Still pumping out solid Mexican food. Just crushed chicken enchiladas, a chicken quesadilla and some Al pastor tacos. Staff is still super fast and friendly. There's a few other Mexican restaurants in town but none can hold a Candelaria to this one!

Delicious authentic Mexican food. The burritos that we got were super delicious and very big . Definitely a must try if you're around the area . Also the seating is so cute .

I will give this place 2 stars. Both stars are for the guacamole. We waited an hour to get our food. With 2 kids. It was not pleasant. No one refilled our chips or checked on us until 40 minutes into our wait when they asked if had already ordered. But. The chips stayed empty. They don't sell alcohol so unless you bring your own drinks you are just sitting there waiting and hoping for more chips. The food was not special. The meat in the tacos and burrito was not well seasoned. It tasted plain. I kept hoping the wait would be worth it or the service. It wasn't. I won't be back. I doubt they care.

This place is a hidden gem in Bergenfield. A truly authentic Mexican restaurant with Mexican cooks, waiters, and people eating and drinking Coronas at the bar. this place is BYOB. most of the time there is Mexican music playing loud over the jute box but I don't mind. This ain't no chipotles z 100 crap. I've been here over 10 times and I finally have a chance to write a review. The service is top notch so they are always on top of drinks and needs. So far these are my favorite tacos in NJ. They offer 3 tacos for 7$ and they have about 8 different meats that you can put in them. I usually get the beef and pork tacos, but I switch it up every now and then. maybe chicken, beef tongue, chorizo, or brisket if I'm in the mood. the meat is always so tender and melts in your mouth. They are small street style tacos like you would get in Mexico, they are delicious. I always get them with everything which consists of guac, onions, cilantro, and hot sauce on the side. Very tasty and 3 will def fill you up. I sometimes get the soup of the day which is usually a goat, tripe, or beef soup that's always amazing. They also have an incredible Mexican breakfast, I've gotten the rancheros webbos. if you're in the area come support an authentic mom n pop Mexican restaurant.

This is the real deal! Craving for real authentic, no frills Taco! No need to travel to Mexico, I have found a real gem in Bergen county! Well seasoned, smoked, sour and freshly made, Taco Bell is going out of business for sure!

Love this authentic Mexican restaurant. They closed for a little due to a fire, and my husband and I checked every week until they opened, and then of course made a date night to have dinner there as soon as it did. The seafood soup looks as good as it tastes, same with the seafood appetizer. I have never had a bad meal here, be it lunch, dinner, dine in or take out. The restaurant itself is spacious and byob. Service is polite and I'm always sad the meal is over when it's time to leave. Appropriate for family, date night, bigger groups and smaller groups. Affordable and delicious. All around great restaurant.

Awesome staff. The atmosphere was nice and they were very accommodating with a party of 7. The food was nice, they served chips and salsa as you wait.

Look at this flan presentation...on our table!!!! A feast for your senses.

As usual, I am loathe to write accolades about a favored restaurant because then we find we can't get in to the place anymore, but I want to see these little independent restaurants stay happy and successful and we will work around the crowds! La Candelaria is a tiny little place on the main drag in Bergenfield, Washington Street. It's right across from the Cinema, and there's parking in the back, so let's get that out of the way. (A note about the back door -- there is no sign, it looks like an apartment door, and you will only find it if you look for the exhaust hood and fan on the roof -- but hey -- there's parking, so don't complain). When you enter La Candelaria, you are struck by the cleanliness, the unbelieveable Mexican art on the tables and chairs -- truly, each item is a treasure of color and tradition. The menu is simple, it's mostly in Spanish, and the staff are not fluent in English, so bring your phone and look some items up like we do. Better still, just pick something and try it. Walk on the wild side a bit. Anything we have ordered has been fresh, beautifully prepared, and garnished with actual grilled veggies, from cactus to scallion, that you can enjoy along with the entree. Some of our favorites -- Quesidillas, specifically the Al Pastor, which is tender beef with pineapple -- Chicken Flautas, Fried Calamari, any of their Tacos, from steamed tongue to brisket -- just good, clean food. Oh, let me wax poetic about their Flan. Save room and get it. That's the poetry right there -- it's eggy, creamy, kind of like a custardy ice cream and there's nothing wrong about not sharing it with the table; let them get their own. Go. Enjoy the music, the decor, the food, and imagine yourself in a little cantina hidden away down some little sidestreet. Oh, and bring some coronas with you. BYOB.

The food was great BUT when I placed my order for pick up they quoted me with a 4% discount with the assumption that I was going to pay cash. When I went to pay with a credit card that's when I found out that I had to pay cash to get the quoted price over the phone. The girl at the cashier told me it was the law. I never heard of such a law. This is not being 100% honest. They should disclose this over the phone.

Every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday; buy one house taco and get the second one free. Between the restaurant title and this awesome deal, it's pretty obvious which route I decided to go! The gringo was the sole taco that came in a hard shell packed with beef while the yardbird was packed with hot honey fried chicken. While the chorizo had an uncanny combination of vegetables, I gave my tastebuds the benefit of the doubt and devoured this immediately. The Al pastor was piled with pineapples, which was surprisingly another great addition to this tortilla! Just when I had enough surprises, the plot thickened as I explored vegetarian tacos. Never would I ever guessed that cauliflower and bananas mix well on a soft shell! I ironically report that the taste actually surpassed the protein tacos! Taco Tuesday is a terrific time to tower through tremendous tacos! #poptaco #madisonave #tacogringo #yardbirdtaco #alpastor #chorizotacos #buffalocauliflowertaco #plantaintacos #BlackBeanTacos

Bubbakoo's Burritos 5 Washington Ave…read more Dumont, NJ 07628 Everyday Deal Salad Bowl I decided to explore a couple Mexican dishes from this casual style Mexican chain. Everyday Deal: This $9.99 special includes two tacos, chips with salsa, and a fountain drink. The tacos were adequately filled and the chips were a decent side. Unlimited beverage refills are option. Financially, this was a great deal. However, the tacos were bland and it wasn't my preferred menu choice. Also, I feel nacho cheese would have been a better dip for the nachos. Salad Bowl: This specialty menu item is a winner. As you walk down the line, you get to choose a lettuce, protein and sides (most are included, but some will require an up charge). Feel free to select multiple sauces such as sour cream, salsa, and specialty sauce. I always prefer to serve the sauce on the side, but feel free to have the dressings poured on top of the salad. In lieu of croutons, the plate is served in an edible bowl. Expect a crunch in every bite! The service is fast and there are a few tables for indoor dining. One of the minor issues is that there aren't any plastic spoons available. When I return, I'm definitely planning to explore more of the specialty items. Although they are costlier than the everyday deal, they offer a lot more in terms of quality and taste. #bubbakoos #bubbakoosdumont #saladbowl #everydaydeal
