For some of us, we had a double treat after attending the Yelp Elite Event at Eons Stix, the brainchild of chef and serial business owner George Georgiades and his wife, Anoush. They also have a family-run and operated establishment directly across the street called SQ Pizza. The SQ stands for square. This popular fast-casual concept serves authentic Roman-style pizza that can be ordered by the slice or pan, pasta, salad, and house-made gelato. We got to taste their gelato. Gelato means 'frozen' in Italian. It churns at a lower speed and freezes more slowly than ice cream. I decided on the mango gelato. Served with a flat spatula called a spade, it was smoother, bolder, and richer than ice cream. Thank you Anoush and the SQ Pizza team. It was a great finish from the moment we walked in--super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home to end this memorable event. read more

Arguably the best pizza place in the area. I look the vibe and coloration for the restaurant theme and the smell and atmosphere were enthralling and pulled you in. I really enjoyed the energy and laid back attitude I felt when I entered and I was served in a timely and friendly matter. The ovens and pizza selections were very unique and cool. Everything seemed clean and fresh and innovative. I want to go back again! read more

SQ's Pizza frozen Gelato is an absolute revelation--creamy, indulgent, and perfectly balanced between rich flavor and refreshing chill. Each spoonful delivers a luxuriously smooth texture that melts on the tongue, with authentic ingredients that taste delightfully genuine. The flavor depth is impressive for a frozen treat, showing thoughtful craftsmanship and a playful nod to classic pizza-inspired notes without being overbearing. Remarkable, memorable, and utterly crave-worthy--this gelato has earned a permanent spot in my freezer. The service was legendary. The dining area was very warm and inviting, as well. read more

The gelato is home made and delicious! So upset I didn't get to try the pizza, I was too full from eating at this amazing family's other restaurant, EONS Stix. I must make it back there because their flour is imported from Italy, this is something not too common around here. You can smell the amazing pizza the moment you walk in the door. The family who owns this place is so kind and the woman serving the gelato was so welcoming and personable. Highly recommend!! read more

SQ Pizza has the best pizza in NJ hands down! You won't be disappointed, everything on the menu is delicious.

Came here with a friend. We had a good time. There was a band playing right outside the entrance. The hostess was very nice and friendly as well as attentive. We ordered 6 different slices. Mushroom, spicy, Margherita, veggie, buffalo chicken & vodka pizza. I like the mushroom and veggie the best. I felt the spicy would be good if had more cheese on it (mozzarella not ricotta) but that's my preference. We also got a complimentary glass of wine. The establishment is giving local pizzeria with a touch of class. Lastly get an order of gelato. Made in house and delicious! read more

This spot is situated in what seems to be an apartment/business park hybrid. Those are some lucky folks because this spot has some great pizza! The inside is a sleek modern take on a pizza spot. The staff was super nice and helpful with recommendations. I'll admit that I was a little nervous when I saw the conveyor belt slice heater but my fears were put to rest after the first bite. We started with the CBR and white slice. The ranch was added after the heating which is a nice touch, warm ranch isn't always great. The ranch must be homemade as it was delicious and had a touch of sweetness that went perfectly with the salty, smokeyness of the other toppings. The white was everything you could ask for: delicious ricotta, cheesy, crispy crust, with a nice zing of garlic. The vodka slice was also delicious and the fresh basil was a welcome touch. This will be a must stop when I pass through on my way to NY! read more

Greeted by a very welcoming female who was anxious to deliver good service. The pizza was a bit too think for our liking and it lacked flavor. The toppings were also sparse. The arugula salad was good and fresh and the chocolate gelato was very good. I sampled The pistachio gelato which I felt did not taste like pistachio- it tasted more like cream. Overall it's a nice casual place and it was clean. read more

I was excited to finally try SQ Pizza after passing by it many times. Based on the photos and reviews I thought I was in for some amazing pizza but unfortunately the pizza looked a lot better than it tasted. Two of us ordered 3 slices online and was ready at time of pick up. We split 3 slices, a chicken parm, vodka margherita , and an upside down slice. The chicken parm slice had one small cluster of chicken on it. Overall the 3 slices were only okay with a slight chewy texture. I will say the crust is very good and was the highlight of the show. Maybe it will taste better at the restaurant, but overall there are many better local take out pizza places. read more

SQ Pizza - Chicken Parm, Vodka Margherita, Upside Down - Pizza Near Me - Montvale, New Jersey

The most intersting and tasty pizza I've had in New Jersey! Crunchy bottom of the air pocket filled tasty crust. This is one of the very rare times I've not left pizza crust uneaten on my plate!! Wish I had an SQ Pizza near my house.... read more

We stopped by here on a whim before hitting up Wegman's. It hit the spot. Crispy crust, fresh toppings, and best of all, some gelato. My 8yo gave the meatball and margherita slices a thumbs up. Pizza slices are square and they heated up fast. Not sure how they did that. All in all, very positive experience! 4/5 only bc it's fast food - not sure there's such a thing as a 5 star fast food place but that's just me. read more

Sandwiches were excellent! Large in size and full of fresh and flavorful ingredients! We tried The District and the Meatball Parm Roman sandwiches both very tasty. Meatball Parm should be served with silverware as it's hot and messy to eat with your hands. I liked the presentation on boards but plate service would be better. read more

