    Tortilla Chips

Mexico Mi Amor 132 Veterans Plaza Dumont, NJ 07628 Tortilla Chips Mexican Burger Spicy Pork Burrito The interior has a pleasant ambiance. Throughout the year, the decor changes to coincide with any specific holiday. Tortilla Chips: This complimentary appetizer is freshly made in house and served with chunky salsa. In addition to being consumed solo, the chips also make an excellent side to any entrée. Mexican Burger: The burger was topped with Oaxaca cheese, avocado, sautéed onions, and chipotle mayo. Although there was a wide variety of toppings, the beef patty wasn't large enough and there were more toppings than meat. This burger was not my preferred item. Spicy Pork Burrito: The burrito was packed with rice, beans, and protein of your choice. It was wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. As a bonus, it came with three separate dipping sauces. My only regret is that I ordered the burrito for take out; had I dined in, I could have supplemented tortilla chips with the burrito. I was grateful that all complimentary iced water was served in a refillable bottle so I could conveniently pour myself another glass. Although I wasn't too fond of the Mexican burger, the burrito and tortilla chips were phenomenal. I am looking forward to exploring other menu items, especially during the lunch hour when discounted meal options are offered. #mexicomiamor #dumontnj #mexicanburger #tortillachips #spicyporkburrito

Mexico Mi Amor is great! Came here for Trivia night with a group of friends and it did not disappoint. They start the table off with chips and salsa but we did end up ordering chips with guacamole which was excellent! I ordered the enchiladas and also got to try the carnitas tacos which were delish. For dessert, we shared the flan, churro and chocolate mousse cake. It is BYOB so we brought a bottle of tequila which staff took and made us margaritas with ;) Mexico Mi Amor is a fairly new restaurant so I am little surprised that it wasn't busier. All of the tables were there for trivia. They host a bunch of events from trivia to Spanish Storytime to book club meetings and dance classes. Hoping they pick up some business in the new year -- this is your sign to go!

We came to this newly opened restaurant (few months ago) for lunch. Must say, I was super impressed with their colorful vibrant interior. Found out they host many special events like trivia and salsa nights. The menu had all the popular Mexican dishes like tacos, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas and many others. We got a complimentary basket of chips with salsa. I ordered the chicken and shrimp fajitas with side of guacamole. I liked the dish so much. It came with three purple color tacos, never had seen that before. The rice and beans were good. Swizzling chicken and shrimps had dynamite flavors. I finished all of it. Also got to try the chicken burrito that was delicious. But the guacamole was disappointing. The tomatoes were so chunky. It needed more citrus and lemon too. I took a flan home, it was a huge piece, really dense and sweet, so good! The service was good, our server was very friendly. Other than guacamole, rest of the items came out quickly. We had a good lunch. We look forward to joining one of their weekly events and go back to try some other dishes as well.

What an adorable, cool spot! Easily one of the best eateries I've seen near our little ol' town. It's full of charm, the food is great, prices are reasonable, and parking is easy. I heard they've only been open about six months, and I really hope they do well--this place truly deserves it. The decor is absolutely adorable, the chips and salsa are delicious, and there's plenty of seating. It's perfect for families with kids, date nights, or a get-together with friends. They don't serve alcohol, but you can bring your own and they'll sell you margarita and sangria mixers, which is a nice touch. Definitely a must-try if you're in the area. We ordered the fajitas and they were spot on! If you want it shorter or more casual, I can tweak it too.

Local Mexican restaurant by Dumont post office. The decorations are vibrant and colorful. Wonderful staff. Very helpful. We had chicken/shrimp fajitas and shrimp burrito and flan to go. The onion flavor is a little over powering in my burrito but overall it's good. Love the pan seared the tortillas. Great portion. Flan is soft and sweet. I would recommend it for dessert. They offer many events such as Latin dance nights, trivia, kids music class etc. Good to see the restaurant promoting themselves with the community.

The mole dish that I did not enjoy. I didn't love the flavor.

