I am on a quest to find to the best lemon ricotta pancakes and I believe search is over, I am just sad that we live so far away. I will be dreaming about these Pancakes!! Other dishes that we got were the Mushroom Polenta and Pozole. The Scottish egg on the Pozole was yummy and the Pozole had quite a kick of spice. All the toppings on the mushroom polenta were delicious, but the polenta itself almost seemed lacking compared to the toppings. Not sure why but my polenta was almost clumping and even with the toppings, a bit bland to eat. The ambiance is nice with self-seating and ordering at the counter. Servers were kind with free refills for our coffee and even offering to give us some in a to-go cup free of charge! The best breakfast or lunch place in the entire Paso Robles area. It is so good. Every dish is special original and fresh never fails fresh squeezed, orange juice. The coffee is great every single item that I've tried and I've tried most of them. They are fantastic very simple no nonsense place you order your items you pay for it all the utensils and everything else is right there for yourself to pick they bring the food to you. The french toast is really more like a firm brioche bread pudding that has been sliced into toast and turned into french toast- it is out of this world. The breakfast burrito is gorgeous- crisp potato croquettes tucked inside, the egg and avocado layered beautifully with bacon. It's really a work of art. The pastrami sandwich is competitive with a NY sammie and the Vietnamese salad is incredibly refreshing, crisp, light- not like big chunks of cabbage you might get elsewhere. Our new go to stop on our way from SF - LA. This place worked great for our lunch stop. Ordering at the counter made it quick but it isn't "fast food". We got real food fairly quickly and sat outside at a shaded table. The woman who took our order was quite friendly and the location is just right for a lunch stop on our drive down without going out of the way. You know those, "treat yourself days" where you start off with a really good breakfast. This is that place! I've been here twice and the food doesn't disappoint. You order inside,pay, find yourself a seat and wait. The only downside is if you decide you want more you have to stand in line again. Kitchenette was recommended to us by a local winery when we asked for recommendations for Farm to Table Breakfast. We had such a positive experience we had to share. The manager/front do the house guy was so kind and friendly through our meal, and was great at multi-tasking and taking care of everyone while also taking orders, refilling drinks, and assisting the back of house. We ordered the corned beef hash, ricotta pancakes, and loaded avocado toast. The corned beef hash was spectacular. Huge chunks of homemade corned beef, crispy potatoes, and cabbage. The egg was perfectly cooked, nice and runny, which blended so well with their mustard sauce that they use. The meat to potato ratio spectacular- they do not skimp on the meat which my husband loves. Some places load up the potatoes and give you a few tiny pieces of corned beef. Not Kitchenette! The blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes are a must. They're fluffy and light with a little crisp on the top- and the sauces work so well! The avocado toast was delicious, but the corned beef was the shining star! Great coffee as well.
