Wonderful Thai restaurant at Hillsdale NJ. The design is modern yet elegant. It gives an upscale vibe but still very easy and casual. If you are coming as a big group, definitely make a reservation. The staff is helpful and friendly. Attentive to customers. The food is amazing. The presentation and flavor are both there. I would love the portion to be a little bigger. Chicken bomb is a must try (spicy level 1). The unique sauce over the crunchy chicken makes my top 3 favorites. Love the sweet, sour, Thai essence taste. We also have chili shrimp (reduced spicy level to 1) and chicken pad see ew. Shrimps are jumbo size, cooked beautifully. Again the sauce elevates the dish to another level. If you are in the area, give this place a try. I highly recommend it.

Returned for another very good meal. They brought out 2 dishes and we waited a good 10 min for the other 2 so needed to request a warm up. We didn't take this against their rating since they did so well every other time. Food was superb as always.

If I could, I would rename Bergen County to Mini Thailand. The finest Thai Cuisine this side of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Options in nearly every town, how did we get so lucky? Call me Bucky (Irving)... topical as always. Top tier options do indeed dwell this land, and you simply can't go wrong. However... I can say this with a firm lip, no quiver. Don't kill me when I deliver... this news. Koon Thai is the best of the best oh my oh my. He said it. I did. Call me naughty but this place is niceeeeeee. Very pretty interior. Pretty? Yea... so what? A man with dexterity in compliments. Small in stature but utilizes the space exceptionally well. Nice view of the lovely hillsdale streets depending on where you remain seated. It's tuff to get into this joint. Very popular and for good reason. I'm popular. I have reason. At least I once had reason... my life is new. It's different, so I still have purpose? Snap out of it LB. Back to business. I can occasionally spoil meals with my delightfully desirable descriptions of dining delicacies such as presented to my pallet by Koon Thai. This time I shall be brief and wise as to let your own eyes and lips and mouth understand the prize. These folk do a crispy chicken option over the Pad Thai. Genius. Genius creation and alterations all over this menu. You don't gotta reinvent the wheel, but you can make a wheel spin faster and finer and funkier and that's what they do. The Fried Rice. I don't know what to do with my jazz hands right now thinking about this fried rice. Get that little oil (as seen in picture), toss it all over this pupparoni. This is maybe the best fried rice I've ever had. Stretched over many a cuisine. It be meannnnnnnnn. Woooof woooooof. I could keep going, just ask ya motha!!! Ayooooo. But instead I leave this up to you to finish my review. 5/5, feeling alive. Enjoy a merry holiday night this winter. Warm yourself up with some Thai from this eatery and maybe you'll be lucky to stumble into my topsy turvy toosh (bulking szn.)

We ordered take out; the food might be better if dining in. We ordered pad Thai, pad se ew, hunger, koon fried rice, spring rolls and Brussel sprouts (about $100!). The Brussel sprouts were the best! Even though the Koon fried rice comes with lumps of crab meat, it does not seem worth $27. Very expensive fried rice! Hunger is a different type of dish. I liked the variety of what it came with - shrimp, pork sausage, tofu , lettuce, cashews, noodles. You get 3 spring rolls in an order. I thought they might be something different since they were made with taro but were standard.

One of the sister Thai restaurants in the area with good food that hits the spot Tasty Thai food, with some traditional favorites like pad Thai and fried rice but also other dishes. I enjoyed the Hunger, which was broad noodles with large shrimp, pork sausage (not super fatty), cashews, lettuce and more. The fried rice with crab was a good pairing because it's not spicy without the optional sauce. Pad Thai was also pretty good with a few different veggies. Entrees will run you about $20-27. Street parking that's free on Sundays but otherwise is either an hour or two on weekdays... there's a Gong cha, Japanese restaurant and deli not too far.

I have been here a few times and each time I have thoroughly enjoyed my meal. My husband and I csme with another couple for dinner. We ordered the Suki Yaki entree as an appetizer and it was so yummy, we were fighting over the last bite. I ordered the Cod Tempura and it was cooked to perfection. So flaky and delicious with a very tasty sauce on the side. Everyone was super happy with their meals. Our server was helpful when explaining the different types of noodles to us and in opening our many bottles of wine. There was a good crowd of people and a bunch of takeout orders while we were there, which is good to know. The restaurant smelled delicious and for good reason, the food is very good here. We love a good BYO, definitely would recommend and will be back!

Came here with my boyfriend for a date night. This is his favorite restaurant! It is so cute in there and the food was absolutely divine! My steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce it comes with was incredible. I need to know how they make it! The brussels sprouts especially, I cannot wait to order them again! The service was fast and friendly. Great experience at Koon. I will be going back and maybe trying something new!

