We ordered delivery from Flaming Burritos last night and we are impressed! Delivery was not bad but the food was barely warm when it arrived - prob due to distance. Not the restaurants fault. We ordered the Tacos Gobernador, ground beef (Picadillo) Burrito, the guacamole and chips, and the Cinnamon Honey Sopapillas. The burrito was delicious!! Excellent portion size for the price. We added bacon which gave it a really nice smokey flavor. No rice and no beans as requested. Wish there was more cheese! But it was good. We would order it again. It's a 9/10. The tacos are a 6/10. We orders them with the pork. Soft blue corn shell. Small amount of meat and onion with cilantro. Cilantro and onion fresh. Meat had good flavor. This dish is overpriced in our opinion. We would not get them again. The guacamole was fresh and delicious. We say 8/10. Wish it had jalapeños but I know they aren't for everyone and more cilantro! Otherwise, it's perfect. Chips are what you would expect. Crispy and not stale haha. We would get the guac again. The cinnamon honey sopapillas were good. Right amount of cinnamon and honey adds sweetness. I have been in great need of Mexican food as I have moved from LA. Everything has been a very low miss so far, but Flaming Burritos got the key points down. The meat was flawless. Al Pastor amazing quality. The radish, lime, cilantro and onion, were all fresh fresh! Rice was ok. The salsas need some work. I really enjoyed the guajillo chilis but it was masked with a canned tomato taste. For the sauce I'm not sure which one that was but it was light red. Went here on a Friday night for dinner and was seated immediately. The service was quick as they have an individual bar section closer to the seats and since this place is pretty small, they atended to us quickly. The tacos were really good and prepared well, no complaints with the portions or anything - i think this is one of the better places in the area at the right price, even drinks were well priced. The decor in the restaurant was cool too, having traditional Mexican atmosphere and unique flaming burrito pieces. Will be going back and do recommend if looking for tacos in the area!!! read more

Great spot consistent food need to add queso to their menu but have a good margarita. Price is six dollars and five dollar Kronos :-) service is hit or miss. They have some great new servers but in the past it was not the best . I have been ordering food from Flaming Burritos for the past 15 years+ when I lived in the area. When I moved, I used to travel back just to eat it. I was in the area recently and realized how close it was to where I was at and IMMEDIATELY ordered my usual. I get a shrimp quesadilla with this garlic sauce situation that is DIVINE, a Mexican rice and their chips and salsa. Today I only ordered 1 pack of chips but, usually I get 2 and tomorrow I'm going back for my 2nd bag before I leave. They have some of the BEST salsa I've tasted ever! Not too chunky, not too watery, just the right amount of spice. And the portions are healthy enough that I usually don't finish the entire thing in one sitting but the way it tastes, I sure could!! I don't know if I've ever eaten inside but there's a cute, quaint ambiance. Definitely cute for a Summer vibe (I think they have seating outside when it's warm.) The customer service is always top notch - super friendly and willing to accommodate! Prices are good for the amount and TASTE of the food! Please don't change that, please! It makes your food more valuable and desirable! Parking can be tricky but it's on the corner so, you'll figure it out! Lowkey I don't even want to tell people about this place and gate-keep it all to myself but, you all deserve your flowers! If I ask my fiance what he wants to order for dinner, his answer will always be, "a burrito". And with a name like 'Flaming Burritos', it was bound to catch his eye on the delivery apps. So we ordered an early dinner one Monday evening. We ordered the Al Pastor burrito (stuffed with black beans, Mexican rice, Monterrey Jack cheese wrapped in a 12" tortilla. Served with sour cream and homemade flaming salsa) and the Super Quesadilla (melted Monterey jack cheese, pico de gallo, Spanish rice and fresh guacamole inside and sour cream on the side) and added chorizo. Both were great and super filling. I was actually starting to get a little full after the first half of the quesadilla but since I'm not a quitter, I decided to finish the other half. The food is tasty and feels homemade which I personally love. The Baja fish tacos don't disappoint, they are delicious, I love the grilled chicken enchiladas with the red sauce usually is my to go dish. My husband likes the birria tacos which are awesome too. Update review: rating upwardly revised to around 4.5/5 stars. (5 is for my absolute favorite, this score is supposed to mean really good too) Much much better than what I remember. It just seems like they do things more correctly now, with more passion. This time, I can only speak to the "street tacos" which were good enough that I, a local, would consider coming back here more often, especially when I feel like getting a taco fix without venturing too far. Definitely recommend chorizo tacos. And as far as taco joints in the area, it's among the nicest ambience you can get, at very reasonable prices. The food was good... However, they've implemented a 4% credit card surcharge. It is 1) way above the terminal fees for the use of Visa / MC and 2) ridiculous that the owner is trying to pass this high costs to the clientele... It's no reason the place was empty! I dragged my favorite vegan out here for dinner on a Tuesday. Parking in the area is INSANE. It was almost an hour before I found a spot which is ridiculous. We came here specifically because they serve vegan chorizo, as well as seasoned tofu as protein options. For appetizer, we got an order of jalapeno poppers. They were super hot, and squirted out mad cheese when we bit into em. Our food came next. I got a super quesadilla with tofu and vegan cheese. She got a wet burrito with vegan chorizo. The portion sizes are enormous, and the prices are very low. The food was very good, and we had plenty to take home. If you're looking for a no frills Mexican place then this is your spot. They don't have any fancy dishes, just simple, good portion food. I usually go for the burrito and never really am disappointed with it. They put a good amount of beans, meat and rice in it. If you want more added like guacamole, jalapeño, etc. you can but they will charge you extra for it. So that's kinda the only down side as they do charge extra for everything you add. They have a liquor license so margarita's and beers are available for I believe 5$ each. A good amount of tables are available inside to dine in and never had to wait for a table. I believe they have a lot of take out going on instead of people dining in. I would definitely recommend this place if you're just looking for a nice filling Mexican plate. read more

