Tea + confections and more. Crossing off another place on my list. Cheongsu in Fort Lee serves souffles, madeleines, matchas and several other items. I was incredibly intrigued by the Korean special set menu and had to get it! It comes with tea, madeleine, traditional Korean confectionery, jelly, dried seasonal fruit and candied chestnuts. I wish I have the opportunity to have this more often. I also tried their yuzu beverage. The pulp separates pretty quickly and sank in the bottom. With a filled glass, it wasn't easy to blend with the spritz. Since it was my first time, I asked a few questions and was told that they'd send a text message when it was ready. I recall reading that the soufflé takes 30 minutes to complete as well. Pro, it's great that the whole order was ready before 30 minutes; Con, the soufflé was under cooked. Also, since the food was ready sooner than anticipated, I wasn't able to retrieve the order on time and was "scolded" that they're not a table service type of establishment. 1, I'm fully aware I had to get my order myself. Unfortunately the call only reflected the main floor where the serving counter was. Not upstairs, not outside. 2. I should've been given grace since again, it was served earlier than anticipated. I also didn't get a text message that it was ready. There are lots of opportunities for improvement here, like an intercom of some sort outside and upstairs. I didn't see the upstairs so idk if it really needs it there. Since they're not a table service type of establishment, an automatic door would be great because everything had to be returned inside. Envision glasses on trays with other tablewares, full hands and the door.... Not to mention if someone was coming out from the inside. It's a disaster waiting to happen. Although I enjoyed everything because it was delicious, I didn't enjoy it to the fullest because of the one moment left a bad taste in my mouth.

Cute dessert spot in Fort Lee, New Jersey! The place has a parking lot with a few spots but the ramp is located in an awkward spot so it can be difficult to turn in especially when there's people leaving and coming in too. My family and I came on a Sunday evening and it was kind of packed, especially since the outdoor garden and upstairs was closed. As a result, the employees usually limit the dine-in time and encourage people to refrain from taking larger tables when your party is smaller. The place has a warm, wood theme that makes it feel very cozy inside. Upon walking in, you can see a display models of all the desserts they have or you can use one of two kiosks to look at pictures and order! My sister wanted to get one of their signature desserts: souffle castellan or fromage. I wanted to try their madeleines, financier, and shaved ice. One thing we could agree on is no yakgwa. We're not a fan of the chewy, sweet flour dessert. We shared a Matcha Fromage, Black Sesame Madeline, and Salted Vanilla Financier. The Matcha Fromage was a bit overrated. It has a hard, dry texture but the matcha flavor made it bearable. Would not order again. The black sesame Madeline and Salted vanilla financier on the other hand were out of this world. Perfect taste and texture. Soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. My sister did not want the shaved ice and I could not finish it myself but honestly wished we got it instead of the fromage. Everyone in the room had a shaved ice on their table. Whether it was matcha or strawberry - they all looked sooo good! As for drinks, we ordered an iced creme brulee matcha latte and a vanilla latte. They messed up our order and gave us a plain iced creme brulee latte which has coffee in it! The barista was nice when we told her about what happened. She informed us she will make the correct drink, but that if we wanted we could keep the drink made in error. Luckily, my sister is a coffee drinker so she drank it and I drank the matcha one. They were good but the creme brulee too definitely makes it more sweet. The vanilla latte has a cute bear art on top but flavor wise, it's just like any regular vanilla latte. Would love to come back to try other drinks as well as the shaved ice! Hopefully, when the weather is nicer, the outdoor garden is open too! FYI - there is one unisex bathroom for customers right on the left when you enter.

This place is so cute!! I was transported to another country. It's so zen upon entry. Seems like they have a parking lot adjacent which is nice. You order on one of the two kiosks. Then they call your number. The soufflés take 20-30min. They have tap water with ice if you ask. They have some outdoor tables too. And a bathroom. The cream brûlée matcha was so unique. I loved the crunchy top and watching them heat it up. The cream in it is rich and tastes very good with a dipped salted vanilla financier. We got an assortment of cookies. The standout was the Dubai matcha one. It had a kataifi in the center which made it crunch and on the outside a thin layer of chewy mochi, which was kind of floral tasting. For some reason it tasted like fruity pebbles even though that's not the flavor profile I was expecting. The soufflé was steaming hot, had red bean on the bottom and a ton of sesame on the top and inside as well. It wasn't strong in flavor and was light and fluffy. The green tea Madeleine was too dry and bitter for me. Some of the other cookies we had were on the dry side as well. Overall really unique place with lots of unique flavors. The drink was standout!

