I came to Llama Inn with my fiancé for dinner on a Saturday at 6pm. I had initially made a reservation inside but the day was absolutely beautiful so we asked if we could be seated upstairs in their rooftop area which thankfully they were able to accommodate. I'm a huge fan of the Llama restaurants and was saddened by the recent closing of Llama San in the West Village. However, one of the waiters there told me to come try Llama Inn since the style of food is very similar. The space is very nice, offering two different vibes: the inside downstairs area feels more elevated and polished while the rooftop felt open, airy, casual, and reminded us of relaxing dinner during a beach vacation. The service was amazing, our waiter went through the whole menu in detail and gave us suggestions of drinks to order. For drinks we got two pisco sours, one traditional and a passion fruit one. These were amazing and exactly the same as the ones they had at Llama San (a.k.a these are now the best piscos in the city for me)-- they had the perfect tangy flavor, subtle sweetness, and incredibly rich foam. Later during the meal, we also ordered a Llamarita which is their version of a margarita with tequila, mezcal, avocado for a little creaminess, and hints of salt and cinnamon on the rim which was just an incredibly pleasant combination, For food we shared a variety of dishes: - Chicken anticucho: one portion comes with two skewers of juicy and tender chicken. The size was pretty substantial and satisfying. The chicken had a delicious flavor of charcoal, balanced by the spicy ají sauce and crispy/mildly sweet purple potato. Very good! - Trout tartare: one of our favorites of the meal! The fish was super flavorful and had bright, citrus hints. It came topped with a creamy avocado crema, and paired with delicate sweet chips. The ají amarillo on the side gave it a nice aromatic hint! - Ceviche carretillero: more your traditional ceviche except more elevated and spicier! This was amazing! The fish quality was exceptional and I loved how they put fried squid in it which just made it feel extra decadent. Very well executed! - Tiradito: the catch of the day was fluke and it was fresh but I felt that the fish could have been cut a little better (it was a little too fibrous), however the flavor profile was insanely good! With this delightful cilantro oil and leche de Tigre that I wish I could have drank straight from a cup. - Lomo saltado: I was hesitant to order this initially but it was well worth it as the main entree in terms of amount of food. This lomo saltado comes with generous fries, a side of rice, a side of scallion pancakes, and some sauces including a creamy aji and guacamole. The portion was massive and perfect to share. I also loved how you could make your own adventure and pair the lomo with the fries, or the rice, or make it into little tacos wrapped in the scallion pancake. The steak was cooked to perfection, was juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The dish also came with the stir fried tomatoes and onions which were sooo good! For $98 it's definitely enough to feed two people, my only complaint is that I definitely wish there were more steak since the dish felt very carb heavy overall and it did not feel like the $98 was worth it for the smaller steak ratio. I enjoyed it so much I would still order again though! Definitely worth experiencing at least once. - Lucuma sundae: amazing! It reminded me more of a lucuma pudding- thick, rich, and with the beautiful vanilla notes of the fruit. It was perfectly paired with a drizzle of bitter dark chocolate and sweet dulce de leche. The generous whipped cream on the side helped mellow out the richness. It came with flambéed banana which added a beautiful caramelized and sweet flavor. Overall, I really loved Llama Inn and will definitely be coming back. The dishes are well executed and the ambiance is really nice. I also loved their piscos! This is a very different vibe and experience than Llama San but there is enough overlap that it helps quench the nostalgia. Prices are on the higher end but it's a perfect place for a special occasion. Highly recommend.
I came here one evening on a whim and was fortunately able to get a spot (highly recommend reservations here if you can!). The interior of the restaurant is dim and spacious, but the music was a bit loud when I went so it was hard to hear the person I was with. We got the crispy squid ceviche, catch of the day, and the black sesame dessert. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend the crispy squid ceviche as it came with a nice dipping (?) broth that I absolutely loved. The catch of the day was soft, tender, and had an amazing sauce. And, the black sesame was an unexpected dessert/flavor to try at this Peruvian spot, but I loved it. Portions are a bit small, but everything was worth it.
Really incredible experience the service was top-notch. We sat at the chef's counter and it was super cool to watch the cooking take place however I don't feel like it was absolutely necessary for the experience. The vibe was incredible. I didn't see the rooftop upstairs, but I'm sure it was lovely given the rest of the space was and the food was amazing. I've been to llama son and I would say that in definitely Skews more Peruvian than it does Japanese, but the flavors were all so incredible and so intricate. The seafood rice, pork belly skewer, and calamari ceviche were my favorites. Also definitely try the sangria cocktail it was fantastic.
Cute, quaint spot , perfect for date night If you want to watch your pockets, I would suggest that you skip the initial appetizers, for the price and portion we could've done without. But the medium and Lodge play where the star of the show although they come with the price tag.( $100 for the Lomo ) every bite seemed to be worth it. The lobster if you're a seafood lover was amazing and the sauce it's cooked in you could literally pour that on everything . Will definitely be coming back here .
This was a really delicious, creative meal with plenty of vegetarian choices. It's expensive, but worth it. Snow peas - had a really nice crunch to the peas themselves, and from the toasty quinoa topping. The sauce had a fresh, herbal flavor. Jalapenos - a crispy fillo pastry like texture, with a creamy interior and a delicious, tangy sauce on the side. Like an elevated jalapeno popper. Asparagus ceviche - the asparagus was fragrant and had a nice snap to the texture. The leche de tigre is a chilled potato and leek soup, with some fresh tartness to call back to a regular ceviche. The parmesan crisp added a nice crunch and savory, cheesy flavor. Roasted beets - creamy, tart, and just the right amount of sweet. The beets had just the right balance of earthy flavor. The greens lighten up the dish just the right amount. Mint "flan" - I almost skipped dessert and am really glad I didn't, because this was probably the best dish. The custard is incredibly soft, not as firm as typical flan. The syrup wasn't too sweet, and the layer of foam and mint syrup on top added a unique touch.
Ordered a $100 steak lomo saltado to split and it came with 3 bites of steak per person. They covered it in fries so you wouldn't see how small the serving was until you were finished. I called the restaurant and emailed the manager, no response from Dan, the main manager after following up via phone three different times. Incredible scam you guys are running - 5 stars for that!
