Came here to give a try on the ramen. It was $25pp and it was just okay in my opinion. The portion is truly big though so it is worth your money to spend here if you are very hungry. I eat a lot but i only could finish half of it. Both of the ramen tasted okay so i would recommend this place as a comfort ramen in town. P.S. the owner might be the same as tokyo katsu sando as the POS machine is the same as tokyo katsu sando. Cheers! I hope this feedback helps!

Butter and Corn Miso Ramen ($16.95)
C. H.

I am surprised this restaurant is not busy on a Friday evening. We stopped by at 5 pm and were the only customers. Since this restaurant is known for their miso ramen, we placed an ordered of the butter and corn miso ramen and the spicy miso ramen. I ordered the spicy miso ramen. The miso broth was rich and thicker than other ramen broths. It coated the noodles nicely. There was a good spicy kick. I am not sure if the noodles are made in house as they tasted average. The chashu was on the lean side. Also, there was only one chashu slice when I usually expected two slices. I did not like the lemon slices presented in the bowl. I should have asked them to be put on the side so that I do not get my fingers greasy. The gyoza was fried nicely and tasted as expected. No complaints on the gyoza. Service was great. Water and menus were dropped off shortly after we were seated. Food arrived fairly quickly. Staff wore face masks and checked vaccination passports. Hand sanitizer was available. The price is bit on the higher side compared to other ramen restaurants in the area. It would be great if they included two slices of chashu as part of their standard order portions. The butter and corn miso ramen was the best value because you get a whole egg and two slices of chashu.

Maybe it's because I was starving when I ate this, but I thought the ramen was great! Broth tasted super good, noodles were the right amount of chewy, and the meat was nice and juicy. I got the Miso Chashu ramen which I would recommend. It's definitely quite heavy, as ramen usually is. Staff was also very friendly! Docked one point just for the price; $20 for a bowl is a bit expensive but I understand it's right off Robson so you are paying for location as well

I'm always looking to try new ramen places, so when I was walking around trying to figure out what I wanted for lunch, my eyes fell upon this restaurant and I decided to give it a try. I came for lunch on a Thursday around 12:45 and it was pretty empty. I got seated immediately. They have a small outside patio as well, but I sat inside where it was pretty hot and stuffy. I had to shed all my layers, and even then I was sweating as I ate my ramen. They have a good tapas menu with happy hour from 2-5 pm, which is rare to see at a ramen place. See my picture for their happy hour food menu. According to their menu, their #1 ramen was the butter and miso ramen ($13.95), so that's what I went with. I'm typically not a miso ramen type of person, and this might actually be the first time I've ever ordered it. I like that you can customize the thickness and softness of the noodles, which is a nice extra. The ramen comes with actual butter in it, and you're supposed to push it down into the broth so that it melts in the broth. I'm glad I tried it once but it was a little too greasy for me so I would probably skip this next time. I liked the miso base but wasn't too impressed by the chashu, which was a little dry. I liked the addition of the corn as it complemented the sweetness of the broth well without making it too sweet. Service was quick and I had no trouble flagging down one of the servers whenever I needed something, as it wasn't crowded at all.

Delicious Japaeense Tapas and Authentic Sapporo Ramen in downtown Vancouver I highly recommend their Green onions/Cheese DASHI MAKE!! Is layers of handmade tamago egg with geen onions/cheese! It's very delicious and it warms you up for this COLD weather My second top pick is their Cha-Shu Plate ! one of Koyukira special dish, very tender chasiu with baked cheese and tomato on top ! Very unique sauce as well!! Yummy yummy ! The chicken Nanban is super juicy &crispy, its spicy which goes so well with the mayo potato salad on the side !! The Japanese Pankes is a the pizza version Takoyaki, with lots of seaweed and special sauce I love the butter ramen the most! Very rich soup esp with the melted butter! Can choose thick or thin ramen, and hard, regular or softness of the ramen! I must mention their Happyy Hour 50% off some dishes and beer for only $4.95!!! Very good deal

