Stop by visiting family were from LA. Looking for something special got to talk to a Paul who knew his inventory and had some good recommendations. After patiently waiting for us to decide we found he wasn't trying to have us buy more expensive of the wines just describing their taste. Bought one of suggestions wines and every one was very pleased at holiday party would definitely recommend Bottle King. Thank Paul read more

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon with a friend to browse for some goodies. The store was very organized and had a decent selection for most items, but I was unimpressed with their cider options. It was disappointing that they really had no variety of ciders, so I opted not to buy anything. My friend was able to find everything he wanted and more, but I definitely couldn't say the same. This is an ideal spot for picking up basics or gifts, but I wouldn't return for my own personal purchases. read more

Bottle King - the inside of a grocery store - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Hillsdale, New Jersey

Service is perfect, price is fair and always on time. What else can I say. Call them.

I have been coming to the store for years. It is well organized and staff is very knowledgeable. The manager, Ted, is exceptionally friendly, and really knows his inventory. Although not as large as some of the other bottle Kings, it is a wonderful neighborhood, liquor store. read more

My favorite liquor store for a quick, reliable, inexpensive booze refill. The beer selection is great, including the NJ-brewed variety. I grabbed my locally brewed Arrogant Bastard Ale, and went to brag about it to my friends. The wine selection is impressive, too, but no one cares. Are you still reading? Whiskey. Brandy. Vodka. Cheap (especially if you're their "card" member). Enough parking for a Justin Bieber concert. Buy some discounted wine (the second cheapest, as always) and claim it's Henri Jayer Richebourg Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits, the Modovian version, the one with the grapes that only saw the sunlight at 45 degree angle. Your wife will be seduced. read more

Bottle King - Me? - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Hillsdale, New Jersey

I love coming here for great deals on liquor before meeting with friends for dinner at a BYOB spot. Join the frequent buyer's club card to receive more great deals. I am careful not to judge people when they push their shopping cart of alcohol around the store. read more

Walked in there trying to find two wines I liked and came upon an employee so I asked for some help. He was already on his phone and when I asked him for help, he looked at me like I wasn't even there and walked away!! I went looking by myself and he was in the next isle on his phone again!! The young man was tall, had long red hair. Very disappointed. It was incredibly rude. read more

I went in and asked for Prosecco and was shown an aisle. I turned around and left. "Bottle King"...not in my book read more

I've been coming here for years. The manager lies to you, Tad or Mike, lie They will get allocated Bourbon and hide it up in their office for someone, but not me, a good customer. First come, first serve should be the rule. I'm not sure if ownership knows. Maybe some $$ under the table? I will call owners read more

The staff working here are pretty knowledgeable about what they have in stock and are very helpful if you need help narrowing down the choices. I have been here a few times and it seems that the beer selection has been growing which is always a good thing. Parking is plentiful and the store can get pretty busy. However it is still one of the best spots in the area for some quality beer and wine. read more

I return regularly to Hillsdale Bottle King...and make it a point to stop by when in the area. It is worth it as a destination. Pluses: * Outstanding collection/selection of bourbons...including the hard to find stuff and bourbons unavailable elsewhere. Ditto Irish whisky (without the e). * Convenient to get to...5 mins from Exit 168 off GSP * Website that works well. Though actual store selection is greater than what's online * Part of the 15-location Bottle King empire, so prices are consistently very good. Small Gripe: * Access of website from my iPhone is nearly impossible to use. True Story: The day after I noticed a pricing error on my receipt, I made a comment online. Dan the store manager called me within 30 mins to offer to compensate me next time I stop in. Very good sign...reinforcing my trust in them. Tip: Use the free Bottle King Club Card for best price. They will look it up from the cash register if you don't have it with you. Store Hours: Mon-Sat 9am-10pm, Sun 12am-5pm. read more