If I had to sum up Llama Inn, it'd be: trying too hard to be hip and not worth the price tag. While the food at Llama Inn wasn't bad, it was definitely not worth the $100 for the lomo saltado nor the $50 for the Maine lobster. I also didn't like that the server tried to get us to order more by saying that she thought we didn't order enough for 4 people and that they preferred to put in all orders at once. Almost as if trying to prey on any anxiety and goad us into adding more. (FYI - the amount we ordered was just fine for 4 and we weren't hungry after, but if we had ended up hungry, we also thought it'd be better to stop for good pizza nearby given how much the food was compared to the portion sizes.) Drinks were also just okay to me - I think if they're trying to do "hip" drinks right with an Asian influence, they should take notes from Breeze, a Szechuan restaurant in Greenpoint. Gulf shrimp with parmesan: this was good, but not memorable. It was arguably a bit dry as well Lamb sausage: comes with 2 pieces; also good but not memorable. If you're looking for quality lamb, look elsewhere. The lamb was definitely shareable between four people (it's basically two mini lamb hotdogs), but they tried to convince us for 3 minutes to order an extra order so each of us could have our own hot dog even though two of us are not the biggest lamb fans. As they were walking away, we had to clarify a final time to make it clear we only wanted one order Crispy squid ceviche: a "modern" take on Peruvian food as the squid came fried. I think this one was actually yummy, albeit a bit sour, but there was a healthy number of calamari and I thought this was reasonably priced for what I was getting. To be honest though, I'd recommend the Inkan's (another similarly rated Peruvian restaurant) ceviche over this one Maine lobster: this was a new item on the menu. Was cooked with Asian influences, and I think was probably the group's favorite dish of the night. Not worth $50 though, as you can buy a similar tasting dish at other Asian restaurants without the hefty price tag. Think Red Sorghum (in LIC) or any number of Chinese restaurants in Manhattan Lomo saltado: I cannot believe they charge $100 for this. There were maybe 6-8 pieces of beef or so at the bottom. Some of the pancakes were burnt and inedible. Our group laughed that it's sad the best part of the meal might have been the rice, which was basically just rice that had been buttered (was pretty good but who can go wrong with buttered rice?). The guac notes also did not taste well with the tamari or other soy sauce flavors of the dish. The fries were great and perfectly crispy, but why am I paying $100 for a dish that's majority fries...? If you're looking for someplace that actually does lomo saltado well and is reasonably priced for the amount of food you're getting, try Jora Tldr: I probably wouldn't come here again. I'm not quite sure they've nailed the Peruvian and Asian fusion quite right, and I think there are a lot of other restaurants that do Peruvian food and Asian influenced food better for higher quality and a much more reasonable price point
Great food. Got the snow peas, roasted beet salad, pork collar, and flan. The snow peas was pretty unique, I felt like the beet salad wasn't anything special but still good, the pork collar was great because it wasn't a super fatty piece of meat which is what I prefer. The dessert was a flan with some kind of mint sauce on top. It wasn't too sweet and pretty refreshing. Definitely recommend it. Service was pretty slow. Also had to wait a while between the snow peas app and mains.
Haven't heard a single bad thing about Llama Inn and it had been on my summer bucket eats so when my friend asked me to brunch, of course I immediately said yes. Should preface this by saying I lived in Peru for about a month and am a huge fan of Peruvian food, but have found it difficult to come by. We went on Sunday at 2 pm and had a reservation, but it was pretty empty so don't think it's necessary to make one. We asked the server for recommendations and glad we did, because everything was delicious. I'm not much of a drinker for brunch so opted for a drip coffee which was very good. Hard to find good black coffee so I was already pretty impressed with just that. We split everything between the two of us-- ordered the fluke ceviche to start and the lomo saltado and the big breakfast. The ceviche was very good, which came in leche de tigre. Very tart and a little spicy, accompanied by corn and some sweet potatoes. I found the fish to be a bit of a thick cut, but I think that's just a preference. The big breakfast came out next, which has toast, a tamal, pork shoulder, blood sausage, and scrambled eggs. This is a great dish to share as it's plated like a little spread and you can pick at the various items. The meat was very tender and the seasoning was unique and paired wonderfully with the crema. The lomo saltado came out next and this thing was massive. It had the meat on the bottom topped with french fries, two eggs, banana and crema. Also comes with a side of rice. The sauce for the meat was also another acidic vinegar-based concoction which was delicious. The fries on top were super crispy and reminiscent of McDonalds fries (my favorite) while the ones on the bottom got soaked up in the vinegar sauce which were delicious with the meat and eggs. It was a lot of food, but there are few things I enjoy as much as a long slow meal with conversation and we did a pretty good job making our way through almost everything after some time. We lingered here til past 4:30 and the service here was really great. Also a very cute interior with nice spacing between the seats, making it a relaxed vibe. I'm really not much of a bruncher, but this brunch may have changed my perspective! Overall, I think this goes without saying but if you don't like tart acidic flavors full of lime and vinegar, this spot (or Peruvian cuisine as a whole) may not be to your liking.
Gorgeous interior and absolute gems on the wait staff! The food is also incredible, but way way way over priced. The Latino in me was appalled at paying $100 for lomo saltado. The dish barely had any meat in it anyway basically paying $100 for mostly fries. It was delicious yes, but I don't think I could justify over paying that much again. Likely a one and done here or would come back with like 4 people and split it. Unfortunately loses a star for the price.
Trendy spot for Peruvian food in Brooklyn. I would highly recommend having a reservation here, especially for the weekends. The food was decent and definitely unique. We came here with a group of four and shared all the dishes. We started off with cocktails, 2 different ceviches, and beef heart skewers. Definitely some of the most unique ceviche flavors I have had - both were incredibly refreshing. We then split the lomo saltado - the most highly anticipated dish of the night. Unfortunately 3/4 of us found it incredibly salty and the steak to fry ratio was completely off considering the price (we probably each had 2 morsels of beef). We finished with the olive oil cake which was okay, nothing to write home about. Overall cool spot to check out but will probably not be returning any time soon.
Sad to say this will probably be my last time dining here. Llama Inn used to be a place where you can order anything on the menu and EVERYTHING was stupid delicious and amazing. Now as prices have gone up, service and quality has definitely gone down. We had issues with our two steaks and had to send both back. Then they came back out at two different times and at two different temperatures after we were told "it just comes medium". The ambiance is great and I guess that's what you're paying for. Previously we'd take a car to Llama Inn and home as a treat for a great dinner but now it's just another overly expensive night out going.

