Missed the two regular guys- not sure if they're not there anymore, but the two bartenders today on a Wednesday night (a woman and guy with glasses) were not attentive at all. Went tonight for the first time and yes I get it's hot out . But the sweat was pouring down all of us at the table ; when I asked the server if the AC was broken she said no , it's just very hot out ! Margaritas were great . Cheese dip was barely warm , the chicken flautas were good ! The FIFA game was blaring overhead , it was not a good experience ! And the service was awful , they were busy but it took too long to get our drinks , never got water we asked for. No good ! This review is ALL about the blueberry margarita in the margarita flight. Wednesday happy hour special $14 margarita flights. Great deal. Had mango (very good), passion fruit (very very good), raspberry (meh) and blueberry (freaking AWESOME!!!! And I'm not even a fan of blueberry generally speaking!). That blueberry margarita was SOOOO damned good!!! It had the best blueberry taste and was delightful. I highly recommend it. Oh and the beef chimichanga was good too. Decided to pop in after a local brewery across the street. Sat at the bar and was served complimentary chips and salsa. Started with Spicy Margaritas with a Tajin rim. Very good cocktail. Appetizers: Mexican Corn on the Cob - Definitely a different spin on street corn. It was a good combination. Steak Fajita - Very good. So good, 2 slices were gone before I could take the picture. Entree: Mixed Fajitas - Very good as well, typical Fajitas. Can't go wrong. Dessert: Churros - This was the only thing I would not recommend. I've had some good churros and this was not it. They were warm, but almost stale. Very hard and not light. Overall the service was amazing at the bar and the place has a good vibe. Really disappointing experience. It took forever for a server to come over, and I had to ask for water four times over 25 minutes before finally giving up and getting it myself from the bar. When I asked the manager at the bar for water, he gave me attitude and didn't even apologize. They also charged $4 for a tiny side of shredded cheese--completely excessive. It feels like they rely on the happy hour crowd getting drunk enough to overlook the subpar service and very basic food. Giving one star solely for the fresh guacamole, but it's definitely not enough to make me return. read more

I have had a lot of Mexican food in my day, but this place by far outshines anywhere else I have ever eaten. Bryan was an amazingly attentive and helpful server brought all my drinks and food right away! I tried the Viva margarita complete with eyeball to get me into the Halloween spirit, it was strong and tasty. Then I started out with a Tableside guac, super fresh; followed by the quesabirria. I usually just get it with regular cows milk but I thought I would try something different and tried goats milk. Just as creamy and delicious! I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu! This is one of my favorite local Mexican spots. The vibes are so cool, very colorful, lots of beautiful decorations and paintings throughout. You can sit in the dining room for a more quiet relaxing experience or at the bar/ in the bar area if you're looking for something more fun. The drink menu is long and creative- and the cocktails are good! Their menu is good, I've always enjoyed my food, and I love that they have a wide variety of vegetarian options. My only complaint is that I wish the service were better. In my experience I have either been rushed (our server tried to take away a plate while someone was in the middle of taking a bite of their food) or completely ignored with the exception of taking the order. Also have experienced the "tableside guac" not being table side like other reviewers have mentioned. I love this spot- it's worth checking out. Just hope their service improves. read more

We don't drink, we came to eat! Guacamole made table side was delicious, the added garlic gives it more flavor. Birria Beef tacos were good. They are not part of the 1/2 price taco deal, which was ok since we didn't know it was 1/2 price tacos anyways. Cochinita Pibil Taco Salad was good. The lettuce and tomato were too cold though. If they put some hot rice and beans, as a base, it might warm up the lettuce from beneath and the hot meat on top would warm down. Pina Colada was good but the straws are so thin I wasn't able to drink it LOL If you like Mescal and Tequila this is the place for you! They gave us a big menu of it lol read more

Super cute joint with plenty of seating, good tacos, great mojitos and margaritas! The decorations gave me Disney Encanto and Coco vibes. I love the colors of the walls and the colorful banners hanging from the ceilings. The restaurant in my opinion looked well kept, clean and inviting. All the people working when we went in today who helped out were so kind and friendly. I had the Electrico mojito and Uno Dos Tres Al pastor tacos. Mojito tasted good and strong. I just felt like we were bothering the bartender every time we asked a question but he wasn't rude just a weird mix of the service spectrum. We came for taco Tuesday for 1/2 price tacos and the tacos were good but small and did not include the beans and rice it said on the menu or what they advertise on their Instagram. So a little misleading. Just say tacos only and save people the trip when they come for the tacos, rice and beans. $5 Margaritas during Happy Hour were pretty good. The music they were playing was pretty good too. A lot of Karol G. I would come again but probably not for a while because every place deserves a second chance, but I'm a little disappointed in the service and the food because I expected more than what I got. Prices are reasonable with good specials most days. Service is slower here than at Cliffside's, but the restaurant is bigger and busier and there is good music and ambiance. Mixed feelings here. Absolutely LOVE the decor! So bright and colorful. I felt like I was on vacation in Mexico. The place is tremendous and had a fabulous atmosphere! The menu was also huge! Prices were extremely reasonable. However, my biggest complaint was that most dishes were in Mexican and there were no English explanations. Which meant we could only order a dish that we heard of before (tacos, enchiladas, burritos, tostadas) but we really wanted to order an authentic Mexican dish. The drink menu was also tremendous however, they were super expensive! $18 for a margarita! It seems bizarre when your drink cost more than your dinner meal. The service was super slow! The guacamole cart needs a sneeze guard. Overall we enjoyed it and will try again. Let's hope they make some adjustments. read more

