Ahhhh Uncle Giuseppes. Where do I begin. This is my Italian nirvana! It's an entire supermarket of all things Italian. From fresh ravioli with dozens of choice, produce, meals (hot and cold), sandwiches, dry cured meats, huge assortment of cheese and a ton of specialty items. Prices are a bit high but that's everywhere. And good Italian food is worth the extra dime IMO. Whenever I go here, it's a 4 shopping bag trip! read more

To be honest this was my first time here ,after hearing how great this place was, I was told the produce was excellent. My first opinion was this place has everything and it's all quality,right on down to the Charlotte Russe cakes. The people were very friendly and the made food looked delicious . Prices were a little steeper than most but you get what u pay for and everything I got was good...EXCEPT the produce. I didn't have time to go through individual items so I bought a few bags of different items. One being Lemons I make lemon water daily and was disappointed when I opened the bag to clean them and they looked pretty bleak..one was actually rotted. Been pizza here every week for the last couple years. This Friday I call at 5:30 asked for 2 Well Done, they say a little over an hour. I arrive at 6:45. Get my pizza at 7:15 ask if it's well done they said too busy can't leave it in an extra minute. So I take my undercooked pizza home. The bottom box the pizza has a home in it. You don't think they saw the home when they were slicing it. Seriously guys I show up every week and this is what I get. I tried to be understanding that the pizza couldn't be well done but it's really undercooked. And to give any customer a pizza with a hole in it is shameful. You know you saw the home when you were slicing it. Why would you give it to a customer. And it was cold. Definitively not the pizzas they were pulling from the oven. This had been sitting around. I waited over hour after placing the order to leave for the store. Then another 40 minutes in the store and this is what they served me. So disappointed in you guys. This is really bad service. First time walking in right when you walk in you see the cheeses that's pretty cool. The whole supermarket is very nice to walk around so I'm gonna go straight into it. I was really there for the bakery because I wanted to see what was going on and I also wanted to find out what was the whole hype about of uncle Giuseppe's the hype is truly there. It was very well organized as a supermarket. It was very clean. The staff is very nice. Basically what I got was like an empanada of a cannoli out of this world like something so you wouldn't never see. I don't think very good concepts and you had the the usual Saint Joseph if you're looking for a good Italian items from the market this is the place and if you're looking for some good bakery goods, this is the place. read more

We have purchased your strawberry shortcake for our office parties many times and have probably bought 15 or more cakes over the past year. Until recently, we were always very happy with the quality. Unfortunately, the last two cakes we purchased were extremely disappointing. Both cakes were stale, falling apart, and tasted old. After our first bad experience, we specifically asked the attendant at the counter if the cake was fresh because we were concerned about what had happened previously. He assured us that it was fresh. In fact, I asked twice and was given the same answer both times. When we brought the second cake back to the office, it was once again stale and clearly not fresh. The previous cake was so bad that we ended up throwing it away, and now the same thing has happened again. The problem is not only the quality of the cake. What is even more frustrating is being assured that a product is fresh when it clearly is not. Had we been told the truth, we would have simply selected something else. Instead, we spent money on a product that was not fit to serve at our office event. After being a loyal customer and purchasing numerous cakes from your bakery, this experience has been extremely disappointing. The stale cakes were bad enough, but being misled about their freshness has caused us to lose confidence in your business. 3.5: While I'm not one of the many true lovers of Uncle Giuseppe's, it's not a bad spot for specialty Italian items. Walk into the store and all that can be said is "it's a lot": colorful and filled with decorations and products. The bakery, prepared foods and produce areas in particular have a good selection of items. The hot bar was a bit sparse on a Saturday afternoon but I have enjoyed their eggplant parm, meatballs and salad. I do also like the idea of their selection of homemade pasta. Their bakery has a lot of things from muffins to pies and cakes; I'm personally not the biggest fan of dry cookies and cannoli type items but they are busy for sure. They also have regular grocery store items but usually not great deals. I see this not as a regular shopping experiment but as an "every once in awhile if I want something they have" type thing. I also dread coming here because of the parking lot; a contributing factor is that when I do think of coming it's at a busy time and the lot is right off of 17N. Uncle Giuseppe's is just around the corner from my house. So when I don't want to prepare dinner or I'd like a treat, I go here. I often get prepared dishes like the teriyaki salmon or lasagna. Their salads are huge, varied, fresh and good value. Their pizza can be bought by the slice and the pizza dudes are always friendly and helpful. I was shocked one day when I realized that there was a real life Italian man with a microphone singing while we shopped! Adorable! We left here underwhelmed yesterday, after always having an excellent experience with this store. This location was always a go-to for us for special ingredients, wonderful prepared foods, and other items you don't normally see elsewhere. Store remains clean and is certainly a unique place to shop. Staff are nice enough. Today we stopped in for some prepared foods. We purchased crab stuffed flounder and fried clams. We got it home, cooked it, and were shocked that the flounder was FILLED with bones. I've never had a more poorly-prepared piece of fish. We spent dinner time spitting out bones and picking them out of the filet on our plates. For the prices we pay here, this was unacceptable. Incredibly disappointing. It's a sea of food as far as the eye can see. As you walk in the door for the first time, it may be hard to figure out where to turn as each isle provides a new adventure of offerings. If you take a left, you can head to the prepared food section that spans almost the entirety of the store. There is even a pizza corner with specialty pizzas ready hot and fresh. The prepared food counter will have you going up and down the display case finding new things you didn't know existed, like 5 different types of rice balls. There is a large seafood section, bread section, coffee section, and that is before you even get to the groceries. This market is huge, and it has everything you need. Chocolate counter as soon as you walk in, great marketing because no kids will let their parents walk by it without getting something. Located in Ramsey off of Route 17 North, Uncle Giuseppe is huge with a slight touch of Italy, featuring a deli, pizzeria, bakery, and several departments, including meat, produce, seafood, gourmet cheese, and a nice section for gluten-free. They also have a huge prepared food section for takeout, a hot bar, a gelato station, a coffee bar, and a pasta room where customers can see fresh pasta being made. The prices might not be the most affordable, but it's very clean and organized. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. But the best part is the singer who serenades you while shopping. I already loved this store, but this past Thursday, they genuinely impressed me (again). The staff here showed the kind of real, human customer service you can't fake. I had an issue with the app, and every single person I interacted with stepped in immediately... not defensively, not with attitude, just with actual care and problem-solving. The manager came over without me even asking, listened, and treated the situation like it mattered. You could tell this wasn't scripted "corporate empathy." These were people who clearly take pride in where they work and how customers are treated. Uncle Giuseppe's has always had great products, (and the food is AhhhMazing!), but today the people made it stand out even more. Ramsey is lucky to have a store with staff like this. Came in looking for dessert but ibstead of dessert we bought fresh pasta sheets to make lasagna. We never try it. When my wife got home she realized it was a lot and that. We end up making a sausage and eggplant lasagna which was amazing and a few days later we had tagliatelle with shrimp and vegetables which was also delicious! There are several big supermarkets near my house but we still make regular trips to Uncle G's, because they offer the BEST and largest variety of every category on our shopping list: gourmet coffee, cooking oil (olive and otherwise), pasta (fresh and boxed), sauces, cheeses, antipasto, etc. Their fresh produce section is gorgeously laid out, everything looks amazingly delectable, and one just wants to take it all home! I always grab their plump, juicy endives, beautifully bulbous fennel anise and fragrant, leafy basil. There is a much higher concentration and bigger selection of products imported from Italy, things that you won't find in other supermarkets. This place satisfies all kinds of needs: you can either get a cartful of ingredients to take home and cook, or get a nice meal from their hot bar, or choose lunch stuff from their deli, or just sit down to enjoy a cup of coffee and some pastries. Often live singing accompanies your browsing. Shopping at other supermarkets is a chore, whereas shopping at Uncle G's feels like a vacation - there is so much more to see, to smell, to wonder at, to read the labels of, to be inspired about what to cook ... With such a nice environment, no wonder their staff always look happy and ready to help you :-) read more