Located on a side street alongside Robson, Koyuki is one of the many ramen locations one can find Downtown. It's almost hidden status gives it the one up on many other nearby locations as one can be reasonably certain they can get in quite quickly. They're also armed with what they feel is a good unique dish. There are definitely things to like about Koyuki. It's a somewhat middle sized restaurant but they do a pretty good job of making it feel spacious. There's a fair amount of tables to be seated at and a counter by the entrance to fit in folks. I liked the aesthetics that are up and around. It gives a nice sense that you're in a restaurant that is trying their best to provide an authentic Japanese experience. The biggest advantage is probably that the restaurant is located a bit off the main streets. It's not as popular meaning one can be assured of being seated and having a nice meal. I ordered the corn and butter ramen as appears to be their specialty. Off the top, I'm a fan of how much stuff you get in the one bowl. Egg, bamboo shoots, seaweed, green onions, and even a small fish cake along with the cha-shu. I thought all the components were good overall. Everything felt rich to eat. The noodles were customizable to a degree in which you could have them hard or soft, and thick or thin. That was done pretty well additionally. I also enjoyed the corn and thought that part of the dish was a nice addition to ramen. What didn't work for me was the broth and the butter. When I want to have ramen, I want to have a delicious and rich broth to drink as well. Something that keeps me going and want to have more. This broth didn't really do it for me. While I was having my meal, it wasn't that tasty. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible, it was just leaving things to be desired. Then when I got to the bottom I could taste the flavour and it was pretty good. Not sure what happened in this case. The butter also didn't really do anything at all. It's advertised as making the flavours of the dish richer but I couldn't really tell if the butter did anything at all. That's not great to have your star dish where half the special ingredients don't really do a whole lot. That said, I think Koyuki is a good restaurant to stop by and grab a bite at. It's not outstanding but it is still a good meal to be had. I think some work on their flavours could help bring more attention. For now, it's a reliable place to get a bowl of ramen if all you're other choices are occupied by massive lineups.

Their milky chicken ramen was really good (4/5). I love milky broths. I usually stay away from chicken in noodle soups. I feel it's usually very bland but not at Koyuki. Their chicken taste like smoked chicken. Love that they give you lots of green onion. They also claimed to be the first in Vancouver to have this type of ramen. Yay! Butter corn miso ramen (3.5/5) is their top ramen but I'd say the milky chicken wins it for this one. My major gripe with this one is that the pork belly was cold and I guess the chef was hoping that once it hits the soup it would warm up to the right temperature but it didn't quite do so or ..maybe I had to submerge it a bit.. I don't know. Anyhows, the broth became lukewarm 'cause of that so I didn't quite get the piping hot ramen I was hoping for. Told the server about the temperature and she brought it back to the kitchen and in no time it was fixed.

Hokkaido style miso ramen

Located in the area of two of my all-time favourite ramen shops in downtown, Danbo and Horin, I thought I'd go and check this one out since I figured it was time to try something new. And my, oh my, did Koyuki deliver! I was first introduced to Hokkaido style ramen - namely, the miso-based broth with the addition of corn and a knob of butter (which seems kinda weird at first) - by the late Anthony Bourdain on one of his TV show trips to Sapporo, Japan. Since that day, I've been meaning to try a ramen shop that specifically served ramen in this style. Luckily for me, one day I decided that I was adventurous enough to stay away from the usual places people frequent. If you're thinking about giving Koyuki a visit, go for it! The atmosphere is simple and quiet, the staff are helpful and friendly. The food was well presented and of good quality - the noodles were perfectly chewy to my liking, the soup was extremely rich and tasteful, and the tamago and pork belly was spot-on. I only ordered the one bowl of ramen and I left quite satisfied for the price of about average, i.e. $16 after tax, for what is expected of ramen shops in downtown. One thing to note is that this ramen shop has happy hour designated hours so it might be worthwhile while to stop by during those times to enjoy a drink and some hot soup along with some appetizers. Overall, a great little spot to check out on a cold winter day. I will definitely be coming back. Support this local business!

If you find yourself hungry in downtown Vancouver and you would like to sit down and enjoy a perfect bowl of noodles, look no further. KOYUKI Sapporo Ramen offers real good authentic Miso Ramen. I'm always happy to come back, I love their food, their customer service is amazing. They even have a cute little patio where you can enjoy your food in the sun on a street that's not busy :) It's perfect! We had some awesome ramen this time. And of course my favorite Takoyaki :) Definitely recommend!

Came here and tried their butter miso ramen and a few of their izakaya tapas. Their ramen is authentic and you can choose between thick or thin noodles. The butter miso ramen soup is very creamy and rich and there is actually a square of butter you melt into your soup. If this idea doesn't appeal to you, I recommend trying another ramen. Their cha-su is a little on the dry side but generous portions in everything we ordered. Their izakaya small bites were all fantastic. Some of the best takoyaki and chicken karaage I've had in awhile in Vancouver. Full review on blog: https://sincerelyloewe.com/koyuki-ramen-20x5-giveaway/

Stopped by this place after a long day of walking around! I was feeling a bit chilly so I got their Chashu Ramen! (Went there before pandemic) The restaurant itself is not very big and has both indoor and outdoor seating. The server was very kind and helped introduced each broth. The Chashu ramen was not bad but I have had better at other places. The noodles, and Chashu were quite mediocre, but the broth was not bad. The menu, at the time, also had happy hour appetizers, which I also tried, and they were pretty good (I got the Takoyaki and Diced Beef) I would say, their happy hour menu items are worth it and good for a bite to eat if you are passing by! more photos @eatswitcece

Was waiting in line for danbo ramen and wait was going to be 30 mins. Did not want to wait in the cold. Noted this ramen joint just round the corner. Not wait..... was surprised. Ramen is surprisingly good . Noodles were aldente and the tonkotsu broth had the typical porkiness and was not too salty. Charsu was good. No egg. But enjoyed totally. I am glad I tried it... definitely a place to try instead of waiting for the competing ramen joint.

