Hoboken Burrito - mott burrito - Mexican Near Me - Hoboken, New Jersey

Don't let this 3 star review turn you away! Hoboken Burrito serves giant portions with fresh ingredients and a smile. The outside has always made me walk past, but I finally decided to try it tonight as I've gotten sick of Chipotle. Plus it's always a good feeling to support our local businesses. While I wouldn't call this spot a "hidden gem" of Hoboken by any stretch, I did thoroughly enjoy my burrito. I got a regular grilled chicken burrito and everything that came with it. Upon my first bite it was apparent that the chicken was more like hibachi chicken than grilled chicken (not a complaint but not what was advertised). If you try it you'll know exactly what I mean. No complaints about anything else. They could have made more of an effort in evenly distributing the contents of the burrito but thats just me being picky. If it means anything to whoever may be reading this...the burrito felt like it weighed 5 pounds and I found myself eating the entire thing. So why 3/5 stars? This burrito cost me $16! While the ingredients were fresh and the portion was huge, it's hard to justify one burrito at almost 20 bucks. Complain about Chipotle's portions all u want, but my bowl there only costs me like $12. I'd definitely go back again at some point, but it just didn't taste good ENOUGH to justify the price tag. Tacoria has a better burrito (imo) and is a few bucks cheaper. Still, worth a try for sure. read more

Hoboken Burrito 209 4th. St. Hoboken, NJ 07030 Grilled Chicken Burrito There is no menu posted, so make sure you have your phone handy to scan the QR menu. The burrito was heavily packed. It was loaded with protein and sides, but they were not distributed evenly. One half had too much rice while the other portion had all the chicken. The salsa did help enhance the flavor, but it honestly wasn't my favorite burrito. #hobokenburrito #GrilledChickenBurrito #hobokennj #hoboken #franksinatrastown read more

I used to rave about this place. I would order by phone and pay cash. Now I cannot order by phone and cash is not an option. I phoned the place but it's automated and you cannot speak with a human. I admit it's been a while since I ordered and I used to prefer the delivery to pick up. The guy who delivered knew I tipped well and would usually get my food within 10 minutes piping hot. Now I have no idea, I have no Mexican food, but I still have my cash. Disappointed with $25 in my wallet. read more

I have been a customer of this place ever since it opened and was called "Mission Burrito." And, I live in HOBOKEN. While the food has remained good, I have noticed some not-great things lately: (1) Can no longer place TELEPHONE orders!! If you call, you get a robo person who sends you round and round...and you never get to talk to a human; (2) the actual DELIVERY TIME when using the restaurant's on-line app--or via your desktop is VERY VERY VERY SLOW!! I ordered my food at 6:30...and now it is 8 p.m. and still have not received the food, a message, or anything. I HATE being forced to order on line--TERRIBLE service in this regard. I could be poisoned by chicken if it is sitting out..(3) the prices have SHOT WAY up--faster than inflation The tiny single taco used to be $3...Now it is almost 6 dollar with tax. The delivery guys, when they DO show up, a super nice. I always tip them well... HATE the on-line ordering--being forced into it. Makes me wonder if the restaurant has changed owners or managers... read more

We have a few hidden gems in town. This is one of them. They serve authentic Cal-Mex and Tex-Mex. Delivery is quick, too.

I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday after hitting up a Bark In The Park at the park nearby. For $15, I got a burrito the size of a big infant and a small burrito bowl both accompanied with a soda for the lunch deal special. The place is super bare bones and it seems that this is an Asian owned place, yet the food wasn't horrible. They were cooking up that steak right there and then for the burrito which is always a good thing. The Cali bowl was small, smothered and cheese and the $2 I added for guac was pointless. The guac was about the size of a tablespoon. It could have used a gallon of hot sauce. My sentiments were echoed by Sheila A with her burrito, but I mean that burrito was 3 meals easily. Nothing to write home about, but the food wasn't bad necessarily, it just needed a truck load of delicious hot sauce. Overall, I wouldn't run to Hoboken burrito, but if you're in the mood for a coma inducing burrito where you douse every bite with hot sauce to bring out the flavor (which hey, sometimes in my heyday I used to be open to), this is the place. The burritos are a bit pricy when not on the lunch special, but again, the amount of food they give you is crazy. read more

This is my go to place for burritos in Hoboken. My favorite burrito from them is their Chicken Mole burrito. It's good and always has more than enough mole sauce. The rice, beans, and small salad completes the meal. Also comes with homemade pico de gallo on the side. Never disappoints. read more