A great choice for some delicious Mexican food in the area. I was quite appreciative that they're still open for business during this time even as quite many of the local restaurants have closed up doors. At first I thought the prices were bit high but after trying out their burrito and tacos I think its definitely well worth a try if you're a fan of Mexican food. I didn't like their chicken mole that much however but especially the shrimp burritos is quite a delicious treat. Pick-up was super simple and easy and definitely under Seamless' time of estimate. Hopefully once we're able to go back out to dine at restaurants I'd like to try Flaming Burritos dining in. read more

Prices are great! Food tasted amazing and very much kid friendly! The ambiance was great very cozy perfect night for guac chips and a margarita! They have outdoor seating as well it's not much of a view but there's not much traffic so it's nice to sit outside. Service was great and very accommodating. Will definitely visit often. I love most of their food - burritos, tacos and platters. I usually get the al pastor, carne asada tacos or jerk chicken burrito and those are really good. Not a big fan of their mole chicken though. Dining in gives you a greater experience with fresh salads and unlimited sauces. I wish they'd give larger sauce portions for takeout. Service is always quick and friendly. read more

Absolutely love this place. Everything I have tried is wonderful. I order take out and dining in, either way five stars!!! The decor is lovely. I enjoy eating outside, but when the weather does not permit it, the indoor area is also lovely. The service is prompt and always very pleasant. The food is delicious and the helpings are large. Days later, he's still raving about how they're some of the best he's had. While I'd definitely order for delivery again, I'd pick something different than my chicken flautas, which came three to an order & topped with generous amounts of guac, sour cream, & pico de gallo. The chicken inside was nicely fried, but there were several pieces of fat throughout. Perhaps because we were ordering late-night, the rice wasn't as fluffy (or flavorful, for that matter) as I would've liked. Total was around $22. I'd like to start by saying the customer service here is awesome. The gentleman that picked up the phone was super down to Earth and cool! It made me happy to give them my business! I had the grilled steak burrito. It was a good sized burrito, but I was expecting it to be bigger for the price. Also, it came with these really good chips, but there was only 3 lol. I ordered through Caviar for delivery: a mixed order of street style tacos (2 al pastor, 2 shrimp), steak chimichanga, lemonade & mundet sidral (apple soda). A few minutes after I placed the order I got a call from them saying they don't do mixed orders of tacos anymore (umm, so why do you continue to have that option on the app & charge more for it?) so they would just send me all 4 tacos as shrimp. Very disappointing but ok. So when the order arrives I open the bag and they didn't even pack the the lemonade separately or wrap it or anything! Instead it was laying on its side and almost all of it had leaked out of the cup to everything else in the bag!!! So not only was there no lemonade to drink but it had gotten into the (not properly sealed) container of shrimp tacos--so the tortillas were soaked and disintegrated as soon as I touched them. I dug out the shrimp from that soggy mess & tried to eat it but basically it was lemonade flavored shrimp at that point and also covered in cilantro which I had SPECIFICALLY asked them to not put on it since I hate cilantro. Didn't seem like there would be any flavor to the shrimp anyway since there was nothing else on the tacos--no cheese or guac or anything (even though it said that it was supposed to come with guac on the side) just (disintegrated) tortillas & plain shrimp & radishes. Swimming in lemonade as you can see from the pics. A good amount of shrimp but basically a waste. The steak chimichanga was disappointing too--arrived totally cold & the meat was dry. There was a little bit of sour cream spread on top, not really any cotija cheese. Rice was meh. The plain black beans were the best tasting thing I ate from here. read more

