The first we came here, we tried almost everything.. the fries, crabs, shrimp. I don't even think they had pho at that time. Everything was good, but the crawfish was delicious! The remaining times we've been here, I only order crawfish and corn as I don't have space for the rest. I'm a wimp so I get garlic butter and emphasize not spicy. I'm not even sure if that's an option as mild is still strong for me. It is sooooo good. The size is pretty mixed, some small, medium and a few large one. We've been craving for this. Right after we ate here, we already planned to go back the following week! I might cheat and go there with someone else today. Yes, I've been craving for this that I cannot wait a couple more days. read more

LA CRAWFISH IS SO CONVENIENT AND DELICIOUS WITH ALL IT'S ZEST AND BLAST OF FLAVOR I'll be grocery shopping, and then all of a sudden I get a craving for some crawfish... Why not La Crawfish?! The crayfish is great. The people are kind. The wings are delicious. read more

The atmosphere was layed back not too many people and the wait time wasn't long. I ordered the sweet and spicy wings and they were fresh and delicious. I ate them before I reached my home. The crawfish on the other hand was not as good. They were small and the garlic butter sauce was watery and not the same as the last time I went which was last year. They didn't have much flavor but I will give them another try. The two times before was perfect with just the right of flavor read more

Some purchases at this restaurant come with a bonus surprise!!! I've come here plenty of times and have usually had a decent experience. However, after my trip Sunday afternoon, I have to say they have really reset the bar. Good news for all you trendsetters, the LA Crawfish in the 99Ranch Market has started adding a bonus gift with the purchase of their chicken wings!!! Much like that old hamburger place that never has cars in its parking lot, or that 24-hour Mexican restaurant who takes that ole mariachi ode to its mascot "La Cucaracha!" very seriously, this restaurant is now surprising certain diners with a non-optional hip new trend called the "Food Poisoning Cleanse." It's possible that you may have heard of it on Buzzfeed or from Gwynnie Paltrow, who knows? Both my boyfriend and I got a free cleanse sample, and it has worked wonders. In less than 24 hours I have lost 3-5 lbs of body liquids (the variation depends on how much Blue Gatorade I temporarily had in my system). I have been expelling so many fluids that my bathroom now smells like a port-a-potty at a hot music festival. Take that Yankee Candle! Also the extreme dehydration means that I no longer have to buy clothes since the related 101-degree fever will keep me plenty warm and missing work renders sartorial grace pointless. All and all, I highly recommend this place if you love Thai tamarind chicken wings and a novel experience of body wrenching agony. Employees are friendly tho. read more

2 weeks ago: My sister and I decided to re-visit this place since last season and we first ordered 3lbs spicy garlic butter and boy was it spicy... We always order our crawfish spicy, but it was top notch spicy where you couldn't taste the crawfish itself... Second round, we ordered 3 more lbs but mild garlic butter, they ran out of crabs, and ordered sweet potato fries. Second time we could taste the crawfish better, but I prefer my crawfish with the butter. It makes it more slimy. The only good thing was the sweet potato fries. I would probably just go there just for the sweet potato fries and nothing else. The line was long when we ordered it the second time.. I wasn't pleased with my experience here, but my sister liked it. 1 week ago: My sister(s) and I went back because my sister told my other sister how good it was and I kept telling her not to go back, I didn't have a choice since I didn't drive so I gave it another shot. This time, I only ordered 2lbs mild garlic butter and I feel the same. The ingredients didn't satisfy me. Will I return? No thank you. I would tell the management right at the spot about my review, but it was too busy and every worker was running around the place. read more

Just left there the Crawfish were amazing...love it and We will be back. Hubby and I ate 9 pounds. Thank you for having Crawfish. Nobody else in Houston has Crawfish. See you very soon. I'm telling everybody I know to get some. read more

I came here for the crawfish. They have three different flavors, each available spicy. They serve the crawfish in large plastic bags and you dump them onto a disposable, plastic table cloth. At the end, you bus your own table. Also, the restaurant is BYOB, so feel free to load up an ice chest of cold ones and carry it in. read more

Stay away!!!! Yep for all the hype and promises about great Crawfish all that was served was a bag of chewy, overcooked and dead crawfish. Nothing grinds my gears more, I went to talk to the guys behind the counter and he said there is nothing he can do about!!! Will not go back there again. There are so many more places open that serve better crawfish than this place. read more