Maybe I ordered the wrong dish. Maybe we came at the wrong time. I'm not sure but I did not have a good experience at this restaurant unfortunately. As soon as I walked in I saw a party of about 15 to 20 people, that should have been my sign to leave. But it was my first time here so I figured let's give it a shot. The waiter took about 10 minutes to come take our order. I actually had to walk up to the service table and ask for a waiter. I get it between that 15 to 20 people party. Maybe there's only two waiters on staff so they were very busy with them. The place is very kid-friendly because they clearly let all the kids run around going crazy . I was very hangry at the moment and couldn't help but watch three to four kids run around this restaurant hiding under tables that were not being occupied and crying non-stop when they weren't running around. The place is BYOB which is nice so you can bring whatever you want to drink. My wife had a bottle of wine and she enjoyed that. I was not drinking however that evening so maybe that's why I was a little more annoyed. After ordering our food it took about 45 minutes for it to come out. Again I get it. They had a huge party there and there was probably one cook in the kitchen. So I feel like I just came at the wrong time. But still I was pretty pissed that I took this long for our food to come out. Then on top of that I didn't love my dish, I think I ordered the wrong thing. I got the mole plater with chicken inside. I didn't love it, the flavor felt off to me for the mole sauce. It was edible but like I said I didn't enjoy it, so that was kind of twisting the knife in the wound. For appetizer I did order a shrimp sope, and that was delicious. It was deep fried bread with black beans, shrimp, onions, tomatoes and lettuce on top. It was very tasty. All in all, I did not have a good experience at this restaurant, but I'm not blaming the restaurant. It could be I ordered the wrong dish and I happened to come at the wrong time. I'm not sure if I would give it another try because I could think of two excellent Mexican restaurants in this area.

I only got the birria tacos and side of guacamole - both were great. The menu looks very enticing and recipes are truly authentic. This is not the best option for me as someone with many dietary restrictions, but if you like authentic Mexican food, this may be your place! The space is large and festive. The location seems central enough--I'm not familiar with the area to comment at length on convenience, but parking was available right outside. The staff were super friendly, gotta give it up. My server was really sweet and I hope she wasn't offensive that I didn't order too much. This is a great option for neighborhood, authentic food. BYO Place is currently decorated for dia de los mueretos... I don't think they have skeletons hanging around all year long. FYI

In the beginning, their birria tacos were delicious. It had great flavor with the right balance of meat and cheese. This time, though, they were disappointing. The meat portion was smaller, there was barely any cheese, the flavor was bland, and the tortillas kept falling apart. It might've just been an off night, so we may give it another try. But if the quality stays the same, we won't be returning...

After visiting multiple times (and at varying times of the day), I can confidently say Mexico Mi Amor is now my go-to for authentic Mexican cuisine. Chef Juan and his wife, Marta, have created something special that goes beyond exceptional food. Food & Value-- Mexico Mi Amor consistently delivers on both authenticity and quality. The pricing reflects the quality--you're paying for fresh ingredients and genuine craftsmanship. The birria tacos alone are worth the visit. Experience & Care-- What sets Mexico Mi Amor apart for me though is how genuinely welcoming they are to families and the community. As a parent of a two-year-old, the dedicated kid's play area is a game-changer--my little one can play while I actually enjoy my meal. They've also thoughtfully included changing tables, a detail that many restaurants overlook but parents desperately appreciate. The team at Mexico Mi Amor is working hard to create something meaningful in Dumont, and it shows in every interaction, every dish, and every celebration. Whether you're looking for a family dinner, a community gathering spot, or simply the best birria tacos in the area, Mexico Mi Amor delivers.

So pretty inside! Enjoyed my chicken soft tacos and the homemade tres leches cake was absolutely fantastic! Not too sweet and just melted in your mouth. Wish there were some veggie sides offered but otherwise enjoyed it all.

Beautifully decorated place with great service. A young man named Alexander made our guacamole. He did a great job but a touch too much salt. The food however was perfect. Very freshly made and delicious. I had my favorite enchiladas verdes con pollo. Rice and beans were perfectly seasoned and really tasty. The enchiladas were probably the best I've had. They were served with some incredibly delicious green sauce and avocado slices which added to the richness of the dish. I was mildly surprised and impressed. We went there because my wife saw a video on social media so we went to support a local business. What we found was a very good place to eat. We will be back. It's byob which also saves you a little money. They will serve you a pitcher of margarita mix and you can supply your own tequila. Or they can put your beer on ice. Whichever works for you. A really nice experience, quite a nice crowd there too.