An excellent option for a special occasion or anniversary. However, you can tell it's trying very hard (and coming close) to a Michelin star (but a bib gourmand is still quite good). Very hard to get reservations on short notice, so plan ahead! The food is nuanced, creative, and very tasty. They do a great job combining Peruvian and Latin American ingredients with contemporary American touches. We didn't have a bad dish! Expect to pay about $100 per person. Food: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5. Great vibes with indoor plants and light wooden furniture. Slightly loud at dinner when crowded but off peak hours are tranquil Value: 4/5. A steal at happy hour prices, otherwise a spot for a special occasion. Came here on a Wednesday to catch up with a friend. We made a reservation for 6:15 pm to take advantage of their happy hour and when we arrived, there was only two other people at the bar. However, by around 7:30 pm the restaurant was pretty full so it may still be best to make a reservation. We opted to do their happy hour special, which is a ceviche + main for $50. They also have half off all bottles of wine during HH, and our waiter helped us select a nice bottle of white to pair with the food. For the ceviche we got the catch of the day and tuna. Between the two, I preferred the tuna although I will note the portions on both were pretty small. I'm assuming that the portion is the same as if you ordered it ala carte, but if I had paid the full price for it I would have been disappointed in the size. For mains, we got the chicken ala brasa and arroz con mariscos. Both of these were really solid-- cooked well, and the portion felt significant. Of the two, I think it really depends on what you're craving for which one I would recommend. The chicken was definitely more hefty/juicy but the arroz was very flavorful. We also opted to get a slice of the key lime pie for dessert, which was really good! The meringue was torched and it was very zesty and not too sweet. The servers were all really nice and they also do inkind, so combining that with HH can really get you a nice discount. I think without the HH pricing I would have thought the food was good, but more of a special occasion than a regular spot to visit. So do yourself a favor and come to try the HH menu. read more

