We felt the hot dogs were rubbery in texture, and they tasted like they were reheated. The matzoh ball soup was bland. My mother enjoyed her pastrami sandwich. As far as atmosphere goes, the first table we sat at was wobbly. and when we transfered to the other, we found the table and season shakers to be sticky. The greatest disappointment was not the mediocre food, or the sticky table but what we witnessed. An elderly couple was sitting at the other table. The gentleman asked a server, possibly the owner or manager, for a glass of tap water. The response from the server was, "We don't have glasses of water here, but you can buy a bottle and I'll bring your two cups." We found this to be uncourteous and unwelcoming, and we felt a little embarassed for the nice couple. It seems that when a nice couple comes in to patronize your restaurant, and purchase a lunch, a little water would not be an unreasonable request. Any restaurant that treats elderly people this way will not receive my future business.

There are organic produce, specialty and niche brands of foods, snacks, groceries, condiments, household products, foods that cater to special diets (vegan, gluten-free, etc), cheeses and pastas, gourmet items, and a separate area of just vitamins & supplements, natural/clean beauty, homeopathic remedies, and other health & wellness products. There is also a deli area with a juice bar, takeaway sushi, prepared foods, soups, and a hot & cold buffet bar. You can take your food to eat in the cafe area near the entrance and also upstairs. The store is always very clean, well maintained and organized (labels all facing the same way, for example - details!). I'm able to find pretty much everything I need for healthful living, organic/less processed foods & snacks for my family, and so many brands and products that you can't get in regular grocery stores.

One can join their loyalty program, and get $10 off the bill when enough points have been accumulated. Let me just say, Kathy's Bagels is hands down the BEST bagel shop I've ever been to! One thing i…read morelove is how consistent Kathy's is! I don't even live in the area, but every time I'm in town, it's the first stop on my list. Kathy's bagels are next level: airy, light, and bursting with flavor. What truly blows me away is how fresh they stay, even if you freeze them and reheat later, they still taste like they just came out of the oven! And if you don't freeze them? No worries, because they don't get stale! My go-to bagels are the plain, jalapeño cheddar, onion, and garlic. but let me put you on to the real star: the French toast bagel with strawberry cream cheese. I know it sounds like a strange combo, but trust me, it's divine. I even gave it a name.. Carri's Strawberry Delight because it deserves that kind of love. I promise you, once you try it, you'll be hooked too! Beyond the incredible bagels, the entire vibe of Kathy's is warm and welcoming. Kathy herself is the sweetest soul genuine, friendly, and always making customers feel like family. The staff is just as amazing: attentive, upbeat, and kind. Plus, they cater to everyone with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, and the shop is filled with beautiful natural light that makes you want to stay a while. My only complaint? I wish Kathy's was in Manhattan so I could go every day! If you haven't been to Kathy's Bagels yet, don't walk RUN! The bagels are made fresh daily and in-house, and you can taste the love in every bite. Kathy's Bagels is a Hidden Gem You Need to Try!

I have been ordering since they moved over to the Nanuet NY location and have been a regular since. They strive for consistency and have achieved just that. I would recommend trying the jalapeño cheddar bagel, plain, onion, garlic and French toast bagel!! It's definitely one of those places you gotta get to early to get first pick. The service is amazing and every employee is so sweet. I have never received a wrong order or missing ingredients. The atmosphere is like a traditional deli with a few tables inside and outside on nice days. Very clean and tidy. Lastly not only are the bagels fresh in store but if you buy them in bulk, wrap them up and freeze them, they reheat beautifully in the oven! 1000% would recommend.
