You can smell the bread and pizza from roughly 100 meters away. A guy like me can cover that in the 11 second range once the vermicelli noodles of hair in my nostrils catch the right sniff. Impressive? Idk. But I bet I look the part when I'm cycling my feet in continuity with my arms pumping in synchrony. Covering the X and Y Axis at the perfect rates as to not extend my stride too long or bring my knees to high. I'm a peddler. A popper. The Pepper Shaker. But anyways - everything was pretty solid. Pizza was solid. Not going crazy for it but if you need a little pick me up on your Park Ridge stroll you'll be pretty content having a low 7s slice and supporting local business. Maia's is a cute bakery. There's street parking in the area and it's quite small inside. They sell breads, sweets and pizzas. However, selection is limited. It's one of those places where they make a few things and they'll run out soon enough. I bought a Nutella babka and a sourdough baguette, which is small. It's only about 6-7" long. Again, cute place. Both items tasted great and I can say that the quality is there. If you're expecting a big bakery, this isn't the place. It's more of a niche place with select offerings. There are a couple tables inside, if you'd like to stay and munch. While visiting on a Friday morning, a few other customers popped in and I could tell that they definitely have repeat customers. Inside was small and no frills, but it offered plenty of baked goods. I came for the pizza and picked up three slices to go. Reheated them in the toaster oven and was shocked at how delicious they were. The slices included pepperoni, margherita, and a white onion slice. All had great flavor, but the white onion was my favorite. The dough had a crispy outside with a perfectly chewy center. I'll definitely be going back to try some of their other baked goods. read more

We have been wanting to go to this spot for a while, but the hours are limited so if you need to go for lunch to get some of the sourdough pizza. When we went around 3 o'clock, there was only a couple slices left. The pieces were very big, but also was a little expensive at more than five dollars a slice. I really liked the cheese crust on the outside of the pizza. There were a lot of desserts that we looked at in the case that looked delicious. I can't wait to go back to try some of those. read more

Such a cute shop with coffees, pizzas, pastries, and very impressive cakes! They had samples of the individual sized pastries which was much appreciated! The little bear was the cutest, and tastiest thing I've ever tried. Got a delicious iced coffee for a fair price. And the worker was super sweet! A couple tables/seats inside and one table outside as well. Definitely would like to try the sourdough pizzas, they look incredible. read more

Maia's Bakery is a sheer favorite of my family's, and we have now tried so many of their various desserts and pastries, since they are always fresh and light. Our custom order of a 6" Carrot Cake was no exception. Its layers of moist cake were sprinkled with finely diced walnuts for a crunch that contrasted well with the gooey cream cheese frosting. It also seemed to contain a very small amount of, if any, added sugar. It was an excellent rendition of a traditional cake variety that also felt elegant and elevated; it was flawlessly designed and decorated. We would definitely recommend Maia's Bakery for a random treat or a planned, made-to-order confection. Plus, their coffee beverages have also been winners! read more

Had a wonderful Brie and Arugula sandwich here, the bread was very fresh and there was a sweet spread on it as well, maybe a honey mustard. Got a delicious iced coffee as well. Staff is always very friendly and nice. More seating would be great! read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find this beautiful new bakery on my way to another popular bakery. I purchased a tasting menu for my family's cheat day. The workers were very nice and helpful. The hazelnut croissant pastry was spot on. It was perfect. This alone won them 4 stars in my book. The Chocolate Cruffin was also fantastic. The butter crunch of a croissant with a rich chocolate filling. We fought over this. My kids enjoyed the macarons. I was too slow and missed them. However a bit of feedback: The large espresso latte was weak and I recommend ordering it plain or saying, "1 pump only please." The one I ordered today was so sweet that I took it home and added another shot and it was still too sweet. While it is safe to assume that someone that buys pastries loves sugar I, surprisingly, like my lattes dark and rich and only my sweets, sweet. If charging Starbucks prices it's got to be on point. Next the vanilla cupcakes. French means butter, not vegetable oil and whipped cream topping. Bottom cake tasted like a box mix with extra vanilla and an enricher. Not worth $4 or the calories, this was tossed. The cream filled brioche looked amazing but the bread was too dense, too similar to a dinner roll and the cream was a tad runny. In this heat I imagine one may have added a bit more flour to help with stickiness. I recommend more butter, more kneading. I will try this one again. The Opera cake looked incredible and it was good. Strong flavors of dark chocolate and espresso but it also boasted buttercream and sadly it was chocolate flavored whipped cream with no butter in sight. It's missing a creamy element. All in all, go for the croissant pastries. You will not be disappointed. I'm looking forward to watching this bakery grow. read more

I probably shouldn't admit this out loud, but I stop into Maia's at minimum, once a week. I've been going here since they opened last year and I don't think I've had anything I didn't like. They have a nice variety of sweet and savory items and the recent addition of pizza to the afternoon menu has been a plus. Aside from the delicious food, Maia and her team are great. Everyone is extremely friendly and personable. If you haven't been here, I definitely recommend stopping in and checking it out. read more

The best croissants I've had since Paris. I was shocked to find such flaky ones in New Jersey. The ham and cheese sandwich was also great and the baguette was super fresh. Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. You can tell they use good ingredients here. Coffee is from La Colombe which I appreciate. I've been to this bakery about 10 times. It is by far my favorite in the area. There isn't a huge volume of food, however, everything is fresh. The croissants are buttery, delicious and flaky. A ham and cheese croissant with a cappuccino has become my favorite breakfast. Try it out, I'm sure you will be delighted. read more

Hands down the best croissant I've ever had from a local bakery-it's what I imagine the croissants in France taste like! I had that for my lunch and took home a sourdough long roll for my next day's lunch. I ended up having the roll (which was more like a baby loaf) with salad as part of dinner and it was equally fantastic! I can't wait to go back for sweets!! read more
