Kitchenette was recommended to us by a local winery when we asked for recommendations for Farm to Table Breakfast. We had such a positive experience we had to share. The manager/front do the house guy was so kind and friendly through our meal, and was great at multi-tasking and taking care of everyone while also taking orders, refilling drinks, and assisting the back of house. We ordered the corned beef hash, ricotta pancakes, and loaded avocado toast. The corned beef hash was spectacular. Huge chunks of homemade corned beef, crispy potatoes, and cabbage. The egg was perfectly cooked, nice and runny, which blended so well with their mustard sauce that they use. The meat to potato ratio spectacular- they do not skimp on the meat which my husband loves. Some places load up the potatoes and give you a few tiny pieces of corned beef. Not Kitchenette! The blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes are a must. They're fluffy and light with a little crisp on the top- and the sauces work so well! The avocado toast was delicious, but the corned beef was the shining star! Great coffee as well. I came in and it was busy. The gal that was at the register was helping with a group in front of me very upbeat positive attitude. She got to my order with a smile. Took my order poured me a cup of coffee and in just a few minutes brought me my breakfast. The food was delicious. I had pozole verde and it was fantastic. this review is for COVID - outdoor dining experience HOLY MOLY. first thing first - the brown rice bowl? INCREDIBLE. tbh, I was a little wary when the bowl came out and the rice was green from some mysterious sauce slathered on top but it was some type of crack sauce...SOOOO good. highly recommend ordering it with the braised pork, for sure worth the upcharge. super tender and flavorful, it really ups the flavorbomb profile on this dish. also - they serve fresh squeezed OJ, as in they actually squeeze some real oranges in the AM to serve it up. my only dislikes about this place? you have to go up to the counter to order and take a number, then find a table. the problem is there are several table hoarders - so they send one person to order and one person claims the table. probably worked fine pre-covid times, but with the current times, i did not feel super confident the tables were cleaned thoroughly between patrons. we were waiting for a group that left and the staff came to wipe down the table with a washcloth - didnt know if there was any disinfectant on the towel and the seats were not wiped down. for sure this is me being extra paranoid but having eaten at other places and seeing how they've cleaned up, makes me slightly more uncomfy. read more

Let me start with YUM!!! Seriously this place has breakfast dialed in. My daughter and I needed to get out of town and our favorite escape is wine tasting in Paso. Here's what we ordered: Roasted Pork and Sweet Potato Hash - This has DELICIOUS!! The pork was tender and full of flavor. The egg was perfectly cooked to where the yolk just oozed over every bite. But what sent this dish over the edge was their homemade hot sauce. OMG it was like nothing I've ever had and something that makes my mouth water right now just thinking about it. Deeeeeeeelicious! Lemon Ricotta Blueberry Pancakes - This was another homerun for us. Super tasty, light and fluffy pancakes with a lemon drizzle and a pile of blueberries on top. I'd order this again and again. Service was outstanding. I got to chat with the owner a bit and she shared with me that her husband makes that scrimptions hot sauce himself. I seriously need 10 bottles of that stuff. Although we lefts with content bellies, I felt the portion sizes could have been a bit larger for the price. Experienced one of the worst service ever from the gal Remi on the morning of 10/28/23. The restaurant was busy and we had a group of 8. Seeing that there was no seating for us, we decided to order take-out INDIVIDUALLY. To our surprise, Remi tried to tack on an additional 18% gratuity to each of our orders. Keep in mind, this was for take-out, not dine-in, so essentially no service is needed. When we asked for a reason why, her response was that it was restaurant's policy, and that they would need to pack a few extra boxes. LOL, really? Can you please share that policy to us, Remi? I would love to see it. So you're saying if one person orders take-out, you'll be adding that gratuity fee for that ONE person too? Since when did mandatory gratuity tip for one take-out order become a norm? As if the price you charge for below-mediocre basic food isn't enough already, you feel the need to charge us because you have to pack a to-go box for INDIVIDUAL orders. I thought the cost of eating out at a restaurant is bad already in San Francisco, but it looks like there's some competition at Paso Robles now, both price and service. I mean, $17 Ranch Hand Salad? I can get a Chicken Caesar Salad at Costco for $7. For $17, I can get TWO WHOLE SALADS at Costco with probably better service! In addition, Remi stated something along the lines of, "Look I don't want be rude, but this is our policy and I have a line out the door". Essentially, she's telling us to either take it or leave it. Man, I sure hope the owner of Kitchenette reads this. I'm sorry, but with this type of service, Remi will be lucky to receive even a 1% tip. I guess this was a blessing in disguise though as this forced us to leave and find something better (check out Joe's Place Paso Robles, service was outstanding!) I've been coming to Kitchenette for a while now. It is always the highlight of my day to eat there! Jen always greets you with a smile and a "hey hun". The music is always happy and the place is filled with light. Both their breakfast and lunches are delicious! They will always work with you with if little changes need to be made. The ambiance of this place is definitely five stars! And the flat white coffee I got was amazing! However, my partner and I both ordered the breakfast burrito and were very disappointed in the lack of flavor. There was no salt in anything it seemed like, and the salsa they provided was very vinegary and not at all soicy. We did love the way the panini press held the burrito together, but the eggs tasted microwaved and the potato croquett did not seem to have any seasonings. We went on a rainy day, place it's really cozy and service super fast. Have in mind that you have to order and pay first, then you sit down. Our food came really fast to the table. I ordered the Mushroom polenta, it was my first time trying it and for my personal opinion it was just "ok" a little bit salty but still good to eat. Muffin soft and sausage mild wit tasty. Both sandwiches were so hot when served that I had to wait to eat them. Ice tea was brewed correctly. No bitterness and served without sugar. Just paid $16 for the worst egg McMuffin of my life. Eggs were cooked to death and extremely dry and the whole thing had no flavor.

Ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon and added the hot sauce and it was so good! A little pricey but definitely worth it, not greasy, great flavor and well seasoned. Hard time deciding what to order, and ultimately settled on the mushroom polenta and bacon dish which was even more yummy than I thought it would be. (Bacon makes everything better!) Boyfriend got the breakfast burrito, which he really liked. We also ordered the mimosas. They were very generous with the champagne. The lack of table service did not effect the experience... It's a relaxed atmosphere very nice. Watch out for the falling acorns off the big oak tree. The food was visually appealing and very tasty. I was pleasantly surprised as to how good the food was.
