First time ordering here and it was wonderful. We both got two orders of the four tacos. I had the pork and chicken and my husband had the ground beef and pork. We both loved it all but said the pork was our absolute favorite. So tender and so much flavor. We also had the guacamole which was incredible!! The chips and salsa omg the flavor it was delicious. My kids got the kids beef taco and they were very happy as well. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. Order was packed perfectly and arrived on time. Look forward to ordering again!

They serve mocktail margaritas for $10 and we went to the liquor store next door for tequila and then poured it into the drinks ourselves. They even give you shot glasses to pour it into. The mocktail is pretty sour though and not very flavorful, mine was strawberry basil but didn't really taste like strawberry or basil. Small seating area, backs of chairs kept bumping into each other and it's hard to walk to your seat when the place is busy. Also the tables are uneven. One table was slanting to the side a lot. The guacamole and the calamari apps were great. Big portions and delicious. Guac was very fresh and well seasoned, the calamari I loved how big the pieces were, super tender and had a spicy sauce with it that had sautéed almonds which added a nice crunch. And lots of shishito peppers on top. The entrees were average. They got the temperature wrong for my hanger steak. It was still tender and juicy but I didn't like the green sauce on it. Which was spicy and vinegary. The potatoes added nothing to the dish in terms of flavor or texture, I barely ate them. The tomato and avocado salad was good, light and tasty. They served it with corn tortillas but the tortillas are very gooey and bland. My husband liked his scallop tacos a lot. I tried one of his mushroom tacos and didn't like it. Again lots of vinegar, and also it wasn't all mushrooms it had peppers and leeks in it. The desserts were pricey at $12 and pretty average. Nothing special. The churros were dry. I give this place a 4 because I loved their apps and it has a nice vibe despite being cramped. And wait service was professional and friendly.

The restaurant is very pretty overall, though the interior is quite dim, making it difficult to read the menu without additional light. The tables were also placed fairly close together. Our server was polite and welcoming throughout the evening. We started with the Korean fried chicken and tuna tataki. The chicken was moist and coated in a sweet and spicy sauce. The tuna tataki was flavorful; however, the taro chips were very thin and tended to break easily when holding the tuna. For our main courses, we ordered the Icelandic cod, rigatoni, Freebird chicken, and a side of whipped potatoes. Dessert was the hazelnut chocolate crunch, which was a nice way to end the meal. Overall, the food was enjoyable. That said, the pricing felt more in line with a fine dining experience, while the atmosphere and service were closer to an upscale casual restaurant. Some small details, such as the whipped potatoes being served without a serving spoon, stood out. While minor, these details can make a difference, especially at this price point.

It's a nice space to hang out, especially on a warm evening. A few things threw me off, though. The bar staff kept running back and forth between the bar and another building, I'm guessing to grab bottles or restock. It was distracting, and I honestly wish they had just walked quickly instead of sprinting through the space. The bathrooms were also really tight and pretty filthy, which didn't help the overall feel. The food itself was fine, but everything tasted extremely salty. I'd be willing to give it another shot since the place is so hyped up, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

Their leadership,…read morein some indirect fashion, has led to the craftsmanship of El Azteca - A slight chain of Mexican restaurants in a 30 min radius of Bergen County. I will copy and paste this review across the Park Ridge and Mahwah locations so emphasize my appreciate for their consistency in providing great Mexican food. If you are consistently performing, Linguini will take care of you. Like I've taken care of many others. I will bring you to the top with me. If you backstab me. Oh if you come for me at the top, you will reach an abyss so deep you may end up digging to China. Don't test me. I'm not that guy. Anyways, I've tried a lot from Azteca. Most of what they've got is a 4/4.5 out of 5 but I'm rounding up for the full experience. Phenomenal price point. Variety of food that all comes out well. Performs well in restaurant and when the food travels. Friendly staff. And local business of which I support. I suffer from GGS - Good Guy Syndrome, sorry not sorry. My motha, bless her soul. I legit mean bless her soul. Be nice. Pray. Bow down to her. She doesn't eat much food but she even loved the taco salad here so much that she asked to go again. So much protein, so well seasoned. Just as their other options showcase as well. My personal favs are the Kash Burrito and the, what I'd call "trademark" Cod Burrito. Never have seen it elsewhere like this. The wrap is toasted wonderfully, great rice, great salsa. I mean this place just does it real well. I've had tacos, appetizers, desserts. Never let down. El Azteca is consistently good. Constantly pushing out quality product. Is it the best Mexican I've had? No. But it's the most underrated. Being a consistent 4, makes you a five in my books. It's like that girl that's occasionally a 6 or occasionally an 9... you can't bring her home. But that girl that's consistently a 7 or an 8? You let her meet the fam. I don't where I'm going with this one. All I'll say is STOP. Stop going to Chipotle, Bubbakoo's, etc. when you could be supporting a better quality and friendlier priced location in El Azteca. Thank you in advance. I will be watching - LB.

