Stopped here for a bite again - this time more pictures. They have parking in the back, but downstairs is very tight (best for compacts only). The sweet is better - double chocolate dipped croissants were good. The thousand layer bread was just ok, and the savory garlic ham sandwich was meh - we didn't like the onions, they were very weird if you didn't eat them right away. They do take credit cards.

I am a buns guy. I frequently come here when I'm in the area, it's one of the most authentic Korean bakeries around New York. They are even up to trend with all of the popular bun styles that they offer in Korea. As with most Korean buns, most bread might be a sweet and savory is rare. The staff are busy and friendly, quick to replace and lay out fresh ones. Come quickly or they sell out. There's seating available with utensils, great for chatting or eating the buns on the spot.

Blue colored two layer chocolate cake with strawberry filling. ( At least that was it was supposed to taste like)

Ordered a large 2 level cake. It was supposed to be chocolate cake with strawberry filling. 2 of my guest asked me if the filling went bad and some said it tasted like cinnamon. I tasted it myself the filling flavor was off, not pleasant. Then the cake itself did not taste like chocolate. It definitely was embarrassing since I announced our chocolate cake to everyone. As for the look. It was pretty. I would have preferred the name on top instead of the bottom. But I will never preorder a cake from here. I have bought premade cakes before, just walk in and buy. those were always good. But this preordered was over $200 that did not taste like chocolate cake. So if you want cake get it from the already made window. It was for a Korean first bday so you know how important this was.

Korean bakeries are a dime a dozen, especially in areas with dense Asian populations like Palisades Park. But when I asked fellow bread-lovers about their favorite spots, D'avant Bakery was mentioned with fair regularity. After a few visits, I'd have to agree. I've tried a number of things, all of which have ranged from satisfactory to superb. I love their loaves, which are unimaginably fluffy and have that touch of sweetness that elevate any sandwich or French toast that you make with them. Any of their signature croissant goodies are sure to please. My particular favorite is their million-layer croissant loaf, which allows you to tear a loaf of sugar-crusty bread into diaphanously thin slices. It's a magical piece of baking artistry, and I never leave D'avant without at least two of these in hand. This bakery gets a lot of love, which comes with its pluses and slight downsides. On the positive side of things, offerings are fresh and the staff works hard to keep things clean and organized, even with the regular throngs of people. That said, things slip through the cracks every now and again. Sometimes orders get mixed up, lines wind around to make aisles crowded, or wait times for service can get a little long. There is paid street parking but with so much popular commerce in the area, spots can be hard to come by, particularly during weekends or mealtimes.

Impressive display of pastries & cakes, and reminds me of the cafes in Korea! My fiance and I stopped by after dinner nearby, and decided to get the choux cream honey pastry & the strawberry cloud macchiato. The pastry & coffee were both good, but service left much to be desired. One of the ladies was unnecessarily unpleasant, but the other was efficient.

I have passed by here so many times and finally got a chance to stop in. The selection is amazing! So many sweet and savory options. I got the pistachio croissant donut and I am now obsessed. It was filled with a lot of delicious pistachio cream and the white chocolate glaze had such a perfect 'cracking' texture. Definitely going for the chocolate version next! I also had the croque monsieur with corn and s'mores cookie, which were delicious too. The s'mores cookie is more like a stuffed croissant so it is very filling. Consensus among my fellow tasters was the pistachio donut! Pricing is on the higher side but very worth it. The food quality is excellent and portions are very large. Luckily I had family to share it with bc there are signs that the cream products should be consumed within 24 hours. Everything I tried was very fresh. You can park out front and there is signage for a parking lot in back. I'm definitely coming back here!

Have been here multiple times after initially discovering it a few years ago after getting my hair cut at a salon in the same building. Much better quality and selection than something like Paris Baguette There's always a decent amount of people, but never much of a wait to checkout. Seating is somewhat limited but I usually get everything to go Favorites are matcha croissant, matcha and black sesame tigre, garlic cream cheese bun, matcha/red bean and sesame/red bean breads!

