This place is great if you're looking for simple no frill bingsu. My parents loved it here as it reminded them of bingsu you can get in Korea, which normally is just shaved ice and red bean. We got the black sesame bingsu and it was a little messy with the black sesame dripping form all over the sides but it was so good. It came with red bean and mochi on the inside. We ended up getting two large and it was perfect to split amongst 6 people who love bingsu -- we thought we might have to fight over it lol. I don't know if this bingsu comes in other sizes but I wouldn't know because the guy at the counter offered no help, greeting or anything. When I first came, I ordered a regular cheesecake bingsu and the guy entered my order but when I looked down, there was a little sign that said "strawberry cheesecake" in English with the rest in Korean, so I said, "No, wait". I wasn't sure if "strawberry cheesecake" meant they only had strawberry cheesecake or strawberry cheesecake bingsu as well. Anyhoo, all-in-all, maybe I would come back but only if someone else wanted to go. The bingsu was ok. The cheesecake was dry somehow but the bingsu was nice. They offer beverages ranging from homebrew coffee, pour-overs, cold brews, teas, and bubble tea. Their coffee is quite good but at times, depending on who is making it, it can be very strong. We have experienced their cold brew, pour-over, homebrew, and latte. The most consistent one was their homebrew. We had ordered the Black Sesame Bingsu on several occasions and were never disappointed. This one is made from milk ice instead of water ice, making this dessert more creamy and decadent. Our snow-shaven mountain contained toasted almonds, black sesame, red bean, and Korean rice cake. We also had their taiyaki in both red beans and custard. LOVE their bingsoo/ shaved ice. they make it just like how they make these in korea, but good things stop there. person working the register is extremely rude and not at all custom service oriented. he couldn't bother to be working there and had no patience while we were deciding what to order. there was nobody else in the line! when we asked for some extra cups and utensils, he rolled his eyes at us. i didn't see any sign that limits number of cups or utensils. that is NO WAY to treat a PAYING CUSTOMER! and when the food is ready, they scream at the top do their lungs the order number as if they were in a SCREAMING argument with your worst enemy. i'm sure there is another bingsu place in the area. don't waste your time and money here. read more

TLDR: Cheesecake Bingsoo is a MUST-TRY dessert. Nutella Taiyaki is wonderful, as it's straight off the griddle; make sure to eat it from the tail side first. No bathroom due to pandemic. 30 min limit to eat inside cafe, but doesn't seem to be strictly enforced. I've been going to Cafe Mocha for about 5-6 years now, and it still remains victorious as my favorite dessert spot in NJ! I've had their Milk, Mocha, Black Sesame, Cheesecake, and Earl Grey Milk Tea bingsoos, but the Cheesecake Bingsoo is by far the best bingsoo I've EVER had (even among the bingsoos I've had in Korea). The Cheesecake Bingsoo is an indescribable delicacy with its wonderfully creamy texture, scrumptious cheesecake bites, and golden strings of syrupy drizzle--a must have if you're ever in the area! The Earl Grey Milk Tea Bingsoo is a summer seasonal item, I believe, and it's a close second. It comes with mochi, almonds, and tapioca pearls as toppings; the taste of the earl grey is a bit muted in my opinion, but I definitely prefer my food with more intense flavor. I most recently had the Mocha Bingsoo, and one of its most redeeming qualities is the chunks of brownie scattered under the surface of crushed Oreo. The downside, however (and this applies to the Milk, Mocha, and Black Sesame bingsoos), is that the texture of the shaved ice is truly fitting of the name: ICE. If you prefer a more creamy consistency, I recommend going with a different flavor. The intensity of the taste is also lacking in my opinion, but again, I prefer more intense flavors. I also always get the Nutella Taiyaki whenever I go, and you really can't go wrong with it. It's especially good because the taiyaki comes right off the griddle--it's the perfect compliment to your icy bingsoo! Pro tip (potentially controversial haha): eat from the tail side first; that way, your last couple of bites are full of nutella. I also used to get their Lychee and Milk Tea bubble teas often before COVID-19. Considering that Cafe Mocha isn't exclusively a bubble tea store, the quality of their bubble tea isn't bad: good pearl texture, decent tea but only in slush form as far as I know. The cashiers have never been the friendliest, but they get the job done and act within the boundaries of basic manners. Two things to note: 1. The single bathroom that the cafe has is closed due to the pandemic, which could be a source of worry if you're having a drink or bingsoo. 2. There's a 30 minute limit for eating inside the cafe due to the pandemic, but my friend and I stayed for ~1 hour and didn't get asked to leave. Perhaps it's only applicable if there are lots of customers in the cafe. read more

we were super excited to try their bingsoo but many of their flavors were out sadly. We settled on the injeolmi bingsoo which is soybean powder. The serving size is huge for sure! Besides ordering, everything else is self served. So help yourself to any seat! The bingsoo came with mochi and red bean but it's buried in the middle so it's hard to find. The injeolmi flavor is really just milk/plain bingsoo with powder sprinkled over it. I can't say I'm a fan. The powder is really dry and has a nutty flavor. The bingsoo itself without the powder is just plain ice with a hint of sweetness. For $18, I really expected better. This cafe is one of my favorites in the area. The environment is very calming and the noise level is at a perfect balance. There is bits of chatter here and there, but it is relatively not too loud. Personally, I believe that this cafe is the best place to study/work on any work you have. They have free wifi and it is not slow at all. If you're here for bingsoo (Korean shaved ice), I would recommend the Milk Bingsoo or the Early Grey Bingsoo. I think those two taste the best because it's not to sweet or too overwhelming. It is also at a perfect size to share with a couple of friends. I got the Mocha Bingsoo recently, but I didn't really like this flavor since the Mocha flavor wasn't very strong at all. If you dug into the bingsoo, you'll see some white ice because the mocha flavor didn't get to the inside of the bingsoo. So only the outer layers of the bingsoo had mocha flavor. There were brownies and Oreo crumbs as toppings which was nice, but it made the bingsoo taste more like a chocolate flavored bingsoo rather than a mocha one. Overall, I love this place a lot and studying here especially during finals season. I will probably never order the Mocha Bingsoo ever again, but I I'll definitely get the Milk or Earl Grey Bingsoo again. read more

My favorite is definitely the Cheesecake Milk Ice, but I got the Strawberry Cheesecake Milk Ice since it's a seasonal item and only here from late spring - late summer. It's always so nicely made and tastes so delicious and creamy. I'm a huge cheesecake fan so I always get one of the cheesecake flavors. It only comes in one size and if you split it with 3 people, I'm sure you'll all be full. It's about $17 dollars so splitting this makes it a great deal. This is a cafe and they do have wifi, but I've never seen anyone study here as the music is quite loud and there is always a lot of people there. I wish the space was bigger because it's not too big. It's a bit cramped on the inside and the lighting is dim so I would say this place is more a better spot to just hangout and have some dessert.