So glad I decided to try out Mexico Mi Amor -their Christmas decorations are amazing, the outside has a blow out Santa Claus very cute and inviting. As soon as you walk in you see this beautiful mural of a woman signifying día de los muertos, a Xmas tree, the restaurant is full of inviting colors. There is two big screen tvs and a smaller one with Xmas screen savers. Music was nice playing all your favorite Xmas songs. Their corn chips and salsa delicious just wish they give you a bigger serving it was very good Now the food I ordered mar y Tiera dish came with rice and beans and flour tortillas of course all was yummy. Marcos our server made us fresh guacamole must say just a bit salty but still very good. He was very attentive with our needs -so thank you Marcos. For dessert shared a flan very good and moist. My favorite was the hot chocolate flight -yep chocolate flight-I had the strawberry, matcha , my hubby chose abuelita and classic. My favorite was strawberry brought me back to when I was a little girl. Will definitely be coming back -oh they have an event posting too per day -like movie night for families-salsa dance class ect...

The gianduja crunch hazelnut was what brought me back. I visited on a Sunday afternoon in summer with the family, and it was packed. There was real no space to enjoy the ice cream either. In line, I noticed no one offered samples or took my order proactively until I reached the cash register, by then it was too late to sample. There were two guys manning the ice cream station, a lady manning the register, and a few in the back kitchen. I ordered a pint of the gianduja crunch, a single vanilla, and a single flan. The vanilla was average, it didn't wow me (I was hoping for something less sweet, more like haagen dazs vanilla bean). I think they used too much vanilla flavoring. The gianduja was very good and appropriate with a crunch, and the flan was solid too, glad we went with those. They seemed a bit disorganized when paying/receiving the order (chalk it up to being busy young adults). I had to ask multiple times if they had given my pint since they called my name out to give me the single serving but they were still working on mine but were also bringing out different order pints to other customers so it was a bit lack of communication and clarity that needed polishing. They also didn't have any cooler bags to sell or give out, which would be helpful for a 30-minute drive home in summer. Pricing was fair, not too expensive. I saw the awards the owner has displayed and was happy for them. Overall, the ice cream itself is a bit above average with some really interesting flavors. Glad to see small businesses like this open up. I do hope they can refine the customer service experience a bit more. Their ice cream has real potential to impress the right investors and grow if they can hire the right management team.

Very clean, bright, and warm look. It was a busy Sunday morning, but the employees worked quickly and efficiently. Their cake menu has a huge variety of options - fruity flavors, chocolate, Asian-inspired flavors, etc. I ordered the Raspberry Lemon cake (~$45). Yes, their cake prices are on the steeper end... but they are beautifully decorated, elegant, made with high quality ingredients, and freshly baked on-site every day. The cake was packaged in a specially designed box. I loved the functionality of it; it was sturdy with handles for you to hold at the top. It even came with a complimentary cake cutter, matches, and Mother's Day cake topper! My mom and family enjoyed the cake. It was light, fruity, and zesty! Not overly sweet at all. The buttercream frosting was made out of raspberry cream cheese. The cake was moist and fluffy, with a taste similar to lemon pound cake. It had layers of raspberry and lemon filling. It was topped with yellow and pink piping for a vibrant pop of color. I would definitely come back here to get cakes for a special occasion. I would also love to try their decadent pastries and drinks - they have so many options!