So good!! I think the best burrito I've ever had. I ordered through yelp which i never had before. And it said it would take an hour. I left to go get it 30 min after ordering and it was ready. Which help would've told me that! But it was so delicious. read more

Best little hole in the wall for burritos in New Jersey! I absolutely love the mole burrito. It's spicy yet sweet. To top it off, they also serve you rice and a salad on the side! Sooo delicious. It's not the biggest restaurant so expect to take this to go (if you have a big group). You can always eat it across the street at the park. Although it seems like people usually call for delivery because when I went it was empty. read more

I enjoy this place. The burritos hit the spot and I don't feel gross afterwards. (No bloating or anything like that) Decent Mexican food for those times you're just in the mood... as simple as that. Salsa is also delicious. I forgot about this place but it's definitely back on my radar! read more

Always fresh and tasty! Lots of simple and traditional preparation with fresh ingredients. Everything is homemade and delivery is reasonably quick. For Mexican this has become our go to place. I really wanted to give this place 4.5 stars because they are a little stingy on Guacamole when you order it. Otherwise- its great. read more

The food is Good but the service Stinks! The lady that answered the phone was Very Unprofessional, Rude and had no Knowledge of the Menu Options! When I begin to ask her questions, she rushed me off the phone stating, " I have other customers to attend to!" To add more Insult she hang up on me, and when I called back she refused to answer the phone read more

Got the Bay Burrito and it was a solid burrito with a generous portion of ground beef although I wish there had been more sour cream and guacamole. read more

Great food really authentic and fresh. Takeout is really a breeze. I come here often. A very cute locally owned restaurant I will love supporting in the future thanks for everything read more

Good, cheap takeout kitchen on the park. Get your lunch and eat it in the park. Great way to spend the afternoon. The tacos are good and they have some spicy bite to them, so my 10 year old didn't care for them. I liked them. My husband had a steak burrito and was satisfied with the portion size. It's a cheap lunch for Hoboken and definitely not bad. read more

This place has a lot of good ratings on seamless. You definitely get a large portion of food for the money. Their guac is phenomenal! The tacos come on hard shells which is kind of weird to me. Overall a decent experience read more

Decent spot if you want a large quantity of average Mexican food for a low price. Ended up here because all the other Mexican places had an hour wait and I wasn't feeling Qdoba of Chipotle. I got the combo platter and got an enchilada, taco, and burrito, along with rice and beans. They were all pretty meh. About as good as I'd expect from Qdoba, but it was really cheap for the amount of food I got. It looks to be more of a takeout joint too, but it does have outdoor seating and Mexican sodas. read more

Hoboken Burrito used to be my number 1 go to for delivery, in the past 2 months the order is wrong. Last night I swore I was specific enough with my order just to have it delivered with cilantro (not just a little bit) handfuls as if it was lettuce.. really been such a let down. I hope things improve! 5/5 stars until recently read more

I ordered a chicken burrito and steak fajita here. I actually really liked them. It was good amount of beans, veggies, and steak they gave me for fajita and their seasoning was right on. I just wanted a quick dinner and it was perfect. Their portion size is pretty big but you might end up eating more than you wanted! read more

After receiving a personal message from the owner, I regret to inform him and the establishment that my review will not be altered in any way. Reasons for this rating aside from the lack of assumed toppings (lettuce, olives, sour cream, salsa, etc) are due to the quality of the meal. I ordered nachos-a simple meal, and was provided with nacho chips, low grade rubber chicken, and cheese.. tell me, who makes a nacho meal like this? read more

10x better than chipotle, Qdoba or Tacoria. Good price great servings. Friendly people and very clean.

It's 8pm. Did I eat today? If the answer is no, Hoboken Burrito is a viable option. The other night I ordered a shrimp burrito. It's pretty pricey at $11 but holy cannoli, that thing was HUGE! Definitely 3 meals worth and there's rice and beans on the side as well. It's good for fast food Mexican. Not totally amazing but being rather picky about this category of cuisine, I was satisfied. It would just be nice if there were smaller portion options for the days I actually eat more than one meal. *Tip: If you expect guacamole to be distributed over the entire thing, definitely ask for extra. read more

Food is DELISH. Not a fancy place to say the least, but the chow is cheap and yummy. They have whole wheat tortillas and burrito wraps which makes things a little healthier (still trying to wear them down to offer brown rice). They are fast, efficient and authentic. Best burritos in Hoboken in my opinion. My baby inhales their black beans and my hubby loves the steak fajitas.. I WISH they would clean the place a bit more but they are too busy cooking Hoboken's yummiest Mexican food.. Fast, Cheap, Tasty. LOVE it. read more

