Honestly, given the prices on the menu and how cheap things were (considering inflation and everything else), I wasn't expecting much. Boy, was I wrong!! The chicken was hot, the rice was fluffy, And the beans were soft, just like they should be. The salsa verde was a little bland and tasted like water blended with just hot peppers if you ask me. It's a heavy dish and I'm used to having some kind of pickled side vegetables as a Korean (like cultido?) but I realize this isn't always the standard for some cuisines. Came here with my boyfriend a little after 2pm on a Monday. As we walked in, we were greeted by an elderly woman. She started taking off the lids from the pans and showed us what we thought were the daily specials. I mean, it's not like we ordered food made to order, besides one item. Contemplating on what we were gonna get, we decided on getting the steak with onions, an arepa, and the pork ribs, and 2 colombian sodas. Choose what kind of rice (white or yellow) which comes with beans. My bf wasn't too thrilled with his steak dish, but said my pork ribs were really good, which they were. He said the arepa was good as well. Now, onto the bill. I didn't know how much it came out to until we left the place and my bf has a pissed off face. He said the bill came out to $32 and change. My mom lives in Leonia and it's kind of difficult to find a good Latin food around here. This small cafe serves really authentic food that taste homemade. When I'm sick I always ask my mom to pick me up some of their beef soup. The chicken soup is good too, it will taste like your grandmother made it. It is really yummy made with root veggies, cilantro and don't forget to squeeze lime and add their hot sauce. I've also had other dishes from there. The food is pretty standard, nothing spectacular but definitely Latino comfort food! Really good white rice and sweet plantains. read more

Think of this more as a home cooking restaurant rather than as a "Columbian Food" restaurant and you will understand its charms and its offerings. I don't even look at the menu, I call, ask what's for dinner tonight and order 2 of the 4 daily specials. The food is great and wholesome, the price is incredible, the portions are generous and the staff are sweet people. I buy two entrees and a side order of Tostones or Maduros to feed 4 people and it costs $20 and feels like 7 pounds of food in the bag when I walk out the door. Can't beat it. read more

This was my first time going to this place I ordered 2 cuban sandwiches and expected to pay the price on the menu.. However I was charged $1.50 more than the menu price for each sandwich when i got my credit card back. When I brought to the person's attention I was told the price went up. This is not way to do business.........itis not the $1.50 but the attitude of being dismissed and saying the price went up ...therefore CHECK THE PRICE BEFORE ORDERING BECAUSE the menu price is not the real price !!! this place has excellent food for the price!! if you like seafood please try the mojarra with coconut rice it is fantastic!!! they have typical homecooked colombian food. you really get what you pay for they are generous for the price that you pay. My boyfriend and I paid about 40.00 and we both had the mojarra!! The owners and workers are super sweet and nice. It's a very small place and thats the only downside that not a lot of space and the tables are pretty tight but then again this is a cafe. I am also pretty happy that here you never have to wait long to be seated or long for your food or have to deal with too many people or anything like that. I sometimes forget this place is in the town, its very quaint and offers very good Coast Colombian food as well as other staple Latin America dishes.
