    Banh Mi

The food isn't amazing, it's just okay, but workers are really nice and the place is clean. The sandwich is much better than the bowl, in my experience ($15 either way plus tax). The rice was a little dry and proteins in the bowl weren't very hot. The sandwich was really good though, hit the spot. The Thai iced tea was very very very mild flavor, so disappointing and I would not recommend trying that. This is fast casual so the atmosphere leaves much to be desired. I would explore other places around town before stopping here.

I have never had Vietnamese food before. Tried the Pho at Bon Banh and enjoyed it. Filling and satisfying with many complementary flavors. Service was good and place was clean and casual. Appears to do a lot of takeout order, but also comfortable to eat-in. Especially appreciated the fact that a bottle of water was $1.50. it's nice to see a "normal" price once in a while. Street parking can be challenging. Pay via park mobile app.

The bowl that my husband and I got tasted amazing! The service was good however it seemed as if they were not knowledgeable if I was able to have bulgogi in my bowl. I know they have the bulgogi cheesesteak so I knew they had it there. They definitely accommodated my request and it was so good! My husband said he could eat this everyday if it were local and I felt the same!

Kind of surprised about all the raving reviews here, but regardless was pretty excited for some Banh Mi as I haven't had it in such a long time. Came on a rainy day on the weekend and there wasn't anyone there. I ordered the Spicy Grilled Pork Banh Mi and I thought the pork itself was interesting as I feel like it typically is pretty thick cut whereas the pork here had more of a bulgogi texture. I did appreciate the fact that the pate wasn't too heavy and went very well with the pickled vegetables. Also, this sandwich is huge, you will feel full. Not sure if this is the most authentic place for Banh Mi, but then again I was spoiled with great Vietnamese food growing up in the Bay Area. I think the meat isn't super authentic.

I've ordered Too Good to Go from here a few times. Their TGTG food is delicious and entirely edible. It sells out quickly. First time, they gave 2 large rice bowls and 3 egg rolls. Second, they gave 1 giant vermicelli bowl. I was disappointed at the lesser value, but I still made it last 2 meals. Third, they gave 2 large fresh vermicelli bowls and 3 egg rolls. Delicious and extremely filling. As good value as the first time.

Checked out bon banh for dinner. One of the best banh mi's I've had. The spicy pork is definitely spicy but delicious. The vegetables are fresh and crunchy and the bread super soft. The spring rolls are also super fresh and delicious. Definitely a place to come check out

First time coming here and I'm so glad we did! We are frequent diners at authentic Vietnamese restaurants so I was a bit skeptical about this place. I was happily surprised! I had the noodle bowl with everything in it and my two proteins were beef and shrimp. The bowl was hefty! I brought some home for leftovers! The beef was tasty and to my happy surprise the shrimp were full size and plentiful-not the tiny bits you often get! We also ordered shrimp summer rolls which were very large and packed full of shrimp and veggies and crispy bits. Definitely worth it! Generous portions, a delicious meal at a reasonable price. This is my new favorite take out or dine in place in Hoboken! Other options in Hoboken are getting really pricy. This is a perfect option for those of us who don't want to break the bank but also don't want to cook. We will definitely be back!!!!

Nice spot for quick lunch, i got bowl with pork and beef, you could choose two sauce to go with it. i picked house (with sauce sauce) and peanut sauce. i I think the house save is better to pair with the protein picked. I also prefer the beef than pork ( but i have to say the pork is better than it look) Large portion, i struggle to finish it. Very nice decor, and ambiance. Will come back to try banh mi.

    Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi
    Christina D.

Ordered a lemongrass banh mi sandwich and truly enjoyed it. Lemongrass chicken was well seasoned and tender. Baguette nicely toasted with food crunch and soft insides. The toppings were fresh and packed a nice pinch of spice and tang between the fresh jalapeños and the marinated daikon/carrots. The pâté was perfect, not too much and not overwhelming but brought a nice umami to the sandwich. Overall a nice and light sandwich, that's generous to share between two semi hungry people or one really hungry person. Looking forward to coming back and trying their other options!

    Banh Mi with chicken

A fast casual Vietnamese shop with a very friendly staff, a clean bathroom, and convenient outdoor seating for the times we live in. My guest and I had a tofu rice bowl and a chicken Banh mi. Both were loaded with fresh, but plain vegetables, and appropriately spicy and subtle proteins. For me, the food did the job. I tried also the Vietnamese iced coffee, but it was overpowered by whatever syrup they use to flavor it. When I asked for a cup of water for my doggie, the staff very thoughtfully volunteered one of the compostable bowls instead, the better for him to get his face into.

Sausage Banh Mi and Fried Pork Dumplings (6)
    Ipsita D.

