I was on my way to something and then I passed this place and thought it was Los Tacos No. 1 because of the similar setup that it boasts. Then I saw it was another chain called Mexican Tacos. They have ropes for people to line up and a QR code to scan the menu on your phone. Their menu has more items than Los Tacos No. 1 with their plates. They got chicken, beef, and pork, plates besides just the cactus. Also they got mulitas, which I don't see in other taco places. I ended up getting a chicken quesadilla and they give you a ticket after paying to give to the kitchen staff to make. I got it with flour tortilla since it is softer to chew and a better taste in my opinion. I told the guy in the kitchen that I wanted everything on it. Then when I bit in it, it was somewhat spicy! I can tolerate spice so it was okay. Did not know they would include spice in the quesadilla. Guacamole was very good on it. It was very soft and a liquid consistency. I should have gotten some more tacos too because this quesadilla size wasn't big enough.

Really flavorful and well made tacos. Super fast service. The meat is well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I love the assortment of salsas and toppings bar that they have as well. The guys working are also super friendly and sweet. Just wish they had indoor seating. Love coming here for a tasty taco.

    Tacos & elote

Decided to come try out Mexico tacos after having a workout class and see if it hits the spot. I went with some classic tacos and elote and a nice horchata. The tacos were pretty good the elote was seasoned differently which I wasn't a big fan of. The horchata was really good though but definitely a place for a quick bite and go but not the best I've had either but service was great and chill grab and go restaurant.

Came here during the late evening hours for the first time. It is in a good spot not too far from the path and close to all the bars. The place is clean, bright snd inviting. They had a pretty good menu. It is definitely a grab and go kind of place. I ordered one steak and one chicken taco as well as chips and guac. I loved the fact that you can choose between corn snd flour tortillas. Corn is always better. The reason for the three stars is that the tacos lacked flavor. I was so excited and they looked good. I took a bite into the chicken and it was lackluster. I had high hopes for the steak and it was bland. I wasn't feeling the guac on the tacos. It was too creamy like there was something in it like mayo. Also, the chips were very greasy through the bag, too greasy for my liking. Overall, the place serves its purpose that if it is the end of the night and you're craving tacos , this place will do the trick.

adobada / al pastor taco on flour tortilla

This place got off to a shaky start with some iffy branding decisions, but the food speaks for itself pretty well. The adobada tacos I got were well-executed, with the seared edges that make them so good. Comparable in quality to the original across the river (which I got yesterday so i could make a good comparison). The salsas, kept on ice, are a bonus, and the friendly staff are attentive and may offer extras or suggestions. It's a bit loud inside, and prices are on the higher side, typical for the neighborhood. I've also gotten their takeout, which loses a bit in travel but is still good. Would suggest they include some salsas as well for takeout. They seem responsive to feedback and the workers are trying to win folks over. Pretty satisfied with my visit, will be returning.

NOW THESE ARE AUTHENTIC MEXICAN TACOS! definitely exceeded my expectations. plenty of of staff for fast great service. a hoboken must-have to complete the best night out!

    Chicken Quesadilla. Cheese underneath.

My fav taco spot in Hoboken!!! I would say equal good with Los Tacos #1! Quesadillas smaller than I expected, but flavor, juiciness, freshness, all pretty good!

It's an also an opportunity to thank Tacoria for the "small" nachos, currently $10 and not small. When I discovered the JC branch circa 2020 Uber delivery, it was definitely one of the cheapest non-pizza options in coastal NJ. The golden avocado is perhaps the best of the main ingredients but multiple versions benefit from the escabeche peppers. (I will confess that I have ordered different things partly for the sake of having non-duplicate Yelp photo ops). You'll also enjoy the hot sauces and guava basil beverage.

