I got 3lbs of crawfish and 1lb of blue crab and I've been here before but it's been a few months and I would NOT recommend coming here ever again. All of the crawfish were straight up dead and the service was terrible because when I brought it up to their attention they didn't care at all and looked at me as if I was speaking another language. Thier crawfish is good both size and taste, considering we are not in crawfish season. I like thier chicken xtra spicy house seasoning. But check this out, I ordered again total 3lbs, one lb of cajune and 2lbs of cray-cray 4-1 but it wasn't three pounds may be 2lbs. C'mon, not the first time eating crawfish( I get like 3-4lbs) and not the first time ordering from here so I feel wronged. This is going to be super short and super sweet! I was in the mood for corn and potatoes so I decided to go to a seafood restaurant because I like the way they season the sides. I decided to go here and I was not disappointed. I ordered 2 corn and 3 potatoes, I believe. It may have been 2 potatoes but that's besides the point. I just have to say that I really, really enjoyed my corn and potatoes. They came covered (in a good way, not too much, not too little) in butter and seasonings. The seasonings were on point! The corn was cooked perfectly! Had a nice chew to it. So sweet that paired perfectly with the seasoned butter. The potatoes were cooked perfect, yum! They were not over done or under done. I've been going to this restaurant faithfully for about 2 years now, and I go at least once a month, but today was the last. I have never in my life had sour crab or shrimp until today at this place. Now, ordinarily, I would talk it up to a bad batch and leave the place of business to correct it. But when I talked to them about it, I was told it was probably the seasoning. And, I just told y'all I have been going here- and getting the SAME THING for about 2 years. When you arrive there is a sign that states all dine in and carry out orders are placed at the register, and then you pay. Basically it's just a place with a roof, a few TVs, table and chairs. No table service, so why should I leave a tip? You have to dump your own trash. Napkins are provided at the dispenser. RR facilities are atrocious, can't blame the tenant for the ceiling caving in, water leaking from the ceiling. The RR needs to have some care and attention. Just a bunch of young employees bussing tables. Ordered Fried Calamari, Fried Alligator and 2lbs Garlic Butter Medium Spicy Crawfish. The crawfish were good, the fried alligator was not worth the price. The size and food quality was poor. The Calamari, food quality was great but for portion size very poor. We will never go back. I've never dined in, but I'm kind of glad I didn't because the last time I was there waiting for my food customers complained about finding bugs in the booth they were in. The most common dishes I order are The seafood gumbo - mild/hot Shrimp or plain Jambalaya - mild/hot The Cajun fries - seasoned mild/hot These are the three that I mostly order and believe me they aren't shy with the seasoning. I've been coming here for years and I love this place but the last time that I came it wasn't as good as it usually is. I ordered crawfish, shrimp, king crab legs. The sauce was good but the crawfish were small and usually the crawfish are a nice size. I didn't get as many crawfish as I would have gotten if I ate inside. I ordered everything to go once I check my bag the king crab legs weren't so king. They were about the size of snow crab legs. I should've just ordered the snow crab legs instead of the king crab because I would've gotten more crab for the price that I paid. My server was nice but the apps took a bit long, the gumbo was scalding hot and the balls were fried a bit too hard. Our entree's consisted of a the mild, house flavored crawfish, 1 lb each, they literally give you 2-3 nice size crawfish and the rest were very tiny, super tiny!!!! another deal breaker, the crawfish appeared to be frozen and not fresh which didn't make sense bc we are currently In crawfish season. I'm not gonna use the cheap decor as a reason for a bad review or the untrained waitstaff (when we asked about the fried broccoli he told us he had no idea why it was even on the menu) or the limited drink choices (both beer and soda) or the really odd seafood smell when we first walked in...and the location doesn't bother me. I don't know what large/big seems like to the other reviewers here but more than 2/3 of mine were small enough to have been thrown back. The flavor and heat were really pretty good and most of them came right out when I tugged. So I'm not gonna complain too much about them. But they were small. I did get the little corn but no potato. The corn was bad...soggy and old tasting. My dining companion got the fried catfish and shrimp platter with corn (it was worse than mine), fried broccoli (which would have been really good it they had put some cheese in it or on it) and french fries (which were delicious). At $19 I expected better - much better. The catfish was frozen at some point. The shrimp still had the veins down the back and the breading was exactly the same bland cornmeal on everything on the plate. EVERYTHING. I've had worse fried seafood but it's been a while and it wasn't this close to the coast where there are good fresh seafood markets. For $19 you'd expect FRESH fish. We are always looking for a new joint to grab a bite nearby. We had been seeing the advertising for this place on our cable and decided one afternoon to check it out. Our favorite place for crawfish and "shack" style seafood is up off 1960 (Bluewater Seafood) and when we don't want to drive too far we'll go down to Gessner and Westheimer to Ragin Cajun. Wish we had done either today. With all of the really good neighborhood seafood shacks and boats in the area a place like this sticks out like a sore thumb. FYI- you have to fill out a "membership" card to order beer here as they are a private club due to proximity to a church. Okay i came back two years later and the management has significantly improved! The food was great, our waiter (edward) was friendly and attentive and helped us make our order. The food was fantastic and the service made this a great experience. I'm glad things changed from my previous review! Easily one of THE WORST dining experiences of my life. We were a party of four very easy going. But waitress was so absent minded, confused and generally couldnt think her way out of a paper bag. We had to ask for water refills several times, ask for napkins, ask for lemons, ask for straws etc etc. We asked about items on the menu and she had no idea about the entrees and didnt suggest anything. It was so bad that I just started laughing because I knew we were on a hidden camera game show. Like seriously this cant be real life! It was so bad that one of my friends asked if it was her first day (we wouldve gave her a break) and the waitress said no. So she clearly provides horrible service everyday. More training is desperately needed! One of my friends spilled her sweet tea and it made a huge mess on the floor. We switched tables and no one cleaned up our previous table or mopped even up till an hour later. Gross. They dont buss the tables as bowls and eaten crab and crawfish are speckled throughout the restaurant. I hate eating near other peoples scraps and trash. This also makes me wonder whats going on in the kitchen if the front of the house is such a pigsty. Someone clean this place up! We ordered dessert, the cheesecake which was supposed to have a strawberry topping, instead it had a thin syrup that looked like cough medicine and the cheesecake was obviously store bought and old. We told the manager and he actually argued with us that the topping was a homemade soufflé. Seriously sir? Im gonna need you not to lie to customers lol. Anyways he took it off our tab. Oh another thing, the plastic silverware is beyond strange for a sitdown restaurant. Theres also a note that prints out on your receipt saying "DO NOT STIFF YOUR WAITER" which means that this is a problem that the waiters encounter frequently...well surely if the service was better they wouldnt be stiffed!!!