Saw this place on DoorDash and thought I'd try it since Vietnamese places are rare around here and it had been ages since I had Banh Mi. I had the one with Vietnamese sausage, which was pretty large and good (liked the bread as well) and also ordered the fried pork dumplings (tasty) and spring roll (small and just ok). For drinks I had the Vietnamese coffee and a mango drink for later, both were pretty good. I would definitely try the other dishes as well when I'm in the mood for this kind of food.

Chose to try this when our first place didn't pan out, and what a happy last minute surprise to discover this! I debated pho or a bowl and the bowl won out, and I'm glad it did. I got a base or lettuce and noodles, chose chicken and spicy pork for my protein, added carrot slaw, cucumbers, tomatoes, and pretty much everything else. Comes with two dressings - so I chose chili mayo dressing and cilantro lime. The meat was delicious. The spicy pork had kick but not too much heat and it was nicely complex in flavor. The carrot slaw was delicious and the veggies were all crisp and fresh. The dressings were both tasty and they mixed well together. I couldn't have enjoyed that bowl more. My friend got the pho and loved it. It looked delicious too. They had drinks available in dispensers that looked enticing but but unfortunately none were sugar free so I had to pass and opt for bottled water. That would be the only downside I found to this restaurant. Wish there was a drink other than water for those who can't have sugar - even an unsweetened iced tea.

It's an also an opportunity to thank Tacoria for the "small" nachos, currently $10 and not small. When I discovered the JC branch circa 2020 Uber delivery, it was definitely one of the cheapest non-pizza options in coastal NJ. The golden avocado is perhaps the best of the main ingredients but multiple versions benefit from the escabeche peppers. (I will confess that I have ordered different things partly for the sake of having non-duplicate Yelp photo ops). You'll also enjoy the hot sauces and guava basil beverage.

A cashier immediately tried to stop her from going, even though we were clearly customers already waiting in line to order. What made the situation worse was what happened next. A manager identified as Justin and another cashier began arguing about the situation in front of customers. Instead of calmly explaining any policy, the discussion turned into an awkward back-and-forth between staff members while we stood there waiting. The entire interaction became uncomfortable and embarrassing, and it felt like we were being treated as if we had done something wrong simply for asking to use the restroom while waiting to order. If the restaurant has a policy that restrooms are only for paying customers, that's completely understandable. However, there was no visible sign anywhere explaining that policy. Situations like this should be handled professionally and respectfully, especially when customers are already in line to make a purchase. What could have been a simple moment of customer service instead turned into an unnecessarily uncomfortable experience. I hope management reviews how staff communicate policies with customers and considers posting clear signage about restroom access so situations like this can be avoided in the future.

That occasion had been a few years ago and had involved an insanely strong margarita, an experience that I would not want to relive. However, my friend suggested grabbing dinner there recently, and since it was a nice evening and their outdoor dining was right on the main thoroughfare of Washington Street, I agreed to at least go to enjoy their excellent people watching. I certainly vowed to skip the cocktails, but was willing to give their food another chance. We started with crisp, lightly-salty tortilla chips and a rich, bold salsa. I then ordered Vegetable Fajitas, which included green and red bell peppers, zucchini, and onions. The peppers had been sliced so thin that they were barely noticeable and made hardly any flavor impact. The sizzling platter was also about 85% onions, of which I was not a fan, so I sent back most of them in the end. The whole thing was also rather greasy. The flour tortillas were delicious and not artificial tasting like most. The DIY platter was also served with a side plate of refreshing sour cream, well-seasoned guacamole, sliced jalapenos, and fresh pico de gallo. I wished the portions of these condiments were larger, though, and the guacamole, in particular. The staff was so friendly, allowing us to linger at the table after we paid and even refilling our water during that time. They all provided service with a smile, which also helped ease any frustration a diner might have about the fact that they apply an automatic tip of 20% to the check for any party size. While I still had a decent experience at East LA, it was much better than I had remembered, and I would be willing to return.

The outside has always made me walk past, but I finally decided to try it tonight as I've gotten sick of Chipotle. Plus it's always a good feeling to support our local businesses. While I wouldn't call this spot a "hidden gem" of Hoboken by any stretch, I did thoroughly enjoy my burrito. I got a regular grilled chicken burrito and everything that came with it. Upon my first bite it was apparent that the chicken was more like hibachi chicken than grilled chicken (not a complaint but not what was advertised). If you try it you'll know exactly what I mean. No complaints about anything else. They could have made more of an effort in evenly distributing the contents of the burrito but thats just me being picky. If it means anything to whoever may be reading this...the burrito felt like it weighed 5 pounds and I found myself eating the entire thing. So why 3/5 stars? This burrito cost me $16! While the ingredients were fresh and the portion was huge, it's hard to justify one burrito at almost 20 bucks. Complain about Chipotle's portions all u want, but my bowl there only costs me like $12. I'd definitely go back again at some point, but it just didn't taste good ENOUGH to justify the price tag. Tacoria has a better burrito (imo) and is a few bucks cheaper. Still, worth a try for sure.
