Italian Riviera is the best Italian deli in Bergen/Passaic county. The imported meats are especially great. Their imported prosciutto and mozzarella sandwiches are crave-able, and they're big enough for two meals. Their imported prosciutto premade selections and soups are also excellent. The Riviera is often staffed with local young adults, which is also nice to see. They are a family business worth supporting. read more

Completely unimpressed. I ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich and received a single, bland cutlet that tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge--hardly fresh--and it cost $11. Amazing deli/market with varied selection of pastas, sliced meats, and cheeses, and wonderful selection of pre made sauces, soups, meals. I've driven past Italian Riviera multiple times and have seen it reccomended in my Facebook neighborhood group numerous times. While I was not hungry, I decided to go in and at least check it out. I decided to order the fresh chicken and vegetable soup from a 4-5 soup list option (truly impressing)... there is a sign on the door that says Bergen County's best soups - you be the judge! Wow! I heard so much about this place ever since I moved into town. Travel is limited right now so I can't help but be happy when I stepped in because it gave me flashbacks to the small grocery stores when I visited Italy. My favorite things that I got: Lobster Bisque soup, the RICE PUDDING (it's so light and fluffy), and these little cookies that I ended up having with my tea every day . I also got a mozzarella sandwich and a tuna sandwich for myself and my fiancé. Sandwiches were HUGE- just know that the small is already kind of big! They have a wide variety of Italian goods such as cookies, chocolate, pasta, oils, and vinegars along with prepared foods. I thought it was priced pretty fairly for what you get. They have great crusty bread, thinly sliced cold cuts, and even sausage. Great deli in Bergen County. The food here is awesome. They offer pre-portioned meals (like chicken parmigiana and mussels), homemade pasta sauces and soups, and a ton of different pastas. They have a salami and prosciutto case, which I love, Italian cheeses, including mozzarella, and awesome side salads (I'd definitely recommend the macaroni salad). I actually came here the past two Sunday's to grab subs for the football game. Last week I got roast beef with cheddar cheese on a roll, and this week a classic Italian hero. The quality of meat and cheeses were great, but the fresh homemade bread was what put these sandwiches to another level. Another nice aspect of this location is the grocery and produce products that they sell there. It's nice to be able to pick up some groceries while stopping for lunch, very convenient. All in all I was very impressed with the service and quality of food from this location and will be continuing to read more

He obviously knew everyone he helped prior to me as I heard him address all of them by name.
