This was the sleeper hit of our culinary tour over a long weekend in Austin. We were looking for a quick, healthy/cleaner place for lunch that also offered options for my wife who is celiac. This place got all of that in spades. While it was close enough to our hotel for us to ride a Lime over to get takeout, there was some parking behind the place. At this time they're still not offering dine in but takeout and delivery options only. We walked in just after they opened on a Saturday and was able to place an order quickly and got our foods in less than 15 min. We ordered appetizers of dumplings and various bowls and were blown away by it all. The dumplings were done just right with a tasty dipping sauce, and all the ingredients in the bowl were fresh and tasted great. I think the only meh item was the miso soup, and that was given on the house anyway. All in all, a fantastic little place and I'd recommend to anyone. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would! My family and I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and asked the two laughing girls at the counter if we should order there. "Normally yes," one said. "But we're slow." Handing us three menus to go find a table, we sat and waited for almost 20 minutes, realizing they had no intention to serve us. What a great place! It's taken me months to go, but it definitely lived up to the hype the restaurant gets in the office. The walk/area is a bit sketch sometimes, but it's a great lunch spot to sit on the patio or get food to go. The menu is very diverse and I was glad I could order any entree without the rice option as I'm trying to watch my carbs. I went with the ahi tuna steak cooked rare, which I had hoped was going to have a nice pan sear to it. It was quite delicious and inexpensive! The tuna steak was 'cooked' perfect, just as I had hoped. Still cold/pink in the middle but with a nice seasoning and sear on the outside. After I did eat lunch here, I did have some sort of allergic reaction to whatever I ate. I'm not sure what seasonings it had but I didn't feel very well and quickly started to break out in hives allergies beware, but it was totally worth it. read more

The staff will warn you that it's not Thai or Indian curry, but I get it every time and it's only a medium heat with a lovely earthiness. You should also get a boba tea! Such an affordable chipotle Asian spot! I had the Obake (a) bowl. I liked the selection of veggies that went into the bowl. The quality of the chicken was mediocre. The flavor of the bowl was lacking a little bit of something or maybe I wasn't a fan of what they used to sauté the ingredients in my bowl. It was overpowering. It kind of tasted like a bad teriyaki sauce? If I could go back, I wish I could request the sauce. I like how you're able to make substitutions (most for free of charge). Also the lady taking my order was super kind and let me add on roasted garlic on the house. Having complimentary miso soup is also a plus. Yes please! This Asian food is the bomb. I realllllllyyyyyy loved the hummus spring roll. I wish I had a few right now. I also tried the regular summer roll, miso soup and japchae. All were great, not sure you can make a bad choice here. Ultimately, it's hard to find healthy, fast, inexpensive, and delicious food. Koriente hits all of that perfectly. Everything is vegetarian/vegan/gluten free customizable and you get free vegan miso soup too! One thing to note: it's counter service. You have to just hope there is a seat. Thoroughly enjoyed Koriente! We were visiting Austin and looking for something on the lighter side located downtown. We went on a Friday around 1:30 and there was a short line outside to order at the counter. Probably waited 10-15 minutes, and the food came out very fast after ordering. The staff at the counter were very helpful about ordering, making sure we understood menu items, and recommending combinations. Even let us sample the curry because it has a non-traditional flavor profile. Very aware of segmented diet requirements: typically its tricky to eat gluten free at Asian restaurants that use soy sauce, but they were very careful to use and provide GF sauces. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options and NO hidden fish sauce. Very accommodating for substitutions, like brown rice, noodles, or salad greens instead of white rice. Crazy lunch special: the entrees are well-priced ($6.50 for bibimbop plus extra $ for proteins) and came with complimentary bottomless miso soup, salad, and Japanese pickles, plus a soy-based chai bubble tea on the house. The bibimbop is mostly raw, but the veggies are shaved thin so it worked very well, and served with a gochujang-like sauce. I had it with tofu and avocado - very yummy, light, and photogenic. I have no clue why, but I've always loved Koriente's ever since the first time I tried it while I was in college at UT. I always feel like I'm getting a relatively healthy & wholesome meal when I eat at Koriente's; probably because of their fresh ingredients. I got the japchae. It was okay. Kind of bland. I made it better with more soy sauce. My bf got the spicy chicken. He said it was good. Both had too much food. We couldn't finish it. We also had the miso soup and it was good but the bacteria in it wasn't moving like it usually does. We think it was dead.
