    Tacos De Birria
    Elsie C.

Ambiance is nice... the decor is very pretty and theres a great view of the NYC skyline. Service was Okayyyy. My food took forever to come. By the time it arrived, I ate alone. The rest of my group finished. Waitress was nice and friendly. I got the Birria tacos... not great. Super oily and fatty. I couldn't eat them. I was too grossed out and knew I'd be suffering with heartburn later. It's unfortunate that a place with great location, view, and staff has sucky food.

Small Mexican restaurant in Weehawken. Food was better than I expected. The table side guacamole was delicious. The birria tacos were decent. Not as flavorful and some other places I've tried.

I don't understand why the rating of this place isn't 4+ stars. I have been going to Charrito's for years and each time it has been amazing. The food is great, the drinks are out of this world, the ambiance is top notch, and the view is spectacular. It can get quite busy on the weekends, especially in the summer...but isn't that the case everywhere nice? Come early. Get the table side guacamole, try a couple of margaritas, and try a new dish each visit. This place should be celebrated.

Ordered 2 taco dishes and a side of guacamole and chips. The steak tacos were good, but the birria tacos were a bit on the soggier side. The winner of the show was the freshly made guacamole dip! They bring all the ingredients to your table and start mashing the avocado and mixing in the seasoning to your taste! The restaurant is above a cliff and the views of Manhattan are incredible! Even though we dined outside on a very hot day, the shade and breeze kept us very comfortable. If you have a car, know that valet parking is $10. There is also nearby street parking.

I have been a customer of Charritos for so long, it's time for a review. I've been to the Weehawken and Hoboken location. The Hoboken location is irrelevant since it is no longer open but I have always preferred the Weehawken location. To start off, they have the best real estate on Boulevard East. Absolutely nothing else compares to that view and no other restaurant on the boulevard can say they have a similar view (Riverroad is a different conversation). If you go, try to go during sunset. Trust me :) We arrived around 8PM and waited around 30 minutes for a table outside. Could have been sat down immediately but we were set on being outside, despite the spotted lantern fly issue. One of them hopped on my friend but that is not the restaurant's fault. It's a new reality the locals gotta deal with when being on the blvd. Thankfully, one did not hop in the food or drinks. Immediately upon sitting, we ordered a Passionfruit Mojito Pitcher. This was not on the menu, it used to be, but they still make it for me when I go (thank you sm). There were three of us and the pitcher gave us approximately 2 drinks each. For appetizer, we ordered el Queso Fundido. I couldn't geg a photo because we devoured that thing. It is a bit oily, but oh so yummy. For mains, we ordered Enchiladas Norteñas with chicken and green sauce, Shrimp Tacos, and Al Pastor Tacos. I am biased when it comes to the enchiladas, they are my go to. So delicious! The green sauce is not spicy but it really makes the dish for me. The tacos al pastor had a good amount of meat, but wish they came with a bit more onion and pineapple. We ordered green sauce on the side but seemed to be from a different batch or was specifically for tacos, because it was quite spicy. For reference, my friend often eats spicy foods but she was taken aback by the kick. We ordered sour cream on the side as well. Please note they do charge for the sour cream. The sauce in the shrimp tacos was great. The Tres Leches cake was delicious and I believe has peaches in the filling. If you are coming from out of town and driving, they have valet. If it is full, you may need to wait a bit for a spot to open up. The service overall was okay; they were very quick in getting you what you needed. Definitely check out Charritos if you are in the area!

We love this place! If you want to beat the traffic and not worry about reservations then come during lunch time. You can also get public parking outside in the morning. Salsa is freshly made in the morning so that's a plus for lunchtime. They increased guacamole price from $10 to $16. I would probably refrain from ordering that next time. Ambiance is as usual top notch with view of the city!

Really good Tex Mex with a beautiful view and beautifully crafted indoor decorations that change with the seasons...and the BEST table side guac ever! They also have outdoor seating to enjoy the view during warm months. Valet parking is a must as it's nearly impossible to find street parking, but it's $10 which stinks since it was $3 just a few years ago. Came here in Dec and sat indoors. Indoor decorations reflected a festive winter wonderland. I always get table side guac here to start. Even their chips are deliciously salty and crunchy. Salsa tastes like it was homemade and not from a jar. Ordered beef fajitas and my friends carne and pollo asada. Everything tasted great, but carne asada was slightly chewy. There's a bar if you want drinks. Prices are very reasonable and portions ample. Service was very good. My only con was the expensive valet parking.

