Wandered in at the end 2 mile walk, looking for something right and healthful. Ordered a grilled chicken salad with steamed vegetables. I was expecting bland and boring. Instead, it tasted like Mexico, which is never boring. Staff is truthful and helpful. The ambience feels like this is where the locals eat. I always hope to find that as a tourist. Prices were reasonable as well. And it was perfectly clean.. These guys are working hard to make someplace nice. read more

The food delicious. My meal was little too oily for me but still delicious. Our food arrived quickly and the service was nice. The ambiance reminded me of Mexico but little small. Food was little pricey but that's to be expected. Overall if you're in the area and are craving Mexican food, this place has you covered. read more

We had: (1) Taco Salad with Al Pastor and Chicken (you can choose two different meats! (2) Lengua Chimichanga (3) Muchos Nachos with Al Pastor Everything came out to $35 and change. Everything was absolutely delicious, we'll definitely be back. Their service is very, very quick, almost like fast food place quick. I almost felt like being in a Mexico street food stall when I saw how they cooked their meat... in a good way!:) We saw a bunch of people get tacos so we might have to try that next time! They had a few tables available if you'd like to eat in. read more

It's very difficult to find good Mexican spots in the East Coast especially in the Tri State area. This place is legit!! The place has the vibrant Mexican pastels. It's a very small place with a few tables. The salsas are great! The food is great! It looks like it's family owned as you'll have young boys and girls serving you. The tacos were AMAZING and it's not too pricey. It was $40ish for three. I will come back here again! read more

Cemitas Puebla - 4 taco order- 2 pastor, 1 carne asada and 1 tongue. - Mexican Near Me - Union City, New Jersey

I will always need my Mexican food wherever I go, so here it goes. I order the enchiladas (green and rancheras), al pastor taco, and a carnitas chimichangas. The taco was the best in our opinion and the others were not too bad and not the best. The red sauce they give separately is spicy but good. The horchata and tamarindo drinks (agua fresca) were not that good, they tasted like the powder flavor drinks. The service was good, and the place was not packed, it was pretty cute inside. read more

always a 10/10. great food, great service and always speedy delivery and reliability. can't recommend this place enough

Consistent pricing. How come on Uber eats the price is cheaper than a pick up order via phone . Absolutely despise businesses that do this. Also make sure you have everything before leaving the store. They charge me extra and did not give me what was listed on the menu. read more

Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! Authentic food. Good prices and good portions. Tried and shared a few different things. The chicken chimichanga, al pastor, carnita, and chicken tacos, and the nachos. By far everyone's fav was the nachos! Surprised to have actual queso and not melted shredded cheese! Get it with steak and thank me later. The chimichanga was mmm so good and packed with meat (not rice like other places). The food is prepared literally right in front you and fast! Definitely will come back. Parking is very hard but you can always call in your order and pick up. read more

Definitely one of the best taco spots in Union City! The meat is seasoned very well and you get a good portion of it in your tacos. It can become crowded and the inside is not too spacious, however taking them to go is always an option if you do not want to sit in a crowded restaurant. read more

It's been a long time since I've been this excited about Mexican food--not TexMex or CaliMex which I enjoy as well... but this stuff is legit. Start with the 4 salsas and freshly made guacamole. You could use that alone as a heavy snack or light meal. Then, smoke the crispy creamy rich tripas without the funk. The caramelized and lush lengua, lean and heady chorizo, and the tangy, crispy tender al pastor. They will blow your mind. The horchata was a bit subtle for me. I prefer stronger cinnamon and a more rustic drink. Price point was humane for the huge portions. read more

A friend was raving about this place for months before we finally tried it and we were not disappointed. We ordered Chicken Enchilada, Heavy Tacos, Vegetable Fajitas, side of guacamole, and side of salsa for pick up. The food was ready in 15 minutes and was very tasty. The portions were substantial for all the main dishes but the sides were much smaller than expected. If you love guacamole as much as I do, you'll want to order two or three. Overall, I highly recommend this taqueria, and we will be going back soon. read more

