I have been looking for a place in Brooklyn that serves chicken like this. Normally you would have to go to Queens to get your fix. I took my wife and son, it wasn't busy on a weekday for lunch. Was seated and ordered quickly, they brought out 3 bottles of sauce; green sauce, mayo and ketchup. I ordered the 1/2 chicken with pork fried rice, 3 ribs with pork fried rice and a side of fries. The chicken just fell off the bone I mean like when you pick up the leg the meat slowly starts to slip off of the bone. This chicken is next level tender, moist and you hit it with that green sauce - WOW! The ribs were also amazing, cooked low and slow for a while they also fall right off the bone. This is the most affordable place for Peruvian chicken. We always order the whole chicken and their pork fried rice. The chicken never disappoint with their green sauce is perfect. I was intrigued why this restaurant with excellent, tasty food only got an overall rating just above 3-stars, but in fact it is no surprise: Almost every review and tip points to the same thing- fabulously juicy chicken and lackluster customer service/bad attitudes. So my review has very little to add: I only come here for Peruvian chicken now- even better than Coco Roco in Park Slope. The chicken Is savory and juicy, paired perfectly with rice & beans. I only do take out, so can't speak on in house service, but the folks on register are just dry and not too friendly. But i guess they figure the food is good enough that we'll be back anyway. I just feel though that it takes less energy to smile and say like, "hi, what can I get you?" **Update** I have returned twice since last review, and both times were much warmer and friendlier. The green sauce is nice and creamy and the maduros were huge. It's not plentiful nor a good value - just that each one were essentially 1/3 of a plantain where it really should be 1/5 or 1/4. And also the ribs - I didn't find any Peruvian about them. Rather they were reminiscent of the ones you'd find at a Chinese take out, but drier. I would give this place 3.5 stars. I came here for dinner on a Saturday night with a group of 5 people. It's a bit chaotic here with no real host to seat customers. We pretty much sat ourselves at a table in the back. We ordered two 1/2 rotisserie chicken portions (can only order a whole chicken for takeout which doesn't make much sense), whole rack of ribs (12 ribs), maduros (sweet fried plaintains), fried yuca, two orders of rice with beans, and salchipapas (hot dogs with French fries). The portions were larger than I expected. The chicken was tasty and juicy especially with their spicy green cilantro sauce. The green sauce could be spicier. The salchipapas, fried yuca, maduros, and rice with beans were all delicious. The ribs were a bit dry. Service was a bit slow and inconsistent. I would probably come back but I'll stick to takeout. I've been vainly searching for a chicken fresh off the rotisserie for years now. Everywhere I went I got chicken that was reheated, more often than not dry. My hopes were raised when I walked in to see the multiple rotisserie banks with their spinning chickens. And those hopes were met when I happily consumed the Chicken & Ribs combo ($12.95). The moist chicken was intensely, deliciously, spiced. Ribs had a slightly sweet, subtle spicing that let the natural porkiness shine through. Great flavorsome (barely spicy) green sauce too. This is a Peruvian place, and the there is a hint of cumin in the taste, but this is one of those rare Yelp confluences of 5 star price meets 5 star food. For $6.50 I had the best, most succulent and meaty ribs I've had since I've lived in New York City. Forget the food trucks. Forget the special smoking techniques. Well have eaten here twice. The first time here decided to deviate and try something that was not a main rotisserie dish. So I had the Pollo Saltado dish which consisted of chicken cutlet, onions, tossed in french fries with rice and beans. This dish would be rated for me at 2 stars at best, there was barely any chicken and its quite strange to have french fries tossed with onions in some clear sauce that made the french fries soggy. That's for me the dish seemed like a starch overdose. I did have the Platano Maduro which cost extra and was very well prepared. Now the second time I tried the main staple, #1-1/2 Chicken combo with Rice and Beans. The chicken was very well cooked, moist interior with a crispy skin. The size of the chicken was much larger than other places that charge more for a smaller bird. The rice and beans were very good. The chicken was not seasoned very well or the seasoning was just not enough, I like a good seasoned bird. Overall a good place to find some of the best rotisserie chicken in Sunset Park. We loved the chicken so much, we bought a whole chicken and a couple of cans of Inca Kola to take home for dinner the next day. The ladies in the front are extremely brief and rude, so we would always take our food to-go. One of the waitresses has a particularly nasty attitude... Today was the final straw. When we started eating here many years ago, we asked the short, rude waitress if the beans had pork or lard and she replied "no". It's been about 2 years since I've eatten here and I asked a new waitress about pork or lard in the beans, she replied yes. When I asked if this was new, she said, "No, they've always been made that way." This is a huge problem because my husband is Muslim. Oh man ! This is by far the worst dining out experience I've ever had. First of all when you walk into this spot it smells like a Chinese takeout place . I asked if we could sit since she looked so upset and she said yeah but only in the corner whatever we were just hungry. I know Peruvian food I've been working around Peruvian food for three years . If a place that's supposedly Peruvian can't make a decent lomo saltado it's not Peruvian at all. This was by far the worst lomo I've ever tasted it had no flavor was cold undercooked and looked so gross . The rice they served it with was obviously old. The salchipapas we got literally looked like they were fried and dropped on the plate no salt no nothing added. It was horrible . I asked for a green tea and one of the trolls was like no the machine is off already like I said its 8 there is no reason for that. Whatever I got some water . When the waitress took our order I said thank you when she brought our drinks I said thank you when she brought the food out I said thank you , either this bitch is mute or she was just being rude .. The worst part is they were putting the chairs on the other tables up and mopping the floors already while we were waiting and trying to consume what they call food and commenting on how they still had one table giving us dirty looks which pissed me off because like I said we were there an hour before closing not 5 minuets before. We were there at 8 we waited 10 minuets for someone to come take our order 10 minuets for the food to come out and we left this place at 8:30 because that food was gross that service was horrible and I was pissed . If you're ever in this neighborhood like me and pass this place by chance like me keep walking this is just disgusting the service and food. Let's ignore the take-out only vibe and the dining hall style decor/seating in this place. That doesn't matter because the price/flavor profile is more than enough to make this place worth it. I visited the first time recently with my husband, having previously only experienced Peruvian food at the Northern Blvd crowded behemoth, Pio Pio. So it was nice to be able to sit down and eat this kind of food minus the stressful setting with lines out the door that is the standard at Pio Pio (and I still have no idea why). Chicken was flavorful, the garlic sauce was very tasty and the accompanying yucca frita and fried rice were nice too. We had dinner for 2 and leftovers for lunch the next day for $25, can't complain. A good place to get your fix if you're specifically craving Peruvian-style roast chicken. read more

The rotisserie like others mentioned is deserving of it's 5 star rating on it's own . What more can be said other than the chicken is down right perfect. Add some of that green sauce and wow. To make matters even better, the frickin rice and beans, fried yuca and plantains are downright superbbbbbb also. The other things I tried in this restaurant are the sweet and sour chicken which I think is over cooked and slightly chewy and the italian chicken entree which I can't say ANYTHING kind about . I'd like this restaurant to get better with it's salad. Although its simple and taste good with the french dressing sauce , they can add more to it like avocados and carrots etc and also come up with another entree every month or so because i doubt many people buy that italian chicken entree. I used to love here. The new younger staff they have are extremely rude!! They snatch money and if you don't speak spanish, they treat you like less than.