I was super excited about giving this place a try. Then I arrived. I parked in the plaza lot. I walked into an event, and there was a live band playing. The place was super cute! I ordered pizza of different kinds, including the margarita and the Buffalo chicken. I really enjoyed the Buffalo chicken one, and my friend liked her Veggie pizza. Found out the pizza is non gmo, so I didn't feel full. We also had the homemade gelato coffee flavor, and that was good! Lastly, we had the bbq wings, and that was delicious! We had an amazing time! read more

Every time I have gone to SQ Pizza, I've had a great time. The food is always excellent and the staff is incredibly nice. I've gone for both the pizza and the gelato separately and both are amazing. The ingredients are fresh and the dough is very soft And taste delicious. Flavor consistency all top-notch... I'm definitely coming back. read more

Got a bunch of assorted slices and a chicken Caesar salad to go. The salad was really not good, plain unseasoned chicken that they seemed to just throw on top of a bed of lettuce and it melted to the large chunks of parm cheese, definitely could've gone without ordering it. The slices were fine, we added hot honey which always makes certain slices tastier, definitely big sizes and had an array of very unique types of pizzas. I think ordering a fresh pie would've been better. The ambiance is really cool though and I want to try their gelato if I go back read more

Too commercial tasting for me. I like authentic pizza. Cute decor but I wouldn't come back for the food.

SQ pizza is new the area and I finally was able to give it a try. Starting with the ambiance beautiful yet casual. I love the floor to ceiling concept and in the middle of a brand new construction site like the North Market in Montvale, everything is new and beautiful. Ambiance overall is casual. Seems like a spot with a lot of parents and kids (based on when I went) the food was good. I especially liked the regular cheese pizza. The vodka Margarita was not the best. Service was great. The pistachio gelato was delicious. I would definitely visit again for gelato in the summer. They have a takeout option for those who need to grab something and go. read more

Stopped in for a classic cheese pizza and a classic pepperoni pizza. Very good. Good classic food perfectly executed.

Surprisingly amazing! HUGE pizzas...fresh ingredients. Tons of options! Great find! Will definitely order again read more

I came here and we did takeout and ordered three different slices. We got the chicken Parm slice, Popeye, and prosciutto. They all looked really good and it was hard to pick which one we should get. When we brought it home and tried them, unfortunately we were disappointed. The crust on all of them was really good because it was thick, soft and crusty at the same time, but unfortunately, all of the toppings were very bland. The chicken Parm chicken did not taste good and the prosciutto there was huge chunks of garlic. I'm disappointed because I was really looking forward to trying this place. I thought it was really expensive (almost $20 for the three slices ) and flavor was not there. read more

It's so hip to be SQ! It may look like a chain pizzeria but this place has some very good Roman-style pies. They are square (duh) and airy. The topping combinations are outstanding! Go experiment with the combinations, you can't go wrong! read more

We have been waiting for SQ Pizza to open this location in Montvale and it was well worth the wait! It is a new beautiful space with plenty of parking over the weekend. Ordered online and our order was ready for pickup exactly when they said it would be ready. The 1/2 pan order is very large and is comparable in size to large round pizza. The food was good and hot! We will be regulars at this spot! read more

So I have been to the SQ Pizza in Mahwah a few times and I love it there. I was not sure what I was expecting at this location before going but I went with an open mindset. As soon as I walked in, the employees there were extremely friendly and patient while I decided what to order. I usually get the spicy pie slice so I had to get that again but asked for a recommendation for the second slice. I am glad I chose the chicken ranch slice too! I did not have to wait long and received my pizza crunchy and hot. The spicy pie slice is really spicy and I enjoyed it just the same as the other location. The chicken ranch was delicious as well. I ended my meal with the strawberry gelato. They let you try out the flavors you are interested in. It was very creamy and probably one of the best gelatos I personally have ever had. I highly recommend all to come enjoy here! read more

Clean space and have nice area where you can pick up something and eat it right there ... nice staff but I wish sometimes they had more help for a faster service ... the food is pretty good . Wish they had more thin crust pizza choices read more

The classic pizza is thin and light. Not doughy and heavy. Very good! Also their veggie sandwich and chicken sandwich are very fresh.

Pizza was completely unimpressive. Tried the buffalo chicken & brussel sprouts with onions. I tried adding garlic powder, red pepper flakes, fresh jalapeño and olive oil...Still not good. Crust was dry and everything tasted unseasoned. Also tried the GF. Worst EVER. Like cardboard. Not worth almost $5/slice...Maybe $3.50 at best. Total disappointment. read more

Did take out. Good pizza, excellent wings. Cesar salad was average at best. Had the the crust, very good.

Ordered a margherita square pie for pick up and it was ready in about 15 minutes. The restaurant was nice inside, high ceilings and smelled great. The pie was really good and different than a lot of places around here. We'll def be trying more. read more

Saw that they had homemade gelato, so I wanted to try it. It was NOT good! Instead of being creamy, it had an icy texture to it. Also, it had a funny taste to it like sour milk or maybe the machine they use to make it (if they use one) was dirty?? Not sure, but I've experienced this taste before after going to a Dairy Queen, and it's usually because their machines aren't clean. I took two bites of the gelato and threw it out. Waste of my money! read more

The food was awful. It's not good. The pizza was undercooked, no flavor and poor ingredients! Don't order from this place!

Horrible Horrible, just go to Shoprite and get a frozen pizza ,it better. They get your order wrong, dough is chewy , toping are tasteless. Do you want more? , if you must go to the one on 17s in Ramsey. That pretty good 3.6 out of 5. This is a 2 star max. read more
