I have been to Arre a couple of times already. It's a small restaurant full of decorative colors. As soon as you walk in you're welcomed with smiles from the friendly staff. This place can get very busy. From time to time they would offer food tasting events where the chef gets super creative with the meals. One of my favorite events was Mediterranean meet Arre Sinaloa flavors. Everything was so good but my favorite 2 dishes were the Risotto Verde which contained confit wild mushrooms, shaved summer truffles, and queso manchego. This dish left my mouth watering for more. The Wagyu filet mignon came with potato pave, glazed carrots in a romesco sauce. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection. The drinks here are also really good, especially the margaritas! They have street parking available but be ready to look around for awhile as its in a busy area. I definitely recommend everyone to give it a try!

Sinaloa, a Northwestern Mexican state located near the Pacific coastline, is known as the shrimp capital of the world! Due to its location, they produce a rich supply of high quality fish. Their flavorful and fresh seafood dishes have gained both regional and international recognition. There's a first time for everything and we decided to try out Sinaloan cuisine at this local restaurant. Arres Sinaloa is a husband and wife-owned business located in Union City. The parking situation is a nightmare, but cross your fingers and hope for the best. The exterior of the restaurant is a vibrant blue color. Upon walking in, you'll be greeted by an intimate and cozy ambiance. It's not a huge space, but the owners made the most of it. They have a beautiful bar area, exposed brick walls, Spanish music playing softly in the background, dim lighting, and wall art/decor symbolizing Mexican culture. It's not a fancy/upscale place, but it still has that classy feel that makes for a good date night. The menu isn't extensive, but they craft all of their dishes carefully and with love. They offer more unique dishes than your average Mexican restaurant. There's a large emphasis on seafood, but there's plenty of other non-seafood options as well. Our meal: *Complimentary Carrot Salad Ceviche - I'm not a huge fan of carrots, so this appetizer didn't hit home for me. With "ceviche" in its name, I expected more sweet, tangy, or citrusy flavors... but it just tasted like raw carrots. *Dos Artes Blanco Tequila - We had a few shots of this and WOW. This was the first time I've had tequila and I didn't feel like my throat was on fire. I didn't even make a face LOL. It went down easy... can't complain about that. Super smooth, clear, and crisp! *El Sinaloense Guacamole $15 - Included avocados, white onions, jalapeno, cilantro, lime, sea salt, pico de gallo, chile guero, and chicharron served with spiced totopos chips. This guac was made with love! It had a creamy, chunky texture. The rest of the ingredients added the right amount of zest and heat. The chips came out hot and crunchy! I could tell they were freshly baked. *Cochinita Tacos (3) $14 - Included brick oven braised achiote Berkshire pork, pickled habanero onions, and mango salsa on corn masa tortillas. The pork was juicy and tender with a fall-apart-in-your-mouth texture. The pickled habanero onions packed a LOT of heat, so I recommend this one for spice lovers! *Pollo Al Pastor Tacos (3) $14 - Included achiote marinated organic chicken breast, charred pineapple, and avocado salsa on corn masa tortillas. The chicken breast was well seasoned and savory. The avocado salsa was SO GOOD - creamy, tangy, and slightly spicy. These tacos were a very different experience from the ones that I'm used to... and that's not a bad thing at all! Both orders came with a very generous portion of well seasoned, juicy, and tender meat on freshly made corn tortillas. They didn't use a lot of your typical taco toppings and sauces, which made this meal a unique experience of new flavor combinations! *Churros de Cajeta $10 - Loveeeee me some churros! This was the perfect dessert to end the night. They were crispy and fried on the outside with a soft, doughy interior. They weren't overly sweet and had just the right amount of cinnamon and sugar coated on top. The inside was filled with a vanilla cream. Service was excellent from beginning to end. Our waitress was attentive. She was knowledgeable about the menu and answered all of our questions. At the end of the night, we got to meet the chef, Gonzalo. He shared his culinary journey and his love for Mexican cuisine with us. He was so hospitable, warm, and welcoming! He treated us like close friends or family. We're looking forward to our second visit!

Stopped by on Saturday for brunch. I feel like brunch is a great way to experience this restaurant. Restaurant is beautifully decorated and has intimate feel which is great for date nights and girls night out. For brunch, you get the regular menu less the mains for dinner and you also can order brunch entrees. We ordered the smoky guacamole, torre sinaloense, birria sinaloense tacos, fish tacos and the carne asada quesadilla. Smoky guacamole was different. The torre sinaloense ceviche was one of the better ceviches I had - seafood was amazingly fresh, the mixture of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and herbs along with the lime marinated seafood and avocado was refreshing. The short ribs in the birria tacos were tenderly braised and the consommé was a savory addition. With it being presented on a cast iron skillet, the cheese ends up being perfectly melted and then crunchy on the edge. Fish tacos were light and easy eating. Beef in the carne asada quesadilla was cooked well and nicely seasoned. Even their simple refried beans and rice was an elevated version. I will be back for brunch again! Service was friendly and informative.