I stumbled upon Cheongsu in Fort Lee after seeing it on Instagram, and even the photos couldn't fully prepare me for how aesthetic and thoughtfully designed the space is. From the moment you approach the café, the exterior's minimalist charm and interior's calming modern touches make it feel like an inviting little retreat tucked into a bustling neighborhood. The café--open daily from around 9AM to9PM--is housed in what looks like a converted home with skylights and large front windows that let in beautiful natural light, giving the vibe of sitting in a cozy living room more than a typical dessert spot. Parking in Fort Lee can be intimidating because the area is so busy, but I was pleasantly surprised. There's a small parking lot right beside the café, which is a huge help on crowded weekends, and you can also park at the Hudson Lights Parking Garage (245 Park Ave)--a 24‑hour garage about a 5‑minute walk away--which makes visiting much more convenient than I expected. Inside, Cheongsu buzzes with energy but still feels serene, blending Korean‑inspired zen design with a modern dessert café aesthetic--a concept inspired by the founders' love of Korean culture and the idea of "clear water," symbolizing purity and flow. Seating is both indoor and outdoor, but this place fills up, and seating is first‑come, first‑served. Depending on when you go, the wait can vary. There's a gentleman at the entrance who will reserve your spot when you arrive, and there's generally a two‑hour dining limit to keep things moving. Ordering is casual--you grab a table, place your order at the kiosk, and then wait for your number to be called. The desserts here are what truly make the visit feel special. The fromages--elegant mousse cakes that come in flavors like matcha, strawberry, and soybean--are works of edible art with light, delicate textures. I tried the matcha one this time, and it was so interesting--soft matcha mousse with little chestnut pieces hidden inside, adding a subtle earthiness and texture. The balance of sweetness is just right (though taste always varies personally), letting the quality of the ingredients shine without being cloying. The bingsoo here is a highlight--the shaved ice comes with milk and toppings like red bean and mochi, and it reminded me of the classic Asian shaved ice desserts I've had overseas--refreshing, silky, and not just a block of ice demanding syrup. The drinks are also noteworthy: rich matcha lattes, refreshing teas, and unique beverages like eispanners round out the menu beautifully. What really sets Cheongsu apart is the experience: the ambiance feels creative and calming, almost like a little escape within Fort Lee. The artistic presentation of each dish turns eating into something that's just as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. This isn't just dessert; it's a moment of pause and enjoyment. I'll definitely be returning to try more--especially the seasonal desserts and specialty drinks. If you're exploring desserts in Fort Lee, Cheongsu's a must‑visit, and it's catching serious hype for good reason. Highly recommend giving it a try! Im already looking forward to telling my friends and visiting again to try other things here! Important tip: don't try to call the number listed on Google- it can be misleading. The cafe is so busy that staff don't have time to pick up the phone, so it's better to visit in person.

ambiance- 5/5 loved the concept of a traditional Korean dessert shop! The decor really delivered and it felt like I was in a mountaintop tea shop in Korea. It's $$ but you're also paying for the experience. Injeolmi formage 4/5 I'm not sure if it was just me, but the traditional roasted nutty flavor of injeolmi didn't stand out. The crumble on top just tasted like a sweet cobbler topped with cocoa dusting. I'm curious if the other formages(matcha, strawberry) better showcase their flavors

Came here for a weekend date after wanting to try it for a while. Desserts are really pretty and thoughtfully plated. The weekday Korean Special set is worth it if you can go during the week -- comes with tea and a mix of pastries and traditional sweets. The berry jelly was refreshing. Matcha Fromage looks amazing and isn't too sweet. Perilla Hoji Financier was my favorite -- nutty and fragrant. Coffee was solid too (oat milk lattes both hot and iced). Nice spot for a cute date or girls' afternoon tea.

