Food: I've been doing takeout from here for many years, and the food is always good. My favorite is their chicken, yellow rice with beans, and green sauce. The chicken is always very flavorful and moist and the best Peruvian chicken I've had in NYC. Their other dishes such as the paella are just average, but I always return for the chicken and rice. Definitely worth a try if you like Peruvian food! Service: Staff are friendly and nice. Ambiance: The restaurant isn't big but has a good number of tables that can accommodate both small and larger groups. Decor and ambiance is generally nice. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.
My gf is broadening my taste buds and today I'm trying Peruvian food for the first time. This spot has a nice interior, wasn't too busy and the service was pretty quick. We ordered a variety of dishes which were all a first for me in this style, the taste was good and the drinks was refreshing. My favorite was the empanadas which were full of meat and the ceviche which was a nice fresh mouth feel. A bit pricey for the food, but worth the try.
I really thought i already made a review but I was just thinking about the ice cream and tostones here i mustve forgot. My saltado was good but i didnt love the beef, it was really the tostones and ice cream that did it for me. I am going to get chicken on my next visit. Service was mid the staff that took care of us seems new, but the trainer was friendly and made recommendations. Big portions and very filling plates. Ice cream texture was just ok not the creamiest
If you're craving bold, authentic Peruvian flavors in Brooklyn, this place is an absolute must. We came around golden hour and were lucky enough to grab a table outdoors -- the patio seating was super cozy and gave us the perfect view of the sunset while we ate. We ordered the rotisserie chicken and it was insanely juicy and flavorful -- perfectly seasoned with that crispy skin you dream about. The lomo saltado was tender and full of that rich, savory stir-fry flavor you'd expect. For sides, we had both the yuca fries and regular fries -- honestly couldn't pick a favorite. The yuca fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the papas fritas were classic perfection. The cocktails were another standout -- super refreshing with unique flavor combos (and you can feel them, too ). Definitely not watered down. Service was amazing also!
It would be nice if they were more flexible with the sides for the 1/2 add whole chicken combos. They have it set up so you have to order extra sides. But I have to say those beans were so so good, it made up for the lack of options. The chicken was good it had flavor. The breast was kind of dry after a while and the Wing was pretty dried out. The green sauce was good. It just could've used a bit more citrus, herbs, and spice. Rates 6/10
Came here for Friendsgiving and it did not disappoint! The staff were friendly and attentive as we had 10 people. The food was delicious and portions were huge. It's a small restaurant but very cozy. The lomo saltado was cooked perfectly for medium rare and the mixed seafood ceviche was soooo good! Would definitely come back whenever the craving hits!
It's out of the way, but I order at least once a month from here. So far we haven't had a bad experience. Friendly and fast service. Not loud. We ordered the 1/2 chicken combo with rice and beans as well as the empanada de mariscos (shrimp, squid, octopus). I'm huge on sauces so you can imagine how much of the green sauce bottle I emptied because it was just that good. They hate to see me coming LOOL. Absolutely recommend stacking rice, beans, chicken, chicken skin, and green sauce atop plantain chips (see photo).
I've eaten at La Chacra before, but I always ordered the chicken for delivery and it was so delicious, especially with the green sauce. Today was my first time actually sitting down inside, and wow... it was amazing. I tried this potato stuffed with beef stew, AMAZING. And the fried rice? Omg, absolutely delicious. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and I will definitely be coming back just for that. The plantains were also perfectly done! so on point. Overall, great experience. I will be back
We made a reservation for this place. The restaurant is not spacious inside but overall cozy. Food is not bad though not the greatest I've had. If the rating is just based on the food, I think it could go to 4 stars. I took a star off because they charged us 20% tip already but the waiter didn't tell us that and we tipped on top of that. We only found out after we left the place. It would be nice if they just say something when they bring us the check.
Not knowing what to order, but knowing that we wanted comfort food, I stumbled across La Chacra on Bath Avenue. I thought it was too good to be true from how popular it looked on Uber Eats so off to Yelp to cross reference. I really could not find anything negative about the food. In fact, the reviews were overwhelmingly glowing. So we took a chance and ordered the basics. Half rotisserie chicken, maduras, which are caramelized fried plantains and rice and beans. Boy oh boy when I tell you, this was glorious and super flavorful in its simplicity. The chicken was heavenly juicy and tender. We both loved it and I'm not really a chicken person.. The maduras and rice and beans were also exceptional. Everything was super flavorful and perfectly seasoned without being overly salty, which was a pleasant surprise. FYI, there is no pic of the beans because we ate it rather quickly. That's how good they were. Will definitely be ordering from here again and hope to dine in person soon.
It's a cute trendy little restaurant. We never noticed it since everytime we visit NY, we don't always stay in Brooklyn for food. We arrived around 7:30pm and place was full. We sat at the bar since we didn't want to sit outside. We ordered a glass of red sangria and Aromo Cabernet Sauvignon. We ordered the following to share: pulpo a la parrilla anticuchera, 1/2 chicken combo and entrana a lo pobre. The Pulpo is quite expenses at $30 but it's an amazing dish. The octopus is super tender. The green sauce adds the octopus to the next level. Both the steak and chicken are super flavorful. Love the vibe of this of this restaurant.
Always ordered takeout/delivery. Finally had an opportunity to eat-in for my birthday. It was not as empty as I'd expect for a Wednesday evening but the servers are very nice. The food was amazing of course. I ordered a sangria it wasn't too strong but I definitely felt it an hour later lol. Would definitely recommend!

