New Cafe in Fort Lee review!! Food 8/10 Atmosphere 6/10 Service 6/10 Value 5/10 Tips: busy weekend brunch time 12-2pm seating will take ~10-15 mins. Overall had mixed feelings about this place, details below: Food menu concept is unique - Korean fusion food, but dont come here if you are looking for authentic ddukbokki for instance. Food tasted pretty good, drinks were ok. Basil pesto pasta is creamy, I highly recommend the mushroom soup, and the chicken sandwich is all right. Fries were cooked perfectly. The Matcha cloud tasted kind of sour? Interior is clean and stuff are friendly. Despite being very busy, they were attentive. However, it took them long to get a seated, even though there were tables available. The young lady, barista, seemed to be confused/inefficient, taking orders at the same time and asked our party of three how many people we have multiple times, just kept going back-and-forth without really doing anything? And I was just standing there with my plate of baked goods and she just stared at me without asking me if I needed help or if I needed to pay. There is a fun display of different flavors of Madeline's and financiers, but I was disappointed, it didn't taste fresh. However, they have a lot of options and flavors and unique Korean fusion baked goods. For the price point, it is high for New Jersey, however, if you want Korean fusion food, I would try it, not sure if I would come here for dinner or any of the "experiences" or tasting menu. Also seems way too hyped up for what it is but I hope they do well and get used to the fast pace service on weekends. Also the owner was there as well and seemed to be attentive to her customers.

Yummy food and clean ambiance. Their waiters are always so bright and friendly. I'll definitely be back for more lunches and possibly even check out their dinner menu.

Starting off with the good. Their coffee is very tasty, smooth without any bitterness pairing perfectly with any of their sweet treats. Their display of baked goods is very aesthetic and enticing. Their desserts are actually not too sweet so it wasn't difficult to eat more than one without feeling sick. It seems like their financiers are one of their potential star desserts. I enjoyed their long financier option more because it had more of that signature crispy chewy outside and moist inside. Also, not too sweet which I loved. Their shorter financiers did not have that chewy outside and felt too cake like. It also tasted a bit floury or doughy on the inside. The berry one had so much potential. Their strawberry financier did not taste like strawberry at all, it just tasted like a sweet coating. Their cookies remind me of chip city or levain with how big they are. I really enjoyed their chocolate chip and walnut one. The nut addition was really great and added great texture. But wasnt a cookie to rave about. Not sure i would get it again. Their cheesecake is super creamy and delicious. This is something I highly recommend. One gripe I have is calling the raspberry cheesecake a raspberry cheesecake because they put a single raspberry on top. I was looking for an actual raspberry cheesecake with more raspberry flavor. Is the blueberry cheesecake a cheesecake with one blueberry on top? Haha They also offer scones. Mine was a bit white inside so it seemed a bit undercooked. I just don't like how it says jam and butter scone but there is literally a pinky toenail amount of jam and butter so its really just a plain scone. The one bite I had with the jam and butter though was really good. This is def something they can easily adjust. Lastly, while looking at the menu, it seemed pretty basic for the steep prices. I did however love their truffle fries. Super crispy and fragrant. Overall, I think there is a ton of potential for this cafe. Nowhere else is offering financiers and scones like this but def needs some adjustments to gain some returning customers.

My friends and I had brunch here on a Saturday. It was very busy inside, and all the tables were filled quickly by 12:00 PM. For appetizers, we started with French fries to share and also got the crab cream croquette and the mushroom soup. The croquettes and the mushroom soup were my favorites. We also ordered the mala shrimp pasta and the rose cream pasta. The mala shrimp pasta was very spicy, but there was way too much oil in it. They may need to tone down the mala for people who can't take too much spice. The rose cream pasta was good and super creamy, though it could've used some more protein, like chicken or shrimp. There was only one waitress taking orders and handling all the tables so the service was a bit slow. All in all, I thought the interior was very pretty and clean, but I did not think the food was anything out of this world. I like that it's BYOB, and I will be coming back to try the dinner menu. *There is a public parking space next to the restaurant, but it was impossible to find a spot because it was full and cars were circling around to try to snag a spot.

i went here with a friend. it has a nice ambiance. i didn't know it was a korean european fusion place so when i first saw the menu i was a little confused. i picked the aglio e olio pasta because i thought that was a good choice because i love pasta and its my usual go to but i was very underwhelmed by it. i know its not an Italian spot but i was looking for more flavor. i'm italian so i take pasta very seriously. i ate some of it and then packed the rest up. i ended up giving it to my friend to bring home. my friend also had a chicken dish and enjoyed it. so maybe it was just my choice of food. the service was good, we had the waitress checking in on us and asking how everything is. i didn't realize when i first parked that the parking lot is a paid parking area so its not free parking.