Great restaurant for ramen tucked away on a side street near Robson in Vancouver . The broth for the ramen is really rich and flavorful - definitely authentic ramen. There's a lot of different options for ramen, as well as non-ramen dishes. The prices are also very affordable so you can definitely get a full dinner here without breaking the bank. I ordered the ramen combo with karaage. The karaage was decent, however the ramen was definitely made better and I would recommend it more. The waitstaff here were friendly, although not very attentive and you will have to flag them if you need their attention. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by for a bowl of ramen. If you're looking for something authentic, you won't leave disappointed or hungry.

Stopped by Maruhachi on a Saturday lunchtime after our long commute from Seattle. this restaurant…read moreis tucked in a corner not too far from the main Robson street. Paid parking was not too hard to find on the Main Street but during busy dining hours it might be difficult. We got seated right away at the bar since there were no tables open and the service was quick. Traditional Japanese style ambiance and even the bathroom had rounded Japanese bowl sink. As someone who doesn't have chicken broth (paitan style) ramen, I was really looking forward to the original ramen I ordered but I was a bit disappointed in the flavor profile of the dish. The ramen had both chasu and seaweed paired with thin round noodles. The broth was creamy and had a hint of chicken flavor but even adding several rounds of their soy sauce/salt seasoning they have on the side to adjust your broth to your liking-- I found that the richness of the soup was not what I had expected from the reviews that I read prior to coming here. Overall, a bit disappointed in the flavoring of the broth but maybe we came on an off day. I would be willing to give it a shot again in the future if I had ramen cravings and given that it was very affordable ($11-15 per bowl with tip), but I would probably opt to try another place first.

Review #3 for 2026 I…read morereally wanted to like this place. I watched many videos and read reviews before coming here, but it just did not hit the spot. After a cold day of exploring Stanley Park, we felt that ramen would really hit the spot, so we went here not wanting to deal with a wait at Danbo with a hungry and tired toddler. There was NO wait when we arrived here and we were seated immediately... which for a place that was really hyped up, should had made us think twice. There was only 1 other party at the restaurant. Now, the workers were super nice and the food came out quickly and we did eat everything because we were starving. We all ordered the cha-shu tamago ramen, 2 of us got spicy and 2 of us non-spicy. It came with extra chashu and the soft boiled egg for about $20 Canadian. The bowl was a good size and there was a promo for free extra noodles while we were there. Everyone except me in our group took advantage of it because I was too full from my bowl. Now, the broth here is different from other places because it is chicken based and not pork based. Everything I had seen about this place promised the broth is every bit just as good as the pork bone broth... however, the broth we received looked flavorful, but was bland. It was completely bland. There was no richness to it, not even a hint. I don't know, coming from southern California, the flavor just was not there period. We did all eat our food because we were starving, but it for sure did not hit the spot at all. Maybe we got an off day? Otherwise our broth had literally zero flavor to it. We all wished we had tried the other ramen place instead right after trying our ramen. Would I come back? I will have to say definitely no. We do not live in Vancouver and I do not want to waste any meals on a place that did not taste good the first time we went.

If you're curious about the rest of their ramen lineup, the ramen flight is a fun way to try them out without committing to just one. For $35, it included a Sapporo beer, five pieces of takoyaki, a bowl of Tonkotsu ramen, and mochi ice cream. It also happened to be Sake Friday, so we picked up a bottle at 50% off - hard to complain about that math. The ambience was generally fine, but the staff were doing a photoshoot for their new menu right beside our table. The gyoza and rice bowl were great! The gyoza, which we ordered on the recommendation of our waiter when we told them we were looking for a vegetarian appetizer, were made with soy-based imitation meat that had a very meaty texture - simple but very tasty. The rice bowl also had the soy meat, but seasoned differently, with a more intense flavour, along with atsuage tofu and various vegetables. It was delicious and also seemed healthy. We liked the aburi cheesecake, but it was more lemony than we expected. The waiters who brought it out said the lemon was to cut the sweetness, but we actually felt like the lemon competed with the caramel flavour of the bruleed crust. The textures were amazing though. We really enjoyed our meal here and I wish I'd tried them sooner!