It was Labor Day weekend and having that extra day of weekend increased my urgency to try something delicious! My wife agreed to join me for a slightly longer ride and we arrived in Union City at around 6:45 on a Sunday. We had 7 p.m. reservations and were seated at a nice table immediately. Every staff member was pleasant and professional. The woman that I believe was an owner was extremely knowledgeable and proud of the Sinaloanse cuisine. We selected the black garlic guacamole, the largest of the ceviches, cochinita tacos, and quesabirria tacos. All of the food was served at optimal temperature. The guacamole was exceptional, the addition of the black garlic and queso fresco was perfect. The totopos (tortilla chips) were perfect for lifting good amounts of the guacamole. The ceviche was absolutely deluxe! Great amount of vibrant and fresh seafood in a flavorful sauce! Truly delicious! I ordered the cochinita tacos because I love the flavors of cochinita pibil. These tacos really delivered in the flavor department! Tender pork and wonderful sauce. That said, the quesabirria tacos that my wife ordered are hard to beat! Melted cheese and tender beef with a zesty broth was outstanding! Having enjoyed the food so much, I decided to have the tres leches cake for dessert. The cake was the right amount of moist and artfully presented! We had a wonderful time enjoying a romantic date night at Arre Sinaloa and will be looking to return!

I've lived in union city for 5 years. And by far, non has come close to this amazing ambience and overall genuine experience. From the moment you walk through the blue entrance you are greeted with bright smiles, brightness and lovely decor. The cocktail menu was well balanced and the flavor profile was fantastic. I thought I was going to sit down and enjoy one, but... 3 cocktails later. And there's still a next time. The hospitality provided was top shelf. It was my birthday and I only mentioned that once to the Valeria, the bartender. I had the chef&owner and Isabel came to my section and wish me a happy birthday to which left an ever lasting memory. I was blown away by Gonzalo the Chef ‍ who has extended knowledge of food and beverages. I think everyone needs to experience his level of expertise and overall kindness. I felt like he treated us like apart of his family. Last but not least... I got something original and irreplaceable from this amazing restaurant. A hand written message from the chef and met new friends while dining here. I would recommend this place of warmth and comfort to all anyone who appreciates a good time and loving atmosphere.

Love to try Local Eats! This restaurant recently got their liquor license and thank goodness they Did!!! I'm a tequila mezcal lover and let me tell you the blend in these cocktails alone are enough to go even if you get no food. But please stay for the food hahaha the waiter was attentive and loved to give suggestions. He was friendly and you can tell he was proud of the establishment. I ordered the wrong item but was pleasantly surprised by the Birria. The tortilla for the cochinita tacos were fresh and the pineapple was fresh. The guacamole is a must get, it comes with fresh chips and just delightful.

I visited this place yesterday with some friends. Overall, the food was delicious and clean. Everyone was impressed by the chef's well-executed Mexican dishes. There were, however, a few things that could be improved. We ordered several dishes, and even though our table had no space left, the server still asked us to take the new plates. It would have been better if they had cleared some of the empty dishes before bringing out more food. Also, there was a discrepancy between the prices listed on the wine list and the prices printed on the final bill. This is something that definitely needs to be addressed. I understand the additional 4% credit card fee, but it would be better to note this clearly on the receipt. Simply stating that the prices are different for cash and card payments does not provide enough clarity to customers. Overall, the beautiful interior and excellent food left a strong impression. If the points I mentioned above are improved, I believe this place will become an even better dining destination.

I was browsing on Yelp for a new restaurant to try on Friday evening and came across Arre. When we arrived, we were able to get a table for 2 easily. The decor inside is eccentric but cozy and comfortable. Previously it was BYOB, but they just got their liquor license. We ordered the guacamole with black garlic + queso fresco and the butternut squash soup. The guacamole was very good, I loved the chips it came with along with shaved radish and beets. The black garlic worked really well. The butternut squash soup was very very sweet - too sweet, almost like a dessert. It needed some sour cream or queso fresco to balance the flavor. We ordered three of the tacos. The cochinita, chimibirria, and off menu fried fish tacos. They were all delicious. I'm a big fan of fish tacos, so they were my obvious favorite. Would definitely be back, this is a great locally owned business to support with owners that take a lot of pride in their Northern Mexican dishes.