If you're bicycling the GWB this is a must place for a meal, omg the egg and toast was heaven the best breakfast I have had in years perfect. Food, venue, service, cutlery, plates, furniture and patio all quality and well thought out. If you're passing through Fort Lee it's right off the GWB it's worth the stop.

I made a 12PM reservation at AURI and realized that this was part of their soft opening in Fort Lee. The space itself is beautiful, with a nicely decorated interior featuring a spacious coffee and pastry setup in the front, with seating towards the back end of the restaurant. You could tell they are still putting the finishing touches on a few items, with some construction in the back patio but we were seated quickly and greeted warmly. Unfortunately, that's when things started to go down hill as I could immediately tell they their FOH seemed to be short-staffed. Our waitress was friendly and sat us down, though things began to break down as items started to come out in piece meal and communication started to fall apart. At first I was told that my selection, a croissant sandwich, was no longer available after waiting for nearly 25 minutes. Annoyingly this was only communicated to me after I had already ordered so I made a last-minute pivot to the pasta, hoping it would come quicker as another member of our table had ordered that dish. Then, we were informed that the waitress made a mistake and they did in fact have the croissant HOWEVER they no longer had chicken, meaning my poor friend had to wait even longer for his order to be made. Confusingly they did end up bringing out my original croissant dish (which my friend ended up eating, given how hungry he was) but apparently they had no chicken (which they communicated nearly half an hour after we originally ordered). During this confusion multiple waitresses took our order or stopped by so there didn't seem to be a clear flow of communication. When I told one waitress about the issue she ran down to check, but then our original waitress came back and gave conflicting information. All in all it was a bit of a mess, and multiple tables around us ended up having the same issue. At the end of the day I get it's a soft opening and I'm generally flexible when it comes to delays but the lack of communication, conflicting information and general sense of confusion was really hard to swallow. I'd consider giving this place another shot after a few months once they (hopefully) resolve their issues.

Love the space, so bright and airy. The pistachio and sweet potato lattes were delicious. Also had parking right next door which we love. Highly recommend the mushroom soup and rose pasta was def my fave. Very good portions too. So delicious but not too heavy. Will def be coming back

    Auri Pasta Salad
    Bryan O.

My wife and I finally stopped by Auri in Fort Lee after driving past it for months, and we're really glad we did. We went during dinner a couple days after Christmas, and it was decently busy despite the snow (always a good sign) The space itself is warm, cozy, and very clean, and the lighting/furniture make it feel quite welcoming. The pastry showcase right by the entrance is radiant (and tempting!). The service was excellent - warm, friendly, and attentive without hovering over us. The staff also gave great recommendations, which we ended up following (we were really glad we did). We ordered Set Menu B, a 3-course meal consisting of: Auri Pasta Salad, Salmon Papillote, and Mini Rice Cake (milk + black sesame options). We also ordered the Almond Perilla Pasta separately. The Auri Pasta Salad was a great way to start -- fresh, light, and well-balanced. The slightly sweet-tangy dressing was subtle but different from a typical salad, and the portion was generous enough to share. The Almond Perilla Pasta was a standout. Served cool, it had strong nutty flavors with a light, silky sauce and lots of shredded perilla on top. If you're familiar with perilla noodles, this feels both comforting and new. Even for those who are not, it's approachable and very satisfying. The Salmon Papillote was the highlight of the meal. It came wrapped in parchment, and the chef actually came out to open it and explain the dish, which made it feel special. The salmon was moist, the veggies were flavorful, and every bite tasted a little different with its own unique flavor and texture (in a good way). This is definitely something I'd come back for on its own as a stand-alone dish. For the dessert, we had the Milk Rice Cake, which was light, subtly sweet, and perfect after such a flavorful meal. It tasted more like a dessert cake than a traditional rice cake, yet the ingredients are healthier than a traditional dessert cake (great for those who are watching their sugar levels). The cake paired nicely with coffee, which was essential to offset the food coma that typically follows an incredibly satisfying dinner. Overall, the vibe of Auri is a thoughtful, well-executed café with unique dishes, great service, and a cozy vibe. We left full but not weighed down, and we will definitely be back - especially to try more pastries and enjoy the patio when the weather is nicer. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something different in Fort Lee!

