4/4.5 stars Ordered a vegetable pie, white pie with broccoli and 3 plain slices (plain slice is $3). Cost about $58 and took around 25 minutes on an early Saturday evening. My in law thinks they might have new owners. They now accept credit cards. Everything just came out of the oven when picked up and was still hot by the time we got home! We were blown away by the amount of toppings they put on the pies. The vegetable pie had a great assortment too. They weren't chintzy with the amount of ricotta on the white pie either. TONY D WHYD YOU SELL??? New ownership. Different place altogether. So sad. Before it was old school cool. One gent, that I can only assume was Tony D, serving up simple good pizza. No frills. Old radio playing old rock music. Now it's half a dozen people working but what appears to be none of them making pizzas as the offerings look like they've been sitting out way too long. No change in decor. No improvements made. Only thing I see is a new electronic card reader... yay? Pizza is $3.25 a slice when paid in cash. Sigh. Pizza is decent. Not what Tony D served but decent at best. I use to go out of my way to drop in here. That isn't the case anymore. Good night, sweet prince. Thanks for the memories, Tony. You made great pizza. Outstanding pizza! Excellent quality and generous portion. Staff is courteous and competent.

Stopped by for Sunday night dinner pick up. I ordered the chicken parm entree with penne after reading some raving reviews online. For $19 it was an extremely large portion enough for 2 people. A hefty size of pasta with 3 large chicken parm cutlets. As you can see in the photo the one issue was the amount of sauce, the chicken was drowned in tomato sauce And It took some time to find all three pieces of chicken !! The sauce was was good ,but definitely ease up or throw the extra sauce on the side since it took away from the cheese and chicken. Overall an okay dinner with a lot of food. I'll be back to try the chicken parm sandwich in hopes to get proper chicken/cheese and sauce ratios. read more

Old school pizza joint finally joins the modern age! Went in for their classic tomato and onion slice and saw that the old cash register (cash only) was replaced by a Stripe monitor and they now allow credit card transactions! Yes, the joint finally changed hands but still good to see one of their main guys (was there for 14 years) still there...so chances are they will have familiar fare. They also now deliver! read more

The owner is wonderful and is always super nice and talkative when I am in here. The pizza is amazing also!! We always ask for ours well done to get that extra crunchy crust. Simply put closest pizza to NY in northen NJ. Born and raised in Brooklyn and Queens gives us a different prospective on pizza. Tough to find it in NJ. This one is "pretty" good. Can use little more flavor in the sauce and the dough is a touch chewy. Other than that it's close. read more

I'm a chef. I've been the quarterback of one of the most popular steak joints in the state - the river Palm terrace. So when you don't want to cook...you're going where there's a difference. The chicken parm hero here is one of the best things I ever ate. The picture you see is how it comes unwrapped to go. Unlike any other pizza place that rolls it closed in 5 feet of foil so there is no cheese when you unwrap it and the bread has been 10 steps past abused. This is the holy grail of what a parm hero should be when presented. Eat in or take out. read more

Ordered one and one. That's what we used to call it in the Bronx. One regular, one Sicilian. Regular slice was thin and had a nice crisp crunch. Not A ton of cheese but good enough. Today I ordered from Tony Ds today for the first time. The food was very good, however, I was highly disappointed with the service. After going on their website to review their menu and deciding to place my order by phone, I arrived to pick up my food to be told they do not accept credit/debit cards. When I asked how was customers supposed to know they are "cash only" I was told, " l should have asked" and "most of the customers know". I can understand their decision not to accept cards, but I do think the info should be clearly stated in anticipation of NEW customers. I'm sure I'm not the only person that travels with little cash these days. Nothing is on the website, their menus or posted in the restaurant. Not only was my family waiting for dinner, but It was an inconvenience to leave, find a bank and go back again to pick up. This is one of my favorite spots for pizza in the Westwood area. Particularly, I like the plain slice, the white slice, and the sausage slice. The best slice by far is the spinach slice. They take a plain slice and put 3/4 of an inch of sauteed spinach over the slice. Then they top that with a little bit more tomato sauce and some parmesan cheese. Mmmmmm read more

This is your run-of-the-mill, neighborhood pizza joint. Most of the time, the food hits the mark. Sometimes above, sometimes below. What do you want from a 'Tony D's'? Still, when I think of getting something from the place, my mouth always waters. And when all is said and done, whatever meal I get nearly almost always satisfies. The young feller with his hair slicked back doing the cashier work is at times peculiar, bordering on creepy. But that's what you get from a place like this! It's part of the ensemble. In my continuing quest to find decent pizza, I decided to give Tony's a try. First impression, upon walking in the staff didn't make eye contact for almost 2 minutes despite that the place was virtually empty WTF. That set the tone for me, when I finally did get my order handed to me I pulled out my debit card.....sorry cash only another WTF moment, over 28 for two pies - ouch ! When I got home to eat them I must say I was NOT impressed. Decent sauce with a nice sweetness to it, not enough cheese for my liking and most important of all the crust. The crust was lacking BIG TIME as seems to be the case with most of these pizza joints.Its seems to me that ALL these pizza joints have cut back on their ingredients and the infamous crust is a memory of yesteryear. Final word, there are many other choices within 500 yards that are better and cheaper. Keep driving to one of them and dont waste your time here, oh and if you do happen upon this place make sure you have cash because visa is not welcome. read more
