 Special Sauce. Spicy. My husband came home with the food and dropped the bag on the table. I lifted it up and immediately said oh it's lighter than usual... I poured it out into a bowl and counted 18 shrimps. Unless they're counting the sauce in the weigh in, I'm definitely missing some. Ladies and gents these aren't colossal shrimp, they're like jumbo at best. And as I'm trying one... it's not spicy at all and it's just garlic and butter sauce. My 4 year old could drink the sauce. So I'm missing a pound and the sauce wasn't right. I called back and told them I think I'm missing a pound and I didn't get the 88 spicy sauce (aka the reason why I made my husband make the 45 minute drive there) and the staff member that picked up the phone told me to not eat my shrimp but to freeze it to bring it back for them to remake it for me when I'm able to come back next Friday. And then she told me to ask for extra spicy next time because the spicy they gave me wasn't to my standard (in a matter of fact kind of voice too if I might add) I've had their extra spicy and I can't handle it, that's why I asked for spicy... duh I'm not a first timer. But uhm... excuse me? You want me to freeze it and then bring it back to you to reheat and remake? Will the health department be okay with that? Is that your standards for your restaurant? But also not giving a simple apology? Like you guys could have said sorry. But yeah not coming back.

Three of us had dinner here on 4/7/23. This place is simply all about the good food, reasonably priced. There is pretty much no decor to speak of. We had: Garlic bread - 3/5: Okay. My daughter ordered this as she loves garlic bread. What came out was two very thick pieces of bread that had some melted garlic butter on it. It was a bit lacking in flavor. Onion rings - 3/5: Okay. Picture below. I will say it tasted better than it looked but certainly nothing to write home about. Gumbo - 3/5: The flavor was very good but the portion was a bit small for a "bowl" of soup. Crawfish - 4/5: Very good. Ordered 1lb special sauce mild and another 1lb special sauce spicy. The crawfish were perfectly cooked and quite large. Both sauces were very good but the spicy one was not very spicy at all. Clams - 3/5: Good. Ordered with special sauce mild. Again, the sauce was very good. We've now been to three different cajun-style crawfish/seafood restaurants in Houston. 1 did not have clams at all and two of them (including this one) used the white shelled clams you usually find in the frozen section of Asian supermarkets. We moved to Houston from Los Angeles less than a year ago. In LA, whenever clams are offered at these types of restaurants, they are almost always manilla clams, which are fresh and much more flavorful than these previously-frozen white clams. I don't get it... Snow Crab - 4/5: Very Good. Ordered with garlic butter mild. Really good flavor to the sauce and crab. Combination Fried Ric - 3/5: Good. The fried rice is very traditionally flavored like one would find at a Chinese restaurant (soy sauce and beaten eggs). No house or secret sauce added. Overall, the food is good to very good. The rating takes into account how reasonably priced this restaurant is versus its competition for similar food.

I first time here... fingers crossed.

Amazing first experience. The nicest ladies and staff. The crawfish was spicy XXX and made my face hurt... so good! It was perfect snd not just hot but had a good flavor. Sometimes it's just hot and taste blah but this was great. Good atmosphere and ambiance and just overall great experience. Highly recommend.

Feels good when an establishment takes pride in their customer's feedback and puts a plan into action. Honestly, part of me was hoping that last time was just a fluke or an off day. This time around, everything from the service to the food was great. We had a 12:30 Sunday reservation for two and opted to sit inside this time. We ordered the cast-iron cornbread, chargrilled oysters, and a cup of gumbo each to start. For entrées, I had the Gulf Fish, while my husband went with the crawfish Florentine. Everything came out beautifully timed, almost like a perfectly paced three-course meal, which obviously made the whole experience feel elevated and relaxed. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and on top of everything without being overbearing. I also tried the prickly pear aid (non-alcoholic), and it was super refreshing, definitely worth ordering if you like a little tartness to cleanse your palate. Overall, this visit felt like a completely different experience than last time. It delivered the elevated experience a place like Eunice promises and what I was used to originally. Looking forward to celebrating my birthday here in June!

Unfortunately, the overall dining experience was disappointing due to both the service and the food quality. Our server was very slow throughout the evening. After ordering cocktails, it took approximately 20 minutes for them to arrive. We then ordered our meals... I had the burger and fries, while my girlfriend ordered the shrimp and grits. Both dishes were noticeably over salted. After finishing our meals, we waited an additional 15-20 minutes just to receive a dessert menu. Eventually, we decided not to wait any longer and went to Dessert Gallery down the street instead. While the atmosphere and appearance of the restaurant were excellent, the slow service and food issues negatively impacted the experience. Based on this visit, I would likely not return.

The vibe is great, the decor is awesome, the food delivers consistently, and service rarely takes a day off -- it's just a solid place to go when you're up for some great southern comfort classics. Cocktails, delicious. The daily food specials make it refreshing. The oysters never disappoint. We've rarely had to wait long on any ordered items and servers are all top notch. My only minor complaint is some of the larger groups visiting can sometimes forget there are others in the restaurant. We don't need to hear your entire conversation about the latest office gossip.

We went on a Saturday for lunch. Hopefully this was just a one-off, but if you're looking for good Cajun boiled crawfish, this is not it. We started off with 6 lbs (group of 4) of their regular crawfish. First off, they put the Cajun seasoning on outside/shell (!!), which is a cardinal sin for Cajuns. They also minimally seasoned the boil, so the meat was lacking salt and flavor. We ordered 3 more lbs with the "wet sauce" (garlic butter), thinking the lack of flavor may be attributed to this being the first-ish batch of the day. Nope, the second batch was even less seasoned than the first. The sauce was good, but it didn't make up for the unseasoned meat. The crawfish were a good size, at least... Come on guys, I expect more from a Gulf Coast seafood restaurant!

Inside it's a nice restaurant with an upscale feel to it. I ordered a house salad for $9 to start and the Pasta Rosa entree for another $28. The salad arrived first with a generous amount of romaine lettuce with diced tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots and chopped eggs on top. With my chosen ranch dressing it was a good tasting salad. The Pasta Rosa dish had sliced Parmesan strips on top of penne with shrimp, crawfish and sausage for the protein with mushrooms and a tomato cream sauce. This meal initially tricked me. My first impression was that while there was plenty of protein the taste of the tomato cream sauce was lacking some flavor. I expected more. However as I kept eating and getting beyond the top layer of the food the flavor increased significantly. I think that the proteins caused the sauce in the lower half of the dish to create more punch. This dish got better and better and I changed my mind. It turned out to be a very good tasting and filling meal. Finally the table service was very good too. P.S. I also tried part of another appetizer which was the bar b q shrimp for $16. They were tasty. I like Rouxpour and would return. My only negative is that their prices are a little on the high side in my opinion.
