I will always need my Mexican food wherever I go, so here it goes. I order the enchiladas (green and rancheras), al pastor taco, and a carnitas chimichangas. The taco was the best in our opinion and the others were not too bad and not the best. The red sauce they give separately is spicy but good. The horchata and tamarindo drinks (agua fresca) were not that good, they tasted like the powder flavor drinks. It's very difficult to find good Mexican spots in the East Coast especially in the Tri State area. This place is legit!! The place has the vibrant Mexican pastels. We ordered Chicken Enchilada, Heavy Tacos, Vegetable Fajitas, side of guacamole, and side of salsa for pick up. The food was ready in 15 minutes and was very tasty. The portions were substantial for all the main dishes but the sides were much smaller than expected. If you love guacamole as much as I do, you'll want to order two or three. They have the most authentic taste here! My first time I tried carne, cow belly, beef and pollo. My second time I go all cabeza! My favorite taco meat is Cabezas, no doubt! Cabezas is so tender, so well marinated and the damn delish meat juicy flows when I bite! The family that runs this place was also very nice to me. The food was good but delivery was a disappointment. We ordered tacos al pastor, curly fries (dont judge) and agua de Jamaica. The tacos - street style, meaning the tortillas are smaller and they are topped with cilantro and onions. The flavor of the meat and the doneness was perfect. It even came topped with a few slices of grilled pineapple and grilled scallions on the side. I can only imagine how much better it would have been if it was hot. Curly fries - yeah, we ordered fries from a Mexican restaurant, but who can resist curly fries. Cant mess up fries... wait yes you can! They were cold and not crunchy.... sad day for curly fries. Agua de Jamaica- sweeten hibiscus tea. Not much to say about it. It was pretty ordinary. It took us over an hr and 20 minutes to receive our cold dinner. Even then the food was ok. Super good Mexican food. Super small place with a couple of tables. Once you walk in you can see where they make all the food, as well as a boiling pot with all the meats stewing. If you see a boiling pot of meats, you know the food is going to be good. Got the four tacos for $12, and a side of guacamole. They really load up the tacos with meat, and tons of onions and cilantro. The al pastor was prolly the best, with the chorizo and carnitas also being super tasty. This is one of my best experiences with Cemitas Poblanas in the United States, the ingredients were top notch which made the food delicious. The cook was really good, the cheese used for the Cemita was traditional 'Queso de Hebra' and flavor was perfect the avocado was delicious and plenty! I advise you that I had the Chicken Cemita and that it was huge that I even had plenty to take to my hotel room for dinner. The folks who run this place are really from Puebla and it shows in how the food is prepared so they know what authentic Mexican food means. The location is great and the decor make you feel that you are at home. The food here was great; full of flavor and generous portions. The staff was attentive and friendly as well; they were all helpful and provided answers to all my inquiries. Another thing I appreciated is complementary salsas and chips they were just right. I had craving for tacos but I wasnt eating meat so we tried the fish tacos here. Whats great about these is they are not fried. There isnt thick batter or that oily fried taste. The flavor of the fish comes through and it is a serviceable taco. The problem is it was very bland. The taco needed some sort of salt and some spice. They had a dipping sauce that came with it that didnt taste like anything. With a little kick it would have been much better. The taco was also loaded with lettuce so not sure I liked the proportions. Overall, this was serviceable but nothing more. 3 stars. read more