I had an amazing experience at la chacra! The ffood was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing! I am a full time wheelchair user and the servers were extremely accommodating to my needs. My server, Thomas, was the best! he was attentive and conversational. I had gotten the skir steak with egg and rice with plantanos. Abs delicious!! I definitely recommend this restaurant and I definitely will be revisiting!!! read more

This Peruvian restaurant is a must. It's a small place so I would recommend a reservation because their food is excellent. I have come here a few times and have had several different plates and have not been disappointed yet. They have really good ceviche and I always get it spicy! The seafood paella is also very good. One of my favorite dishes is one that is pretty basic, and that's the rotisserie chicken with French fries. That chicken is very flavorful and very moist. It's one of the dishes I recommend. Add the green sauce on the table, and you have an incredible delicious meal. I asked the waitress for a fancier drink this time around, and it came in a glass box filled with smoke. That was very interesting and tasted strong. I would come here anytime, and I would recommend you to do the same. read more
Food was excellent. The chicken was fall off the bone soft and super tender. The calamari tasted fresh and not chewy. They topped it off with some onions which was a tangy flavor which was a perfect combination. The beef fried rice was my kids favorite and they finished it all. The popular seafood paella I sadly wasn't the biggest fan. It's a little too much and overpowering almost. The service was good but the waiter was a little bit awkward. The atmosphere was nice and quiet we started as the only table in the restaurant and then more people came in. I was charged 18% for gratitude for 3 adults and 2 babies; which I thought is 18% is only for parties of 6 and up. Overall, a good spot to bring family or have a date night. read more
Came here with a friend for dinner. The staffs were friendly. There's a bar and outside seating at the restaurant. They do keep social distance for diners, tables are spread out. The food was very flavorful and fresh. The fish from the jalea mixta was very juicy even it was fried. The pork chop was well seasoned. I will definitely return to tired other items on the menu. read more

Food - 10 stars fantastic Service - fast delivery Price - we used to get a ton of food for $80~ with leftovers. It was amazing and it was our go to for our family. Two days ago they raised their prices. If it were a $10 increase for the family meal. Ok. I get it. $20 increase?! It's unfair to the restaurant in terms of food quality but this is an increase that is just absurd. A better way to do it is increase it slowly by $2 every 4/6 months. read more
Food is actually pretty good and service was ok. Clean and nicely decorated. Not many option for Peruvian food in Bensonhurst but la chacra is worth trying. We had the arroz con mariscos. Tasted ok, full of seafood. I think the shrimps were a bit overcooked but the rice was soggy. I'll give this dish 3.5. The Lomo salteado was ok too and chicken combo. Not much to report there either. The chicken was well seasoned buy chicken breast was so dry. Tres leches cake was very good. I took a star because I didn't like that the staff was not earing masks. Albeit, they asked for vaccine card but I still think staff should be masked, especially dealing with other's people food. read more
Came here to pick up some Peruvian food for dinner. I got the Arroz con mariscos (seafood paella) and the Lomo saltado and thoroughly enjoyed both dishes. The rice in the paella was delicious and the dish came with tons of seafood. I requested for the steak in the lomo saltado to be cooked medium rare but it ended up more like well done...not a dealbreaker though. Did not try their rotisserie chicken because I just couldn't force myself to fork over $30+ for their chicken combo when I can get a whole rotisserie chicken at BJ's for $6, which I used to dip in their tasty aji verde (green sauce). I ordered ahead and only had to wait 5 mins after arrival for my food. Awesome vibes on a Friday evening and workers were friendly. Not sure if I'll be back since it's kind of expensive but the food is definitely solid. read more