My husband and I stopped by and had a lovely experience. I was nervous it would be super busy since they don't take reservations but there was plenty of space when we arrived at around 11:30 on a Sunday. The staff was welcoming and led us to order from the screens. The hardest part was deciding what to try. We ended up sharing the black sesame Bingsu, chocolate soufflé, chocolate yakgwa, coconut Financier, latte, and jasmine tea (Harney and Sons brand). We actually enjoyed every item. Nothing was too sweet, which we really liked. The first to come out were the small tea treats with our drinks. The yakgwa was lightly sweetened with a small crunch. The black sesame Bingsu came out second and was so deliciously light. The best part was they blended black sesame on the inside of the Bingsu as well so it wasn't just ice as you ate toward the center. The chocolate soufflé came out piping hot and was very light, fluffy, and rich all at the same time. It resembled a molten lava cake mixed with a soufflé pancake. Overall delicious and satisfying. Would definitely come back to try more.

With its picture-ready plates, Cheongsu lies at the intersection of art and desserts. The cafe is in inside what looks like a two-family converted home, which makes the entryway feel strangely like coming to someone's house. Once inside, the space is tight but cozy. An enormous front window and skylights provide lots of ambiance, which may have been why it was abuzz with so many customers on a weekday afternoon. There's a large bar area that takes up a good fraction of the overall space, but much of it is used to prepare drinks and desserts. The actual ordering process takes place through one of two standalone kiosks. Considering how steady the foot traffic and how detail-oriented the workers had to be to make the drinks and desserts, I was surprised at how quickly our order came out. The desserts are a sight. We snagged a spot close to the kitchen window so we were able to sneak a glance into the painstaking process that went into their signature fromage desserts. They're like small square landscapes with a sponge base, a whipped cheese-based mousse, and hand-broken black sesame sponges. What I assumed would be style over substance turned out to be a light, airy, well-balanced dessert. We got the matcha fromage, and I appreciated how the sprinkling of matcha powder helped counteract the overall sweetness. For our beverage, we ordered a caramel macchiato, which was a smaller than expected serving but delicious. Though the vibes are calm and unhurried, this definitely didn't feel like the sort of cafe where one could linger. With new parties coming through and building up queues that clogged the little standing space in the main room, it didn't feel right to hang onto a table for too long (and, as my husband noticed, the chairs are too hard to sit for too long without discomfort). Everything on the menu is pretty fancy and made-to-order, and the prices definitely reflect that. Thankfully, there's an adjoining lot with a few free parking spots to offset the expensive cafe visit (heed the warnings others have left about the tight and steep ramp - it's hard to angle your car into it and I could see how some would scrape the bottom of their car if they tried to enter or exit at a certain speed).

Lovely cafe so pretty inside I loved the chocolate soufflé it was really good I love the atmosphere and I loved the matcha and tea set

Food: I tried the hot matcha latte, iced mixed grains latte, and the red bean bingsu. The drinks were pleasant. The matcha was strong and grassy with subtle sweetness. Just the way I like it. The mixed grains latte was a bit sweet for my liking but tasted the part. The bingsu was fluffy, creamy, and exactly what I was looking for. While others might want more fun and fruity flavors, I appreciated the traditional taste of the red bean and malt syrup. I would definitely go back. Service: No issues. It was relatively fast and orders were correct. Ambiance: Stellar! Easily one of my favorite spots when it comes to the decor, atmosphere, and setting. The wooden accents and old world, and feel all feel optimized for ultimate serenity. They really know how to transform a building to feel like I hopped back into a historic district of Korea. It truly feels like a break from the outside world. I love sitting down here to read.

