A coffee machine and a man minding his business and eating the food.

One star because I can't give y'all a 0 star let me start with your service u didn't give me my damn Pupusas while my whole family was eating I was stuck there starving and had to eat from one of my family members plate. When I ordered my Pupusas again I only got 1. I payed for 2 and got one. The flavor makes up for it but I still payed for 2. Y'all took so long trying to make my order and still couldn't even get it right. And I can't go back and complain because I am not a native from New Jersey. One star because you guys suck and there's no reason I should've waited that long for one damn Pupusa. Oh and it felt sad and dingy in there. The place is okay with decent seating and guests who mind their business but I'm angry about my pupusa/pupusas.

I found it odd that the restaurant was located on 94th Street, given its name, but that was irrelevant. Its reviews were excellent, and the food looked great in the Yelp photos, so we decided to give it a shot. I ordered a Grilled Chicken Burrito Bowl, which was supposed to be served in a fried flour tortilla that had been shaped into a bowl, but I, instead, opted for the ingredients to be placed in a container without the crispy vehicle. The platter included diced chicken, orange Mexican rice, black beans, lettuce, corn, pico de gallo, and guacamole. The chicken was well-seasoned and tender, the rice was fluffy, and the beans were very flavorful. The rest of the ingredients were fresh, and everything blended well together. I was allowed to select one of four sauces, though there were no descriptions to help distinguish their differences. I just selected the Red Smoky Salsa, which turned out to have a medium heat level and added notes of chipotle; I thought it was perfect. I had also asked for no queso fresco, and the crema on the side, though I wound up not using it. Overall, I was very impressed with my dish, and my friend enjoyed her Skirt Steak Burrito as well. Taqueria 86 delivered (pun intended) on flavor and quality. Next time I hope to visit the restaurant in-person to enjoy their cocktails and what looks like a fun atmosphere.

Got the Guacamole & Chips ($16), Puebla ($11.95) for 2, and Mushroom Tacos ($11.85) which were the best on our table. I wish they'd let you mix and match but the condition is to get two of each kind! Noise levels were on the lower end, and service was kick. Food arrived within 15-mins of ordering. Highly recommend this place for their tacos!

Little did we know that it was business on the main floor and a party on the bottom! We ended up skipping the coffee and just had food. This is a Mexican spot with some Colombian themed dishes on the brunch/lunch menu. The breakfast burrito was recommended by our server (as a popular dish) as well as the huevos rancheros. I love biscuits so was swayed in a different direction... an egg and cheese sandwich on a house made jalapeño biscuit. The biscuit sandwich was filling, although a bit too dry for my taste. The addition of the jalapeño did give the biscuit a good kick. The potatoes were nicely seasoned. My friend gushed about her huevos rancheros. It did look good, and I would likely skip the biscuit sandwich and go for the huevos rancheros or tacos next time. The service was super sweet and attentive. We truly didn't realize there was another floor until we finished our meal in the enclosed heated space up front, and the server encouraged us to check it out. It's a cool set up with a distinct feel from the main floor. All in all I would check this place out again.

I called their UWS Amsterdam location to inquire if their suizes same as UES, answered yes, so up I went. unsmiling waitress behind the bar for some reason had an "attitude", odd because I was the only person in the restaurant. ordered the suizes with chicken, and decided to also order the guacamole & chips, just to compare v. other Mexican places. Well, upon tasting the suizes, a C- at best. the guac also "average", not worth a detour. adding" insult to injury", asked for small container of salsa verde, which she provided. but, as leaving, also asked for small container of salsa roja to which I also like to compare v.other salsas I've had. I was told it would be extra, and that she had thrown in the salsa verde "gratis" - 2oz "gratis" - give me a break??? I have been to many Mexican restaurants, I have NEVER been denied either when ask, always been accommodated - simply good customer relations and KIM: we're talking about 2oz, nothing more. I just don't get it. So, a waitress makes a decision to tell a potential customer, she would not throw in 2oz of salsa Rojas - totally alienating. Obviously will never return - just moronic! I'm not telling anyone not to go, but why would u?