The service is amazingly attentive. They always check up on you if everything is okay and if your drinks are filled. The only thing I wish is if the seating was spaced out a little more. You are jammed so close together at the back (three 2 person tables right next to each other) that you can eavesdrop on every and all conversations. It was quite awkward. As for the food I wouldn't say this is true Thai food; maybe a hint of fusion in here. They definitely catered to the American pallet. But they executed the flavors well. I enjoyed my bowl of Hunger which had 3-4 large shrimps and Chinese sausages. For desserts we went with the Ding Ding which had some sticky rice and coconut icecream. I wish there was more sticky rice and a drizzle of condensed milk would make this even better but it was good. Overall, I will definitely stop by again!

Excellent Thai eatery nestled in the downtown area of Hillsdale. The restaurant has modern decor and an upscale vibe. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. BYOB and be sure to make reservation as there aren't that many tables in the restaurant. We were there on a Friday night and we saw multiple walk-in parties get turned away at the door because the restaurant was fully booked for the night. What we ordered: Fish Taco: A+ Chicken Bomb: A+ Holy Beef: B+ Hunger: A

The reviews speak for themselves! This place (while relatively new) undeniably deserves 5 stars! I was able to try a whole bunch of different dishes and every single one was impressive. Appetizers: Fried Calamari ($14) - nice and soft; easy to chew with some slight crispiness Crispy Vermicelli ($17) - a very unique dish with perfectly crispy noodles topped with jumbo crab meat, apple slices, and scallions; a great blend of savory and sweet flavors Main courses: Hunger ($23) - a tasty take on a pad kee mao style dish with wide noodles and some tasty additions such as shrimp, pork sausage, and egg (and more) Massaman ($24) - super tender braised beef in a tasty sauce with peanuts, mashed potato, and brussel sprouts on the side Fish Fry ($27) - probably the most unique of all the dishes I tried, this interesting and beautiful dish featured nicely cooked red snapper tempura that was slightly crispy on the outside and soft and boneless on the inside Classic Pad Thai ($18) - a delicious classic Koon Fried Rice ($27) - another high quality classic Dessert: Ding Ding ($11) - a great dessert that is part classic but also part unique, featuring delicious coconut ice cream with some pineapple jam to add a sweet touch on top, along with palm seeds and peanuts on crispy coconut waffles Environment / Service: The restaurant has a beautiful interior with elegant Thai decor and a relaxed yet upscale vibe. There is plenty of seating available. The floor to ceiling windows allow for lots of natural sunlight. The staff are super friendly and the service speed is fast. Overall: Koon Thai Eatery really impressed me in all aspects and is definitely one of the best Thai restaurants I have been to in NJ. I highly encourage all Thai food fans in the area to stop by!

Excellent. Outpaces most Thai restaurants (incl. those in NYC in my opinion!) Came for an early dinner so had no trouble getting seated (was probably the first customer of the evening), and found waitresses very friendly! We ordered the calamari / Koon fried rice / Holy Beef / Ding Ding. I think the Koon fried rice is a must have!! What makes this stand out from most fried rices is the lime sauce on the side. We were a little nervous about the lime sauce spiciness level. However, while it gave a little heat, I think most with a hesitation for spiciness will find it really enjoyable and a great compliment to the fried rice! I also loved the amount of crab added to this, they did not skimp! The Holy Beef was like bulgogi but with a twist. I thought it was really unique flavor and went nicely with the fried rice. Although we asked for less heat again, if anyone were to ask for a spicier beef can still find this enjoyable! The Ding Ding satisfied a craving of ice cream I've had all week, haha. It wasn't too sweet at all and for someone who isn't too crazy about coconut, I loved how this came out. Side note though - there is a bit of sticky rice in it that felt heavy and unnecessary. But otherwise, I liked the peanut additions and the presentation of this dessert a lot! I'll be back-- (as Schwarzenegger would say)

We chose the option to place our order in the store via touchscreen, which made the whole process really easy. I also like that they have the special cookies laid out. Many of us are extremely visual eating, and that helps the whole process. I'm not a huge fan of too much frosting but enjoy the cookie component. Everyone else I know loves the frosting part but I just feel it takes over and makes it too sweet. So far have tried the double chocolate and churro. Crumbl cookie is a take and go place so just keep that in mind.

I didn't know what to expect of the place before I entered but there were a bunch of teenagers ahead of me gathered at a touchscreen to order. You don't actually have to speak with anyone inside, and you can peruse the menu items on the touch screen or they have the weekly items on display. I went big and ordered the 4-large cookie box. I got the Strawberry Shortcake, Confetti cookie, Mom's Recipe cookie and a Macadamia Nut cookie. First off, each cookie/cake was HUGE. We split each into quarters and tried them all, my fave was the Confetti, my husband's was the macadamia nut cookie. All were very good. I like that they have a rotating weekly menu with different offerings each week. I would definitely go back and try another time!