3.5 stars, but I'm feeling generous. Maybe it's all the mugwort. While waiting for a table at Aquarius, our food crew ventured over to Cheongsu to have dessert before dim sum. I didn't visit the OG location when I was in Seoul, but I assume it's just as lovely (if not lovelier) as this slice of Asian zen heaven. Even if the pastries weren't the best I've ever had made by Korean hands, I'd probably eat sawdust just to have a place this pretty and serene in the city. On that, the popular Mugwort Scone was a realization in grassy, herbacious breadliness. Not sure I'd ever CHOOSE this flavor of scone in any other context, but I applaud the out-of-the-box creativity. We also got a variety of yakgwas to try--not normally my preferred flavor profile, but these were surprisingly satisfying. The Nuts and Original were great, while the Black Sesame and Injeolmi were too dry. Similarly, the Injeolmi Madeleine was not my cup of tea either. Speaking of tea, do sip some Hot Misugaru if you want something distinctly Korean, hearty and warming for your insides. If I'm ever in this neck of Korean woods again, I will definitely bring a crew again to try the rest of the offerings.

One of the hidden gem for dessert in Fort Lee. Traditional Korean deco makes you feel like you are in Seoul. We order Black sesame soufflé castella takes 25min but the attention to detail is well worth it. Go well with Matcha Milk and Misutgaru cream milk. It rather to see this passion with well presentation. Excellent. The only problem it's limited space

9/10 Food and drink were really pretty. My friends got the matcha cream milk with strawberry base and the mandarin orange ade. We split the matcha fromage. So picturesque! I think the matcha fromage was good, but not my style. I really loved the cream on the matcha fromage and would like a version without chestnuts and cake; just the cream bottom with matcha on top! The place was bustling at 1:30PM on a Saturday. Their upstairs seating area is under renovation. There were so many people in the small dining area and I felt very stressed. Honestly, the turnover for the tables was pretty high in case they quoted a wait time. Next time, I would come at a less busy time. No real service here. They call out your name, you get your food, and they leave you alone.

    What is the parking situation?

There's a small parking lot next to the location, and street metered parking is available, free on Sundays. However, parking in the lots across the street carries a high risk of getting ticketed.

There's plenty of seating and comfortable boots. I got the pistachio latte which I couldn't taste the pistachio that much. I also got the Dubai Knafa brownie which is $10 but it's a pretty big size that I took the rest home for later so I'd say it's worth a try. Service was friendly and kept clean. Overall it's convenient and tasty but just a bit overpriced.

It's smack in the middle of Fort Lee's Main Street, adjacent to the new Fort Lee Commons Park so easily walkable and central to everything. 2. Well, it's kinda glam inside. It's a coffee shop with green velvet booths (can't even remember if I ever visited a coffee shop with actual booths) and pretty gold-embedded wallpaper and trim all around. Kinda like a Dubai chocolate bar that came to life. And that's kind of where it ends for me. I gave this spot two tries. On the first visit. I ordered a mocha and could barely taste any mocha, so I brought it back to the counter to ask if they can pour more. They did. Gave it a good stir. Still couldn't taste it. On the second try, I ordered a potato Turkish bagel and asked for smoked salmon with it (which I saw they used in one of their sandwiches). What I got was a Turkish potato bagel (for which the potato part is invisible) and a whole other smoked salmon sandwich. No wonder my bill came out to $29?! The cashier understood I wanted a smoked salmon sandwich AND a bagel. So, lesson learned: a Turkish bagel is served and eaten differently than a traditional bagel, which would've come with the smoked salmon in the inside like a sandwich. Also ordered a biscotti latte. Biscotti taste is (very) subtle but I think it was there?? Best part about my second visit is the manager, Mo, came over to check on us and offer us refresher drink samples. Very nice guy (thanks again, Mo!) If you're an artisan coffee head who seeks a deep enriched tasteful coffee, I'd go elsewhere. If you're looking for velvet booths, instagrammable background, and pretty-looking pastry display, check it out. It's all looks and no depth.