Another jewels of the "in" scene of Brooklyn: Llama Inn, a Peruvian restaurant with cool ambiente, friendly and knowledgeable staff and spectacular dishes. Chicken Anticucho, Trout tartage, Ceviche caretillero, tuna ceviche, 1/2 chicken, and Lomo saltado all were outstanding with beautiful presentation, super tenderness, and colorful flavors. read more

Very tart and a little spicy, accompanied by corn and some sweet potatoes. I found the fish to be a bit of a thick cut, but I think that's just a preference. The big breakfast came out next, which has toast, a tamal, pork shoulder, blood sausage, and scrambled eggs. This is a great dish to share as it's plated like a little spread and you can pick at the various items. The meat was very tender and the seasoning was unique and paired wonderfully with the crema. The lomo saltado came out next and this thing was massive. It had the meat on the bottom topped with french fries, two eggs, banana and crema. Also comes with a side of rice. The sauce for the meat was also another acidic vinegar-based concoction which was delicious. The fries on top were super crispy and reminiscent of McDonalds fries (my favorite) while the ones on the bottom got soaked up in the vinegar sauce which were delicious with the meat and eggs. It was a lot of food, but there are few things I enjoy as much as a long slow meal with conversation and we did a pretty good job making our way through almost everything after some time. We lingered here til past 4:30 and the service here was really great. Also a very cute interior with nice spacing between the seats, making it a relaxed vibe. I'm really not much of a bruncher, but this brunch may have changed my perspective! Overall, I think this goes without saying but if you don't like tart acidic flavors full of lime and vinegar, this spot (or Peruvian cuisine as a whole) may not be to your liking. read more
Gorgeous interior and absolute gems on the wait staff! The food is also incredible, but way way way over priced. The Latino in me was appalled at paying $100 for lomo saltado. The dish barely had any meat in it anyway basically paying $100 for mostly fries. It was delicious yes, but I don't think I could justify over paying that much again. Likely a one and done here or would come back with like 4 people and split it. Unfortunately loses a star for the price. read more
Trendy spot for Peruvian food in Brooklyn. I would highly recommend having a reservation here, especially for the weekends. The food was decent and definitely unique. We came here with a group of four and shared all the dishes. We started off with cocktails, 2 different ceviches, and beef heart skewers. Definitely some of the most unique ceviche flavors I have had - both were incredibly refreshing. We then split the lomo saltado - the most highly anticipated dish of the night. Unfortunately 3/4 of us found it incredibly salty and the steak to fry ratio was completely off considering the price (we probably each had 2 morsels of beef). We finished with the olive oil cake which was okay, nothing to write home about. Overall cool spot to check out but will probably not be returning any time soon. read more