This is my favorite go to, Authentic Mexican place! The Enchiladas Mole are outstanding. The ensalada mixed is abundant and healthy. The table side Guac never disappoints. The staff is delightful and attentive.

I always order the steak fajitas. They are well seasoned and delicious. I've never had bad service and Think the views of the city are amazing.

4.5 Stars! Recently, we stopped in for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining with wonderful views of New York City. Very festive Mexican indoor decor. We ordered Mojitos- Regular and Passion fruit. Both cocktails were phenomenal! Food consisted of Guacamole prepared table side and beer batter cod tacos. The guacamole was excellent. The tacos were good, but had too many onions. Service was friendly and very good. Parking is primarily on the street. Think there might be a small private parking lot available.

This is a really nice Mexican restaurant with the skyline view. You have the ability to sit outside or inside. It is beautifully decorated with bright colors. I had pollo en rajas for the first time and I would certainly be back for it! The chicken and corn was on a light and creamy sauce (similar to Alfredo). The portion is big and filling. The flan was great too! The only thing I would state is that the margaritas felt a bit small for the price $15 each.

Simple yet so well cooked ! Fast service and nice view. Good place for a warm spring evening dinner over a glass of spicy margarita

One of the best views of NYC from the coast. Kind of pricey for the portion sizes but overall great experience. This place is a hidden gem.

She was attentive; while still maintaining tables. Did an amazing job I would say. The food was the problem. It was all over the place and had so many burnt pieces. I ordered one fish and one shrimp taco with all the regular toppings and shared the fish ceviche tostada with my boyfriend. This was the perfect amount for a fulfilling lunch that didn't feel too heavy. I really enjoyed both tacos and would definitely order both of them again! The tortilla is solid, the fish is hot and fresh, and the cold toppings round out the flavors. If I had to pick a favorite, there's just something about a great fish taco, and this one is done excellently. It's definitely fried, but it still had just enough fish inside. The shrimp is also fried/battered and very tasty; I added a tiny bit of the more mild salsas to most of the bites of each. The fish ceviche tostada was refreshing and I liked that it came with avocado. It tasted fairly fresh, though it was a little less exciting than the tacos. Adding lime definitely compliments the flavor. I'd try a different ceviche next time, but recommend prioritizing the tacos first. We really enjoyed the fun vibes of the place too, especially with the soccer games playing!

The menu has plenty of variety across pastas, seafood, and cocktails, with some unique dishes that made the experience memorable. The drinks were a highlight, and the seafood options stood out the most for me. My Tipsy Tayke: The Fragola Fizz was juicy, fruity, and refreshing. The Forever Summer was another standout, with the smokiness of the mezcal blending really well with the fruit flavors without overpowering them. Both are easy recommendations depending on whether you want something fruity or a little more complex. My Taysty Tayke: Get Down & Dirty, Expeditiously: Seafood Ravioli Unique, flavorful, and packed with different seafood flavors. The ravioli itself was delicate and had a tendency to fall apart, but the flavor made up for it. Standout: Calamari Crispy, seasoned, and enjoyable. It had a slightly chewy texture, but I still found myself going back for more. The Carpaccio wasn't necessarily for me texture-wise, but I really enjoyed the greens and dressing that accompanied it. The garnish felt intentional and helped bring the dish together. The Pappardelle came with plenty of sauce but could have used more flavor overall. The complimentary bread was also tougher and chewier than I prefer. Desserts: The Lemon Sorbet was easily my favorite dessert. Bright, refreshing, and packed with real lemon flavor. The Mango Sorbet was another refreshing option with a smooth tropical sweetness. The Panna Cotta Cheesecake leaned closer to a mousse in texture and was definitely on the sweeter side. I especially enjoyed it with the cherry, which helped balance everything out. Service: Warm and attentive throughout the meal, fitting the inviting atmosphere. Plates From My Visit: Calamari Carpaccio Seafood Ravioli Pappardelle Lemon Sorbet Mango Sorbet Panna Cotta Cheesecake Fragola Fizz Forever Summer In Conclusion: A warm Chelsea Italian spot with strong cocktails, unique seafood dishes, and refreshing desserts. The Seafood Ravioli was the highlight of the savory side, but whatever you do, save room for that Lemon Sorbet. Stamped by Elajas