Been meaning to try this place for a bit. We have our 'regular' places when we want a good margarita, some guac, maybe some birria, so we don't race to find another place to add to our list. However, after doing our taxes, it seemed like a good idea. Viva Margarita: Colorful, playfully garish, loud music, check check check. Sat at the bar and ordered tableside guacamole, queso con chorizo, and a cheese quesadilla. Your basic 'not going to commit to a full dinner before testing the waters' order. One jalapeno cucumber margarita, one Cuervo margarita. Pricing is on the ridiculous side. We figured the tableside guac could be worth the $14.95 -- performance art jacks up the rate, right? Here's what happened: I guess since we were at the bar and not at a table, the guac appeared already prepared in the standard molcajete vessel. Large vessel, not much guac. Too smooth and prepared very much ahead of time. Note to bar: don't offer what you can't do at the bar. As restaurant owners, we figured they would do it up in front of us from behind the bar. Nope. There was, and I am being generous here -- about 1.5 cups of guac, not much flavor, and about 1/4 of that was stuck in the volcanic crevices of the molcajete. We scraped our pita chips (you read that right) up the sides but got nothing but some chip dust. Figuring 1.5 avocados -- the guac ran them, on the generous side, about $1.25. On to the Queso con Chorizo ($8.99). This appeared in a smaller molcajete bowl, so blazingly hot it was boiling off the cheese and adhering it against the insides of the bowl and burning it. Sigh. Really? We spooned it on some of the chips and left it on our plate to cool so we didn't need to go to the hospital for burns. It was radically hot and not necessary at all. Couldn't tell you what it tasted like -- by the time it was edible, we didn't care. Again, being generous, this cost them under a couple of bucks. But that quesadilla ($10.95). Oh dear. Offered on a large tortilla was about, again my generosity preceeds this, 1/2 cup of cheese, only in the center, so you got two small bites before you hit the very plain, tasteless tortilla. Lots of extra quesadilla, empty, left on our plates. That cost them 32 cents to serve and they should be ashamed of themselves. Drink-wise, you really can't muck up two simple margaritas and they were decent, but nothing outstanding to make us come back. Barstaff, kind of aware, I guess. The food showed up, and we had no plates, utensils, naps. So I flagged down the busser who was still behind the bar because the bartender was on her phone and it could have been really important. To be fair, it looked like we were on shift change, but that's the time when you really try to pass off to the next shift seamlessly. Not here. While we were contemplating how the next shift bartender could possibly be at all able to do her job with the nails she was sporting, or how hygenic they could be, we got our check and got out. We know about overhead. But greedy is greedy. $64 w/out tip and that's our last visit. There are too many options for mediocrity. read more

I always love a good taco so wanted to try this spot. I ordered my meal online, the shrimp tacos. When I arrived I didn't see the private lot they have so parked elsewhere. I walked in and the nice lady had my food waiting. I grabbed it and left. When I got in, I dug in. The tacos were a bit soggy but was able to pop it in the oven for some crisp. I dug in and the tacos were very tasty and so was the rice and refried beans. In fact the beans were porkless and the best. The sauces they gave was a great addition. I have gone here for a lunch time. The specials are pretty good. We tried the chimichanga and knew we had to come back for more. We did just that this weekend but brought a group of friends too. I got the chicken chimichanga which was phenomenal. The creamy green sauce was not too spicy and the portion size was great. It also comes with rice and beans which are also well seasoned. The drink I opted for was called the Passion under the sheets. It's literally a Passion fruit infused Pina colada with a extra shot of rum = yum! There were also able to make a bean and cheese chimi changa. Others enjoyed this as well. The only thing that was not that great was the vegetarian choizo alternative. The service was great from the front desk to all the wait staff. The chips were replaced even before we had to ask. The sangria was fruity and fresh! The ambiance was filled with Mexican influenced paintings. The only thing was since it was live DJ night it was VERY loud. So it was hard to converse with the other friends. There's so many drink and food options to choose from. There's also a bar with tvs if you're there to watch sports. While you're looking at the menu, you're brought chips and salsa(tasty).
