The yuca fries were crunchy and came with a tasty sauce. The sauces they gave us from spicy to smoky to creamy were all great. The machin - bone marrow taco was AMAZING. The takes juan to know juan was also really delicious, especially the sauce to pair it with. Lastly, the esquites with the barbecue pork nachos were a cherry on top. Would love to try this place in person one of these days.

We ordered: Borracho Tacos (fish) $22 Esquites Gratinee (corn) $10 Truffle Ribeye Burrito $27 Black Chili Crunch Guacamole $14 The borracho tacos aka fish tacos were very small and disappointing. They are very overpriced for what we received. One small piece of fish per little taco shell. Flavor was ok. Are they worth $22? Absolutely not. We will not be reordering these. The Esquites Gratinee corn side dish was bigger than the guacamole portion and flavorful per my boyfriend. I don't eat corn so I didn't have any. My boyfriend really liked it. Said it's unique and 10/10. He would get this again. The truffle ribeye burrito is delicious. Though I didn't get any truffle flavor? If it was there, it's minimal. I didn't taste it at all. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and it's a good portion of meat. Tender and flavorful. No chewiness. Sauce on top is amazing. Rice and beans cooked perfect. Would order this again. It's worth it. Even without truffle flavor. Great portion size too. The black chili crunch guacamole is the star of the show. While it's a small portion, it's very flavorful. Love the garlic. Love the crunch. Fresh avocados. This is worth it. We would definitely order it again. Highly recommend the guac. Small but mighty haha.

Since my previous mediocre review in 2007, I had been to East LA one other time, in addition to my…read morerecent visit. That occasion had been a few years ago and had involved an insanely strong margarita, an experience that I would not want to relive. However, my friend suggested grabbing dinner there recently, and since it was a nice evening and their outdoor dining was right on the main thoroughfare of Washington Street, I agreed to at least go to enjoy their excellent people watching. I certainly vowed to skip the cocktails, but was willing to give their food another chance. We started with crisp, lightly-salty tortilla chips and a rich, bold salsa. I then ordered Vegetable Fajitas, which included green and red bell peppers, zucchini, and onions. The peppers had been sliced so thin that they were barely noticeable and made hardly any flavor impact. The sizzling platter was also about 85% onions, of which I was not a fan, so I sent back most of them in the end. The whole thing was also rather greasy. The flour tortillas were delicious and not artificial tasting like most. The DIY platter was also served with a side plate of refreshing sour cream, well-seasoned guacamole, sliced jalapenos, and fresh pico de gallo. I wished the portions of these condiments were larger, though, and the guacamole, in particular. The staff was so friendly, allowing us to linger at the table after we paid and even refilling our water during that time. They all provided service with a smile, which also helped ease any frustration a diner might have about the fact that they apply an automatic tip of 20% to the check for any party size. While I still had a decent experience at East LA, it was much better than I had remembered, and I would be willing to return.

Being honest, the food here is about three-star-worthy…read more But the prices. The prices are from 2010, and as long as Chango keeps its menu at those prices, I'm going to keep loving them. Christ on a chopstick, I haven't seen an $8 sandwich since I was in grad school (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth)! We started with the Tamal Cubano, which was fantastically delicious, though the accompanying sauce wasn't hot at all. A shame, because it was well-flavored--just needed a lot more capsaicin. My Cubano was very well done, but barely had any pickle in it, which made me sad. I opted to add fries and wasn't sad about the small, thin ones I got (very McDonald's-shaped). However, the Pechuga de Pollo Adobada con Escabeche de Calabaza was a disappointment. The grilled chicken was drastically overcooked, probably because they used really lean breast meat. The accompanying Caribbean pumpkin was interesting, but too small. The other side of rice and beans was perfect, though--great bean texture and lots of savory flavor. With tax and tip included, our meal came out to $33. $33! You can't even get lunch for one person for that price at 90% of Manhattan restaurants south of Central Park. I could've cried with wonder at the bill. Time travel is real guys--at least financially. Just hop into El DeLorean and come to Chango.

We got tres leches for dessert and unfortunately it was still frozen and did not taste good. We let the waiter know and he quickly resolved. Recommend if you're looking for a cheap and quick lunch/dinner.

We started with Guacamole and Chips (generous guac portion) and Lomo Fries with steak. Both were true crowd pleasers. We shared a bunch of entrees. The stars of the show were the Peruvian Chicken and the Churrasco. We ordered two of each and they were both *devoured*. On the other hand, the ribeye seemed a bit underdone--more cool red than warm pink. But the meat quality was great and it also got eaten up quickly. The desserts were also great. We split one of each, and they were all so good. The churros in particular will live rent free in my mind for a long, long time.

We started with the nachos, which were amazing. We got them with chicken, which was cooked wonderfully. I would consider ordering this as my main next time. Between the three of us, we ordered a steak quesadilla, the steak and tacos vampirico, which were made with short rib. Everything was great. Very attentive service, which was comforting since we had a guest with a food allergy in our party. However towards the end of the service felt almost a little too attentive. We were being waited on by several employees, so we felt a little rushed to leave. We got a little peek into the private event space, too. It looks absolutely beautiful filled with floral features, I woukd absolutely consider for a larger gathering!