I love this place. I've eaten here several times and I have also ordered out as well. The food is ALWAYS delicious and filling. I can never finish a full plate, and I love that about them. I am now a vegetarian, but I wasn't when I first started eating here, so I have been able to eat and love just about everything on the list, and I do love that they have a decent vegetarian option as well. The only thing I will comment on, is that if you go in the winter to eat..its FREEZING inside...so many windows and doors, but I do still like the quaintness of it. Definitely would recommend...just bring an extra sweater! read more

I don't like to leave a bad rap to a business; but when you serve me the crap I paid 30 bucks for, via Grubhub, I have to make a statement. Ordered the Mexian Burrito and I received a glob that looked like it was going to seep out of the sides of the aluminum casing. It was the worst Mexican "thing" I ever attempted to eat. It was tasteless, full of cheap starch (forgot to tell them NO RICE) and beans, and about 3 pieces of strange, very square pieces of chicken, that looked like it was canned. 0 shrimp. 3 strands of beef. I couldn't hold it, so I had to slice away at it, and really just picked on the morsels of "meat" and jalapeños. Again, all tasteless. I was better off ordering from Chipolte. Suffice it to say, after eating about 1/3 of it, I trashed the rest. These people better get their act together, or they are going to be defunct in a matter of time. Jesus! The Flaming Burrito is a breath of fresh air among the chain burrito places. If is authentic to the core. Just the pictures of Don Quixote on the walls is an indication of how real the food and people are. The Flaming Burrito grilled chicken was big very hearty and hit the spot. Ever since moving to Weehawken, this has been one of my go to spots, whether dining or taking out. It's right on the main road in Weehawken/Union City (Park Ave) & during the spring/summer months has outside seating right on the sidewalk. When you walk inside, it is dimly lit, but the natural light coming from the front windows helps out a lot. There is always Spanish music playing & there are a variety of tables to choose from depending on how big your party is. My go to table is the one right by the window as it is big enough for everyone & provides a very nice view. The service here is very quick & they always provide each table with an unlimited amount of chips & salsa (that goes quickly whenever I go). It's a BYO & they will make margaritas for you & allow you to add the liquor too it after. If you're just doing pickup (via Yelp) they always have the food ready for you when they say it will, so no waiting at all. What I really like about this place is the food. The menu is decent size & there are plenty of options to choose from. I feel safe saying that I have NEVER disliked any of the food that I have ordered here. It may be called Flaming Burritos, but their tacos, quesadillas, & fajitas are also excellent as well. I change up my order every time I go because I enjoy all the food that much. I really enjoy this establishment & will be continuing to go there for the foreseeable future! read more

Small local Mexican restaurant, food was pretty good. I had a mixed fajita which included strips of steak, grilled chicken and grilled shrimp. Shrimp was cooked perfectly not too rubbery, only gripe I had with my meal were the large strips of beef & chicken. I think they just needed to be cut a tad shorter and thinner for the consumer. Overall everything we had was delicious, especially the frozen margaritas which is what we came for. Guest I were with had fish tacos, which are huge by the way, you could split them and ask for extra tortillas. Street style tacos are delicious and portionally appropriate. read more

Ingesting this guacamole was like subjecting my taste buds to a Greek tragedy, except this flavor profile was decidedly more one note and less interesting: An abuse of salt that could have been better used curing the meat's of an Italian deli for the remainder of COVID lockdown. A texture so uncomfortably, uniformly smooth that it made me question my existence. And yet...my ill-fated decision was met with not just injury, but insult. Perpetually expecting low standards in the delivery game of life, I ordered a backup - a fail safe, if you will - in the form of hot red salsa. What can even be said, except: if an alien visited earth with no conception of humanity, was provided a can of red paper flakes; water; and unripened tomatoes; this alien would manage to produce a better tasting product. I ordered a grilled chicken burrito supreme and the chicken was extremely dry and tasteless, heaped with brown rice, some beans and not much else. Don't bother Pickup order for Flaming naked chicken mole Burrito. At $13 had high expectations but Flaming salsa needs more umph. Small containers on side... Flaming salsa and sour cream given is WAY too little. Mole sauce good flavors but chicken texture so-so. Naked burrito option is bare (large $ charges for lettuce or additional tiny salsa container) - I'm not trying to compare to a Chipotle since this is authentic mex, but they really fell short here on what could have otherwise been a blockbuster item. Perhaps the meal / experience better in store. If try again will stick to normal flaming burrito and ask for lots of Flaming salsa. read more

Not sure why this place doesn't have a higher rating. I've ordered from them a few times and the food is always plentiful and tasty. I wouldn't consider this authentic Mexican but it's quite good. I always get the deluxe chicken quesadilla and it's HUGE, my boyfriend gets the burrito and that also seems to be big. I love their guac and chips, always very fresh and tasty, despite the $8.95 price tag which seems a little excessive, I always order them. I've also ordered take out and had no issues.