Was craving Peruvian ceviche so decided to give this place a try. Came for lunch on a Sunday and was promptly seated outdoors (they have few tables outdoors). Ordered a glass of chicha morada (purple corn drink), a mixed ceviche, chicharron de calamar (fried calamari) and a 1/4 chicken with rice and beans. It was enough food for 2 people. Everything was delicious and the service was good. Definitely coming back whenever I am craving Peruvian food. read more

This is truly a hidden gem and the single best Peruvian restaurant in the city. The anticucho. in particular was flavorful, juicy, and mouthwatering. Truly the best food, and the service was equally amazing. And as far as ambiance, it was empty and nice music, I could not find a single thing to complain about. One of the waiters was so sweet and gave us green sauce to take home on the house ( and trust me, you want the green sauce!) One complaint is that they add the 20% gratuity into the bill, but you would be out of it to not give them a 20% tip. Truly incredible. read more

Dined at La Chacra on a suggestion by friends visiting from Out-of-State., and "Oh Boy" I'm so happy we did. The food was excellent! The drinks were legitimate and service superb. Our group shared an order of Chicharron de pescado that was fried to perfection. Along with a most tender and flavorful Anticuchos and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside Yuca. I also tried the Shrimp Chaufa which was bursting with flavor. Others had the Spicy Ceviche and raved about the nice balance of flavor and heat. Portions are generous, enough to share or take home. Enjoy! read more

Downgraded rating because they automatically charged 20% tip to our bill for only 4 people on top of 3% for credit card use. The server also reached over to clean our table when we were still not done with our drinks and still looking over the bill. Food is over priced even though it is good. The auto 20% tip for a party of 4 is absolutely ridiculous. The tipping crisis is getting worse and worse. read more

My hunny and I really enjoy Peruvian food. Since our go-to restaurant nearby the house is closed, he went on a mission to find us a Peruvian Restaurant. Driving all the way to Brooklyn to find us some good eats was no different from any other time we are craving something. We usually get the standard combo. My hunny placed a to-go order for the Combo La Chacra. Combo La Chacra includes a Whole Rotisserie Chicken, Salad, Salchipapas, Maduros, Rice and Beans. He doesn't eat pork so he omitted the salchipapas and added Yuca Frita instead. It's not authentic Peruvian food if you don't get the Green Sauce better known as Aji Verde. Aji Verde is aka as crack in a liquefied form. There's no way you cannot add it to your chicken, rice, or yuca Frita. The rotisserie chicken comes with complimentary Aji Verde on the side, but make sure you get a extra green sauce. Believe me you'll thank me later. When I tell you the food was bomb.com its mind boggling that we didn't find out about this place much sooner. The food here is amazing. Usually I'm not a fan of Peruvian rice and beans because it lacks flavor, but what we had was beyond yummy. My only gripe is that the rotisserie chicken could've been roasted just a tad longer perhaps another 10 minutes would've done the chicken absolute justice. I'm a huge fan of aesthetics and crunch -- albeit our chicken was thoroughly cooked, it lacked that deep rich roasted fresh out of the rotisserie color I'm accustomed to. read more