Sad to say this will probably be my last time dining here. Llama Inn used to be a place where you can order anything on the menu and EVERYTHING was stupid delicious and amazing. Now as prices have gone up, service and quality has definitely gone down. We had issues with our two steaks and had to send both back. Then they came back out at two different times and at two different temperatures after we were told "it just comes medium". The ambiance is great and I guess that's what you're paying for. Previously we'd take a car to Llama Inn and home as a treat for a great dinner but now it's just another overly expensive night out going. read more

First time here and we absolutely loved it! We came for the happy hour; $12 cocktails and $50 for an app and entree. Everything was so fresh and my party purposefully ate slow to savor every bite. Our server was so lovely, and we will definitely be returning. read more
This restaurant was absolutely stunning on the inside! Greenery everywhere with the bar in the center of the room & kitchen open for watching. The service was great and helped with recommendations. Our food was amazing, everything was so flavorful. The rice main was incredible and lots of seafood within. We also LOVED the crudo. Definitely recommend this spot! read more
This quaint and trendy Peruvian restaurant is perfect for a date night or to catch up with girlfriends like I just did. The food is original and rustic chic in concept and not like anything you can get anywhere else the city. They have a limited menu but were more than happy to point out dishes that were vegetarian or gluten free to accommodate some friends. I stopped in on my way to a birthday in Brooklyn after a friend recommended it. Arriving to a packed house, I asked if there were any seats at the bar for drinks and dinner, and they were able to seat us quickly. We had a two-hour window due to reservations, so if you're visiting on a busy night, walk-ins are possible, but reservations are definitely recommended. I ordered a drink while waiting for my friend, and ended up having two before they arrived. The cocktails were fantastic, especially their small-but-mighty martini--it may look tiny, but it packs a punch! (Consider yourself warned; it made the next morning a little rough, though we admittedly kept the night going afterward.) The appetizers were fresh and thoughtfully crafted, with a clear emphasis on quality ingredients. Just keep in mind, the dishes are small; after four or five plates, we still felt a bit peckish. So, if you're hungry, go for a few extra proteins or carbs to fill up. All in all, Llama Inn had great prices, quick service, and a fun atmosphere. So i've heard about this place for years & decided to go here for a GNO. 1) Vibes are amazing. You can tell the decor and all other things (silverware, plates, glasses) were carefully picked out & it makes the experience better. + if you get the corner booth seat because it is great people watching. 2) Drinks are on point. Super yummy and balanced. 3) Loved the apps we got - the squid ceviche is a must. Cauliflower was good but not as memorable as the squid ceviche. I could have drank the squid ceviche sauce. 4) Finally the main - the $100 Lomo Saltado. Don't get me wrong here, the dish was absolutely delicious. The meat was like butter it was so tender, but $100 is extremelyyyy steep for the dish. There's not THAT much meat under the bed of fries, but super delicious. Worth trying once! read more
Staffs were very friendly and accommodating. We made reservations however some of our friends were stuck in traffic, the waiter explained to us the menu. Food was delicious, fresh and healthy. I would pass on the Crudite, the Bao is interesting if you're not allergic to seafood. Would recommend trying the Larry and Japanese Sweet Potatoes as savory items and the sweet item to try is Japanese Pancakes, it so sweet and fluffy! The ambiance is zen especially on a rainy day. Honestly, one of the more noteworthy scams I've encountered during my NYC dining experiences. Ordered the Lomo Saltado expecting a decent portion of steak and tomatoes but all I got was a few small pieces of steak with a HUGE pile of greasy fries on top, along with carbs (rice)...and then more carbs (many onion pancakes) all for the low, low price of $100. Honestly, the steak itself probably cost the restaurant, like, $20 tops and the rice, pancakes and fries cost them like $10. That's a ~$70 charge for labor. Ridiculous. read more

I finally made it in time for happy hour (M-F from 5-6:30) and tried: + Llama del rey + La calzada + Cariñito + Fog catcher + Fluke ceviche + Baked oysters + bok choy + Iberico pork collar + Beef tongue + Side of fries + Stone fruit dessert My favorite cocktails were the llama del rey and fog catcher, while the top dishes were the oysters and bok choy. That bok choy is NYC's best-kept salad secret. Dessert was also awesome! read more

