Service is always quick & friendly here. The waitstaff are helpful in answering any questions about the menu items. Tacos and quesadillas are flavorful, although I had higher expectations for the fries-they are only average. The ambiance is bright, lively and clean. read more

If I could, I would go here every day but I don't live close by...however I will drive here again because it's that worth it! I got the biarra tacos and my husband got steak fajita 10 out of 10 for both!! Service was friendly and fast. Place was very clean! read more

Ordered delivery from here. Biria tacos were good. Chicken burrito looked large but was actually just filled with a lot of rice and very little protein. The burrito also lacked in flavor. read more

Ordered to go -- several types of tacos, including the birria, as well as a burrito bowl. The birria tacos were good, the other proteins were very average in terms of flavor. Portion size was fine, not generous. Overall, an unremarkable experience that I have no desire to repeat. read more

The food here is really good. Got the mushroom burrito bowl and I was not expecting it to be so flavorful. A lot Mexican restaurants can't do vegetarian dishes very well but this place does. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked, not soggy, and full of flavor. I was skeptical at first but the food is great. Will return to try more items. read more

Sombrero Tacoria Ridgewood - Mushroom Bowl - Tacos Near Me - Ridgewood, New Jersey

Yesterday, I had tried Sombrero Tacoria for the first time. I had ordered the Birria Tacos ($15.00) and a Guava Jarritos Soda (3.00). Everything turned out great - my drink was fruity and refreshing, while the Birria Tacos were very flavorful. Sombrero's give me "Tacoria" and "Chipotle" feels, with the way the make their menu items. The only complaint, if any is, 15.00 for 3 tacos (+ consumme), which means....$5.00 a taco? Again, I'm not complaining, but isn't that a little pricey for a taco...I understand it's Birria, but make 3.99? Well, above all good ambiance, service, and good. Would definitely recommend, and as you can see from the photo, those tacos were amazing! read more

Love love love! Such a good restaurant people are lovely and the chips and Guak are amazing!!!!!

I strongly recommend staying away from this awful Mexican restaurant. With so many great options in Ridgewood and the surrounding neighborhoods, there's no reason to waste your time or money here. I ordered four tacos today. Two of them had tortillas with holes, making them nearly impossible to eat. The shrimp taco had just two tiny shrimp--ridiculous. The chips were stale, and the guacamole was brown. Totally unappetizing. When I contacted the restaurant, they didn't offer a refund--just said I could come back and they'd "try again." But I had already gone home, deconstructed the tacos just to eat something, and tossed the chips and guac in the trash. That's not the kind of resolution I was looking for. Clearly, this restaurant has gone downhill. Do yourself a favor and support one of the many much better Mexican restaurants in town read more

Ok only ordered from this place for lunch so I have no idea what the restaurant looks like or how the table service is, but all I can say their online ordering service, delivery, and food, was on point! We ordered $200 worth of food for the office and thought to Do a trial run because we have two birthdays in the office next week. We figured if the food and delivery service was good, there's an expansive menu that would allow us to order again the next week. I placed the order on a Wednesday afternoon for a Thursday afternoon delivery and was praying that their online ordering system didn't crash or not take the order because it was too much money- neither happened, Thank God and delivery was ON TIME the following day! Almost all orders came according to everyone's preference, with a few random hiccups here and there, but nothing major. Everyone in the office super quiet eating the their lunch and no complaints came from the staff. I wish I had taken a picture of all the food, but we're usually really hungry and dive right in since we work through lunch. Everyone had ordered different menu items and all items were recommended- from their burritos, to the bowls, to the individual tacos, to their nacho fries- this place did not disappoint. We will definitely be ordering from here again and hope one day, we'll be able to experience this place in person! read more

Birria tacos were goodish, the Al pastor bowl was okay, meat was dry. Never ever ever get the queso from here. Yellow nacho cheese straight out of the can unseasoned. read more

Delicious Taco place !!!! I was really impressed with how they make their tacos, lots sauces, toppings in the tacos. They have a variety of types, single tacos, trios, burritos, dorados, bowls, and bunch of appetizers, desserts and drinks. Loved the way they cook the chicken and tilapia fish for the tacos. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor space is little tight. The place is mostly self service. But they do a decent job of putting out orders within a short time. Excellent spot to grab a quick bite or to try a range of tacos. Food: 4/5 Ordered a chicken bowl over lettuce, a chicken quesadilla, a carnita burrito and birria tacos for takeout. The chicken bowl (5/5) was super fresh and came with pico, beans, salsa and cream. Might be one of the better bowls I've tried. The chicken quesadilla (5/5) was bomb dot com. I seriously recommend you try their quesadillas here! It was moist and full of flavor. The carnita burrito (2.5/5) had a very strong cinnamon flavor. A bit overwhelming in my opinion. The birria tacos (3/5) were just ok. A bit too salty for my preference. Overall, a great lunch experience. I def recommend giving this place a try! Service: 4/5 Ordered online. Food was ready for pickup within the allocated time. read more