The food is still great. We had scallops, chorizo, brussels sprouts, and a flounder ceviche special. Everything was delicious. The ceviche in particular stood out -- fresh, well-portioned, and nicely "cooked" in lime juice. The sangria is still a highlight too. A big carafe, no ice watering it down, served with glasses full of fruit. The problem is the service. They had two servers and one bus person, and it showed. Everyone seemed to be scrambling, and it was hard to get a moment of attention to ask for anything or even be heard. Our food came out in pieces -- three items, then a long delay, then another. The last dish, calamari, never came. When I tried to tell the waiter we didn't want it anymore if it was forgotten, he didn't listen and insisted on bringing it anyway. We ended up waiting even longer, which just made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, they're now adding an operating/service fee (around 3-4%), which wasn't clearly communicated and just showed up on the bill. It's disappointing because the food is still very good, but the service issues -- and now the added fees -- are taking away from the experience. After this visit, we'll think twice before coming back.

It's a beautiful atmosphere a cool ambience I mean there's so much room for lot of improvement. Mind you we went on a Monday, which is not as busy as a weekend. I had a party of six there was enough tables, and for God sakes there was another room in there that she could've sat me down, but she said to me I had to wait for my party. My party was unfortunately a half an hour late. I am disabled and she did not even offer me to sit down or even say do you want to wait by the bar and have a drink while you wait for your party I stood there for five minutes contemplating what to do because I just didn't even feel welcomed then finally my party showed up the waiter that we had was too busy worried about his FIFA soccer bet more than us. The only reason why I know about this bet is because I was sitting next to the bar as he was talking to the bartender about the bet that he had. We sat at that restaurant for 2 1/2 hours again Monday night not so busy he took his time asking us what we wanted what was going on. He was very laid-back for being a waiter. The bus boy worked harder than him and was trying to make sure that we were OK. It took about three chip baskets to finally get our food and mind you we didn't even order appetizer so imagine if we did ordered appetizer because then we would've been there for three hours. The food was OK wasn't anything spectacular and there was a table sitting next to us. They had the same situation but theirs was worse because of the fact that they were a family of four with two young kids so they ordered the two Young kids got their order served meanwhile, their parents didn't get the order when they start asking questions. I believe the woman is an assistant manager, I will be honest with you. She shouldn't even be in that position because she did not make anything better. All she said to them was I will go check in the kitchen to see where your food is and then she she came back to the father and was like oh well what we can do is pack up your dinner if you cannot sit here any longer or we can offer you a discount ready for this a discount of 20% what does that do to the bill because that 20% could've went to the waiter who by the way was our waiter too so here you go you had two people sitting in the waiter station, and this waiter was basically messing up the business and mind you the two kids got their food way before we did and mind you we were there earlier another improvement that needs to be done is the menu it is too dark in there as I even saw other customers with their phones out and the flashlight on I had my flashlight and magnifier on to see what was going on, so my suggestion is to get those menus re-printed and give it a cleaner look so people can actually see what is on the menu personally, I will not return. I just had to give this review so that people could understand what was going on here on a night that was not even busy so imagine the night that it is busy and I will tell you that lady was had rubbed me the wrong way since I walked into the restaurant, not making me feel comfortable especially that I'm disabled with a cane the only saving grace of that restaurant is the atmosphere and the decor the bus boy who was an older gentleman who really cared about that restaurant and another older gentleman that's at sat us down and the bartender that evening again good luck and here is my photos from the food that was not even that bad. It's just the service needs to be worked on and the menus.