I have meant to check this restaurant out for some time and I finally made it. A visually appealing restaurant from the moment you enter with lots of greenery. Friendly and helpful staff, explained the Peruvian tapas style meal to us. Drinks were delicious. Started with the gulf shrimp which was very tasty but a little awkward to eat as a group of 4 since it was one shrimp and required removal from the shell. The lamb sausage was spectacular and easy to share. We also had (not photographed) the roasted beets salad and pork shoulder, both amazing. Finished with the arroz con mariscos which was absolutely phenomenal. Too full for dessert. Maybe next time. read more

Well, it is in a nice neighborhood in Brooklyn and the restaurant has nice decor. However the food... , "nada que ver". Started off with a crispy squid ceviche at $26. It was a bowl of Leche de Tigre with a side of calamari. We ordered chicha morada for $13 each. The glass was only about 4/5 full and 1/4 of that was froth and not chicha . It was not sweet enough. The anticuchos were two pieces for $16 and it was too spicy to eat. Didn't even taste like beef heart. The lamb sausage for $16 came out like two pieces of mini breakfast sausage on a mini roll. The pork escabeche was so so at best. Maybe the food here is good, but it wasn't tonight read more
My friend and I had a lovely dinner at Llama Inn. We got the Lamb Sausage snack, the Roasted Beets, the Pork Shoulder Escabeche, and the Arroz con Mariscos, and the Flan for dessert. Overall the food was delicious. Our favorite was the Roasted Beets dish, which was well balanced in flavor and texture. I also enjoyed the Flan - it was uniquely prepared and was not overly sweet. The only downside is that the lime flavor for thr Arroz con Marisco was a bit overpowering, although the seafood was fresh and delicious. We also got a round of cocktails, which were excellent. The staff were also friendly and attentive. The space itself was very slick with some cute branding by their llama logo. And there is a nice outdoors space. All in all, it is a nice experience, and I would recommend! read more

We opted for the Trust the Chef ($80 per person) which came with 9 dishes for us to try. Food was good, however, one dish was the prawn and they definitely could have at least given 2 prawns instead of just 1 little prawn for 3 people to share. For drinks, we got the La Santa and Llama Del Rey and they were both good. Service from the bussers was attentive like refilling water and clearing the table. The waiter who took our order was just okay. read more

My partner wanted to eat out in BK for a Friday dinner and made a reservations here. We haven't had Peruvian food in a while so, we were both excited. However, I soon learned that this restaurant under the bridge was just not my vibe. Vibe: 2.5/5 I am a simple hole in the wall girl with old navy jeans. You walk in are blinded by everyone presenting their brand preferences from Prada to Gucci and date night looks. It was pretty loud honestly, definitely a time to sit next to your partner than across. It was not my vibe but, a good date night location for the younger crowd. I noticed a lot of people on tech there. Food: 3/5 We order 6 dishes and one of them had to be their "family size" branzino so we wouldn't starve. We ordered two ceviches, salmon and red snapper, ($20+ each) that you could count the seven pieces on your plate. We got the pigs tails, which was my favorite, is like eating chicken feet. You have alot of fat and little meat. Finally, we got the branzino and seafood rice ( arroz con mariscos) which I won't say wasn't moist and delicious but was $72. Finally, we ended with a chocolate cake which was nice because it was multi-textured due the brittle, dry chocolate cake, and creamy ice cream below. We weren't suprised by the bill just hungry. Service: 3/5 I think we must gone during a very busy day since our experience was so different. We sat down fine but, as the service started the service to our table was just disappointing. Like I had to flag down a waiter just to refill our water pitcher and that took over 15 mins. They were great at explaining the food especially since I am lactose intolerant and pointed items I could eat. All in all, I won't be going back. I spent too much money to be hungry. But, happy to say I went once as I head to Queens for my ceviche fix. read more