When i took it back to the counter the lady just smiled at me and offered to replace saying she didnt "think" it was from the machine and just flying around. I told her it was unacceptable and would have been more upsetting had my daughter drank it. Then was given a light apology but thats all , which is so strange to me . Then i received the chai ( which at the counter i was informed could be made less sweet). It was overpoweringly sweet, when i took this back they said it was a premixed powder and already has the sweet mixed in ( very strange why i was told it could be adjusted then :/). The Hawaiian style shaved ice and home-made ice cream are top notch. The toppings are yum too. The ramen noodles are springy, settled in a savory light broth. For a non-prestige grade ramen, I have no complaints. I also want to acknowledge the lovely hospitality. My child was in a tantrum-y mood and went to sulk by himself in a corner. HAPPY NATIONAL BOBA DAY (4/30)! It only feels right to update my review of my go-to spot in the…read morearea. NJ doesn't have many great boba places, which is why I'm EXTREMELY grateful to have Tsaocaa nearby. I'm a regular, and the drinks are consistently amazing. I'm pretty picky--I only like drinks with a strong tea flavor that really pulls through. My biggest pet peeve is when they're too milky, overly sweet, or taste artificial. Tsaocaa absolutely nails it! The tea to milk ratio is ON POINT! One sip in, and I could tell they use high quality, premium tea leaves and fresh fruit ingredients. This is one of the few places that truly gets both milk AND fruit teas right! Over the past two years, I've worked my way through a good portion of the menu. You really can't go wrong with choosing any drink! There are so many options--milk teas, fruit teas, slushes, fruit mojitos (non-alcoholic), yogurt slushes, you name it. It's the perfect mix of classic staples and more creative flavors. My top two favorites are: *Passion Fruit & Lime Tea - Get this if you want something refreshing, tangy, and tropical. I get it with no sugar since the fruit already brings a natural sweetness. And they actually use real passion fruit seeds! *Brown Sugar Black Milk Tea - The black tea is strong and slightly bitter, but the creamy milk balances it out. They don't go overboard with the brown sugar--just enough to give you little sips of sweetness. *King of Milk Oolong Tea - I don't usually go for oolong tea, but this one's starting to win me over. I absolutely LOVE the deep, roasted flavor. I order mine with less ice and either the lowest sugar level or no sugar at all. The baristas hit the mark on the sweetness levels and make it exactly how I want. When you order 30% sugar, you really get 30%. For the true tea lovers, I recommend 30% or none at all if you really want that bold tea taste. The tapioca pearls are addicting--soft, chewy, and not crazy sweet. Their pearls have a natural amber brown color since they're made from sweet potato, without any added syrups or dyes. Most boba elsewhere is made from cassava root and then dyed artificially. Yes, it's on the pricier side--but I am SO willing to pay for the higher quality! They have a rewards program, so if you collect enough points, you can score free drinks! There's a lovely barista who's almost always there--she makes my drinks just right and quickly every time. I do wish there were more seating though. It's a small store with just a table and a few stools at a counter. They do have wifi if you're thinking of getting some work done. This location also has a full menu of popular Vietnamese dishes like pho, lemongrass grilled pork, vermicelli bowls, and banh mi. I've tried the banh mi, and honestly, I'd skip it. Stick to the bubble tea here! Tsaocaa is a must try for all boba lovers! Get your sip on! They even have a 1000mL bucket size! *eyes emoji* I have to limit myself to one drink a month... or I'll end up with a 9-month old boba belly.

Oh man, I so wanted these drinks to be a hit…read more Here is what we ordered in 500ml: - King of Oolong Milk Tea with boba - Sakura Oolong Milk Tea As soon as we saw the drinks we were like oooh no, why is it white? My son insist I taste both of them first. I put on a poker face because I wanted to see his honest reaction too. After he took a couple of sips he said, I don't want to finish it. In the trash it goes. I consider myself a hardcore tea lover. There was nothing Oolong about it. Not sure how the lady made it, if it's from powder or actual tea leaves but we absolutely could not detect any tea flavor, mostly water and sugar and the lingering aftertaste was NOT PLEASANT AT ALL. It was a long drive for us to get here. Do I regret it? No, because I am always willing to venture far for a boba tea experience. Can't win them all. I don't know if the high rating is for the drinks or the Vietnamese food they serve here. Tsaocaa is a chain and I will not be giving this one another chance. The first thing my son and I did when we got home was brush our teeth. Positives... - Friendly service. - The drinks are not as pricey as other boba shops. - I got to see how beautiful Englewood, New Jersey is. One star rating for the soft and chewy boba.

Lemongrass Grilled Pork Banh Mi - Just okay. Not bad, but not great. I'd skip it and stick to the boba here.