I stopped by during their soft opening after randomly passing it on the street, and I'm so glad I did! I hadn't heard any buzz about a new café opening, but the space looked so bright and inviting from the outside that it immediately caught my attention. I tried their oat milk matcha (I'm pretty picky about matcha!), and I was really impressed -- especially that you can control the sweetness. Such a nice touch. The overall vibe feels full of potential, and their dessert display looked so tempting. I'm already planning to come back for a ladies' brunch soon. They mentioned they're working on an outdoor patio, which I think will be amazing once the weather warms up. I can already picture it being a perfect hangout spot. While it's not quite a work-from-a-café place yet, they do offer free Wi-Fi, and I'm excited to see how the space continues to grow and evolve. Overall, such a lovely new addition to the neighborhood, and I can't wait to return to try more from their menu!

Finally got to try this place I heard so much about on a Christmas day with wife because it was…read morefrigid and we wanted a warm bowl of Korean "tang"(soup). Finding parking is quite challenging given the location on a busy commercial street, so make sure you can come earlier than meal time to have better luck. They have waiting seats OUTSIDE so yeah I suppose it's quite popular at times. 1. ATMOSPHERE (3/5) - This location is small and it's pretty straightforward place. But I still found it cozy, with decent amount of seating (I think it can handle 15-20 max) and little details like wall with wood ledges and coat hangers were a nice touch. Seating was comfortable, though we tied our down parkas around our waist as another party had hung theirs on our side of coat hangers. 2. FOOD (4/5) - We dove right in to try their famous gejang (~Korean raw crab "ceviche") and ordered two of their namesake gookbap (rice with soup) to see how they are. Here's how it went down. - Gejang (App, $20, 2/5) - I had a hunch that on a holiday perhaps I should not order this, but my craving for succulent crab flesh be damned, I went for it and unfortunately, the meat was not well-marinated as I had feared. Gejang is a dish that has to sit in the complex soy-based pickling liquid for some time... and if restaurant is too busy churning them out or if it's slow season they won't do this properly. It not only wasn't fully marinated, I think the marinade was off because the spiciness was way out of balance and was overpowering. Perhaps knowing that it didn't have enough time to marinade the kitchen put extra diced jalapenos to compensate? Because that's exactly what it tasted like - you can't fool me. I tried to salvage the dish by asking a confused-looking girl server for some sugar, but yeah, can't un-do the overpowered marinade with sprinkling of sugar. This was really unfortunate as I was looking forward to a good bite. - Ahjae Gookbap (Main, $18, 5/5) - Thankfully, their namesake gookbap was spot-on to salvage our dining. Generous slabs of succulent beef on the bone and off the bone was swimming in a hearty beef/bone broth that tasted clean and focused. Portion was good, and can I say their banchan of fish cake moochim & unfermented kimchi & ggakdugi(radish kimchi) simply ROCKS? That was some serious deliciousness and dare I say value at $18 at a day and age where hamburger costs over $10! You win at life by ordering this! 3. SERVICE (4/5) - Our server girl was attentive and food came out early on though later it was a bit hard to get her attention promptly. We found ourselves putting hands in the air, and wavin' like we don't care... for a little while. They provide gloves & metal bin for gejang which was a nice touch for people to keep their fingers clean. One thing I'd like to mention: Plastic cup they served water in was all chipped on the rim so we instead went and got water from their hot & cold water dispenser which had metal cups (as many korean restaurants do). I'd suggest them to replace all these old plastic cups with metal ones for health reasons. Overall, we were satisfied with our meal. I'd chock up the gejang mishap to it being a holiday. I hope chef was just off with the marinade that day because I am a certified gejang pro(I catch and make my own) and that balance ain't it. But I will give it another try during warmer month and we'll definitely be back to try sooyook moochim, oyster jeon & other great soup offerings.

Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.