I'm not as obsessed with crawfish as many people in this great city. And I'm no connoisseur (snob? :) ) so personally the fact that I don't have to camp out before the place opens to get a table (Boiling Crab? no thanks) and that the price is $5.99/lb works to satisfy my occasional crawfish craving. This place is inside Ranch 99 and while there is no need to camp out, there is usually a small line. If you can't grab one of the tables right on their space, you can always grab one of the other tables around the food court. We usually get their spicy garlic sauce with some corn and potatoes. I always thought their flavor was pretty spot on. I will say the size of the crawfish is all over the place based on time of the year. I just went recently and we got a lot of the bigger ones, but I recall going towards the end of April last year and we found mostly smaller sized mudbugs. We like the wings too although they're not making me forget Buffalo Wild Wings any time soon. You can buy some beer inside Ranch 99 to go with your food. And they also have pho. The one thing about check-in discounts...on the last time I went, they said that because the price was already lower than their usual listed price of $6.99 that the 10% discount wouldn't apply to the actual crawfish, just everything else in the order. That seemed a bit confusing but it's still gets you a better bargain than most other places in town. read more

Damn good. In town from Austin visiting family. we love seafood. Found on yelp, you guys never disappoint. Thanks tellers and thanks LA Craw

Mhmmm yummy. This place is located inside the food court area in 99 Ranch. The crawfish were cooked to perfection and the sauce was perfect. Thank goodness I got mild because my friend got the spicy one and he was sweating like crazy. We got a side of lemon pepper wings, which were also very tasty. After we finished, we ordered the beignet fries which were delicious as well. The perfect dessert! read more

This place is awesome-sauce. The crawfish is really good, but only because I like it drenched in spicy garlic seasoning/sauce. The price is okay but I never go all out here anyways. NOW, let me get to the wings doe. I don't know why and it might just be me, but the wings here are amazing. Better than the always overrated Buffalo Wild Wings. My favorite flavor is Thai Tamarind for sure. I can't really describe the taste but it's amazing. The service is good in that the food comes out fast, other than that you get everything yourself. A+++ from someone who is picky with food. read more

Best one out of them all. I've been going to this spot for almost two years. Never have I received unfriendly service at this location. The crawfish pho is my go-to comfort food paired with a michelada. read more

I would give them no stars or even ban them from severing frozen pre-boiled crawfish while claiming that they are fresh. I can tell when the crawfish is frozen and pre-boiled then heat it up when you order. I don't know how these people who go here can't tell. I find it super offensive because it's deceiving. I'm paying for fresh and I got frozen and pre-boiled. read more

Fast, cheap, clean and really good. I had the spicy beef pho and really enjoyed it. The noodles are not the super thin type you get at a lot of pho places. The spoon and chop sticks are light and cheap, but the food is awesome for a $6 meal. The 99 cent market is nice too. read more

Haven't had a bad meal here yet. I come a few times and month for lunch. The crawfish is one of the best in town. I like crawfish Asian style and Cajun style. I've tried Asian style crawfish all over town and LA Crawfish is my favorite. I'm also a big Pho fan. I tried the crawfish Pho last visit and loved it! The dessert fries are also a must have!! See you guys later this week! read more

Delicious crawfish for 6.99/lb and shrimp 8.99/lb. We tried cajun and garlic butter separately. I enjoyed the cajun much more, it is spicy! It would be nice if we can mix the two flavors. They don't have dungeness crab, but you can buy it (@ 99 ranch market or anywhere!) and they'll cook it with the flavor you want for a small fee. The front seating area is small, but you can bring the food and eat it anywhere in the food court area. It's BYOB which is wonderful! Corn is extra..and they serve rice! This place is very similar to Boiling Crab but much cheaper (and BYOB :)) Oh and you MUST try the benginets, they're amazing! I'm new to town but I have already been here a few times. The chicken wings are OK, lemon pepper is pretty good. I would definitely like to try their pho next time. read more

I love this LA crawfish but i was so disappointed last night. The crawfish was out as soon as i finished paying. It was over cooked, hard, dry and no flavor. Their customer service is great but the food is not what it used to be. read more

CRAWFISH HEAVEN!!! This place is absolutely AWESOME! I was going out of my way from the loop to travel to this spot. I love how it is located inside an asian mall / supermarket - it really lends to the uniqueness that is this place. The prices are moderate - maybe a dollar more (per pound) than some other locations, but it's honestly worth it. I am from NYC, and NEW to the whole mudbugs, crawdaddies, crawfish scene lol! BUT I AM ABSOLUTELY HOOKED! I've tried the traditional cajun style in several places within the inner loop, and besides RAJIN CAJUN which is REALLY GOOD, but also OVERPRICED --- nothing beats the flavor of the asian spicy style garlic butter craws from LA CRAWFISH. ON top of that, everything else they have to offer, from yucca fries, wings, blue crabs, shrimp and alaskan king crab legs --- it is all absolutely FLAWLESS! Just pure amazing, there is not much else I can say, but just praise the folks at LA CRAWFISH and Blalock Rd. Sadly... There is NO reason for me to go out of my way for this location, because NOW they have a NEW location on Richmond Ave right off Weslayan --- YAYYY!!! I would give this place 5 stars, if it werent so far away, and if the staff SMILED more... They always seem pretty depressed lol! PS: Just went to the NEW location on Richmond --- SUPER AWESOME! Young friendly staff, full of joy, and the same amazing selection and flavors found on Blalock --- EXTREMELY HAPPY! :) read more