Ambiance and Food is great! Service is also attentive and welcoming. Steak was amazinggggg, so much that I wish the plate would have more portions of steak; I wouldn't consider the Lolo Saltado a shareable plate because you can't have more than 2 tacos each. But it comes with a lot of fries so it would be a lot for a single person to have alone, they really just need to removed some fries and add some steak ;) Aside from that I loved trying new plates and different styles of ceviches. I thought everything here was just ok! Wasn't super impressed by the food. We had the ceviche special to start - it was decent but not super memorable. The pig tails were a unique offering so it was exciting to try, but ultimately I probably wouldn't get them again. The lomo saltado was gigantic and also a unique experience, but the flavors were just meh. The star of the show was really the dessert, the banana mousse, which I highly recommend. Only reason i'd go back would be to get the dessert again. The atmosphere is generally nice but some of the tables are very close together, especially if you're dining as a pair. Wow, just wow! I've been having a bad streak with eating out and was starting to become jaded with the quality of food in NYC, but Llama Inn really helped course correct me. The food, the drinks, the people, the ambience, the overall experience was just fantastic! I dined here with just one other friend and snagged a table at the 'chef's counter' (which I highly recommend!). You really get a front row view into the kitchen's operations which made for a really cool dining experience. You can tell a lot of thought had been put into the design of the restaurant - despite being only a few feet away from the chefs, I did not feel a heat wave from the kitchen. I started with the Llama Del Rey cocktail which was strong.... but delicious! The food menu is seasonal and changes frequently. We got the salmon ceviche to start which was fresh, bright and had a surprising spicy kick to it (but good). Next was the Chicken Thigh Skewers. Get this and thank me later. The thighs were cooked over a Japanese charcoal grill so had this incredible smoky aroma to it but was still incredibly juicy. The crispy potatoe slices on the top add extra texture to this already incredible dish. We opted for the Branzino as our main. Our waiter suggested we order a side of the scallion pancakes and use this to make 'tacos' with the fish. This should be recommended to anyone who orders the fish. So so tasty. The pancakes were fluffy with some nice char to it. Branzino was just perfect. Well seasoned and cooked perfectly too. I believe there were some nori(?) on the outside of the fish which added an amazing umami taste. Be warned though, despite having most of it's bones removed, there are still some left, so be careful when eating. We had a chocolate cake for desert. This was onto of some of the best ice cream I've ever had as well as baked quinoa (?!? I didn't even know you could do this) which added this incredible crunch to the desert). TL/DR - this is now one of my favorite restaurants in Brooklyn. Everything is tasty. Ask your waiter for recommendations and run with it, you won't be disappointed. read more

Llama San is like some fusion paradise sent from the gods, it's so good. So how is it that Llama Inn is so much worse? It's like dining with Tom Brady's out-of-shape younger brother who doesn't know what a touchdown is. The food was fine, but nothing to write home about. My Papa Rellena had a burnt fried egg that ruined the overall taste. The Bok Choy salad was lovely, but had too much dressing. The Fried Rice Omelette was decent, as was the Steak, so if you have to get a proper brunch entree, get those instead. The Heirloom Cacao Hull tea (they were out of green tea, for some reason), is gross. Don't get it. Where Llama Inn really lost me was our server. She was the most frowny, unhappy server I've encountered in a long time. It wasn't even busy when we were there (our resy was for 11:30am), yet she acted like she didn't want to be there, repeatedly forgot our requests for more water, and barely thanked us at the end of our meal. I know times are tough for service folk, but we were very pleasant to her, so why the 'tude? read more
Oh where can I even start ??? This place absolutely blew my mind. We came here for brunch while visiting, this place was a James beard nominee, so we had to give it a try. The ambiance of the place was wonderful and was very tropical inside. Lots of plants and open air space that really set the mood. Our server and host were extremely helpful, guiding with preferred menu choices and cocktails to begin our tasteful journey. We had several appetizers and each one had unique flavor profiles that were rather pleasing to the palette. The oysters had to be my favorite for sure. The cocktails each had select Peruvian liquors that matched well with all of the dishes. We all tried other things on the menu ranging from the pork shoulder, chicken thigh and mushroom toast. Every bite was cherished! I would love to return here. They said their dinner menu was even better. ! read more

This place looks amazing and comfortable, a perfect environment for a lovely date night. The food, however, is aesthetically unique but nothing too special in terms of flavors. The portions are mostly on the small side for the price of the dishes. The bass was very bland, even with the special sauce that accompanied the dish. The scallop and the fluke were different, with a blend of citrus, tanginess, and sweetness, but not really that delicious. Overall, our experience was a decent one and the staff were incredibly friendly, whereas the service was also on point and quick. However, just be aware that if you order the same dishes we did, chances are you may need something extra or you will end up leaving a bit hungry still. Thank you for reading and good luck! read more