Couldn't decide on what to eat so went with my go to, tacos! I wanted to stay around the Ridgewood area so I could go to Van Dyk's homemade ice cream for dessert afterwards. Yelped for taco spots and this place came up and seemed to have good reviews and pictures so went for it. Was able to find street parking luckily. Ordered the trio tacos of Chorizo, carnita, steak and chips and guacamole. The quac and chips of really good. The tacos, surprisingly really yummy! All the tacos were good and packed with meats. My fave was the chorizo, steak and carnita are even. The tacos come with pre-packaged soft corn tacos, not a big deal for me. The only knock I have on this place: ** they only gave ONE lime slice for three tacos?? Got 9 tacos and got 3 limes altogether :( Even though they only gave one lime per taco trio, I am still giving this place 5 stars since the tacos were so good, filling and priced very well for the area. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants tacos. This will be my go to spot for tacos locally. Also Brooklyn pizza is across the street, another fave of mine. read more

This taco stand is bussin'! From food truck to brick & mortar, this fun, colorful, high quality Mexican street food joint hits the spot! The food is made fresh to order by a warm, engaging yet focused team that ensures order accuracy expeditiously with a smile. Food was delicious, flavorful and priced affordably. The Tacoria was clean and well kept. The staff though rocks it and makes the difference. There is limited seating, so keep in mind if you're larger than a party of 6, you may need to wait if eating in. It's curated fast/street food, so don't expect fancy; expect YUM! read more

The Birria tacos here are the best! The sauce they come with is my child's favorite and they are picky eaters.

Best Birria tacos. The salsa that they do for the chips and salsa also is great. This is a chain but the food is great quality vastly superior to the majority of sit down Mexican restaurants. Great selection of Jarritos. The decoration is nice. Restaurant is very clean. Friendly service. read more

Ruben the manger was very rude and obnoxious about refunding a charge for guacamole I ordered and they ran out of

Gigantic portions! Nice cute place. This burrito bowl was $15. I immediately got a stomach ache, but I think it's just that I'm sensitive to foods. The meat was really tasty, the yellow rice is good, I didn't like the tortillas that much. They give a lot of peppers and onions and toppings! Nice workers! read more

I tried their birria tacos today, and they were lacking a rich, meaty flavor. Maybe I've been spoiled by the tacos_for_life food truck or I had a bad batch? I don't know, but I didn't find the meat to be appetizing. None of the salsas stood out to me. The cheese quesadilla was average, but it was a little too burnt. Check your order before you leave! I ordered ahead on the app and my order was ready in 10 minutes. Chorizo fajitia bowl was good but missing the cheese and tomatillo salsa that was listed on the menu as being a part of the dish. Guessing as they just opened they may be working out kinks still so not holding that against them. Mexican corn and chips and guac were delicious! Friendly staff when I picked up and place was cute inside, more seating then I would have expected. read more

I am shocked this place doesn't have 5 stars. I honestly think it's the best Mexican food I've had since I moved from Cali. The best tacos! Loaded with meat and tasty! Corn tortillas keeps them authentic in flavor and the sauces are fabulous! I ordered the steak fajita bowl and it was huge! Only $15 and it came with rice, beans, tortillas and salsa. My kiddo got chicken taco trio and he loved it. My husband got the pork tacos and those were AMAZING! Cheesy fried to perfection! Highly recommend all of these dishes. The elote needed some extra lime but was good as well. Overall, great food and service! My fav new spot! read more

I try this place today for the first time and I'm glad I did. I was greet by a happy and friendly staff and they helped me to make my decision. I had the nachos and the chorizo bowl. It's a different chorizo from other Mexican places it was more like Polska sausage but at the end it was ok. The nachos don't have scallions, jalapeños, or enough pico de Gallo. The horchata drink it was really good $4 for a med size. I went on a Monday, parking wasn't a issue but on the weekends parking may be a little hard. Try this place, I'm sure you will like it, 10 times better then Tito's burritos. read more

Taco was pretty good. Birria had good flavor, but was soggy. I'm thinking they dip in the sauce after frying. It would be. I've if it wasn't soggy. Spicy sauce isn't as spicy. They already give you the soup to dip in. Very pleasant staff. read more

Pretty decent taco place. Good service, cute and welcoming interior, and of course good food. I ordered a trio but I was too hungry and ate one taco before I could take the picture. The shrimp and fish tacos were both really good. I got the hard corn shell, which I would definitely choose again. We also ordered a large chips and guacamole. The guacamole was super good, perfectly seasoned and citrusy with the chips. Just wish they gave more guacamole compared to how many chips there were. Definitely hope to come back and try their other tacos soon! read more