I've been coming here for years and why I haven't written a review is beyond me! Food is always great and always consistent! Best part they always remember me and my kids when we come by! Always have to make a stop for some boiled shrimp, empanadas, oysters and beignet fries are to die for! Always my number 1 place for my seafood fix! read more

Not good at all. All hype. Service was okay. Our crawfish was so dry and lacked flavor. My friends had the wings, fries, oysters and fried oysters and all said it was mediocre. It was probably due to the high demand (came on a Saturday night) and they were probably just trying to get out as much as they could. I'm assuming they aren't consistent. Which might mean something since the LA Crawfish in Dallas closed down too. If you're with someone, try to get them to hold a table for you while you stay in line. If you decide that it's worth it.. It was absolutely ridiculous how our group had to hop around the cafeteria just to get a seat. Crawfish Cafe is so much better. read more

LA Crawfish is my "go to" crawfish place! I live closer to the Pearland location but I have a special preference for this location. My review is more about the service I received back in January. The family decided to meet here for dinner and the kids and I arrived before my husband and this particular employee saw that I needed assistance with the kids, so he helped out in every way possible from bringing the food. getting the condiments and making sure we were ok. At the end of dinner, with the hustle and bustle I must have set my phone on the table and it ultimately ended up wrapped in the tablecloth and out with the trash (yes in the crawfish juice). Yuck. Long story short, the same employee took the trash to the back and retrieved my cellphone and cleaned it up for me. I felt like this was over and beyond his call of duty and I am forever grateful. Thanks LA crawffir having awesome employees. I will edit once I get his name. read more

This place is the bomb.com been going here for at least 3 years? Iunno. Losing count on the crawfish season. Ahahaha. But I LOVE this place. The staff is alway so helpful and so so so nice. They definitely upgraded their furniture maybe a year now and I'm totally digging the look. Glossy tops and some have crawfishs all over them. Another great thing is you can BYOB ;) just be sleek about it and wrap it in a napkin LOL. Love their garlic butter flavor. I die each time I eat their crawfish. It's like an explosion from within ;) read more

I was very disappointed crawfish was small no flavor asked for spicy it came out cold and potatoes look like they had been recycled

I drive 15 miles just to come a get the crazy garlic noodle with extra shrimp. My favorite place, I love their food, and I love the owner John, who is as sweet as can be. He's only been opened a little over 1 year. He is still growing, so give him a chance. He's trying to train his staff properly and efficiently. The younger staff sometimes encounter occupational hiccups, and need to be developed more, but I trust John is working on that. When ever I have a bad day, I come and order the crazy noodles. Only one corn, and crab legs or shrimp. I'm a Chicago girl, and I'll tell read more

I love crawfish! L.A. crawfish are really juicy and big! :) Great service and friendly staff!

I love eating here! The food is awesome! I love that is BYOB too. You can buy drinks at the grocery store and then walk over and eat. The spicy garlic crawfish is amazing! read more

Crawfish always taste old! Not fresh this place used to be so good. I will say the curry was sooo good!!! It was amazing!!!

Ok I have been dying to try this place out and was seriously disappointed. I have eaten many many pounds of crawfish from different places including boiling our own and what we had from LA Crawfish was not fresh crawfish. The meat was mushy, the bodies and heads crushed and I could immediately smell it was wrong when I opened the bag. Plus, it is apparent they cook it way ahead of time and it sat because I was given my order before I even left the counter. The only good thing was the sweet corn and potatoes in the garlic butter sauce. But they are known for and I came there specially for the crawfish. Bummer! read more

