Ok so I guess this place wasn't as good as we had expected, based on the hype of the reviews BUT it wasn't bad either, worth the try. We did enjoy their chicken tacos and Mexican Chicken Quesadilla over the Carne Asada tacos, which was to a surprise! The carne Asada tacos lacked some flavor, like they didn't have the 'ting' you expect from an authentic taco... I did also feel the Mexican chicken quesadilla, which are 3 big like tacos with queso blanco and cheese made with corn tortillas, also lacked something, the green sauce provided def helped it get a quick kick. Also the horchata was not good, good flavor but too watery, not the typical consistency, but maybe just how they prefer it, to each their own. This is far from authentic Mexican food. It's an Americanized version of Mexican food. The seasoning is way off and presentation is just not there. Service is adequate meaning: attentive, polite and friendly. Ambiance is where they poured on the authenticity but that won't satisfy my appetite for "Authentic Mexican" food. Came to Taco Intenso finally after wanting to try it for a while now and always dining nearby. It's a small, casual restaurant with about 6-8 tables depending on how many people are already dining there and how many are in your party. Upon arriving we sat anywhere we liked and were served basic chips and salsa. I ordered the 3 birria tacos which were so delicious! The only thing that I didn't like was the fatty meat I took out. I also got the large horchata drink but beware as the large is 32 oz for $7 (it's not listed on the menu as an option for small or large but I love horchata so I decided to get the large). My boys got the chicken burritos which were large, generous portions, and they seemed to enjoy them! Service was quick and the waitress was nice and attentive. I would definitely come back again to try some other menu items. Parking was a bit tricky around lunchtime in a Sunday but knowing the area and dining around here I know parking usually isn't too bad before 4pm, can't speak on after that. read more

Yep! We found it! Our go to Mexican restaurant! We do not live in the area but we will travel to come here. It's a beautiful environment, very kind staff, and very clean. The food? DELICIOUS. I ordered the al pastor tacos and chicken tacos. The flavor in each bite packed with seasoning. I am not much of a meat person but the al pastor with the pineapple was sweet and savory (loved this). I had an option between a flour tortilla but I always opt for corn. One thing I would change is I would definitely ask for two tortillas per taco instead of one. I had ordered extra radishes for my tacos because I love radishes with my tacos. We also ordered the Mexican chicken dish that came with rice and black beans. It also came with a side of corn tortillas. My guy absolutely loved this. He loves peppers! It was packed with red and green peppers. The salsa here is divine! It's different than any Mexican restaurant I have been to. All of the sauces were tasty. Horchata was refreshing and they have several aquas on the menu to choose from. They do not offer outdoor seating during the winter months right now due to no heaters. However, it's so clean and the staff made sure we were more than 6 feet apart. It's a smaller restaurant with about 4-5 tables and we felt very safe. I also loved how nicely they decorated. We did get a ticket for the meter (we thought it was after 7pm no meter coming from NYC but we were wrong so if you aren't familiar, pay the meter) we were just so excited to have our tacos. I was looking for a nearby taco joint by edgewater and found taco Intenso, a fairly new place with 1 review. My girlfriend liked the name so we decided to give it a try and we did not regret it at all. They seated us behind their store where they had a small outdoor dining area. The food and service was amazing. Everyone was very friendly and kind. We ordered the taco Intenso and vegetable burrito. I got 4 burritos - 2 al pastors and 2 cecina. I love tacos in general and this one was different. They added bean paste which added a new taste that I never had before (the lady said that's why it's "Intenso.") Love this place! I was in the area for work and saw the really good reviews so I stopped by to eat in around lunch time. There was only one other table occupied so the food came out within 5 mins of ordering. I got the chicken tacos topped with onion and cilantro and they were fantastic! The portion was good at 4 tacos per order for $11ish. I also loved the tortillas. They were corn but had a texture that reminded me of flour tortillas in that they were soft, smooth and didn't fall apart. Don't know how else to describe it. There were multiple sauces to choose from, the green and orange ones are slightly spicy but both very flavorful. Those plus the tasty chicken and some squeezes lime were chef's kiss.