    Snow Strawberry Matcha Croissant (~$7)

Ordered: Snow Strawberry Matcha Croissant (~$7) Ube White Chocolate Cookie (~$5) Small Iced Cloud Macchiato (~$6) Small Iced Lychee Coconut Cloud (~$7) Aya's take: Beautiful drinks, fresh & fluffy pastries, and variety for days! What more could you ask for? The hard part is not putting one of everything on the tray and just choosing a couple that catch your eye the most. I landed on the Snow Strawberry Matcha Croissant which was fantastic! The croissant was soft and flaky, the matcha cream was absolute perfection, and the strawberries were fresh and sweet! I didn't expect this to be as good as it was. The Ube White Chocolate Cookie was also a good try. The ube flavor isn't as strong or noticeable but the white chocolate brought out the flavors well. Now for the drinks! My Iced Lychee Coconut Cloud looked nothing like the photo lol. It looks like the cloud part was already mixed with the coconut water that's supposed to be under it. Other than that, great lychee flavor, not overly sweet, and a solid summer drink. The Iced Cloud Macchiato was more bold and creamy. For some reason, the seating area was a bit loud and chaotic but nonetheless, I'm glad I finally made it here. I would absolutely come back!

As a weekly customer, I came in with my friend because we wanted to study. We set our things down before we got up to get the sweet breads that we usually get. Immediately a worker came up to us and told us that we have to buy something in order to be here -- her exact words. I hadn't even gotten the chance to sit down and she was being quite rude. Not sure if it's because we were dressed in our gym clothes or just how we looked but I did not appreciate how they were eyeing us down and her tone. I stayed to study just to make them uncomfortable but will definitely not be returning here again. Just for proof, here's the sweet bread we always get and got today. Also l an example of their $9 iced matcha w extra foam that we have been getting weekly since November. Do better!

The last few times that we visited NJ, my bf and I would always visit this bakery to bring back to NYC. I'm obsessed with their strawberry ube latte drink. I've had their strawberry matcha one as well and it was good but I prefer the ube one more. As for their bakery items, I really like their garlic bread chips and their sesame red bean cream buns! The place has lots of seating and it always has a decent amnt of ppl inside. The staff is nice and friendly.

Such a lovely bakery! Honestly, I love the bread and cakes here more than PB and TLJ. Everything is so good--I'm definitely ordering a whole cake for the next birthday! I kinda want to gatekeep it, but had to say... I love everything here!!

I've now been here several times and it's become one of my go-to stops whenever I'm in the area. I've even had a friend pick up a goguma cake here for my birthday and it was SO good! I love the pastries they have here as it's more Korean style than the ones in mainstream bakeries like Paris Baguette or Tous Les Jours. It's hard to find seating so it's more of a takeaway place for me!

Although the store clearly sells iced coffee--meaning they do have access to ice--I was extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I received, especially on a day with such high temperatures. I kindly requested a small amount of ice to help keep my friend's birthday cake cool during transport, and my request was denied without consideration. What's most frustrating is that there is a sign stating that all fresh cakes must be kept refrigerated and served within 24 hours. I explained that I would be driving a long distance and that the cake would be out of the refrigerator for at least two hours. Despite this, they still refused to provide even a small portion of ice to help preserve the quality of the cake. A simple gesture like that could have made a big difference and shown a genuine care for customers. I have appreciated this business in the past, but this experience was truly disappointing. I don't wish to name individuals, but the manager I spoke with did not demonstrate the professionalism or customer service that one would expect in such a role.

I would say Service is pretty nonexistent as you order on the counter and you see yourself with no waitressing. The cashier lady was also pretty rude and not accomodating to my request (make my drinks less sweet) so they lose a store for that. Atmosphere is cute and vibes are great, definitely has modern and traditional Korean vibes. However, I would not say that this is like a traditional tea house? Having been to A LOT of tea houses in Korea, their menu and concept is definitely far from what a traditional teahouse is like. For instance, a traditional teahouse would have assorted rice, cakes and traditional, Korean desserts, however, I feel like this place used modern French pastries, and put a Korean twist on them, which I would say is not very Korean in reality. Baked goods were OK. It tasted stale. Losing a star for that as well.