Whoa man, this place is good! My boyfriend and I were craving some crawfish today, but we wanted to venture out and try other places besides our usual stop, Cajun Corner II. After doing a bit of Yelp research, LA Crawfish was our winner. This joint is located inside 99 Ranch Market. A few steps from the front door and you'll see it on the right. It's true, they only offer garlic-flavored crawfish, but they allow you a bit of customization when it comes to the level of spiciness. **IMPORTANT: CHECK-IN BEFORE YOU PAY.** Around the time of this review (and several months before, according to older reviews), checking in gets you 10% off. I was totally going to take advantage of this deal, but forgot at the last moment - probably because I was too focused on deciding how many orders of potatoes to get. (Yes, corn and potatoes have to be ordered separately.) After ordering, you can grab whatever sauces you wish (I'm a cajun seasoning + lime girl, myself) and prepare your table by covering it with the plastic sheet they give you. This idea was pretty brilliant and it REALLY makes for easy clean-up; idk, maybe I'm just easily impressed. A few short minutes later, we were handed our little crawfish bag and the crawfish carnage commenced. The moment you open your bag, that strong smell of garlic and spice just fills the air...and you KNOW you're about to dive into something tasty. There are chunks and chunks of garlic slathered all over the entire heap, and since the crawfish was spiced up with chili oil, it wasn't too hot for my boyfriend and, at the same time, it was perfect for me. Everything tasted amazing. My only major complaint would be over the size of the crawfish. There were about 10 big ones in total and the rest were babies; I almost felt guilty ripping them apart. Shoulda let 'em live a little longer so they'd be more satisfying, but since that wasn't the case, it was a classic lose-lose situation. :( Isn't it supposed to be peak crawfish season too? I'm also annoyed to have all these old Asian people gawking at us eating while they stroll by. One lady even walked up to the table next to us and had the audacity to ask, "Can I look at your food?" Rude. And creepy. We'll definitely be back to use our 10% off deal, but I'm a little bummed that we couldn't use it this time. A bag full of baby crawfish, as tasty as they were, just isn't worth full price to me. read more

This place has amazing crawfish. My family and I usually go during crawfish season where we would get 20 pounds of crawfish and blue crabs; all cajun style. The seasoning is fantastic. The crawfish are usually decently sized and fresh. The blue crabs were super sweet. I love how after getting your seafood, everything is pretty much self serve. You can help yourself to all the condiments you need. read more

Holy cow, this place is awesome. A buddy and I came here today, 3/21/12, and the price per lb. was 5.99. They have two flavors, cajun and garlic butter. I ended up ordering a lb of extra spicy cajun and garlic butter with a single corn. My buddy got the same with but with sausage. I got the roll of paper-towels and table cloth and waited roughly 3 minutes for our food to come out. We cracked into the extra-spicy and boy was it EXTRA-SPICY...blury vision, popping ears, sweating, tingling lips and runny nose were all symptoms of this heat level and I loved every bit of it. The Garlic butter was a little bit sweeter and helped cool my mouth off from the extra spicy. Somehow my buddy got the garlic butter in extra spicy and it was defintely extra spicy. I came to the last crawfish and realized I still had the corn left...I took 3-4 bites and just couldnt handle it anymore. It took me a good 10 minutes to overcome the heat. Besides it being overly spicy, it actually taste good. I was really impressed and this is now my spot for tasty crawfish. Dont be pushed away by this review if you arent into spicy food, they do have other levels of heat, and for those that like challenges, eat 3lbs of the ghost chilli flavor and you'll get a shirt along with 10% off future purchases. read more

This is all about the wings. Although we had the mudbugs, which were great. The hot garlic & basil spice wings were excellent. The atmosphere is really lacking but I'm a wing purist and needed a spot in Houston. This is as good as it gets so far. Sweet potato fries a nice compliment. read more

It is gross to order 3lbs crawfish and what comes with it is dirt and grass that's not suppose to be in the bag. My appetite dissipated as I was picking out the cramp. Unless they properly clean their crawfish and stop selling us dead ones, I am going somewhere else that is CLEANER. Also, four bucks for extra garlic is ridiculous. read more

Great crawfish and super nice staff. Also love the chicken wings (garlic) and the sweet potato fries. Their pho is good too. A great meal before grocery shopping at 99 Ranch! read more

Awesome food!..its really small so its hard to find a seat..and its in a weird location..overall tho i loved it!

I've heard about this place from many people. I love that its BYOB! SAVES YOU MONEY!! When I first got the crawfish I was shocked, thought it be a bit more spicier. Well I was wrong. After 4 crawfish later, the spice will hit your tongue and make you sweat like no other. The sausage was really good, but I wouldn't recommend putting the potatoes and corn with the spices because it really is spicy. It's inside an asian market so there is plenty of seating! However, if you want to drink BYOB you have to drink inside the seating area. There were lots of seating. I would definitely go back. Oh and if you 'LIKE' their facebook receive 10% off your bill =) read more

Everything we have eaten here has been fantastic. Especially love the Crawfish Noodle Soup (Pho). Word for the wise, Hot means HOT!!!!!!!

Wow what the heck happened to this place?? Went there for the first time since the opening and I have to say that the crawfish was a HUGE let down. They claim to have "live" crawfish, but most if not all of our crawfish were dead before they cooked. I know this because almost every crawfish I tried to peel broke off before I could get the entire tail out of the shell. And it also had a funky taste to it that you only know if you eat old dead crawfish.. Maybe I am just too spoiled because I always eat at crawfish and noodles on bellaire.. Never going back.. read more

BYOB, excellent crawfish when in season, and delicious pho.XD