Just made a stop here to pick up some wine. I am an absolute novice when it comes to wine & I really have no clue what I'm doing when choosing a bottle. This store makes it easy for a novice like me to find the right bottle. First off, they have a vast selection to choose from & they also break the entire section down by the different countries to which the wines come from. The store then makes sure to promote the pick of the month for each different country & have a little write up about those particular wines. I was looking for a Chilean wine & I noticed right away a bottle next to the pick of the month. This bottle also had a small write up about it & while reading it, it sounded like the right choice. To make it even better they had a discount for it for Club Members, which I am. I was then able to find a nice bottle of white wine that also had a discount for Club Members, so I grabbed that too. For a novice like me, I found it very easy to find some good wine. I'm very much looking forward to having some later on today! read more

Bottle King - Undurraga, Cabernet Sauvignon: Bottle King, Hillsdale NJ - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Hillsdale, New Jersey

See all

So this Bottle King here is quite a small location. If you're a beer enthusiast though then head on over! Not to be forgotten are the wine drinkers! They carry an excellent selection of wines, some of which do go on sale to card members. When it comes to alcohol, just remember that it's not a bad thing if it's on sale! When it comes to beer they carry an excellent selection of brewers, not an extensive selection, but an impressive one nonetheless. They do stay on top of the seasonal selections which is something I always look for. Usually it's a bad sign when you see a winter ale from last year peaking at you through the glass. If you need case purchases they will give you a hand and there's some good deals to be had as well! read more

The only place we bought alcohol while in New Jersey! Pros: - wide variety of beer and wine for a great deal - you can join the frequent buyer's club card for better deals on some selection Cons: - small - isle's are narrow Overall: 4.5 stars. Had a good amount of beer and wine selection. We stopped by here twice (before Christmas and New Years) to pick up some drinks and they did not disappoint. The isles are a little small - makes it hard to maneuver esp when you are already buying so much stuff! read more

Way smaller than the one I'm use to on 17 but this one is literally 3mins away from my home. I find it harder to find what I'm looking for in here but that's not a big deal. Mostly buy liquor for cooking. Myself a great cook and my fiancee is a Chef. But the emo looking cashier has a personality of a stale 8 month old French fry found stuck between your car's seat. No hi, thank you or good bye. My man said her look is a perfect match to her personality. We've been going to shoprite liquor store instead. read more

Couldn't agree more with NicoleM. The girl she is referring to is Alley or Allie or whatever. I called the store last night to mention that she's ruining the experience of their customers. I'm sure it went on deaf ears... oh well, I'd rather pay the extra 5% elsewhere then experience her lack of any type of personality. I'll pop in occasionally to see if she is gone. read more

Bottle King - a woman with long black hair and a white dress - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Hillsdale, New Jersey

The epitome of doing a lot with a little. The space is limited; however, the inventory is deep. Illustrative of same- they have Storybook Mountain Vineyards 2008 red, which is outstanding, but not excessive. The beers are in the refrigerated cases in the back and impressively deep for a limited space. Simultaneously, Bottle King offers a selection of spirits that is deep enough to compete with most liquor stores in the area. Equally impressive is the service. It's rare to be in the store for more than 5 minutes before someone on the floor asks if you require assistance. The lack of one star is strictly attributable to the lack of space- a bigger space and a deeper inventory would make Bottle King the undisputed champ of the Northern Valley. read more

Great selection, especially their selection of red wines, which are quality at good prices. It's the quality of wine first that sets-them apart. Great service too!!!! read more

Great selection and great service. The manager even spent time checking my purchase after I thought I had bought a six-pack and left it behind as part of a larger order. To my embarrassment, it turned out I had forgotten to buy it, but he could not have been more gracious. read more

Great liquor store. My go to liquor store of choice and in town. They don't have as much as Total Wine, obviously due to lack of space but they have a great selection of craft beer, hard alcohol, wine and 30 packs. Their staff is very accommodating as they always greet you and ask if you need assistance. Their prices are fantastic as well. read more
