    Tacos Mexicanos.

Most authentic Mexican food outside of Mexico Here's a quick video of Viviana handling a huge order. I love this place. Nachos the way I like them. Chalupas are perfect. Doesn't get any better than this. Yum.

Got takeout from here and I thought the food was decent, but not great. I got 3 tacos (steak, spicy pork, and chicken), a Cinco de mayo salad, and a camarones en salsa verde. The tacos were big, and they definitely don't skimp on the protein. You can get them with green or red sauce. Flavor wise they were good, but the steak in particular was too tough for me. They should either cut it into smaller pieces or cook it to a medium instead of well done. The salad and shrimp were quite good. I particularly liked the shrimp dish.

So there's an authentic Mexican taco joint hiding in the middle of Hillsdale, go figure. Heard about this place from a good friend. If you weren't looking for it, you'd definitely miss it. It's a lunch counter, where most of the seating is on a bar facing the cooking area. The prices are cheap, and the food is great. I had the tongue, head, pork, and chicken tacos. Very authentic, just onions, cilantro, and lime on two flour tortillas. We also tried the chicken quesadillas and a bit of the beef burritos. They were also excellent. This place is open til 10pm too, so you can get your taco fix even late.

Outstanding. Been a favorite for years. Best Mexican in the whole area. Highly recommend the enchiladas Veracruz and the chicken flautas.

Having been here in several years, food is basic fare nothing to write home about. Better choices around not coming back.

Their leadership,…read morein some indirect fashion, has led to the craftsmanship of El Azteca - A slight chain of Mexican restaurants in a 30 min radius of Bergen County. I will copy and paste this review across the Park Ridge and Mahwah locations so emphasize my appreciate for their consistency in providing great Mexican food. If you are consistently performing, Linguini will take care of you. Like I've taken care of many others. I will bring you to the top with me. If you backstab me. Oh if you come for me at the top, you will reach an abyss so deep you may end up digging to China. Don't test me. I'm not that guy. Anyways, I've tried a lot from Azteca. Most of what they've got is a 4/4.5 out of 5 but I'm rounding up for the full experience. Phenomenal price point. Variety of food that all comes out well. Performs well in restaurant and when the food travels. Friendly staff. And local business of which I support. I suffer from GGS - Good Guy Syndrome, sorry not sorry. My motha, bless her soul. I legit mean bless her soul. Be nice. Pray. Bow down to her. She doesn't eat much food but she even loved the taco salad here so much that she asked to go again. So much protein, so well seasoned. Just as their other options showcase as well. My personal favs are the Kash Burrito and the, what I'd call "trademark" Cod Burrito. Never have seen it elsewhere like this. The wrap is toasted wonderfully, great rice, great salsa. I mean this place just does it real well. I've had tacos, appetizers, desserts. Never let down. El Azteca is consistently good. Constantly pushing out quality product. Is it the best Mexican I've had? No. But it's the most underrated. Being a consistent 4, makes you a five in my books. It's like that girl that's occasionally a 6 or occasionally an 9... you can't bring her home. But that girl that's consistently a 7 or an 8? You let her meet the fam. I don't where I'm going with this one. All I'll say is STOP. Stop going to Chipotle, Bubbakoo's, etc. when you could be supporting a better quality and friendlier priced location in El Azteca. Thank you in advance. I will be watching - LB.

My friend and went there on a complete whim. It popped up when we were searching for a place to go…read more Boy, am I so glad we did!! First, the place is very clean and well kept. Decor was minimal but nice and comfortable. Had great music in the background (80's rock - yes I'm GenX). We decided to sample a few things so for appetizers we got the mini calzones (sausage and broccoli rabe) that came 3 on a plate and were about the size of a ravioli and stuffed full. Absolutely delicious. Not overwhelming in garlic taste or sausage - a perfect balance. We also got the lobster dumplings. This came in a small bowl with broccoli florets and a tasty sauce. There were 4 dumplings and again, perfect balance, did not have an overwhelming lobster smell at all and the sauce was tangy with a sweet aftertaste. We also had the ahi tuna tacos, came 2 on a plate, piled high with cabbage, a slice of avocado, tuna, and a crème sauce that left me wanting more, and 2 cucumber slices on top. Again - delicious. For dinner we split the Ahi Tuna and it came with Soba Noodles and Bok Choi in a sauce. The tuna was seared with, what tased like, crushed red pepper flakes but it only had a slight "kick" to it. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so great. We got the polenta on the side and it was perfect for offsetting the spice! Dessert matched the meal in its taste and presentation! We had the dark chocolate mousse and the napoleon. I think the best part of both was the ice cream that came with it, a perfect addition to the dessert and presented with such elegance that you almost didn't want to eat it. Our waiter was fantastic. He gave us some good suggestions that we went with and did not steer us wrong. Right now, they are BYOB. We had a great chat with the chef on our way out and he was super nice and friendly (and he beat Bobby Flay!). This is our new favorite place and can't wait to go back to try more. They have a lunch menu that is different from the dinner menu that I can't wait to try. Chef Michael says his chicken burger is the best! Gotta try it!!

And he went out of business. I knew it would happen.