Gave it a try, and it served its purpose at the time. I ordered the steak burrito, and was happy that the pieces of steak were cooked to order. It only took a few minutes to make my burrito, which was a decent size. But it was really nothing special, very plain and not much flavor. The sides that it came with were pretty uneventful too. I wouldn't exactly call it "Mexican" food, though the fact that they have bottles of Jarritos soda in the fridge was a nice touch. The place is tiny inside, and there are a few small tables outside but that's about it. Luckily, they are across from the park so you can just go eat over there. It was relatively inexpensive, and the food was so-so. There better options in town, even in this price range. read more

Burrito was very average. One star because they put a chicken bone in my burrito. Nearly choked. Wings are meant to have bones in them not burritos! Dangerous ! read more

I was really craving fish tacos - I decided to give it a shot. $10 for two fairly large fish tacos. The place looks run down, definitely not a place I was going to sit down to eat.. but I gave them a chance. You never know!! When I walked in, the man behind the counter was watching TV slouched over. I wasn't greeted.. Very uninviting. Regardless... I ordered my fish tacos. I asked how the fish was cooked and the guy gave me a look as if he couldn't understand why on earth I would ask that question. The conversation went like this:: Hi How is the fish cooked? What? The fish.. How is it cooked? It's cooked.. what do you mean? HOW IS THE FISH COOKED? Is it baked? Fried? Sautéed? He turned to the woman behind that was cooking and said it was fried. Which is fine... but Honestly I wasn't down for fried fish. I ate it. It was nothing special. Definitely wont be returning. read more

Hoboken burrito makes a solid, huge, tasty and inexpensive burrito. The ingredients are fresh. I prefer the shredded chicken to the beef. The service is kind, the place is clean, and it is around the corner and on the park...makes for a nice lunch when the weather is warm. read more

Can't go wrong with a cheap quick meal! Fast service!! I wish they were open on Tuesdays for taco Tuesday lol!

If you like your meat burrito to be made out of just rice, your search is over my friend! First time this happened I thought it was fluke. Second time it happened, a sad coincidence. The third time...? Who are you trying to kid? I gave it two stars because the rice is actually not bad, lol. (In Question: Chili "Beef" Burrito) read more

This place is great, people who complain about it don't know Mexican food and are hoboken yuppies. This is the most legit spot in town for tacos hands down. read more

Steak tacos/burritos are very good. They marinate the steak in a really good mix. Asian run mexican restaurant which sounds like an oxymoron but food was good. Just saying i wouldn't go to an Italian restaurant that didnt have an Italian feel/scene. This place didnt feel "Mexican". More expensive than Qdoba/Chipotle. Around same price point as Charrito's but prefer the whole experience of Charrito's versus HoBurrito which appears standing room only for pickup/delivery. read more

I love Hoboken burrito and I've been ordering from them regularly for about 3 years. I have only tried a few things on the menu but I will say that you can't go wrong with the Bay burrito, the Cali chili bowl, and the Verde Enchilada. The staff is friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the delivery is quick. I ordered from them this week around 5 p.m. and it was delivered in 18 minutes! I think this is one of the best values in Hoboken and the food tastes very fresh. Two people can have a delicious meal with generous portions for around $20 plus tip. read more

Great burritos and their salsa is legit - super spicy. Love the side of beans, rice and salad. Cheap, easy, delicious Mexican delivery!

Yummy good food fast n clean! Will go again n again amazing food. Got burrito my family also enjoyed

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Never again. Food from here, on a good day, is okay. Delivery is unreliable (I speak only from my own experience, and have had more than one bad experience). Tonight I finally just canceled my order and called a Chinese place. read more

Got the Mole Burrito and chili beef burrito!! Great portion and cozy environment!! Def worth the money.

Totally underrated in the large Hoboken Mexican food pantheon. Quick, reasonably priced and delicious. Large portions! Usually have some left over for tomorrow's lunch. Just tried the Mole burrito, yum! Nice vegetarian selection. Try the spinach and goat cheese burrito. read more

Yummy, authentic mexican food with great portions. They quoted me 30 minutes for delivery and were here within 20. My food is hot and exactly hitting the spot! And they know how to do nachos right... cheese and all the other goodies in layers instead of just thrown on top so that by the time you get to the bottom there's a hidden jackpot of dipping deliciousness!