I'm glad I ran across such a hidden gem! Parking is horrendous but I promise it's worth it. The owner greeted us at our table and you can truly tell how passionate he is with the food he makes. If you want alcohol, you must bring your own. Everything on the menu for drinks would be a mocktail. There's also a liquor store nearby in case you wanted something. The decor from floor to ceiling was well thought out and presented a cozy vibe. Even the bathroom has its charm! As for the food I do recommend the torre sinaloense! It's a good size to share as an appetizer. My group got different variations of the taqueria. You can't go wrong with any. What was unique was the chimi-birria out of the ones on the list. My friend described it as burrito mixed with cheese steak. It was quite heavy compared to the other tacos but was delicious! Ended the night with coffee and churros. The churros had a nice caramel filling. I only wish it was a tad warmer and crunchier when it was bought out. Overall this is a must visit! I'd gladly sign up to try other rich and flavorful items on the menu.

It's one of the if not the best Mexican restaurants in New Jersey! The ambiance is inviting and sweet, the service is impeccable and friendly, the hostess is phenomenal in recommending the food, the guacamole is out of this world and the ceviche and Bria is truly is amazing! We will definitely come again!

Came here for the first time with my sister and was immediately impressed by the inviting environment! It was a Friday night and there were plenty of people enjoying their meals among the beautiful decor and dim lights. We were warmly greeted and walked through the menu. I'm an east coaster who lived in Southern California for a few months and this food was comparable to fresh and delicious Mexican food out west. The aguachiles were so so tasty I just wish they came with chips or tostadas for some crunch. The fish tacos were SO good and the cochinita tacos were so tender and flavorful I didn't even care that they kept falling apart while I was eating them! We also ordered some drinks that were super tasty. Highly highly recommend checking out this place if in the area!

Unlike any other Mexican restaurant I've visited before. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food is nothing short of amazing. The staff/service were so welcoming. Definitely my new favorite restaurant for Mexican cuisine.

What a nice place. I loved the atmosphere and the service. The food was also very good. I feel that in some ways the menu was somewhat limited in regard to Mexican cuisine available but overall it was good. I did think that it was a bit pricey for the amount of food you received. Three tacos around $20 with nothing extra (beans, rice, etc) left us both hungry after we left. Definitely would go back but I wish the food had a little better value or more substantial portions.

We thought mini golf was interactive, everyone had the same chance to play and it's simple enough without exerting too much energy (unlike an escape room or the dancing tiles which I also came across in my research). Great place for friends, families, dates of all ages. We checked in on the ground floor (also have a coat check here) and were told they have a cabin themed course on the 2nd floor and a museum themed course on the 3rd floor, but there was a party going on. They also told us about the rooftop lounge, which is covered with plastic and they have heaters blasting the space. We went with the cabin themed. Although I don't think they completely blocked the 3rd floor with the party, we just didn't want to have to compete with others and wanted a quiet experience. They have stairs or an elevator. Once we got to the 2nd floor, we were the only ones there and were explained how the digital scoring works. We inputted our names, and our scoreboard would follow us from board to board in sequence after we all punched in our scores. The max was 6 putts per course to help keep things moving (we definitely played more than 6 on some courses lol). The courses did progressively get more challenging as you moved on. The decor was beautiful. Fairy lights lined the space with murals or a ski lodge/mountains around with a polar bear and a ski mobile. Many cute photo ops. On the last course, once you made it, the game swallowed your ball, I guess to help prevent you from trying to play the course again. I wish there was more than 9 courses though. It was fun enough but maybe having a few more would have helped fill the time more. Time flew by and we had lots of laughs. Would be excited to come back to try the museum course next time.

I booked a social package that included 90 minutes of reserved seating, one round of mini golf, and a $25 food or drink voucher per person. When we arrived, we were given tickets for mini golf, but the staff seemed unsure about how the food and drink vouchers worked. After some back-and-forth, we learned the vouchers could only be used on the second floor, and if used for drinks, there was only one option available -- a blue rum drink with coconut. Unfortunately, the drink missed the mark for me and my friends, and the recipe could definitely use some improvement. We were also never shown where our reserved seating was, which was disappointing. That said, I had an amazing group of friends, and we still made the night a lot of fun. We played the Lodge course on the second floor, which is their most challenging course and beautifully decorated. I also loved the tablet that kept score for us -- it was a great touch. The rooftop area is another highlight: it's heated and really enjoyable during the winter. Overall, while the atmosphere and mini golf were fun, I wouldn't book a party package again -- it wasn't worth the cost. Next time, I'd just pay for mini golf directly.