Really annoyed at La Chacra. Because of covid-19 everyone is staying home. Decided to support a not-so-local restaurant. A solid 20 minutes away. I called in my order and the girl who answered had difficulty understanding me and asked if I spoke spanish. Unfortunately I don't but I know the dishes in Spanish. Ordered an Arroz Chaufa beef, fettuccini saltado seafood, a peruvian corn (which was a mistake) and a small order of green sauce. When i got to the restaurant I added on a fried yucca, and an order of french fries (I should have received more green sauce for this order) First and foremost. the dining room is closed. So called in orders really should be getting the pinnacle of service and attention. my order had NO GREEN SAUCE. NOT EVEN THE GREEN SAUCE I WANTED TO PAY FOR. To top it off I didn't even get a receipt, so I have no idea if the $59.00 I paid (YES $59 freaking dollars) even included the order of green sauce I asked for. I got zero utensils, zero napkins, a couple packets of ketchup, a couple packets of mayo AND NOTHING ELSE. I literally got the fried rice, the noodles, a thing of corn with cheese, an order of fries and an order of yucca. $59.00 NO GREEN SAUCE. honestly you could have given me just yucca fries and french fries with a giant tub of green sauce and i'd have left a 5 star review. I mean Peruvian food is synonymous with green sauce. the food needs it!!! obviously living 20 minutes away when i got home i called. at this point it was 8:25 and of course the restaurant closed early due to COVID-19 annoyed at my super expensive dinner that i didn't really enjoy. read more
After eating here once, I had to return with my friends to let them try the delicious food here! If you're planning to arrive here with a big group, plan ahead and reserve! Their seating can be limited. I reserved two days prior to coming and they were able to accommodate our group of 7. My friends and I ordered a whole bunch of dishes and we shared it family style. We ordered the seafood paella, mussels ceviche, shrimp ceviche, plantains, whole and half chicken, and a passionfruit juice pitcher for drinks. The seafood paella tasted amazing and they excel in their flavors. In my previous review, I wrote that the paella tasted acidic for me but this time, it didn't taste acidic at all and I was able to taste more of the seafood flavors. The shrimp ceviche was good, but personally the mussels ceviche offers more flavor. The highlight of the ceviche sauce is the citrus tones. I also have to give a big shout out to our waiter. He is attentive and gives great recommendations. He recommended us the rotisserie chicken and I'm so happy that we followed his advice. The rotisserie chicken here is truly one of the best chickens I've ever tried - the meat was tender, soft, and juicy. I'm so used to eating dry rotisserie chicken from other places, and La Chacra's version blew my mind. The desserts are a nice way to end your meal at La Chacra. I tried all the desserts, but the ice cream stood out most to me! I highly recommend the ice cream. Thank you La Chacra for blessing us with your delicious food! I will definitely return soon! read more
I decided to stop by La Chacra for the first time to have a taste of Peruvian food especially since I pass by it all the time and several friends have recommended it. To be honest I was not sure what to expect but I was told that the seafood rice (arroz con mariscos) and the mussels ceviche were a must. As we were seated, we were given plantain chips and what looked like toasted corn to munch on while we decided what to get. What took me by surprise is the green sauce, or the aji verde. It had a nice acidity to it with some creaminess, spiciness, and freshness from the cilantro. The perfect sauce to go with any meat or fry. We ultimately decided on yucca fries, seafood rice, and mussels ceviche. The seafood rice was definitely the star of the show. The rice had great seafood flavor with a bit of moistness to it. The squid, mussels, clams, and shrimp were cooked perfectly with a slight smokiness. My only gripe is that the mussels and clams had little meat in them. The mussels ceviche packed some powerful acidity with a touch of creaminess. We added a bit of olive oil just to balance the acidity which worked amazing. When it comes to the yucca fries, as I stated earlier the aji verde sauce is the perfect dip for it. The waiter recommended pilsen beer to wash it all down and it was perfect with a squeeze of lime juice. Light and flavorful at the same time. Overall I was quite impressed with La Chacra. I'd definitely come back to try their rotisserie chicken which is one of the items they're known for. Definitely a great local restaurant in the bath beach area! read more

My family and I love this spot. We go regularly and have had just about everything on the menu. The food is always so flavorful. The drinks are strong and visually pleasing. Small yet quaint the atmosphere is nice. Better to sit up front than in the back though. Wait staff are very attentive and the bartender is always on his "A Game". read more

What an amazing Peruvian place in the neighborhood. Came here with my friends for dinner and man was our cravings satisfied and more. We ordered the lomo Saltado, the rotisserie chicken, and steak with fries and egg with a side of salad. The lomo Saltado was soooooo good and full of delicious flavors. The rotisserie chicken was a bit smaller than we expected but was still pretty good. The steak with fries and egg was also really good. My friend really likes the green sauce that comes with the corn kernels in the beginning of our visit, that she ordered a whole pint of it to go. The customer service was pretty good, our waiter was attentive and friendly. We were disappointed that there wasn't any of the dessert we wanted but we will definitely be back to try their tres leche. read more

