Guacamole and Chips (rear) and Big Beef Wrap (front)

This review is based on my Covid-19 outdoor dining experience. I came here for lunch with some friends, and thought that the food was yummy, and prices reasonable overall. They have several outdoors spots, but they go quick, so make sure you grab a seat as soon as you see one! I'm not really sure how ordering regularly would work, but since they take orders inside, we took turns going in to order so that someone would be able to keep claim to our outdoor table. You order and pay indoors, and then when the food is ready, they bring it to your table outside. It's not really clear how service really works, because my friends and I were brought our order (which we didn't know was going to happen), but then we cleaned the table ourselves... so is it self service or staff served? They also ask for a tip upfront when you're paying, but you order at the counter instead of being seated outdoors and having someone come take your order. Although the service protocol is confusing, the staff was very friendly, and the food was yummy and reasonably priced. I ordered a burrito, and to be honest, I'm not a burrito fan, but their big beef wrap was delicious, and the salad and tacos my friends ordered looked good. Oh, and they serve you complimentary salsa and chips with your dish - I wish I had known this because then I wouldn't have ordered guacamole and chips for us to nosh on while waiting for our order. The guac was yummy, but it was $9 I would have rather saved... especially given the small serving of guac you're given.

Badlands Nachos, Badlands Tacos Poquito Pollo Tacos Veggin Out Tacos Chips and quac All terrible selections. The problem is the chips, corn tortillas and meat. And the lack of content in the badland nachos. Family of 4 paid a lot for crappy food. Very bad quality. We were all very disappointed. I was embarrassed since my family were visiting. We will never order from here again.

    Blackened chicken quesadillas.

Was in Waldwick for some work training, had a hankering for tacos (as I always do) and searched the area. Came across badlands tacos and 5 minutes later I was pulling into the lot. I was in a bit of a time crunch so I opted for the quesadillas for an easier road munch. They were great, good crunch, not tooo tooo full with cheese, and the blackened chicken was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be stopping in again whenever I find myself in the area.

Badlands taco place is a nice addition to Ramsey downtown. This place opened up a few years ago and has been a go-to from many locals. Mostly people have been doing takeout during the Covid pandemic timeframe however the popularity of this place has not gone down. Some people like to eat inside now since things have been opening up after pandemic however most people still prefer to do takeout. The place is flexible with whatever your preference is and do not push one way or the other. The place is fast, cheap, A good staple to have in your takeout or eating collection.

    Rock in my chili fries.

On August 23 we placed an order and had it delivered. We have had the food at badlands before so we knew what to expect. We ordered some tacos and chili fries. Delivery was fine and we started to eat. Everything was going ok until I got to the bottom of my chili fries and noticed something very hard. It was a rock! At first I thought it was some thing burnt but no.....it was a rock! We called badlands and explained to the young lady on the phone what happened. She started to laugh and said " so do you want another one?" We said "no thank you but wanted to inform you of what happened and that someone could get hurt. She then giggled some more. I wanted to see if maybe she would inform someone in charge but I'm sure she didn't. I'm not sure if this was some cruel joke or a complete accident but someone could have gotten seriously hurt.

My husband has been passing this place by o. His travels for work. So finally one weekend after being out and about town, he decides to go try this place out. It was quiet on the Saturday we went, only 2 other parties were already dining. It was too hot to eat outside so we decided indoors was best. Nice establishment, clean and well maintained. It took a few minutes for the person to come from behind to take our order, she may have been the only person. Ordering was quick and easy and service was within 8-10 minutes. The portions were generous and eye-peeling. My son got the chili n cheese burrito, I got the fish tacos, my husband a bit over hungry got chicken tacos, beef tacos and shredded beef burrito. All cam with tortilla chips and fresh salsa. Very filling, we all tried eachothers choices and everyone was just delicious. My husband was too full from 3 tacos he opted to take the shredded beef burrito home, but he took a huge bite out if it first became he wanted to know if it was good..... it was. A lovely small establisment. I'd have a meal here again.