The Ramsey store seems to be going down hill. Today we had to return colossal shrimp for the seconded time in a few months. it irks me that we pay top dollar for the shrimp which should have never been sold. We brought them back after an hour after purchasing them and the customer account person agreed they smelt so vile and mentioned the fish manager was off. One of new favorite go to spots for speciality groceries! Parking here is chaotic during any holiday or the lunch rush so plan your trip accordingly. Staff here are fantastic and beyond helpful. There are so many great options here no matter what you're looking for. Homemade bread, an entire bakery, meats, pizza, sushi, cheese, desserts, and home made pastas. They also have a great options and deals during lunch time. I've gotten their salads, hot bar, sushi, pizza, you name it they have it. Came across this place via recommendation while on vacation. It reminded me of a casual Eataly but without the pretentiousness. Since it was my first time, entering the store felt overwhelming due to massive selection and mass size. Not necessarily a bad thing. It was heavily stocked with delightful products. I went with a group. We didn't know where to begin Did we want to eat first, shop first....? We decided to split up and try to meet up later to grab lunch after shopping. I noticed everywhere I looked there were so many little nonnas with shopping carts in tow. You definitely have to make way for the nonnas. You could go nuts here. There was nothing lacking in product. They had everything you could imagine and more. Whole departments. Prices were on the high end but I imagine it requires great expense to maintain such a place. It is the size of Costco but only for food. Once we paid for our groceries we grabbed 2 slices each of several pizza options ( like I stated, the choices are overwhelming) and the pizza was incredible. So delicious and finished off with pinolia cookies. I wish for future expansion of Uncle Giuseppes closer to home. They have a great niche. read more

I stopped by to indulge in some Thanksgiving fixings yesterday. I picked up turkey with gravy. Cornbread and cranberry stuffing, acorn squash, fall frittata, and butternut squash. Usually really love this place but the last couple trips there, the staff has been rude and not knowledgeable at all. Tonight we encountered ratchet Ginger at the checkout whom was so mean to my kids and us. She was upset I wanted to put back a few items I no longer wanted and that my kids threw in the cart. If you don't know about uncle Giuseppe's you clearly are missing out. This is a one stop shop for all this Italian and good eats! The options are truly endless. The deli is probably one of my favorite aspects of this place. The homemade mozzarella is made in front of you and is warm when you pick it up fresh. Don't worry this is normal and DELICIOUS! They have a large deli counter that features plenty of imported items and endless options of prepared food if you are looking for something quick. The bakery is also a great spot for cookies, cakes and homemade desserts. We have ordered cakes here for a number of occasions and it's is always fresh and flavorful. The whole store features options for everyone, from the novice cook that wants to put together a nice spread of prepared options to the advance chef that wants to design their own antipasto. This is a standard grocery store as well and carries your typical market items, milk, household products, etc. in my opinion you're not going here for this stuff. It's convenient if you're there to pick these up but it's going to cost quite a bit more than other grocery store options. Overall, would definitely recommend for some quality eats! read more