La Chacra Combo had everything we wanted (albeit a lot of chicken for two people). The chicken was moist and fell off the bone. The salad was a nice cleansing green to add to the meal. The fries with hotdogs were actually better when we baked them the next day. The maduros were a bit sweet, but a good "dessert" option to end the meal. Good local spot for peruvian food! read more
Rating: 4/5 This was the restaurant I've ordered from so far that actually delivered early. It arrived about 25 minutes after I ordered it (it is about a 7 minute drive away if that matters, but I don't think it does because similarly close restaurants have delivered my food very late). Everything came packaged neatly, too. Though the price felt a tad high at first, the quality made up for it. Pescado Frito ($17) was the one that was the least worth it. It's just fried fish fillet with rice, tomato, lime sauce, and barely any yucca. Despite this though, my brother gobbled the fish up. The yucca felt like just slightly larger fries and didn't pack the typical yucca thickness. Edit: 5/10/20 ordered a Ceviche de Pescado ($18) and it was also very skimpy. You really have to be careful about the portion of what you order, seems to swing wildly. The fish itself, obviously the most important part, tasted A1; however, half the peanuts were rotten or kind of off. The Combo la Chacra ($32) is HUGE (see photo). Yes the whole chicken, maduros (plantains), salchipapa (sliced sausages and fries), salad, rice and beans are all part of that combo. I originally ordered it for two people, but they shared their sides with me and my brother, and there was STILL some leftover for dinner. They were especially impressed with the chicken, given that it's easy to cook it dry and tasteless, but La Chacra's chicken turned out delicious. I had the Arroz con Mariscos Paella ($20). It was really good, just the way I like it packed with flavor and tons of seafood and rice. Everybody wanted a bite. I'm really glad this spot was available on GrubHub; it stands out amongst the mostly diners/burgers/pizza options on the site. read more
I have been here quite a few times and decided ti invite 2 new friends to try it. I have introduced a few people here and they also have been coming thru. Today was the 1st time that I had disappointment. The waiter is a good guy and he tried his best. I liked him. He was certainly nervous which shows me the manager may not be as nice. It's too bad because I really liked coming here. Our 1st orders were 1 chicharron de pollo, 1 chicharron de pescado and 1 salchipapa. The kitchen sent 2 chicharron de pollo. We tried both and realized there was no chicharron de pescado. The waiter went over to the "manager " behind the bar to ask what to do. Instead of leaving the already picked at 2nd pollo, looks like the manager said to exchange. It was a kitchen error and they could have just offered a chicharron de pescado, they did not correct the error. We had to ask for the chicharron de pescado 3 to 4 times before we actually got it. By this time, over 30 minutes had passed. That is not good management. I would have certainly given a 5 star rating because the waiter was a nice guy, but it looks like he was limited in making a decision. After this decision, the waiter turned cold due to his embarrassing situation with the manager. He looked like he felt so bad and he actually apologized to us. Our poor waiter Kevin was actually waiting on all the tables alone with minimal help. As I said he is a good guy. The food is really good here, no doubt. When we finally got our chicharron de pescado, it was amazing, but at this time we were not in as good a mood as when we 1st arrived. We decided not to leave and continue dinner. My friend ordered the Lomo salteado which for him was really good, and I ordered the 1/4 chicken combo. It was also very tender and delicious. Also the manager/bartender forgot to make my 2nd pisco sour. I had to ask again, 10 mins later. My friend ordered a classic Patron margarita, it felt a little watered down... more lime than patron. He could be overworked and underpaid, but you should at least try to keep your customers happy. It could also be the owner has strict instructions to be as cheap as possible too. I may never get an answer. My friends ordered a tres leches dessert, it was really moist and delicious. The staff actually sang since it was my birthday dinner. As we were leaving, the new girl and Kevin, our waiter, gave us a nice goodbye. The bartwnder and the other guy...nothing. read more

La Chacra has such a cute ambience inside the restaurant! There's tables, dim lighting and a bar. Overall the food was good, nothing spectacular. Everything we ordered was on the saltier side. The Lomo Saltado was a nice mixture of flavors though! The steak was not too tough and the tomato's in the dish added a nice kick of refreshing flavor to the dish. Mango juice and passionfruit juices are yum!! read more