A cashier immediately tried to stop her from going, even though we were clearly customers already waiting in line to order. What made the situation worse was what happened next. A manager identified as Justin and another cashier began arguing about the situation in front of customers. Instead of calmly explaining any policy, the discussion turned into an awkward back-and-forth between staff members while we stood there waiting. The entire interaction became uncomfortable and embarrassing, and it felt like we were being treated as if we had done something wrong simply for asking to use the restroom while waiting to order. If the restaurant has a policy that restrooms are only for paying customers, that's completely understandable. However, there was no visible sign anywhere explaining that policy. Situations like this should be handled professionally and respectfully, especially when customers are already in line to make a purchase. What could have been a simple moment of customer service instead turned into an unnecessarily uncomfortable experience. I hope management reviews how staff communicate policies with customers and considers posting clear signage about restroom access so situations like this can be avoided in the future.

That occasion had been a few years ago and had involved an insanely strong margarita, an experience that I would not want to relive. However, my friend suggested grabbing dinner there recently, and since it was a nice evening and their outdoor dining was right on the main thoroughfare of Washington Street, I agreed to at least go to enjoy their excellent people watching. I certainly vowed to skip the cocktails, but was willing to give their food another chance. We started with crisp, lightly-salty tortilla chips and a rich, bold salsa. I then ordered Vegetable Fajitas, which included green and red bell peppers, zucchini, and onions. The peppers had been sliced so thin that they were barely noticeable and made hardly any flavor impact. The sizzling platter was also about 85% onions, of which I was not a fan, so I sent back most of them in the end. The whole thing was also rather greasy. The flour tortillas were delicious and not artificial tasting like most. The DIY platter was also served with a side plate of refreshing sour cream, well-seasoned guacamole, sliced jalapenos, and fresh pico de gallo. I wished the portions of these condiments were larger, though, and the guacamole, in particular. The staff was so friendly, allowing us to linger at the table after we paid and even refilling our water during that time. They all provided service with a smile, which also helped ease any frustration a diner might have about the fact that they apply an automatic tip of 20% to the check for any party size. While I still had a decent experience at East LA, it was much better than I had remembered, and I would be willing to return.

The outside has always made me walk past, but I finally decided to try it tonight as I've gotten sick of Chipotle. Plus it's always a good feeling to support our local businesses. While I wouldn't call this spot a "hidden gem" of Hoboken by any stretch, I did thoroughly enjoy my burrito. I got a regular grilled chicken burrito and everything that came with it. Upon my first bite it was apparent that the chicken was more like hibachi chicken than grilled chicken (not a complaint but not what was advertised). If you try it you'll know exactly what I mean. No complaints about anything else. They could have made more of an effort in evenly distributing the contents of the burrito but thats just me being picky. If it means anything to whoever may be reading this...the burrito felt like it weighed 5 pounds and I found myself eating the entire thing. So why 3/5 stars? This burrito cost me $16! While the ingredients were fresh and the portion was huge, it's hard to justify one burrito at almost 20 bucks. Complain about Chipotle's portions all u want, but my bowl there only costs me like $12. I'd definitely go back again at some point, but it just didn't taste good ENOUGH to justify the price tag. Tacoria has a better burrito (imo) and is a few bucks cheaper. Still, worth a try for sure.

They are very overpriced for what we received. One small piece of fish per little taco shell. Flavor was ok. Are they worth $22? Absolutely not. We will not be reordering these. The Esquites Gratinee corn side dish was bigger than the guacamole portion and flavorful per my boyfriend. I don't eat corn so I didn't have any. My boyfriend really liked it. Said it's unique and 10/10. He would get this again. The truffle ribeye burrito is delicious. Though I didn't get any truffle flavor? If it was there, it's minimal. I didn't taste it at all. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and it's a good portion of meat. Tender and flavorful. No chewiness. Sauce on top is amazing. Rice and beans cooked perfect. Would order this again. It's worth it. Even without truffle flavor. Great portion size too. The black chili crunch guacamole is the star of the show. While it's a small portion, it's very flavorful. Love the garlic. Love the crunch. Fresh avocados. This is worth it. We would definitely order it again. Highly recommend the guac. Small but mighty haha.