I noticed that Mavi's has installed wall mounted televisions, which scroll menu items, specials, and upcoming events. This was my first time ordering from their brunch menu and it was outstanding. My Western Omelette (ham, onion, mushroom, pepper, egg, potato, arugula, almond slices) was an excellent choice. Every ingredient was fresh, the eggs were fluffy, and it was accompanied by a side salad and two large slices of multigrain bread. The other items were the artistically presented Avocado Salad (Avocado, tomato, onion crisp, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, arugula mixed salad, almond slices with balsamic glaze and sesame dressing) and the Toowoomba Shrimp Donkatsu (crispy, golden-fried cutlet smothered in a rich, creamy, and spicy Cajun Toowoomba sauce with shrimp, onions, and mushrooms, served alongside a half-portion of pasta). This dish is succulent, creamy, pleasantly spicy, and thoroughly enjoyed. I'll never dine at Mavi's without ordering a Kimchi Bulgogi Pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, onion, mushroom, bulgogi beef, kimchi, scallion, spicy mayo drizzle). Not only does every ingredient dance in your mouth, but the soft beet infused crust makes this one of the best pizzas I've happily savored.

I was excited to finally order dinner after hearing good things, but my husband and I were unfortunately disappointed with the experience. We ordered takeout for dinner: Toowoomba Shrimp Pasta with Tonkatsu and the Spicy Original Tteokbokki (rice cakes) with Fried Kim-ma-ri (fried seaweed rolls). The shrimp pasta had good flavor but the portion was way too tiny. After only three or four bites, it was gone. There were about 4 pieces of shrimp in the entire dish and they could've added more pasta, given that it's not an expensive ingredient. The tonkatsu was also underwhelming. It was a small piece served in a large container that made the portion size look even more skimpy. I was also disappointed in the tteokbokki. It was mostly sauce with no egg and only a few pieces of fish cake, again served in a container that was far too large for the amount of food provided. The kim-ma-ri pieces were fine but also very small. Overall, the meal was underwhelming. For a total cost of nearly $50, the quantities were just way too small. We were left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry.

While the menu is more expansive towards coffees, and drinks, accompanied by the usual suspects of desserts, they have two unusual items that drew my attention. First is the CROFFLE: Short for Croissant-Waffle. I didn't think anything of it but I was forced to buy it because they ran out of regular croissants. I was reluctant but she convinced me to try it! I don't get easily surprised but this homemade pastry is TO DIE FOR! It literally tastes like a croissant because it is made out of croissant dough but cooked like a waffle. This gives the crunchy effect of a waffle on the outside combined with a chewy inside that is made to order in a few minutes! You have a selection of eight sweet and three savory flavors to choose from but I like the plain with butter and may be some preserves, just like a warm flaky croissant. The second is the taiyaki in Japanese or boong-uh-bbang in Korean literally means goldfish bread because it is made in the shape of a large goldfish. It is filled with one of three flavors: Red bean, vanilla custard or Nutella. It takes about 12-minutes to make but they are really good too. The ambience is quaint, warm charming and somewhat nostalgic! Everything is clean and tidy too! The service is good and prompt. It is a little expensive, especially the goldfish bread ($4/piece; minimum of 4/order, so $16), but well worth the flavor explosion! This mini-cafe/desert place is a jewel and a find among the industrial giants that punch out the same -old, same-old and I recommend it highly, especially for the "Croffle" and the "Goldfish Bread!"

It turned out the red bean was spoiled, so I had to go back and ask them to remake the drink without it. This time, on 12/27 around 5:30 PM, I ordered a hojicha latte. After placing my order, I noticed there was a free size upgrade promotion running throughout December, so I asked if my drink could be upgraded. The staff member said no, explaining that it had to be done while ordering for the promotion to apply. That excuse felt very lame and honestly came across as laziness, especially since it was a free upgrade and could have easily been accommodated. At another Maiko location (Garden State Plaza), the staff proactively informed me about the promotion and asked if I wanted the upgrade, which is what I would expect. Unfortunately, the Fort Lee location didn't offer the same experience. Even after I asked, it felt like I was given weak excuses rather than a genuine effort to help. On top of that, the hojicha latte here was overly milky. I've had the same drink at other Maiko locations where it tasted much nuttier and more balanced, so this was disappointing. I really love Maiko overall, but based on these experiences, I wouldn't visit the Fort Lee location again.