So lucky to have Cemitas Puebla near our house! We visited Texas and were in the mood for similar tacos we've had and this place didn't disappoint! This place is legit guys! What we got: Tacos Mexican style- al pastor, carnitas, chorizo, lengua, cabeza de res Super tasty and flavorful! They don't skimp on the meat and toppings at all either! They provided chips with salsa which were also tasty. FYI though, it's small inside, so call ahead to see if there's a wait. Cant wait to go back and try other their other tacos!! read more

We ordered from here on a Sunday evening. This time, we had the Al Pastor burrito (solid burrito, just like in my last review) and a Lamb Gyro. I know what you are thinking...who the heck orders a lamb gyro from a Mexican place? But don't sleep on it! It was surprisingly good. I liked that they had this option since my fiance always wants Mexican food, but I don't. So now we can order something from the same place that we can both enjoy! (still kind of upset that their sammies weren't great though). read more

I simply looooooove this family run authentic Mexican place. Their tacos THE BEST I've had on east coast. I never liked tacos when I lived in manhattan because the manhattan tacos usually taste a bit dry and bland. Cemitas made me fall in love with tacos just like when I did in Mexico City! They have the most authentic taste here! My first time I tried carne, cow belly, beef and pollo. My second time I go all cabeza! My favorite taco meat is Cabezas, no doubt! Cabezas is so tender, so well marinated and the damn delish meat juicy flows when I bite! The family that runs this place was also very nice to me. Gave me good recommendation for the Jamaica drink (made of mixture of flowers, tastes fruity, tomato juice like). I love it here! read more

The food was good but delivery was a disappointment. We ordered tacos al pastor, curly fries (dont judge) and agua de Jamaica. The tacos - street style, meaning the tortillas are smaller and they are topped with cilantro and onions. The flavor of the meat and the doneness was perfect. It even came topped with a few slices of grilled pineapple and grilled scallions on the side. I can only imagine how much better it would have been if it was hot. Curly fries - yeah, we ordered fries from a Mexican restaurant, but who can resist curly fries. Cant mess up fries... wait yes you can! They were cold and not crunchy.... sad day for curly fries. Agua de Jamaica- sweeten hibiscus tea. Not much to say about it. It was pretty ordinary. It took us over an hr and 20 minutes to receive our cold dinner. Even then the food was ok. If anyone would give this place a try, I reccomend to eat in, at least that way you can try the food while it's hot. read more

Super good Mexican food. Super small place with a couple of tables. Once you walk in you can see where they make all the food, as well as a boiling pot with all the meats stewing. If you see a boiling pot of meats, you know the food is going to be good. Got the four tacos for $12, and a side of guacamole. They really load up the tacos with meat, and tons of onions and cilantro. The al pastor was prolly the best, with the chorizo and carnitas also being super tasty. Seriously some of the best tacos I've had in the NYC/NJ area. Service is super great and friendly as well, definitely recommend for a fast and delicious lunch or dinner. read more

This is one of my best experiences with Cemitas Poblanas in the United States, the ingredients were top notch which made the food delicious. The cook was really good, the cheese used for the Cemita was traditional 'Queso de Hebra' and flavor was perfect the avocado was delicious and plenty! I advise you that I had the Chicken Cemita and that it was huge that I even had plenty to take to my hotel room for dinner. The folks who run this place are really from Puebla and it shows in how the food is prepared so they know what authentic Mexican food means. The location is great and the decor make you feel that you are at home. The food here was great; full of flavor and generous portions. The staff was attentive and friendly as well; they were all helpful and provided answers to all my inquiries. Another thing I appreciated is complementary salsas and chips they were just right. Yummi Yummi I could live happily off of the salsas and chips from here. I couldn't be happier with the food, so they can totally expect me here soon. read more
