I wanted to order a quick meal for dinner! It was take out but the service was quick and it's lovely inside the restaurant. You can sit and relax and enjoy the ambiance! Looking forward to returning!

We sat outside in the back patio, and the service and food were fantastic! The fried rice was delicious, as was the roasted chicken. Highly recommend you eat here the next time you're in Brooklyn.

Amazing Peruvian spot - all the dishes were top notch and the service was great! Definitely ask for more green sauce at the start of the meal, we went through so much of it because of how was good it was. Spot is good for a quick dinner and seems like you might be able to walk in!

We had such an awesome and delicious dinner here! Really, this was the best Peruvian food I ever had. We were a fairly large group, so we got to try a lot of the menu. We started with the ceviche, which was insanely good. The chunks of fish were pretty large, and the portion was quite big too. We also got the Chino-Latino fried rice dish Chaufa with sausage, which really hit the spot. We also got the rotisserie chicken, Aji de Gallina, and the Lomo Saltado, and everything was so delicious. The restaurant's spicy sauce was also a great complement to the flavors of each dish. We finished the night with a delicious slice of Tres Leches cake. The wonderful staff made this dinner even better. They were very kind in explaining the menu to us, and the overall ambiance of this restaurant was splendid--not too crammed together but still cozy. Looking forward to be back!

My fiancé and I popped in for a quick bite and I highly recommend checking out this place! The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. The highly of our meal was the Jalea--it was so flavorful and the texture was cooked perfectly. We'll definitely be coming back to try out other items on the menu!

That set the tone of attentive service, which continued throughout an exceptional meal in Bath Beach. This area is busy, in a locals doing their thing kind of way. It's a real neighborhood, and La Chacra is a great reason to check it out. We initially had decided on ordering the Combo La Chacra, which consists of a whole rotisserie chicken, yellow rice with red beans, an avocado salad, an order of salchipapas, and an order of maduros. We added an extra half chicken, and thought "that's a wrap". However, there was an appetizer special of thinly sliced octopus prepared Peruvian style that needed to be ordered too. The service was excellent. Not overwhelming, but just right. Dishes were cleared, napkins replaced, straw wrappers taken away as soon as they hit the table. It's not something that I'm used to writing about, but needed to be said. And then, the food. It was outstanding. Compared to both the basic, and the high end Peruvian restaurants that I've been to throughout the city, La Chacra is far and away the best. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and felt intentional. Nothing was just thrown on a plate. As full as we were, and we were quite full, there was no way that we were leaving without trying something from the desert menu. Another wise choice, as both the flan and the tres leche cake were fantastic. To wrap this one up, this spot is a solid five stars. The prices are very reasonable and the food, service, and charming atmosphere will have us returning soon.

Unfortunately, the service was disappointing due to confusion around happy hour pricing. We visited around 1 PM and specifically confirmed with staff that certain drinks and our ceviche would be charged at happy hour prices. However, when the bill arrived, we were charged full price. After we questioned it, we were told happy hour pricing required sitting at the bar, even though the menu only mentions that restriction for the 4-6 PM time period. After discussing it twice, they adjusted the bill, which we appreciated. Still, the situation felt misleading and could have been avoided with clearer communication and more transparent pricing.

The ceiling over the bar featured artfully placed corn husks. They had two mocktail options. I had the chicha morada. It was sweet, but light. To start, we had the maitake ceviche. The mushrooms were perfectly firm and complemented nicely by the corn and carrots. The sauce was savory and tangy. Delicious enough to drink! They don't have any vegetarian entrees so I opted for the gnocchi with a side of the brussel sprouts sans bacon. The gnocchi had a rich cheese and melted in your mouth. The brussel sprouts were nicely roasted with a slightly sweet glaze. Two people joined our table late and they let us move to a larger one without issue. Portion sizes were small, especially given the price point, but otherwise, it was great for a splurge.

There are not a lot of options in the area, so we decided to stop in and grab a drink. It's a tiny, blink and you miss it type of spot with a handful of tables and a small bar inside. We were greeted and offered to sit at the bar since we were just going to have drinks (we had just ate at another restaurant). The bartender was very friendly and conversational during our visit. At the recommendation of a local patron, we opted for the happy hour margaritas, tamarind and blackberry. They were both really refreshing, with the tamarind being a bit sweeter than the blackberry. The food smelled delicious, so it was kind of a bummer that we had already had dinner elsewhere. It's definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood and worth checking out.

We ordered the Roasted Half Chicken ($18.72) and Lomo Saltado ($31.20). The chicken was good and filling, though some of the white meat was a bit bland. When I added the hot sauces and paired it with the Mexican rice and beans, it was perfect though. I'm not usually a rice or beans person, but this combination made the meal better. The lomo saltado is a classic Peruvian dish with tender steak, onions, and tomatoes. Usually I see this dish paired with fries, but they opted for chunks of potato instead next to a bed of rice. Overall, it was a delicious meal that was satisfying and fulfilling. Note that they offer cash and card prices.

We made a reservation for 6:15 pm to take advantage of their happy hour and when we arrived, there was only two other people at the bar. However, by around 7:30 pm the restaurant was pretty full so it may still be best to make a reservation. We opted to do their happy hour special, which is a ceviche + main for $50. They also have half off all bottles of wine during HH, and our waiter helped us select a nice bottle of white to pair with the food. For the ceviche we got the catch of the day and tuna. Between the two, I preferred the tuna although I will note the portions on both were pretty small. I'm assuming that the portion is the same as if you ordered it ala carte, but if I had paid the full price for it I would have been disappointed in the size. For mains, we got the chicken ala brasa and arroz con mariscos. Both of these were really solid-- cooked well, and the portion felt significant. Of the two, I think it really depends on what you're craving for which one I would recommend. The chicken was definitely more hefty/juicy but the arroz was very flavorful. We also opted to get a slice of the key lime pie for dessert, which was really good! The meringue was torched and it was very zesty and not too sweet. The servers were all really nice and they also do inkind, so combining that with HH can really get you a nice discount. I think without the HH pricing I would have thought the food was good, but more of a special occasion than a regular spot to visit. So do yourself a favor and come to try the HH menu.