    Kick'n chick'n burrito

While visiting some family in Ramsey, I had the time to check out badlands tacos. Badlands is connected to a burger joint, so it serves up both Mexican and burgers in the same kitchen. Seemed a bit odd, but the tacos ended up tasting great! I ordered the badlands tacos ($8.50) which comes with two tacos and chips & salsa. The tacos had ground beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream and hot sauce. They were packed with meat and toppings, but lacked a bit of flavor (I couldn't really taste the hot sauce), but the ingredients were fresh! My boyfriend had the kick'n chick'n burrito ($9.95) which comes with a burrito and chips & salsa. The burrito had shredded chicken, guac, cheese, sour cream, lettuce and tomato. He said it was tasty but he needed to add some of the complimentary hot sauce to it for some extra flavor. All in all a great experience with quick & friendly service. Will definitely return when I'm back in the area!

    Chips and Guacamole at $7.95

We really wanted to like this joint, but just too many let downs and a more than moderate price point prevented that. Ordering was a breeze, even though the owner was distracted by an unpleasant guest grumbling about waiting too long for his food. For $38, here's what we had: A vegetable burrito, served with tortilla chips and a side of salsa. Nothing amazing at all. Nothing. A vegetable quesadilla, also served with tortilla chips. Please see the photo, but the presentation was problematic in that the center of the dish was waterlogged as the moisture from the vegetables collected in the center, thereby soggifying the entire center. Not good. Worse still, the underside was burnt, not completely, but enough to affect the overall taste. Guacamole and chips - tasted good, creamy...but was missing my preferred additives of tomato, onion, cilantro, etc. If it was in there, it was chopped so finely that it couldn't be detected or even tasted. A seltzer water and a regular water. That's it. Almost $40 bucks. Not again, Food Lovers.

If you are consistently performing, Linguini will take care of you. Like I've taken care of many others. I will bring you to the top with me. If you backstab me. Oh if you come for me at the top, you will reach an abyss so deep you may end up digging to China. Don't test me. I'm not that guy. Anyways, I've tried a lot from Azteca. Most of what they've got is a 4/4.5 out of 5 but I'm rounding up for the full experience. Phenomenal price point. Variety of food that all comes out well. Performs well in restaurant and when the food travels. Friendly staff. And local business of which I support. I suffer from GGS - Good Guy Syndrome, sorry not sorry. My motha, bless her soul. I legit mean bless her soul. Be nice. Pray. Bow down to her. She doesn't eat much food but she even loved the taco salad here so much that she asked to go again. So much protein, so well seasoned. Just as their other options showcase as well. My personal favs are the Kash Burrito and the, what I'd call "trademark" Cod Burrito. Never have seen it elsewhere like this. The wrap is toasted wonderfully, great rice, great salsa. I mean this place just does it real well. I've had tacos, appetizers, desserts. Never let down. El Azteca is consistently good. Constantly pushing out quality product. Is it the best Mexican I've had? No. But it's the most underrated. Being a consistent 4, makes you a five in my books. It's like that girl that's occasionally a 6 or occasionally an 9... you can't bring her home. But that girl that's consistently a 7 or an 8? You let her meet the fam. I don't where I'm going with this one. All I'll say is STOP. Stop going to Chipotle, Bubbakoo's, etc. when you could be supporting a better quality and friendlier priced location in El Azteca. Thank you in advance. I will be watching - LB.

Small seating area, backs of chairs kept bumping into each other and it's hard to walk to your seat when the place is busy. Also the tables are uneven. One table was slanting to the side a lot. The guacamole and the calamari apps were great. Big portions and delicious. Guac was very fresh and well seasoned, the calamari I loved how big the pieces were, super tender and had a spicy sauce with it that had sautéed almonds which added a nice crunch. And lots of shishito peppers on top. The entrees were average. They got the temperature wrong for my hanger steak. It was still tender and juicy but I didn't like the green sauce on it. Which was spicy and vinegary. The potatoes added nothing to the dish in terms of flavor or texture, I barely ate them. The tomato and avocado salad was good, light and tasty. They served it with corn tortillas but the tortillas are very gooey and bland. My husband liked his scallop tacos a lot. I tried one of his mushroom tacos and didn't like it. Again lots of vinegar, and also it wasn't all mushrooms it had peppers and leeks in it. The desserts were pricey at $12 and pretty average. Nothing special. The churros were dry. I give this place a 4 because I loved their apps and it has a nice vibe despite being cramped. And wait service was professional and friendly.
